this video brings me back to Shanghai when i used to work there & enjoy exploring the huge variety of local traditional food. I struggled as a newbie for while as a vegetarian but in time i found plenty spots with veg options. silky tofu, morning grain porridges, stuffed pancakes, noodle soups, so many memories.
Ohio, USA. This showed up in my feed. Great videos!! I loved watching these about Chinese food. Wow, so cheap compared to American prices for a breakfast if you eat out. Very well done.
I see everything here is clean and hygienic. There is certainly a world of a difference between street food in China and street food in India. I guess when you are born there you get used to the way food is handled or prepared. While visitors and tourist cringe at the sight of the cook dipping his hand up to the elbow in a curry mixture to stir it, the Indians don’t find anything wrong with that. Everything is handled with their bare hands. Then the surroundings are dirty as well the clothes they wear. Judging by the long queues, such Indian street food must be very tasty and delicious.
What you said is right in China the street food clean and hygienic. Where Indian Street food are unclean unhygienic environment and we need lot of awareness to Indian Street vendors for clean surrounding and hygienic preparation in this way they can attract lot of customers most of the customers prefer cleanliness is the first priority then comes food preservation using gloves.
An oganisation in India has even created a Godess of Cleanliness, Swacch Narayani, to address the issue of chaos and dirt in public spaces. It was also to motivate street traders not to live up to their own (and others) stereotypes of them as dirty and disorderly. But change is difficult. First it is hard to talk to poor people about hygiene when they are so used to living in filthy conditions. Second, you have to convince people to stop patronising dirty and unhygienic eateries. Boycotting them is the most effective way to bring change but that too is difficult because most can only afford such street food. I find it strange that the government is impotent about enforcing a minimum standard of hygiene for people who handle and prepare food for sale to the public.
In this video he talks about what Chinese people eat for breakfast and me, depending what I feel like, maybe eggs, meat, home fries, hash brown potatoes, vegetable fried rice, congee, and Dim-Sum, pancakes, French toast, chip beef with toast, eggs, and potatoes, water, juice, coffee or tea, very good breakfast, farina, oatmeal, no grits but I like a very light breakfast or char siu Bow,or a sai min noodle soup with vegetables, meat products and eggs, very light and packed with various things, maybe add some fresh ginger and garlic and scallions but I don't care for SOBA OR UDON noodles, good start to the day or a muffin or Danish no croissant or a bagel with cream cheese, lox, capers and a slice of tomato and onions, as I like a bagel in the morning.
Also in this video because this is HUNAN style food, the cousin to Hunan food is Schuwan food and typically it's a bit more spicy because of the temperature, where Mandarin and CANTONESE is a bit milder, same ingredients, but very tasty it's quick and simple to make on the run, simple snacks
oh, shoots of fennel are chopped and used as greens, like dill, i suppose, interesting. never thought of fennel as a vegetable. we only use the seeds for seasoning, or chew the seeds as a digestive
In my country, we try to avoid too much cholesterol. Fat and eggs have a lot of that, especially the egg yolks (the yellow part of the egg), too much cholesterol intake will contribute to clogg up your blod vessels and is likely to give you blood cluts, that could happend anywhere in your body: the heart, a leg, your brain. Only two eggs a week as an average. 🤗❤️
@@kille-4B Thanks for your reply😊😊😊😊. I know cholesterol is bad thing but our country only advice the related patients not to eat yolks. Maybe our advice is not right because our medical services is under-developed.
@@kille-4B That advice about limiting egg intake is outdated by a few decades. Eggs are super healthy food and won't affect your cholesterol levels. Trans fats are the big danger
I travel vicariously; fascinating journey into the real China, not the touristy parts. I enjoy mostly vegetarian dishes. These breakfasts are hearty, probably allowing enough calories to sustain the person until a late lunch is consumed. Thanks for making such an insightful video of delicious, authentic Chinese dishes from that particular province in China.
It is really amazing that you ever travelled non-touristy parts in China. That must fascinating but should be not easy because China is not English speaking country.
I tend to agree with you, but something happends if you leave your fryingpan with oil in it, there doesn’t have to be any heat under it, it just takes a while longer for the oil to get thick and sticky. Also, if not wiped of, grease stains on the tiles from Oliveoil gets to be like stuck winegum/ gummibears.
Many evil organizations still fake these information about gutter oil. You can check my pin comment for explanating gutter oil in my first breakfast vedio series. No one can use that disgusting thing in front of customer and can avoid not be identified.
And in some countries they think pork is gross 🤷There's nothing inherently bad about either kind of meat, it's just a matter of your culture or religion.
I was in china for 6 years for my undegraduation and I just enjoyed eating Chinese food.just awesome food culture 🤤
I lived in Greece and loved Greek food

Looks like subway but with eggs .
" Aaaha " !! Food ( eggs based😄) . Please show more on eggs and chicken based Chinese food. This channel is 👌👌. 🙏
One of the biggest attractions to me is the food.
The Chinese are very resourceful and not wasteful with food.
I'd love to order breakfast if I was there!!! 😋

Oh, I also never thought of its seeds for seasoning, which must be very special taste
We use both the seeds for seasoning and the greens as a vegetable (northern Europe)
So much oil, but yes it all looks delicious.
There is nothing on this planet which the Chinese don't eat.
We are made from what eat anyway.
how about youtiao recipe
I only know how to eat.😅
And in Romania in the mean time a pancake with jam is 2 Euro
That's too expensive...I guess it should be very delicious.
@@GetToKnowChina Not at all! Your pancakes are 10 times better!
I guess they don’t have the max. 2 eggs a week advice in China 😮 But most the food looks delicious 😋
Really? why there's that advice in your country? I almost eat 2 eggs every day, is there any problem? 😂

@@aprillen You are right, my knowledge was too old, we are now recommended 1 egg a day unless the doctor says otherwise.

So if you're allergic to eggs😢😂
I never heard Chinese is allergic to eggs, and very rare Chinese is allergic to something.😂😂
Go somewhere else then or eat at home!!!!
You had me at braised donkey meat. Looks good though!
Hello🖐👌

i really mis the gutter oil.....from china it makes me seek..😂😂😂
The gutter oil has been sold to the United States
Teflon coated aluminium frying pans are to be avoided
What is the crunchy piece put in the mung bean pancakes?
This is made from wheat flour mixed with some seasonings, formed into thin slices, and then deep-fried.
What is that crispy square stuff they put inside of pancakes?
That's something made of flour. Maybe I should film the process of cooking it someday because many people are curious about it.
And if you notice how much the eggs are burned. Ewww 😅
Bats ?🤫😂
Whatever the guy in front of them in line was Going to eat if they hadn't shoved their way in front of him ??

Get rid of Serpentza's ridiculous channel. He is a pathological liar.
This food is garbage. Seed oils, gutter oil ….. as bad as American food. My family is from Taiwan and they don’t even eat this stuff anymore.
Are they not fake food? …
Eating 💩 of poopooxi 😅😅😅
