I honestly never minded the blocky artstyle. In fact, I kinda felt like that was its strength rather than its weakness. It helps it stand out and give itself a really dissonant atmosphere. [Makes sense, right?]

Edit: found out the show is called pecola! Took a little hunting on Google! Letting people know incase anyone else got that nostalgia feeling and were having trouble remembering the name of the show the artstyle reminded them of....

@@zozupskystar8639 this video game is based off of the 1999 anime gregory horror show and was made by the same creative director as pecola, which is why it has the same art style. if you like thia game i 100% recommend the anime. there are 4 seasons and all of it is available on youtube :>
the creators name is naomi iwata, if you were wondering. he has more work in this same artstyle, like the super obscure kids anime midnight horror school that never got an english release. 15 or so episodes had unofficial fanmade english translated subtitles years back but the youtube channel was deleted and now only one episode remains with subtitles, and nobody has ever gone back to subtitle them again. its a real shame, i went back to rewatch a month or so ago around the time i replied after not watching in years and now theyre all gone. the episodes are easy enough to follow because its a kids show so the stories are fairly simple and the characters convey emotion well for the sake of little kids that dont understand all the words yet and stuff like that but man its not the same without the subtitles. a dream of mine is to someday hire a translator/translation team to translate the series and get an english subtitle version again
I didn't thought that a kids game will have serious themes and blood, but i'm glad this one has it. It's more creepy this way, glad someone on discord recomended it to me.
The Hell's Chef and Master Clock events are kinda my favorite. They just seem to be better than when a monster just willy nilly finds ya in the halls and chases ya for no reason. (I'll let Catherine slide cuz of her obsession for blood) Edit: Nvm Disregard what I said- I found out the monsters chase you cuz they tryna get their souls back-
