  • Our favorite scammers in Miami have struck again, this time with a 2022 Acura MDX with the technology package. They have tried some new tactics (I guess they learned from the HRV debacle.) They have successfully managed to turn a repairable vehicle into a parts car. Congratulations!

It definitely looks like they used this car for parts to repair another car and then put the damaged parts from the other car back on this one.

That’s the way I see it. Make it worse on one side and slightly better on the other and think you will get your money back. “That’s a bold strategy Cotton, let’s see if it pays off for him!”

Crazy the spectrum in the auto repair industry. Take yourself for example producing quality repaired cars I would be comfortable putting my family in. And then we have the other end of the spectrum which I’m concerned share the roads with my family. Scary stuff indeed.

Great video Scott. I feel sorry for car flippers who are not subscribed to your channel. They could save from being ripped off. My best guess is they pilfered the parts from this car and put them on another and then reinstalled the takeoff parts from the car they fixed, and I use the term lightly. Now you have an abomination on 4 wheels. I’d run from this one as fast as I could. All the best Scott!

That was not a wheel placed in the car. It was the Front bumper placed in the car by the wrecker. That is what caused the impression on the seat and the damage to the back of the passenger seat. That bumper has sharp edges and had to be bent to place it in the car.

    • @vehcor

I was almost with you on the parts swapout, especially since the mirror holding part changed color and everything (auggesting the door to which the mirror belongs comes from a different car. However, the damage on the rocker/sill/whatever the part below the doors is called (not a native english speaker) is also damaged and that damage is seemingly consistent with the damage on the doors. Then it appears that the plastic bit with the tweeter is missing so my theory is that they did in fact damaged it and then doctored that up with another mirror. Somehow. It'd be uncharacteristic for them to spend money (windshield) while making actual use of the good parts. Anyway, interesting video as ALWAYS, keep it up!

On my first watch it seemed like they had also swapped the hood as it did not look damaged on the original listeing but is now damaged on the resale listing.

I know few stories when some bought 2 junk audi, the same type, use all the good parts from both to make 1st "good" car for him and put rest absolute junk to the 2nd car and sell it, because everyone wanted cheap audi at those times.

They bought it and something happened in the yard would be my guess, hit it with a large forklift or some other thing as it has transmission damage and with that and a parking rock I doubt it moves on it's own. They probably bought it to fix it up hoping to make a few bucks, damaged it in the yard and now just trying to get rid of it, I bet this will sell on it's first listing no matter the bid, I bet they just want it gone so if you need a parts car with no good panels, drivetrain or air bags, this is the vehicle for you.
