Pax Teem’s fatal mistake was assuming that Palpatine was just an ordinary Senator. Little did he know that Palpatine is a dark lord of the Sith. He stepped on the dragon’s tail, and he paid for it.
The Jedi had failed to spot the Sith for over a 1000 years. Even at the end during the Clone Wars when they had daily dealings with the Sith Lord in question.
LOVE THIS SCENE SO MUCH! I’ve always wanted to know what in the hell Pax Teem is thinking when he first sees Palpatine for what he truly is. The curtain is drawn back for a brief moment for all those Gran and Teem, but it’s too late.
When I was reading this scene I actually had Mozart's dies irea playing in my head while he busted in and killed the sun guards. My imagination does music while I read
“Face contorted in rage 👹, red hair in electrified disarray ⚡️⚡️, mouth webbed with strands of thick saliva 💦, eyes a radioactive shade of yellow ☢️. Now Sidious gave full vent to his ire. “WOOSHHH”🫸💨 Pax Teem gawked at him as if he was a creature escaped from his most HORRIFYING nightmare ☠️.” The way this book is written is INSANE 🫡 It’s even more intense than watching it in live action.
Wonder what he thought when he saw the innocent looking Senator Palpatine with glowing yellow eyes butchering his servants with a red lightsaber the same way Darth Vader did the Separatist council on Mustafar in Episode 3
Imagine, for a moment, the youth and ferocity of this Sidious married with the power and wisdom of ROTS Sidious. I promise you, no one would have survived, not even Yoda.
How kind of Palpatine. He heard the cows were having a banquett, and decided to provide some Barbeque. You've got to love the moments when Sidious' inner psychopath is allowed to come out and play. He rarely gets the opportunity to cut loose either as senator, chancellor, or emperor, and I suspect he was actually enjoying himself when he was allowed to have fun with his favorite kind of prey...the kind that can never hope to fight back.
One of only a couple of fights in the book. One on the ship, the one with Venemas, the maladians, and this one. You realize that inquisitors would be more experienced killing Jedi than the Bane Sith since you can't do that from hiding very often. (Inquisitors did exist even in the old EU though less organized) Controlling the flames though was awesome. Also consider that having a lightsaber wielder as an enemy is a psychological effect even when facing Jedi unless you're trained to deal with them.

In his defense who could’ve guessed that?
It would be more safer to step on a dragons tail than messing with sidious.

Sidious in all his vicious animalistic glory
He killed them every single one of them not just the gran men but the gran women and the children and the dugs too he slaughtered them like animals
They were like animals so he slaughtered them like animals
Palpatine doesn't mess around
I love Anakin's heroic theme playing over the scene of Sidious slaughtering people brutally.
I can see Tom Hiddleston playing as young sidious causing this massacare
I second that notion 🙌🏼
Funny i started a poll on IG and the votes for yes is going crazy
When I was reading this scene I actually had Mozart's dies irea playing in my head while he busted in and killed the sun guards.

He didnt kill Sun Guards,he killed Santhe Security Guards. The Sun Guards are allied to Plagueis and Sidious
We need a series about Palps younger days
nah a 3hr movie
surely not done by Disney. It is too dark and politically incorrect.

In other words: DONT FUCK WITH PALPATINE
Imagine, for a moment, the youth and ferocity of this Sidious married with the power and wisdom of ROTS Sidious. I promise you, no one would have survived, not even Yoda.
That's part of why Dark Empire was so terrifying. Sidious' years of experience in a younger clone body.
"no... I know where the Gran are, it won't be business as usual this time..."

There's also the lightsaber training sequence on Hypori against the droids as well as the fight on Kursid against the primitives.
Less organized ??? EU Inquisitors had a better defined ranking system than just being called "Brother/Sister".
Sidious wins. Fatality.
Reading this part made me think of: “and not just the men, but the women and the children too!”
(sniffs) Grass-fed Gran. Yummy with a side of roasted potatoes . . .
Palpatine used during the massacre force speed to kill the guards and Pyrokinesis to kill Pax Teem.
One of the best parts of the book. Still waiting for the assassination attempt!
That will come soon. How soon? Hard to say.
@@buntsbooks lol i saw haha!
Could you upload a video of the coucil meeting that took place before anakin appointment to the council
This is Canon for me!
What?
Palpatine only killed pax teem in that scene that’s it
Sidious killed Teem last. He wanted Teem to see everything/one he worked and care for die before he did.
