Snapshot from a memorable concert in which I performed Avner Dorman Violin Concerto No. 2 and Mendelssohn Violin Concerto back-to-back with Boris Brott and the National Academy Orchestra. A big shoutout to Toronto Summer Music (Jonathan Crow, artistic director) for bringing us together - one of my favourite festivals in Canada.
Hearing this interpretation is like hearing someone pronounce every word they say with impeccable clarity and without mumbling!! Can't wait to see him become one of the big time violinists :D
In this age of super child prodigies, Kerson reminds us, much like what Bach did in his lifetime, that there is simply no such thing as god-given natural power in the world of music. You learn the craft bow stroke by bow stroke, interval by interval, patiently, deliberately, for a lifetime. The old masters showed us what they could do and hid how they did it, the later prodigies learnt everything far too fast and matured far too early. Kerson presented the whole art-making process as art itself. Isn’t it much more satisfying to witness a lifetime of learning and progressing than some snapshots of still paintings? May there be more Kersons!
He is no comparison to him… technically both are in the highest level, but the style and musicality of Kerson is already better even at such a young age. He blows my mind.
You might find it interesting when listening to Heifetz’s earliest recordings that, at 10, you can already tell it’s Heifetz. He would chide his students who tried to emulate him,” no copycats!” Everyone has to find their own voice. Kerson definitely has his own voice.
Definitely among the top 10 violinists of the last century. His technical skill is on par with Heifetz, and musicality reaches an emotional depth that few can match.
The instrument you play must really be in love with you, it can finally have a voice and sing equally on all four strings; it's waited centuries for you! You are more than fabulous. Thank you.
Kerson Leong est talentueux, prodigieux, théâtral, hypnotisant, électrisant, énergisant, rythmique et orgasmisque. I couldn' t maintain eye contact with him because it's too intense. A living legend and a genius that we must adored now.
Très touchant de revoir maintenant ce concert, après le décès de monsieur Boris Brott. Kerson l’admirait beaucoup, et doit avoir beaucoup de peine. Nous pensées sont avec toi.
So much music being made by all these musicians together....superb conducting....a really transcendental rendition of this concerto by Kerson Leong who gives a magnificent performance. No fear of missing notes here.❤😊
Honestly speaking, I did not like Mendelssohn E concerto until I heard this version. The interpretation (both Mr. Leong and the orchestra) adds a lot to the original work

He's pretty big already!
He's already there:)
If he is not the best violinist in his generation, he is top 2 violinists in the world.

I feel that he is one of the few who started out as a "prodigy" and then became true god-like in his adult life
He is a former super child prodigy
When you think you heard the best rendition of this concerto you are forced to change your mind when you hear Leong. What an artist!!!!
13:07 2nd movement
21:16 3rd movement
The incredible phrasing and gorgeous sound. Easily one of the greatest violinists of the century if not one of the greatest violinists ever
I'm gonna tell my kids this was 21st century's Heifetz.
Lol best comment
He is even better 😉

There is a sound quality of Kerson that so supersedes the wide sea of musicians that play this concerto! wonderful! beyond technique!

I love the flautist at 2:08 who didn't get the memo re: concert blacks....
I love his phrasing and interpretation. We are definitely going to see and hear so much more from him. Amazing job.
Absolutely stunning style and musicality. You're always such a joy to listen to.
He’s incredible. I really enjoy his playing.

Maestro Kerson a wonderful musician, incredible violinist with a sound full of charme
This is so so beautiful and sublime. Such delicate phrasing, bow control, emotional feeling, and that cadenza with the ricochet bowing wowza.
My dude, I do not know how you communicate your beautiful artistry with such excellence! Bravo!
Brillante interpretacion , unida a un Magistral estilo y un maravilliso sonido.

월드 클래스급 연주자인 케르손의 연주는 20세기 초반 거장들의 연주를 연상케 합니다.
SUPERB!!! And ...... just to memorize it all?
Superb.
💖💖💖💖💖💖💖
prima!
Orchestra is good BUT slightly too loud. I have been a great fan of Kerson for a very long time.
What violin do you play?
I believe he plays a Guarneri del Gesu.
Yes, a Del Gesu - the Ex-Bohrer.
@@liamnevilleviolist1809 thank you.
Amazing artist! Which sheet music is this?
Are you performing in California USA sometimes in future??
Oh! I would feel we should play on the violin with right hand, elbow, wrist and finger only. Yeah that's OK.
I just realized he's not using a shoulder rest...
I think he uses a small pad tho, you can probably see it in his performance of Ernst's Der Erlkönig
Pinshi oaxaco tocas vergas, te amo
O solista é excepcional a orquestra excelente. Uns de máscara outros não porquê? Me parece lavagem cerebral.

Dude why do you look so distressed? Are you in pain?
