Well, my old oil filter was really stuck into the plastic cap. I managed to separate it by pushing an inch wide metal tube up, to release the clips.
It was an old Bosch filter, so that might be why it didn't just fall apart !!!.

The advantage of you doing your oil change is attention to rust prevention with the cover bolts. I doubt garages would ever care!

@aaldashti 0w30 is good in very cold weather, but 5w30 is good for warmer weather. I've never used 0w30 on any diesel car though. Is too light.

I have oil change but they add 5w 30 and after 1000 miles i so oil leaking maybe from rocker cover gasket what you think its from the oil ? Im thinking to replace the rocker cover gasket and switch the oil back to 0w 30 in uk its very cooled winter so its better to replace it same time

@aaldashti you need to use only Total Quartz INEO 5w30 to avoid damaging silicone gasket between camshaft casing and cylinder head.
I learned the hard way on my other citroen. I had to dismantle the engine to put a new gasket!
0w30 oil is very light. It is more likely to leak than 5w30 oil. 0w30 oil warms quickly, and it is good for fuel economy. Most toyota hybrid cars use it.
5w30 is light, but not like 0w30.
When I owned a toyota prius, I used 0w20 oil in winter, but in summer, hydraulic lifters rattled, so toyota used 5w30 oil.

Be careful what online sellers reccomend. Page 22 of the maintenance and warranty guide says 5W30 ... specification B71 2290 Synthetic anti pollution.
      🙂

@rickikilvi5406 yes that the oil I use on my picasso. 0w30 is just too light!

Wouldn't Shell Oil 5W-30 be okay to use..?

Hi, I would not put any other type of oil in my citroen 1.6Hdi
I had a bad experience with other oils and I can't repeat the same mistake!
The engine started leaking oil on the camshaft casing.

@rickikilvi5406 hi, I have not yet changed the coolant after the timing belt and water pump change. Normally, I put back the old coolant and drive for a while, then do cooling system flush and put new coolant.
