    Good Job Blake. Very good tips for people that are not familiar with snatch blocks and loading and unloading cars off a trailer. I agree with you I like chaining a car/truck to the trailer by the frame rather than the tire straps seems like they move around and bounce more with the tire straps. Have a great weekend. God Bless!!!

      nashguy207 The suspension is free riding if the vehicle is only secured at the wheels.

    If the brakes or e brakes dont work I would use a second winch to control the descent offloading the car. Last thing we need is a freerolling car get enough momentum to crash into people or property. Awesome video. Love that you use multiple snatchblock to route the cable away from car. I too love my mini clusters, have one each reel on my wrecker. They save me valuable time on recoveries by many minutes. I carry extra clusters for my personal rigs too with winches.

    Blake as I am sure you already know, you could reposition that rear snatch block with the hook with a chain. You could also replace the hook with a chain, although personally you can never have too many snatch blocks or chains!

      I could have, I just didn’t feel like setting it up.

      Guy in WY i knew you knew and understand not wanting to take the time to set it up, but someone out there will not realize it and think it can not be done. Have a great day!

    Mount some 1/2" diameter steel "D" rings on the front and back of the trailer. Never have too many mounted if you move any type of equipment.
    Got a few miles on the new ram: liking it so far?

    Did you do this cable method mainly so you could show folks how something like that is done? Because it seems like you could have pretty easily just put the SUV in neutral and got it rolling backwards by hand with the way the trailer was sitting and saved all the extra setup work.

    @guyinwy if I sent you a picture of the winch attach set up on a trailer I bought, would you be able to help me figure out how to and the best type of winch to install on my gooseneck flatbed?

    I meant to comment on one of the last videos but never did. Any way on the back seat of an 09 chevy you could take the seat loose and cut the hook thats on the seat shorter so that when it goes up it would release itself so that the back would then fold down instead of putting blocks under the seat. Hope I experience explained this good enough. If not the procedure should be on the duramax forum.

    90 model 4 Runner. Problematic head gasket failure on the drivers side head due to Toyota having a brain fart on the exhaust crossover being behind the block and ying behind the drivers side head which translates in heat soak. How do I know this? I owned a 95 runner with the 3.0 which I loved but after the third headgasket failure it left my life like your New Holland tractor left your life. It now has a new owner who did the headgasket again and put headers on it and has driven it another 70.000 miles without a failure. I could not get 30.000 max out of a driver's side headgasket. The passenger side never failed. Wish I had it back.

    Would this method work for a car with no brakes? Also if the car rolled too far back wouldn't it yank on the winch too much?

    To use the snatch block with a chain you will need key holes in the bed.

    • @coypatton3160
      @coypatton3160 6 років тому +1

      Charles Kettering you can always run you chain to the stake pockets on the outside of the bed of the trailer. A loop through the stake pocket and hooked to the chain will control the length of your chain and placement of the snatch block. Keyholes are very nice, but there are ways to work around not having them.

      Charles Kettering: I'm guessing most people who work with heavy loads know how to use pulleys, winches, block & tackle, ropes/chains, etc. You go back to the 80's. For me, I go back as a kid to the 1940's growing up on a dairy farm and sawmill/logging operation where my grandfather often used these tools. Back then I became fascinated with this stuff, still am...
