I just found this song a few months ago and ever since, I can't stopping listening to it. It gives me the strangest sensation of nostalgia, melancholy and calm at the same time. I can't always explain the emotions I feel when listening to this song, but I know that I'll keep coming back to it regardless.
I've been on since 2015. My first song was Pretender and I fell in love with BM. I noticed he lost some "edgy" gatekeeping followers because this album wasn't "goth" enough but I feel like it's what also put him on the map a bit more. It's been one of my favorite albums to date and for kind of the same reasons you mentioned. In case you aren't already aware, his latest album just released but I too, have to always come back to this one ❤️
Make sure you love that girl or guy and she loves you or he. Never get into a relationship where 1 relys on the other make it mutual and never ever ever rely on the other for just emotional or financial support make sure you both come with the best intentions of making eachother better
oh my god i was literally just thinking of a toxic relationship that i just got out of cause i miss them???? but like this comment made me not miss them so thank you
I was getting back into one when this song came out. Sucks too because I held everything on her which made it impossible to grow. 2 years single and barely coming out of the 4 year alcohol coma I was in. 3 months sober 💙
This song has been on repeat. It's soothing as it's sad, life seems to be put into perspective every time I listen to it. Sometimes you find songs that reshape the whole "feel" of your life and put you into a new chapter. The story goes on.
I go to this one when I am absolutely shit faced and feeling below pond scum level. The Cure, Depeche Mode, etc.... none of them help me out at this point the way this song does.
Such The Cure vibes! I’ve been listening to The Cure since 1987 and have almost everything they’ve ever released - LP and cd and dvd and vhs video! I’m thinking I’ve found a new love! 🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤
After so time has gone by and the soft and rosed perfumed dance that is as i feel it so blanketed and taken freshly lifted, and laugh until you can't cry anymore.
Oh iron lung, are you at the house? Will you be alright? Did they throw you out? I want to know, are they keeping you down? Are you working now, is it working out? Now I suppose you've been under the gun Is it closing time, did you have to run? Try this on, you feel perfect now Did they speak of you until their tongues fell out? I don't believe you, iron lung I don't believe in the plow You kept me young, you were my iron lung I need you now Now iron lung, did they make you sing? When they bent your arm and took your ring? I can see you now, I can hear your sound You keep me up, my iron lung I don't believe you, iron lung I don't believe in the plow You kept me young, you were my iron lung I need you now
An Iron Lung is the colloquial term for an artificial breathing machine that used to be used to assist patients who could not keep their blood oxygenated.
@@Kabanchik04 An iron lung is used to keep the patients bryant hobbs was talking about alive. It's used when a patient can't breathe on their own, it essentially works their diaphragm for them. Without it, they would die. I assume iron lung is a slightly dark, somber metaphor for someone the singer loves and misses dearly. Probably a remark on how much he needs that person in his life, how dependent he's become on them. He can't breathe without them. He can't live without their presence.
3 years ago I couldn't listen to this song because it reminded me of my friend who committed suicide. Now I see it doesn't remind me of that anymore and am able to listen to it without any attachments. Great song.
My deepest of condolences. Remember that energy never dies, and we're not allowed to know EVERYTHING but please have hope. What a blessing to have shared these life experiences with someone you love. It's worth missing them. You'll see them again when it's time. Bless you and everyone else who's delt with someone passing on.
A couple of years ago before the pandemic I got see Black Marble live and i loved every minute of their live set. My only regret is that I didn’t buy a band T-Shirt!!!!
[Verse 1] Oh, iron lung, are you at the house? Will you be alright, did they throw you out? I want to know, are they keeping you down? Are you working now, is it working out? Not much longer and 2016 will be 10 years ago :( How time flies. A Different Arrangement opened my ears to a different post-punk sound I hadn't heard before and I was so hyped when It's Immaterial came out. Instant classic album. I've been in this musical phase ever since lol. Found my place I guess.
me and the girl just split after 4 years. like half an hour ago. so of course my first move is to sit here on the computer smoking and wasting time. anyway, that's what this song will always remind me of, always take me back to. kinda melancholy little song isn't it? i like it though, a lot..
Wikipedia says this track was written using "Bruises - Chairlift" as a reference track but I can't find any additional info on that. I mean the bass lines sound similar but can anyone explain how they come to that conclusion?
This sounds like my faith in the goodness of the world being shattered as I stand among the shattered pieces of my childhood dreams, like the ruins of an old church with the roof caved in, as I stare into the cold eyes and sober face of a ghost who's not there. I don't believe you iron lung, I don't believe in the vow
Hey guys, im looking for the song that the beginning part is very similar to this song and there’s a music video that joseph gordon levitt looking kid is peep out his hot neighbor woman all the time and dreaming about having a kiss or something but one day he was taking a peep of her again and found out she was making out with his baseball coach or something. I really want to find this song but no idea what’s the song title is.. help me out!!

I studied Linear Algebra during college with this song (and album).
i love this comment, there are so many songs i think of as songs i studied to in college. those stay with you
