Sentai Labor Day Sale Haul

This was everything I picked up from the Labor Day Sentai Filmworks Sale this year.
I apologize that this entire order was blind buys, and I don't have more information on each of these titles. The sale was too good to pass up. Let me know in the comments if you have seen any of these : )

I get excited about Sentai sales even knowing I still have to factor in shipment to the UK at somepoint, to even think about the prospect looking at one of their hauls with the knowledge that after $75 it is free shipping and also their sales are tax free aren't they? Like damn I bet so many people must own sizable portions of Sentai's catalogue based on these sales alone. I mean 'who wouldn't buy that for a $1?' is totally true. Especially since the value of what you are buying will never be less than that so even you don't like it you can just trade it in later for a profit. Crazy.
One of the cooler things about the Sentai DVD sets is want you lose in video resolution you gain in extra disc art, which is nice.
I've seen Hamatora, a decent mystery show with some superpowers and stuff, nothing crazy but I liked it.
Totally relate on Softenni, I love sports shows so its been in my basket a bunch over various sales but I've never pulled the trigger on it.
Glasslip was a show I was so excited to see. I love PA Works as a studio and I really hoped this title would be somewhat similar to something like Hanasaku Iroha except the show takes place at a Glass Blowing Studio. Unfortunately the show is much more about the premonitions angle and that stuff is interesting but not great imo. I did watch the show though in a single sitting I believe so it was engaging. Just sad we never got the Glass Blowing Anime haha (I actually did work experience in a glass studio as a teenager, was alot of fun. There was even a swimming pool out back to cool off on your breaks lol).
Wandaba Style is definitely worth a $1. I really liked that silly show, very underrated.
I liked Wizard Barristers, I don't remember the Animation being jank though I may have been distracted by the Umetsu character designs which are some of my favourites. It might be something they fixed for the home video release or I totally could've been distracted by the effects as there are many. Plot is decent though unfinished. It's literally about barristers representing magic users in court cases, though it tends to focus on more action outside of the court rooms.
I really must buy Venus Wars this year, the remaster that Sentai got to use is amazing compared to the original Discotek release. Curious about the new dub too. Pretty cool 80's sci-fi film with a real proper budget.
lol Devil's Line is a show I couldn't finish. Very Twilight-esque. So not for me personally haha.
Unfortunately Discotek took up all my funds while this sale was on. I'm hoping to partake in the black friday or holiday sale for Sentai, if only to repurchase my summer sale order which sadly was lost in post. Only time that has happened to me but it really hurt that one.

Venus Wars is one of my favourite finds of recent years. I own the older Discotek blu-ray and was just so happy with the 80's aesthetic and YAS's direction. He really should have directed more but a lot of his works didn't succeed at the box office and he gave up at Venus Wars in '89 until Cucuruz Doan's Island last year. I completely forgot that with Cucuruz Doan's Island, I own all of his directorial stuff. Need to sit down and rewatch Arion (I totally recommend it). As always, Val, great video. I don't remember the timeline in Hamatora being confusing at all, but then again, it's been many years since I watched it. I remember enjoying it quite a bit because it really felt like a Japanese X-Men story.
Great haul Val! I loved Food Wars was fun and over the top, but I love cooking so it was right up my ally. I enjoyed Devil Line too. I was very surprised was very interesting romance/horror. God!! I've been meaning to buy Venus Wars for the longest time.
Sabagebu is absolutely hilarious! Very underrated show! Also fun fact, it's a shojo series.
Garden of Words is one of the most visually stunning anime movies I've seen. A short and sweet watch!
Amagi Brilliant Park is actually brilliant lol. Very fun and colorful show.
Very unusual list of pickups here, but it adds to the fun, sales lead to interesting acquisitions ^_^
Amagi is one of my fave kyoani works, it’s HILARIOUS (and the dub features Misato and Asuka’s classic dub VAs as vulgar animal mascots)!
Also longer the better :)

Wandaba Style is a wild comedy! It's really fun!
There are so many random shows that get licenced and yet we still don't have Sanrio Boys, How to Keep Your Mummy, Idolish7. I don't understand.
Maji Love Kingdom is such a great experience. Wonderful in the theater! I drove to Washington to watch it haha

Oh yay! This was such a fun box to open beause I don't hear about too many of the dollar dvds in this one, the blu rays should be really good ^^
