Hi Barry, Dan Hunsinger from Georgia here. Your undergraduate story sounds a lot like mine. I graduated with an Interdisciplinary Studies degree with an emphasis on Southeast Asia. Luckily I got credit for an entire year of Language studies because of my 1500 hours of Lao at the State Department. Love the contents of your videos. It would be very helpful and nice if you could pick 10 things that you encounter in your walks and give the Laos equivalent for them. That would be really helpful in getting us who are brushing up on our Lao some much needed practice. I actually stopped your videos and read all the signs to improve my reading skills. I really appreciate all you do!

Really enjoyed hearing more about your background and to find another person similarly curious in this region is awesome! I like that idea. Easy way to take people along for a real life Lao lesson. We all the know best way to learn is by doing and preferably by shadowing someone who speaks the language that’s also willing to help, but this isn’t usually possibly to find a tutor to go do things with but I can do that with a UA-cam video. So glad you asked.😊

Not many jobs for foreigners in Laos. I’ve only lived in Vientiane but I’ve search the country for jobs and it’s tough. Best to have with online from back home.
