Once upon a time cars that got crushed did look knackered. Now they look almost like new. That's because of the quality of steel they use which is improved. It's the technology in more up to date cars that finishes them. Once it fails it's much cheaper scrapping than fixing.

Scrapping cars with useful life left is the very worst thing for the environment! Many cars are scrapped because nobody wants 'old junk'. Give me an old car any day.

Many modern cars are too hitech to be repaired economically. True planned obsolesecnce.
The first 2.5 minutes are the way cars should be scrapped. A FAR bigger scrap take than just crushing it.

This makes sense in places like South Korea, as recycling the whole car, at once, you minimize the chance that it will end up smuggled into North Korea as a functional car.

@@greenbudkelly2820 More efficient how? True they are nicer looking and more luxurious in most cases, but most gas cars barely have better fuel efficiency than 90's cars. Maybe like 3 or 4 miles difference depending on the engine.

you do not understand the complete process. ferrous metals are separated by using magnets - plastics and lighter materials are separated by using compressed

There are starving broke people down in South Africa that drive total junk so worn out the coil springs are shattered in her pieces just banging around in the fender Wells and you're shredding cars with good suspension? Is that a nice thing? Someday if ever I'm a billionaire I'm going to have cars manufactured out of the same metal as the blades that shred cars including the engine most importantly and then someday as the engines will probably take forever to wear out one of those cars make it to one of these shredding machines and the Machine starts jumping around and smoke everywhere in a thing catches on fire and they put it out and they extract the car it was attempting to shred and they're scratching their heads like what happened and it's destroyed our multi-million dollar machine metallurgist examine pieces of the car it was trying to shred only to find it's been made out of the same metal as the shredding machine and that the engine block just totally snapped the cogs in half in the shredding machine. One cars of Vengeance at the destruction of all its sisters and brothers to destroy the shredding machine. That poor guy at the junkyard looking for a tail light that fits a 35-year-old car and they're all gone because of someone's greed forcing people to buy newer more dangerous crumple Zone caskets they call environmentally safe and then they put flammable freon in the air conditioning and home refrigerators with butane is Freon it'll blow up your house all in the name of the environment be afraid of new products they're deadly dangerous

What a waste of perfectly good cars as always we waste everything look at India they waste nothing these cars have a lot of life left in them not all of them but the majority of them could stay on the roads for along time but it’s down to the usual environmental crap we keep hearing about
