Ran into you guys that day. Short story, we found a car key up on Torreys. Picked it up and did Grays. Headed back to the trailhead and a guy we had chatted with earlier was asking if anyone had found car keys up at the mountain. When I pulled out his car keys he was in AWE. Lots of trail magic that day. Cheers!
Chris that is so awesome that you picked up that guy's keys and got them back to him! And here's some more trail magic for you. Right after we left we saw an exhausted looking guy walking down that steep road so we stopped to give him a ride -- and it was your guy! We had plenty of time to talk on the way back down that gnarly road to his car, and he told us the whole story about how you found his keys. Trail magic for sure! Such a pleasure to meet you! ❤️
Oh that’s great! I did both peaks as well through the same route back in August this year. So beautiful and amazing. My respect to the Kelso Ridge, definitely scary and challenging. Great job! 🤩🙌🏻
Good for you, Paco! So glad you've gotten a chance to do this gorgeous hike. Kelso really is beautiful and amazing the whole way -- just spicy enough to be fun and interesting but never making you fear for your life or anything. Pretty much a perfect route! ❤️
Another great adventure! Hope you continue to pick off the 14ers. I've done 20 and probably won't get them all since I'm old and live here on the Gulf Coast. But I love the CO peaks and seeing you guys take on these epic journeys! PS - I did Missouri Mountain on 10/3 and it was a blue bird day, was sweating on the way down because it was so warm!
We've got your back on this, Dan! We haven't even gotten to 20 yet, but our goal is to do all of them (and all the CA 14ers as well). Not sure if we'll get there, but it will be a few years of great fun trying, and we look forward to sharing it all with you. Two more CO 14er videos coming up the next 2 weeks! Meanwhile, congrats on Missouri -- can't wait to give that one a try at some point! ❤️
Thank you very much, that is lovely to hear. We've definitely been having a wonderful time adventuring and just enjoying life to the fullest this year -- so happy that that's coming across in the videos! ❤️
Thanks David! We think you are right -- very often on these adventures we get amazing luck with the weather, and always give thanks to the mountain gods! ❤️
This is a great hike, done this a couple of times. Always make sure to start early and be heading down by noon, storms always rolling in in the afternoon, been on the top with my girlfriend while her 2’ of hair was standing straight up. We ran down as fast as possible. We told the mountain goat at the summit he may want to head down as well. 😂
Haha yes! That one section in particular was about the sharpest ridge we've ever been on -- and slick on the sides too! But plenty of great holds along the top, so fortunately not too dangerous if you're careful. ❤️
Hey, thanks for another wonderful video! That knife edge looks like a real attention getter. It's fascinating how different the scenery and geology of the Rockies is from the Sierras! Great music on this one too. Cheers!
Cheers David! Ya we've really been enjoying both the similarities and differences between the Rockies and the Sierra, but one thing for sure -- we're bailing out of the Rockies now that the snow is crazy. They definitely get the big snows a month or two before the Sierra. Super glad you enjoyed this one -- it was one of our favorite hikes of the fall, along with that beautiful one to Conundrum hot springs. Hope you're doing great!! ❤️
You two are nuts! Instead of having a fun, yet challenging day climbing two 14ers using the main trail, you've got to find a death defying route, complete with hurricane force winds to make it "spicey". That's why I love watching you two and your videos. 😘
Yesss! That was the ridgeline of our dreams. Not too hard but just spicy enough to keep it interesting, and wow those views! So awesome you’ve done it :)
Yes Doug! The ridge really made the whole hike for us. The two peaks had incredible views, of course, but the ridge line was like adult Disneyland -- so much fun the whole way! ❤️
Yes John! The ridge was definitely our favorite part -- very fun and interesting the whole way, and not too much loose rock or anything to make it scary. ❤️
Thanks Gerard! We're having so much fun showing you these Colorado adventures -- we're planning at least two more 14,000 foot peaks if we can get them in before the snow comes! ❤️
These would actually be great ones to start with if you get interested in 14ers. The regular trails up and down are not technical at all so you can just focus on dealing with the altitude -- and the views from both peaks are amazing! ❤️
That is great to hear, Dave! We're just going to try to get into ski mountaineering this year, so will hopefully be back to do this ski style in a year or two! ❤️
Im in awe of what you guys can do. So good to watch your adventures especially along knife edge ridges like these and in the high winds too. You both should have Spiderman and Spiderwoman outfits the way you scale those mountains 😮 Walking up the loose scree and rocks is the worst! but you do it with a smile on your face. Brilliant video once again ❤
Haha thanks Tony! Adam would totally wear a spiderman outfit -- I think he's still hoping to get bitten and acquire some climbing superpowers 😂 Really appreciate your kind comment! ❤️ --E
Sketchy, spicy, windy, you two had it all on this climb. The first sign of winter's impending arrival is the bitter winds. Congratulations on your Kelso Ridge Traverse and summiting Torreys and Grays. Great video and I love the drone addition.
Thanks very much! You're so right about the winds, because they quickly got followed by that giant snow a few days later. Time for us to bug out for a warmer climate soon, though we might try one or two snowy climbs first. We're gonna miss Colorado!! ❤️
Thanks Jeff! We are right there with you -- there's nothing more fun than a great ridge traverse with big drops and gorgeous views on both sides! Glad you like the drone stuff -- we'll def do some more of that on future adventures where drones are allowed! ❤️
I watch a lot of your videos on my lunch hours dreaming of backpacking trips and back to the mountains in Colorado. Love the content. You guys deserve way more views. Keep it up!
You guys did great in those high winds! I got blown off Kelso ridge earlier this year with 50-55mph winds just before the knife edge and ended up down climbing the whole thing rather than risking the knife edge in those conditions. Ended up coming back on a perfect day later this year. Such a fun hike! Glad you enjoyed it!
Thanks Ariel, and good for you for turning around in those winds! That knife edge would definitely be too dangerous in high winds, and so glad you used your head and came back to enjoy it safely on a beautiful day. We absolutely love it, and are looking forward to lots more Colorado traverses in the future! ❤️
Thanks Robert! Yes this is a classic Colorado combo, and then adding in the ridge traverse to get up to Torreys makes it a real scrambling adventure too!
lolll ya'll are crazy! I did it the easy way and it was kind of boring-ly easy, but I ain't cut out for scrambling! Nice video, love the drone footage.
Haha Thaddee one day we're gonna take you with us on a ridge traverse and then you'll be addicted to them! Really glad you like the drone footage -- we had a great time adding that in, so will def do more of it in the future! ❤️
Thanks Brian! So glad it turned out well -- in person it was pretty darn spectacular, and we really recommend this one to you guys as a relatively safe but still exhilarating traverse! ❤️
Your videos capture how gnarly some of the climbs and scrambles are, but nothing can capture the altitude challenges. You can't see it, but oh boy can you feel it!
That is so true. Sometimes that altitude just bites you, especially above 13,000. But wow living at altitude the last few weeks has really helped. We felt pretty darn good on the last couple high ones, and going for another 14er tomorrow! ❤️
Haha yes it was a slightly awkward slide down off that formation, but do cool, right? There was also apparently a way around the side of that part, but we wanted to finish out the knife-edge strong! ❤️
Great hike, the drone footage is great, great views, just got back from climbing Lotus Flower Tower in the Cirque of the Unclimbables, a great adventure, we have weather coming in here at home
Larry that is freaking awesome!!! It must be freezing up there right now -- were your hands icicles while climbing? That place is definitely bucket list for us! ❤️
Thanks Stacie, that is fantastic to hear! We will for sure use the drone more in the future in places that allow it -- we really enjoyed getting that different perspective! ❤️
Impressive achievement! Twin peaks eh lol and in that brutal wind ! Loving your drone footage too and looking forwards to more. Brilliantly enjoyable and beautifully put together video.
Great, now you finally managed to plant that idea into my head to fly over there sometimes and do hikes. I have browsed the area to the north-west of Boulder online and it looks very interesting. I like the drone footage. Generally, your style of shooting is very enjoyable. Not the annoying, distorted POV action cam rubbish that many channels are torturing the viewers with.
We are so happy to hear that! You will not regret making the trip -- the climbs and hikes here are absolutely amazing, and many can be done year round like the winter hike up to sky pond we did last winter. You would love it! Glad you like our realistic style. We utterly refuse to use those insta360 fake lenses that make everything look way steeper than it is. Absolutely hate that stuff. Sometimes our cameras flatten it a bit too much, but they definitely never make it look fakely steep! ❤️
It was a total blast, Colby! Just a really fun traverse with steep drops but very little scary loose rock or anything like that. Basically enjoyable the whole way. Def looking forward to bringing some more drone action on future adventures! ❤️
Awesome video and the drone footage is like the icing on top 🙂What an incredible hike with stunning views. The next time I travel to Colorado I'll keep these in mind.
Yes! The Kelso ridge really makes it awesome. Torreys and Grays are classic peaks with great views, but the standard trails up and down aren't that interesting. But when you take the ridge line up to Torreys the whole thing becomes a full-on adventure. Highly recommend for next time you're here! ❤️
Nice! We attempted Wheeler Peak on Sunday, but wind chill around 0 and postholing in knee deep snow (while it was pouring snow), finally turned us around about halfway up. Made it to 11,500' though. Still a beautiful day!
Oh heck yes, you guys have some serious cojones going in the midst of a snowstorm! Pretty sure we got the same storm on Sunday here in Colorado. We had been planning to do a 14er (Quandary Peak), but moved it up a day to Saturday to avoid the snowfall, and it's a good thing because that was a heck of a blizzard. Even down here in Boulder our car was covered in snow, and in the mountains it was crazy. Very, very impressed you guys hiked up to 11,500 in that! ❤️
@LiveHardxLoveHard thanks! Yeah the snow storms are putting a damper on our plans to explore New Mexico. Probably just going to hunker down in Albuquerque Wednesday night through Friday, supposed to be a big storm coming in.
❤ GR8 VID ~ LOVED IT ❤ your camera 360 degree panoramic sweep views were terrific, reminded me of when I used to fly my twin-engine Cessna over high terrain and how stunning it was ❤
Amazing landscapes and a dramatic scramble. The drone definitely supplements in a positive way, especially (I thought) to underlining how small we are in relation to these massive, merciless mountains.
Good evening Elise.. So beautiful up there.. I cannot imagine these rocks formation being pushed up from Earth crust to 14000 feet up.. I cannot think of how much energy it could have took... Really awesome up there.. I am back from Cuba and back to work... Have a great evening Elise... 😘✌️🍷
Welcome back, Serge! Hope you had an awesome trip. Yes these peaks are incredibly impressive, and it really is amazing to think how they were shaped and formed. ❤️ --E
Uh oh - giving up vertical, hide the babies! You guys always do a great job with the views but the drone certainly adds a little something extra and showing how small we (I.e. you two) truly are compared to the grandiosity of nature. Thank you for adding it - it must be so much to wrangle with navigating those sketchy trails, being nervous for the safety of each other, and wrangling gear! It shows and is appreciated. ❤️💪🏼 🏔️
Thanks Lauren! We debated for a long time about adding a drone to the equation for all of these reasons, but we’ve been so happy to hear that a lot of you are liking the footage! Hoping to incorporate it more on any epic climb where it’s legal!
Thanks Guido! We're so happy to know you like the drone footage. We were happy with it too, and will for sure be using it more in the future in the places that allow it! ❤️
Awesome vlog as always guys, brilliant that you've now added drone footage also ! Watch the drone when eagles are on the thermals ! 🦅 Might swoop in talons first, thinking it's edible prey ! Quality smooth images, Elise obviously the pilot :) ☀️ 🗻 😻😽 🤍
Haha we didn't even think about birds, John -- we were so worried about losing the drone in the wind. Adam did let me fly the drone once, and within 4 seconds I crashed it into a tree. So he's in charge of flying it now 🙈😂 --E
😁 You'll soon get the hang of flying the drone E 🌲 Certain places around the 🌍 Major airports, military bases etc they have trained eagles to "bring down" drones ! Bird's in van, taken out by handler, hood removed & sent up. Game over ! 🦅 :)
The drone gives some great perspective (actually how small you are compared to the mountain). You say sketchy? I say no way!! Love the music at the 10' mark. Love you guys!
Haha ya this one was a piece of cake, Bob! Glad you like the drone footage -- looking forward to getting that thing up on some of those European via ferratas -- just us clinging to the face of the mountain! ❤️
We use the Salomon X-ultras -- we do have a climbing gear video you can check out where we talk about different footwear options, but it might also be time to do an updated one soon! ❤️
@ Yesyesyes, and thank you!!! Thanks so much for the reply, ive been watching you guys for a little over a year, incredible videos of my dreams for the future. God bless you two!!!😁❤️
Another great one, you guys! Nice editing, as usual, and great to see some drone perspective. Another of my favorite hikes, and, like Long's Peak, one I will have to revisit, after seeing your inspiring video! I'll just pick a slightly less windy day!🥶I had an interesting time on my hike, when I had to help a couple who were stuck in Dead Dog Couloir, after mistakenly trying to descend down there (not a good idea)!🤔
Oh my gosh Forrest those couloirs are gnarly! One day would love to try ski mountaineering one of them, though. Awesome that you went and helped the couple. And stoked that you like the drone POV! This really was a great hike, and one that we'd happily do over again as well. Pure fun all the way up to Torreys! ❤️
Thanks Kari! Yes that was definitely the challenge on the knife edge. There were good holds right on top, but the sides were super polished and slippery so we both took our time picking the right spots for our feet. ❤️
Wow - congratulations! Kelso Ridge is very spicy, no doubt about it! I also got lost a few times 🤣, definite challenges there as well. Great drone footage, sweet!!!
Thanks Paul! Very glad to know you got off route too. It looks from a distance like it should be simple navigation but until you get to the knife-edge it's actually kind of choose your own adventure in quite a few places! ❤️
@ Yea, I recognized some of the places I got lost in your video! 🤣. Awesome job on that knife edge, you and Elise made it look easy. Congratulations on a fine climb! 👏
ELISE and ADAM a hello from France. What a beautiful and difficult hike with an exceptional video editing, I loved the few drone images, which will allow you in the future incredible shots. I repeat myself, what a pleasure to hear the music and the voice of ELISE, which gives another dimension to the difficulty of this high-flying climb. I was scared when you rode the crest that looked like a giant shark fin that the wind did not hesitate to sweep away shamelessly. Kisses to you both. DAN
Dan thank you so much! I'm really happy you liked the drone footage and the musical accompaniment -- I had a great time editing that together, and it means a lot to me that you appreciate it! ❤️ --E
You guys are awesome PERIOD!!! The new drone is awesome too! Amazing shots and a whole new perspective. I hate those knife edge climbs though one wrong move either way if you know what I mean! 😱 I know next time just send the drone on up to the summit for a 360 view guys! Thanks so much for scaring being it’s Halloween! Love you guys!!! 👻🎃❤️
Haha Larry we didn't even think of that, but you're totally right -- Halloween is definitely the perfect time to post a scary ridge traverse! Stoked that you like the drone -- we're loving it so far. And don't worry about those knife edges. We're like Tom Cruise in the '80s on those things -- all the right moves! ❤️ --A
The wind seems to be relentless in CO. We vacationed there for two weeks in June and we just got windblown most of the time. We don't get consistent wind like that on the east coast 😀
Yes Jason, we've noticed this year has been especially windy for some reason. Maybe it's the same sort of climate shift that's causing the bigger hurricanes and rainstorms in the Southeast and it's just creating more wind out here in the west. ❤️
@LiveHardxLoveHard So Elise and Adam the "Peaks " on mountains really do get that narrow that you Practically got to Straddle the Mountain's they sound like a worthy adversary living entity! Much respect, thanks for the ride! Dean( Soul) Toronto
@@soulcontractor1641 Yes Dean, this one one really had to be straddled because the sides were so polished that the were really slippery and the drop was super long! A worthy adversary for sure! ❤
@LiveHardxLoveHard Elise, i guess there's not too many " Flattop Mountain's"! (lol) What was I thinking, i've never really seen the Mountain's! Visually Stunning Thanks Again! Dean(Soul)
Yay, can I ask some questions about these peaks? I am trying to convince my father to go on a trip to Colorado so we can get our dose of mountains. Kelso Ridge is probably gonna be too much for us, but do you think the peaks are worth the trip?
Yes Jonathan, the views from the peaks, especially Torreys, are spectacular. And if you just take the regular trail rather than the traverse it's a nice class 1 hike the whole way. I think your dad would enjoy it a lot. ❤️
This one was definitely my bad, Ellen. Adam got me an excellent pole quiver months ago that is identical to the one he's using here, but I misplaced it and got frustrated looking for it so just decided to carry the poles on this one. Of course it turned up the next day 🙈. But you'll note that when it got really gnarly on the knife edge I made him take the poles for me 😂 His fingers are so strong from climbing it didn't even faze him -- he just laughed and held the poles in three fingers and used the other two on the rock. ❤️ --E
It really is great, Steve! We loved it. And yes, I have a pole quiver exactly like Adam's, but I messed up and accidentally left it at home on this one 🙈 --E
Drone vids make 14ers even better. I have a ton of fun with my Air3 and it handles the wind very well. Be prepared to get some haters when you fly them. I keep my flights short when other people are around.
That's good advice Stephen, and we take it even one step further. We're basically not even going to fly it with other people around unless they give us the ok. It shouldn't be too much of an issue, because most of the routes we do there's no one around to even complain about it! ❤️
Thanks Mickey! The good thing about the ridge is there were always good holds so we could leave our gloves on. If we had had to go gloveless for grip then our hands would have frozen up there in a hurry! ❤️
@LiveHardxLoveHard Sounds like the functionality of the gloves is a very important thing to be aware of. Otherwise, what have we got. I climbed those mountains from the other side, going over Ruby Mountain. I didn't have any jelly beans to eat, though.
Hooray for drone footage! \o/ It looked great! (I was one of the advocates :) Wow, striking how little vegetation was in view on most of this trip. Maybe because these cliffs are fracturing and eroding so quickly? Cheers! -Liam
Thanks Liam! Very glad you liked the drone footage, and thanks for pushing us to do it. We liked how it turned out as well, and will for sure take it on future traverses. There's just not really any dirt up on those peaks for vegetation to grow in -- I guess that's why they're called the Rockies! ❤️
Spicey in a hurry. The drone is a big improvement. I used to have collapsible poles that you could push down to a third of their size making it possible to clip them on your daypack. Wonder if they still make those cause the poles looked sketch on that vertical stuff.
Yes I actually have a pole bag just like Adam, but accidentally left it behind on this one. No big deal though -- he took the poles for me whenever it got actually gnarly. ❤️
How do you train to do the hikes? I'm an avid hiker however due to my schedule, I'm on the mountain less and less. Just did part of the Colorado Trail last week and could see how out of shape I've become now that I can only hike a few times a month. Any recommendations would be appreciated.
Totally agree, Shaun! The lightness of the Atom is especially important for us because you know we like to go ultra-light, but we were really impressed at how well it handled the wind for being so small. Hope you're having a blast with yours! ❤️
Thanks so much! Thankfully we did not have to come back down the traverse -- there is just a nice normal trail down from Grays with great views the whole way, which was a lovely way to end the day. ❤️
Haha you know us well. We would have already been down there doing Capitol this month, but our friends graciously invited them to house-sit for them all month in Boulder so we're just doing stuff up here. Capitol Peak and Crestone are first up for us next season, though! ❤️
My husband and I are loving your Colorado videos ❤we live in the foothills and was just wondering what brand of hiking boots Elise is wearing on this adventure?
That makes us so happy to hear -- thank you! We love adventuring here, and although we're leaving soon with the snows coming in we'll be coming back very often. For hiking boots we both wear Salomon X-Ultras, and love them. Mine are the X-Ultra 360 Edge. ❤️ --E
We are just about to leave Colorado because the massive snowstorms have rolled in. We'll come back to Utah and California for a bit and then we're going to roll down to Costa Rica for some warm and beautiful adventuring!! ❤️
Thanks so much! And don't worry, we've definitely gotten good at these kinds of traverses, and promise we'll never bite off more than we can handle! ❤️
Oh heck yes! That is for sure one of the traverses on our list, along with Crestone and a few others. Now that the snow has come in, though, we might have to wait til next season for the really gnarly ones. ❤️
You drove right past my house to get to that trailhead. Starting to get pretty cold and snowy up here. Now you're ready for 4x 14ers in one day, the "Decalibron." Democrat, Lincoln, Bross, Cameron.
Yesss! We were reading about that one and debating if we should do it before we go - kinda a bummer about the Bross summit being not legal right now 🥲 going to monitor the snow sitch for the weekend nd hopefully do one more 14er before we leave!
@@LiveHardxLoveHard - Next 2 days look OK for weather. Quandary near Breckenridge, or Mt Elbert (the tallest 14er in CO), easy-peasy for you two, if you just want tag one.
At precisely 11:00 on your video, right in the center of the horizon, is another 14er that you'll want to add to your list - Mt of the Holy Cross. You probably also know that you can see Arapahoe Basin, Keystone and Breckenridge at that same time. (also my house on Lake Dillon) A-Basin and Keystone both open for skiing on Saturday, cause your legs aren't already tired from this climb ;-)
@@Summitspeedfly Good info, thank you! And you're reading our minds with the skiing. We've been waiting for Adam to early retire so we can learn ski mountaineering, and this is the year we're starting. Will prob spend a month or so in Tahoe around January to get some practice reps in. ❤
Yes it's totally my fault -- Adam got me a pole quiver exactly like the one he's using here but I misplaced it. Of course then I found it the very next day after this hike, so I'll of course be using it in the future! ❤️ --E
Going Blanco and neighbor maybe 3. Williamson/Tyndall. Palisades double. Possibly. Maybe. Poor Adam, legs scrunched up in back of Subaru. 110 inches. Suburban. Oink 🐷.
Another epic knife edge ridge. Kind of reminds me of your Mount Russell feature. Once again, your climbing skills prevail! Speaking of knife edge, see if you remember this tune, which surely applies... ua-cam.com/video/TQQdYokbp4E/v-deo.htmlsi=D7pNPc1VQekdyVUI
Avi you know us well! We were actually going to do Capitol the weekend right after Aspen but then we got the opportunity to house sit for our friends up in Boulder so of course we had to take it. But next season, Capitol is at the very top of our list along with the Crestone Traverse! ❤️
Haha that is good to hear! We really like taking you guys along on the adventure with us, so always hope the camera will convey as close as possible to what it's actually like! ❤️

Thanks Gerard! We're having so much fun showing you these Colorado adventures -- we're planning at least two more 14,000 foot peaks if we can get them in before the snow comes! ❤️
To climb one 14ker would be a once in a lifetime adventure! You did two in one day!
These would actually be great ones to start with if you get interested in 14ers. The regular trails up and down are not technical at all so you can just focus on dealing with the altitude -- and the views from both peaks are amazing! ❤️
One of my favorite 14er peaks. I have done these half dozen times when I was younger. Love the terrain! Fun late spring with the snow fields skiing!
One of my favorite videos you have ever done.
Thanks Dan! Much love to you!!! ❤️
@@LiveHardxLoveHard I hope you both will come back soon.❤
What amazing video guys! special moment at 9:14 Wow!
Thanks so much, Miguel! We loved hiking, filming and editing this one -- super glad you enjoyed it! ❤️
Ridge running and traversing is one of my favorite things! That knife edge was indeed dicey! Love the drone footage added in as well! You two rock!
Thanks Jeff! We are right there with you -- there's nothing more fun than a great ridge traverse with big drops and gorgeous views on both sides! Glad you like the drone stuff -- we'll def do some more of that on future adventures where drones are allowed! ❤️
WoW looks so cool and like the drone :)
Thanks Tony that is great to hear! We'll definitely do more drone footage in the future when we're in places that allow it! ❤️
Making my palms sweat watching you along the ridges! The drone is a great addition!
Thanks you -- so glad you like the drone footage! Definitely more of that coming in future episodes, especially in cool places like this! ❤️
I watch a lot of your videos on my lunch hours dreaming of backpacking trips and back to the mountains in Colorado. Love the content. You guys deserve way more views. Keep it up!
Thanks so much, Greg -- that is great to hear! We will definitely keep it up, and have lots more fun adventures coming up! ❤️
You guys are gonna sleep like babies after that hike. Great job.
You're right about that, Ted! We don't always sleep well before doing a traverse, but we always sleep great after!! ❤️
An excellent addition of drone footage!☺
Thanks very much -- so glad you liked it! ❤️
Views were absolutely stunning
So glad they came through on camera! In person they were breathtaking. Colorado really has the views!! ❤️
Wow...another amazing trek...a twofer! Rock on.
Thanks Robert! Yes this is a classic Colorado combo, and then adding in the ridge traverse to get up to Torreys makes it a real scrambling adventure too!
❤ Great work with the drone. Very nice addition...
Thanks so much, Jean! We're definitely looking forward to incorporating the drone again future climbs and traverses! ❤️
lolll ya'll are crazy!
Epic footage!
@ oh wow! You are definitely acclimated. How did it go today?
"are we going to make it down to the other side?" Elise way off in the distance...I faintly hear "I don't know" haha
Haha yes it was a slightly awkward slide down off that formation, but do cool, right? There was also apparently a way around the side of that part, but we wanted to finish out the knife-edge strong! ❤️
@ well it wouldn’t be live hard love hard if you took the easy way. You barely stay on a trail before adventuring out on your own😊
Great hike, the drone footage is great, great views, just got back from climbing Lotus Flower Tower in the Cirque of the Unclimbables, a great adventure, we have weather coming in here at home
Larry that is freaking awesome!!! It must be freezing up there right now -- were your hands icicles while climbing? That place is definitely bucket list for us! ❤️
Yes it was cold , my hands stay pretty warm for some reason, anyway , yes it's an amazing place, stay warm winter is on the way !
Cool hike guys....another Colorado classic....usually a first Double bag 14er for people just getting started. Awesome job!
Thanks Moises! Ya we def knew we had to do these two classic peaks, and the ridge traverse made it super fun. Colorado hiking at its best! ❤️
Beautiful video, love watching you guys! Love the drone!
Thanks Stacie, that is fantastic to hear! We will for sure use the drone more in the future in places that allow it -- we really enjoyed getting that different perspective! ❤️
Fantastic as always, ciao !!! 🙂
Thanks Petr -- so happy you enjoyed it! Ciao! ❤️
Impressive achievement! Twin peaks eh lol and in that brutal wind ! Loving your drone footage too and looking forwards to more. Brilliantly enjoyable and beautifully put together video.
Thanks Jules! We had a great time editing this one with all the different angles, and really happy you enjoyed it! ❤️
That was amazing! Looked like a lot of fun. The drone footage will add a nice bit of perspective to your adventures, when conditions allow
❤ GR8 VID ~ LOVED IT ❤ your camera 360 degree panoramic sweep views were terrific, reminded me of when I used to fly my twin-engine Cessna over high terrain and how stunning it was ❤
Thanks David! That is so freaking cool that you could fly over this kind of stuff. It must look absolutely incredible from even higher up! ❤️
Amazing landscapes and a dramatic scramble. The drone definitely supplements in a positive way, especially (I thought) to underlining how small we are in relation to these massive, merciless mountains.
Thanks Catherine. Very glad you like the drone footage, and love the alliteration of massive, merciless mountains! 🏔️❤️ --A
Thanks!
We really appreciate it, Paul -- thank you! 🙏❤️
YIKES 😮 thought your drone was going to go off course with a crazy horrible wind
Haha you and us both, Andrea! Adam was super nervous about doing it but that little drone was a trooper, and he flew it like a pro. ❤️
AS ALWAYS YOU 2 ARE AMAZING WILD FIT IN OVERDRIVE. LOVE THE DRONE FOOTAGE
Thanks Guido! We're so happy to know you like the drone footage. We were happy with it too, and will for sure be using it more in the future in the places that allow it! ❤️
Please make some footage of the approach and trailhead to the ridge really helps to tie the story line together.
Awesome footage and climbing.
Sure we'll be happy to add some more approach -- as long as it's not too dark to shoot it! ❤️
Drone footage is great
Thank you! Now that we've seen what it can do, we're really looking forward to doing more drone stuff in the future! ❤️
Awesome vlog as always guys, brilliant that you've now added drone footage also !
Watch the drone when eagles are on the thermals ! 🦅
Might swoop in talons first, thinking it's edible prey !
Quality smooth images, Elise obviously the pilot :)
☀️
🗻 😻😽 🤍
Haha we didn't even think about birds, John -- we were so worried about losing the drone in the wind. Adam did let me fly the drone once, and within 4 seconds I crashed it into a tree. So he's in charge of flying it now 🙈😂 --E
😁 You'll soon get the hang of flying the drone E 🌲
Certain places around the 🌍
Major airports, military bases etc
they have trained eagles to "bring down" drones ! Bird's in van, taken out by handler, hood removed & sent up.
Game over ! 🦅 :)
U guys always make my feet tingle
Haha that is what we like to hear! ❤️
What hiking boots do you guys use? Could you please make a video about them and maybe other favorite boots for hiking if you have any? Thanks!
@@LiveHardxLoveHard So cool-I haven't done one, but a lot of the couloirs make great alternate routes in the spring when the snow is safe.
Badass idea on the drone! Those knife peaks looked difficult as far as which side was safe to put your feet!😬
Thanks Kari! Yes that was definitely the challenge on the knife edge. There were good holds right on top, but the sides were super polished and slippery so we both took our time picking the right spots for our feet. ❤️
Nice video, you guys are nuts, thanks
Haha thanks Allen -- love sharing these edgy ones with you!
Ahhh, making me want to hit some 14ers. We have nothing at that elevation around Alberta but I'm planning a trip next season
Yes!! That's what we love to hear -- please let us know which ones you get up to!! ❤️
DAN
@@LiveHardxLoveHard Hey! Elise has all the right moves, you Adam not so much! 😀 Be safe guys!
@@larrywheeler9797 😂
The drone shots were pretty amazing. The next 14 should be the Tetons also it's like you can touch the clouds and turn into an angel fly away
Yes! We are super psyched about doing the Tetons -- top of our list for summer climbing season! ❤️
Adam and Elise, you Guy's are my "Favorite Couple" now! Gnarly I'll say Sketchy! Dean (Soul) Toronto
Thanks Dean -- heck yes, gnarly and sketchy both!! ❤️
@LiveHardxLoveHard So Elise and Adam the "Peaks " on mountains really do get that narrow that you Practically got to Straddle the Mountain's they sound like a
worthy adversary living entity! Much respect, thanks for the ride! Dean( Soul) Toronto
@@soulcontractor1641 Yes Dean, this one one really had to be straddled because the sides were so polished that the were really slippery and the drop was super long! A worthy adversary for sure! ❤
@LiveHardxLoveHard Elise, i guess there's not too many
" Flattop Mountain's"!
@@LiveHardxLoveHard Thank you!
Have you considered a pack where you can attach the poles? Granted they're not running packs.
Kelso Ridge is great. The most mountain fun you ca have so close to Denver! BTW... stow your poles! It will make class 3 much easier.
The drone footage looked good. I don't know how you do that Kelso Ridge in that wind and cold.
Thanks Mickey! The good thing about the ridge is there were always good holds so we could leave our gloves on. If we had had to go gloveless for grip then our hands would have frozen up there in a hurry! ❤️
@LiveHardxLoveHard
Sounds like the functionality of the gloves is a very important thing to be aware of.
Kim we've got you covered! We've got a bunch of videos in the "How we train" section of the channel -- check them out!! ❤️
You are amazing!!
Thank you so much! This was a super fun one!! ❤️
Great job!!!!
Thanks Phil! We loved this one, and definitely recommend it to you guys as well! ❤️
Nice, ive got the potensic atom, its a great little drone at a great price
Totally agree, Shaun! The lightness of the Atom is especially important for us because you know we like to go ultra-light, but we were really impressed at how well it handled the wind for being so small. Hope you're having a blast with yours! ❤️
I just read the drone information , it's funny because I thought you'd said Potensic Adam drone and not Atom lol 😆
Haha well after he managed to fly that thing and then land it in those winds, maybe we should call it the Adam after all 😂
Wooowww !! What a climb, the wind made it super sketchy of course 😱 Great adventure you two, Did you come down the same way?
Thanks so much! Thankfully we did not have to come back down the traverse -- there is just a nice normal trail down from Grays with great views the whole way, which was a lovely way to end the day. ❤️
@@LiveHardxLoveHardgood to know
Thanks 🙏
The rigde on the introduction first made think that you ahd been going to capitol peak.
@@LiveHardxLoveHard Thanks!
Well where you two holding up . winter is coming in the west yes .🤔
We are just about to leave Colorado because the massive snowstorms have rolled in. We'll come back to Utah and California for a bit and then we're going to roll down to Costa Rica for some warm and beautiful adventuring!! ❤️
That was some adventurous, risky climbing. Knowing you made it back allows me to comfortably watch it., otherwise, I'd be worried the whole time.
Thanks so much! And don't worry, we've definitely gotten good at these kinds of traverses, and promise we'll never bite off more than we can handle! ❤️
Harvard/Columbia traverse next?
@@mountainflyhigh Quandary with snow could be a lot of fun and really pretty -- great suggestion, and we might well do it!

Elise, put your poles away when you’re scrambling!
Yes it's totally my fault -- Adam got me a pole quiver exactly like the one he's using here but I misplaced it. Of course then I found it the very next day after this hike, so I'll of course be using it in the future! ❤️ --E
Going Blanco and neighbor maybe 3.

Avi you know us well! We were actually going to do Capitol the weekend right after Aspen but then we got the opportunity to house sit for our friends up in Boulder so of course we had to take it. But next season, Capitol is at the very top of our list along with the Crestone Traverse! ❤️
Nooooo. It looks steep on camera 😱
Haha thank goodness! This one was SO cool in person, and we were really hoping the camera would capture how awesome the ridge was! ❤️
