Just a guitar, layed on his lap played like a lapsteel guitar which is usually on a stand and not contoured like his. So yea, just a guitar that hes layed on his lap playing lapsteel style....
@@billhicks7034 I mean technically it is a lapsteel guitar, the neck is a big rectangle so you can rest it easier on your lap, and the nut is raised quite a bit so the strings are far from the fretboard, which I assume has no frets.

To give you a totally different example, some swear by the brit-blues mastery of a Clapton, when I rate the expressivity of a Peter Green a whole lot more. And that's also what i adore with Dan's cover.
