Wow! . It's insane how professional you look in every venue or video. I mean you do look beautiful in those gorgeous sarees and indian dresses but also the cinematics shots and voice over in videos and the body language and all other minute things while interacting makes you the way you are just perfect . Honestly this video topic was something we unexpectedly expected, I mean its a serious topic to be considered and I loved your views and experiences. Everything has its flaws but it matters how we deal with it . India is still growing and who know in near future we might be the best out there .
Not many creators or people in general give such clear and unbiased opinions about the topics like this .

Actually as a state we're little extra paranoid each and every decision weather it's forign policy or economic policy is calculated many times like Netherlands is a nato country. India maintains strategic independence so Netherlands can afford to be reckless sometimes on other hand we can not here thinking is take time while taking decisions and avoid as many mistakes possible so it also reflects In our bureaucracy regarding business

Excellent observation and comparison. Appreciate your efforts for this work. India definitely needs to be more professional now. We gotta catch up the world trend as we are making more impact on world economy. To make India USD 5 trillion economy, Indians need to adopt Atmnirbhar Bharat idea and start producing own stuff here in India to be slef-reliant. These entrepreneurship videos adds up the value to individuals who look forward to grow and make their business competitive.
Bureaucratic hurdles must go away and digitization is helping in this. From 1947 to 2022 India changed greatly and we expect further positive transformation in our work culture, bureaucracy and society over all.

Things I have noticed. In India it makes much more sense to work through agents instead of going direct, as there is an assumption you will support the agents. You really can negotiate the agent fees to almost nothing. The other thing I find is a gross oversimplification of the steps, so invariably things get left out until the last minute and everyone has to scramble. It's part of the way people like to work but can be stressful if not used to it. I think part of the reason is that if stuff is missing at the last moment people will let things slide and the approval is obtained with less steps.
I am only familiar with south India and it is likely different elsewhere.

Ghosting is definitely not a great practice. I don't know why people do that (including me in the past 😬). But I think telling the other person/party that priorities are different is better. Also if the work is not as per expectations, an honest feedback will help. I personally tell the other party to come back when they feel more prepared and expect the same from people. Infact, even service providers are so wary of sharing honest feedback to clients (for obvious reasons). I literally tell my service providers that i take criticism well, please feel free to share your opinion, you don't have to agree to everything I say.
It's always better to have clarity, although its not a practice i see. But hopefully we will get there someday .

    • @anitabaranwal2904

Your observation about negotiation is sooo bang on... I personally hate it so i don't negotiate often I calculate is the product worth my time, if i yes I give it a shot (my husband has a lot of patience though) else i just move on. When it comes to business just say a value that I think is appropriate if the other party agrees we work else again i just move on, minor adjustments can ofcourse always be made but i do not spend too much time. And if it's someone unaffordable I tell them that I don't have the budget hopefully one day I will have and I will get back.

Indian business ethics is professional and services prvided takes priority over profits. In the West the only thing that matters is profits. Service is appaling. Negotiation is good that is why all Indians can survive. I dislike the Western way of being Rigid and non negotiable. Hard to survive in the West due to rigidness. Definitely India , Singapore, the M.E has more brownie points as none of these countries take providing a service with a rigid mind set. Hope I am not putting a damper on your vlog and you are open to opinions.

The practice of asking second and third set of documents and prolonging decision making is terribly irritating to most modern minded Indians as well. Unfortunately, this has come to us from the days of the British rule and we have not been good about getting rid of inefficient and ineffective practices. So, if these practices irritate and trouble you, we totally understand :)- We Indians agree that bureaucracy in India has some ways to go to become service-oriented, efficient, and effective.

Hey Ivana, it's a great observation on the business culture... I got 'offended' once I met my colleague from Netherlands when I was in Belgium, where he openly on the face told me something which I wouldn't dare to even utter . I thought he's an insane guy with high ego ... I never talked to him again .
Indians on the otherhand, wouldn't hurt people and try to convey the message in a more subtle way ... I found this attitude was more 'rude' than 'direct' ...I definitely don't appreciate such people.

Hey Ivana. Amazing insights. Yes, Indians do ghost more frequently than they should. However, I can't tolerate being ghosted. You're admiringly understanding as a person, but I have sort of become impatient with that attitude of ghosting. I mean, it's disrespectful. I have begun to become non-responsive to people who ghost me and then they get back when they feel like, because it's just unprofessional. Where's the honour in having make someone wait and waste their already time-crunched schedule? Because of your video, I being an Indian got to know about this unspoken rule of ghosting, so thank you so much. I guess I take ghosting personally because when I want to conclude something, I tell it upfront. Love your videos ❤️ 🌸👍🏻

Your opinion will enhance few more points in future and the same opinion will also experience different variants. So relax, some part of India is also like Netherland, which you will experience later, since the business is in the bootstrap level so things may vary.
And that person who gave you rude reply is because you were trying to indulge her in lunch or dinner or some kind of meeting like that, to end up in signing a contract, so the client or that person thought that you are taking so much interest than it is required.
Because you will also be judged by the self-respect you have for yourself, don't be available always. The way of approaching after first time is just projecting your improvement and showing your presence in market. Or sometimes the low budget clients try to be very clear to avoid repetitive approach by service provider.
