One of my best friends just died of a random act of gun violence, he said this was his favorite song shortly before, life’s crazy. Hold your loved ones longer. Rip Ethan Williams
I'm an American who moved to another country a few years ago. I've loved Black Marble for a while now as I've grown and changed in a new, uncomfortable environment. One day, I decided to see if they had any music videos on here and found this clip. As I watched it for the first time, I felt so much strong nostalgia. It felt almost too familiar. And of course I broke down when I saw at the end that this had been filmed in Mississippi, my home state. Occasionally, the universe, no matter what's going on in your life at the moment, decides to send you an unexpected message, and I think that this was one of them. This video captured some of the most iconic aspects of growing up in the South that can't quite be expressed so well in any other way, so as a result, it's one of my all-time favorites. Thank you so much for your beautiful music and this video. :)
as much as i try to pretend i’m not a fan of southern roots this video really brings me back to going to the county fair and just smelling a combination of funnel cakes, firework smoke, and cigarettes and being surrounded by a bunch of happy families and friends waiting in line to go on the zero gravity spinner ride. people can say the south is a place of racism and ugly accents but they don’t get to see just how warm and welcoming most people usually are. thanks black marble.
After watching this a few times now, gotta be honest; this is the most beautiful music video I think I've seen personally. Black Marble is something else
calling it now since every single so far has been beautiful - this will be the definitive album! just like the third studio album should be! the songs so far have been in your face, not so underwater as the past material (which i love!) - this feels more "indie-ish" and i mean it in the best possible way! like a practice in new order songs! bigger than life!
dont even remember when i stumbled onto black marble but i have intense memories of playing his music as i studied for my A levels. always a comfort sound
I was going through my phone and there was a screenshot of this video from 4 years ago. I guess maybe I’d watched this drunk or high but wanted to remember this. So here I am now and I’m so glad to be here.
Everybody's on their way to heaven Everybody's gotta die to get there Everybody knows The only way to go is to set up a private show Everybody lies to stay together Still, everybody tries to stay together Meet me on the road' the only thing I know I've gotta take for us to go 'Cause I'd rather not drive 'Cause it's been a thousand years since I last tried And I'd rather not sleep 'Cause I know that I'll have fevers in my dreams Everybody's waiting on the weather Trying to set up a private show Waiting on the sun Driving to the Pilot for their candy and their guns Everybody wants to keep the lights on But everybody doesn't have a choice Everybody knows The bus to Hampton Roads is where you're gonna lose your voice 'Cause I'd rather not drive 'Cause it's been a thousand years since I last tried And I'd rather not sleep 'Cause I know that I'll just see you in my dreams And I'll see you at my' see you at my show And the more that I know The more I can control And I'll see you in shimmering light Saying "Hey little mountains"- I finally found you I'm finally alone Come on' let's go
"I've gotta take for us to go" I think it's "I've gotta take the bus to go" I'm not saying you're wrong, but this way makes more sense to me considering the hook and the "Hampton bus" lyric the next time around.
I love how out of place Chris looks with his synthesizer in the middle of this rodeo festival. How I feel everyday living in a small town being into this type of music.
Nothing wrong with being from a small town. It's taken for granted these days. And more special than being from a giant rootless cosmopolitan shit hole. People from small towns are wonderful and more rooted to the sun and soil. Cherish it. Fuck the cities
I grew up in the 80's. So, I have never been a fan of bands that sound like...or the Tarantino DJ generation. However, like the ghost Box label, Sacred Bones have an ear for amazing bands! This band are stone cold killer! It's gorgeous and pulls at your heart and soul. I am a Brit from North Shields living in NY. Music is boundary less and lives in every cell and fibre of your being. Maybe more than books and films. It's such a direct uncut link to our past existence. Powerful! I need to buy some BLACK MARBLE.
As a non-american who has never been to the USA, this is still an amazing Video. I can feel every moment of it. Slavoj Zizek once said, that film is more real than reality and even though it's just a music video I think this is how I would describe it as well
@Daniel Fabian this sort of culture has its positives and negatives. The homophobia, sexism, patriotism, and religious overtones to everything can be suffocating if you dont identify with it.

I am so sorry for your loss. Hope you are doing better.
Thanks, to share this.
he was a good man. good is an understatement.
This song is amazing, my condolences friend.
Sorry for your loss man.

Nice words. Nostalgia is everywhere in Black Marble music.
Will Chamblee this hits home. So humble. ❤️🤠
Music is extremely powerful in amazing ways.

This got me on the verge of tears.

@@guyswheresthemusik258 it's okay bud
this song gives me a melancholy feel like I've been there
Everyone saying that kinda bullshit
I have a feeling that this is going to be a very cozy album

thank you for existing
The nostalgia and longing this song creates is amazing
Easily my favorite music video of all time accompanying an amazing song
beautiful. crying. 😊 laying in bed knowing i’m gunna be dancing to the album for years to come.
Great video.
Makes me homesick for a place I'm not even sure exists.
Texas?
Yeah that place exists.
lol oh, it exist alright.
I think this Welsh word fits the bill for your sentiment: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hiraeth
You prolly homesick to a place u dream about. But consciously can't remember. Cuz I relate to this feeling. And it's my only guess
Hail the Coming Imperium
What a weird life we live!
Sincerely, nostalgia hurts, but in a good way. Human thoughts can be really illusory, but nostalgia make them feel real in a way of true.
After watching this a few times now, gotta be honest; this is the most beautiful music video I think I've seen personally. Black Marble is something else
same. its pretty artsy.
Tambien en bolivia lo amamos 💖🇧🇴
I concur they are like what Terence bud Crawford is to boxing but in modern fresh music

Took the words out of everyone's mouth. Can't wait

We need more indie clubs.
it’s so odd because i feel like BM’s old music was more “indie” & I feel like this album was 10x more New Wave than the other stuff!!
This made me cry. This was beautiful.
I used to teach in Mississippi. Been to the Philadelphia fair too. And saw black marble in NC.
OH BOI, THAT BASSLINE.
ALL THAT I WANTED
Pliska facts!!!!!🤯🤯🤯
three weeks left before my black marble overdose
it's gonna be okay x
Are you dead yet?
@@mankuro yes
Yo i just saw your comment on “Trip to Lake 4”
@jack daniel I wish the nostalgia rang in as a place rather than a thing of that makes any sense? This album is very refreshing for me
so emotionally in love with every song so far poetically hypnotized
something about this video's so hypnotizing

the mega serotonin boost this gave me made me cry
this deserves 10 million views
Straight up song of the year for me. Also one of the most brilliant videos I’ve seen in a minute.
This song woke me up out of my ppd. Almost a year 2 years later from it all and I couldn’t be happier to still be here ♥️♥️🥹🥹
Everybody's on their way to heaven
Everybody's gotta die to get there
Everybody knows
The only way to go is to set up a private show
Everybody lies to stay together
Still, everybody tries to stay together
Meet me on the road' the only thing I know
I've gotta take for us to go
'Cause I'd rather not drive
'Cause it's been a thousand years since I last tried
And I'd rather not sleep
'Cause I know that I'll have fevers in my dreams
Everybody's waiting on the weather
Trying to set up a private show
Waiting on the sun
Driving to the Pilot for their candy and their guns
Everybody wants to keep the lights on
But everybody doesn't have a choice
Everybody knows
The bus to Hampton Roads is where you're gonna lose your voice
'Cause I'd rather not drive
'Cause it's been a thousand years since I last tried
And I'd rather not sleep
'Cause I know that I'll just see you in my dreams
And I'll see you at my' see you at my show
And the more that I know
The more I can control
And I'll see you in shimmering light
Saying "Hey little mountains"- I finally found you
I'm finally alone
Come on' let's go
"I've gotta take for us to go"
I think it's
"I've gotta take the bus to go"
I'm not saying you're wrong, but this way makes more sense to me considering the hook and the "Hampton bus" lyric the next time around.
Jesus Christ this is a beautiful video.
ok this video is amazing

Right? I, too, live in a small town - predominantly country music. I drive around blaring this type of music. The looks I get...lol
This is literally LA now.. kinda sad
You'll grow out of that town. It's gonna be ok.
Play your cards right and you’ll feel that way in the big city too.

What a great depiction of pure Americana. Something that doesn't get captured all too often anymore
This song is always going to remind me of the trip I had to Colorado with my sweet sunkiss.

Extremely nostalgic for me. And this isn’t even my type of scene.
You can be in more than one faction:>
Plus scenes aren't even real. ❤
culture isnt your friend... enjoy!
Need a club to play these type of songs
Well damn wish I knew that ya'll we're doing this at the Neshoba County Fair hahaha...that's wild.

great pairing of music and visual. Black Marble is the truth.
Went to a harvest festival because of this song last year, now with everything going on this'll probably be the only way to get that vibe for now
Great song, great band, great sound.....just great
I really like that this goes back to their earlier lo-fi sound from Weight Against the Door. Awesome!
Great visuals
