Thanks for the awesome video. Why do you have to poke two holes when you're using the spring loaded clip? EDIT: Nevermind. I listened to that part of the video again and caught it the second time.
Thank you for pointing out the leather weight component. I recently bought a big piece of 8-9 ounce leather on Amazon, without really understanding what I was getting. This video pointed out the significance of leather thicknesses.
I bought the pattern, and like the wallet. If I were to use the newer clip which requires 2 holes, does the end of the clip exit through the second hole? Goes in just like in this video, but then comes out the 2 hole? KInda has to, right? If not, what's the second hole for? Thanks for doing these videos.
That is awesome work! I'm a bladesmith primarily but I'm quickly starting to want to work with leather more than hot steel! Sheaths are pretty easy after you've made a few, but I want to move on to projects that dont need hours of forging a blade before I can move onto the leather work.
Those clips are the ones you crimp to the leather. Once you crimp it, its rock solid and won't fall out. Mitchell's Leather uses them on their money clip wallet. I'm sure once you try crimping the wire clip, you'll go back to them. The spring loaded ones tend to go bad or fall apart in the long run.
I have learned a lot from your videos and techniques. I love the simplistic approach while achieving maximum craftsmanship. I have a Ferdinand Bull with a #20 needle. Too big ? I have 138 and 69 thread. Suggestions? ;-}
For some reason I had to re subscribe.? Hey I've bought a few of your pattern packs and have never seen anything about permission to sell? Just was curious about it..haven't sold any design of yours and I refuse to because I could never repay what you've taught me
@8:38 you said that you use Olive Oil? When I was learning to work with leather, I was taught by a saddle and tack maker to never use olive oil and that it hurts the leather.
Great video and idea for Christmas gifts!!! Please tell me your source for the wire copper inserts that hold the paper money. Keep these great videos coming.
Amazing to watch as always! Can you tell me what tool you are using around the 5:47 mark. It looks like a curved beveler? I have my Barry King catalog ready 😃
I was going to skip past the tooling, but I couldn’t after I heard the background music! Who is it, and what’s the title of the song, please?? I checked the description but didn’t find it there...
I’d like to challenge you to try a little parrafin wax rubbed onto your edges, and melted in with a lighter then rubbed down with canvas after you slick with the saddle soap and saddle soap. See how you like it. I do this on my Tack, and people love it.
Just bought this pattern pack. Wallet looks great. Always happy to watch a master at work.
Just starting out, but I'm gonna try it. Thank You. Rick
This music is off the chains.
Mesmerizing. I fell into a trance and watched every second. Really nice work man
hey!!!! you do some good videos yourself -- hope you're busy

Yeah I tried making a wallet out of 8-9 oz. Sucker was HD lol.

I like your tooling experience. I bought a set of tools for Tooling. many years ago but did not make any wallet with that.
Так весь прикол в ручных изделиях из кожи это ручной шов. шов сшитый на машинке если в одном месте порвется то он поползет... а ручной шов нет.
Can you buckstitch these?? If so what size lace and prong?
Hoof nippers: an essential leather working tool! lol!
I wish you wouldn't have put your initials on most of the patterns that come in the pack that I paid for
Don, does the spring clip exit through the second hole?
I have been watching most of your videos ans learnt a lot. The one I watched is where you oil the sewing machines. Thanks!😃

Just curious, what number Barry King flower center do you find yourself using the most on these?
So both ends of the pocket are open?
I admire your craftsmanship. Watching your videos has helped me tremendously...thank you sir...
Thanks for the blues background music. Much more interesting than most!
You are an artist. I really love you for your creativity. I ask you a question, can the word be reduced so that it becomes more liquid?
I love your videos. Can you make one about how to make what I call the "Cowboy Wallet?" It is long like a check book, but is a wallet.
What kind of leather did this wallet use? chrome tan or vegetable tan
Great video and idea for Christmas gifts!!! Please tell me your source for the wire copper inserts that hold the paper money. Keep these great videos coming.
What's the model of Singer did you use? And how thick can you sew with?
I haven't tried to sew that much veg tan with my Singer yet, Now I'll have to give it a try.
As always, great video and your work is great.
