dude I just got done watching all the skibidi content and it was amazing, but weeks prior I was scoffing at it from a distance. this is one of the best things i've ever seen
I didn't realise it was aimed at the current generation but when I think of that term "zoomer humour" this definitely fits the bill. I was deep into Gmod, machinima and YTP in around 2008 and I thought Skibidi toilet was aimed at folk like me. It would actually be great if a new generation picked up on the Source engine and Gmod and we had some fresh new shit-tier machinima content made by different people.
When I first discovered skibidi toilet, I genuinely wished I was drinking something at the time because I would've spit it all over my desk through my nose because its so ridiculous, so stupid, so... actually perfect tongue in cheek toilet humor from my childhood comedies that were Gmod videos. Even if the world was genuinely ending tomorrow, I'd be happy knowing that Gmod content was what was blessed upon us.
Random faces, toilet humor, source engine shenanigans, this is just 2008 Machinima all over again. I'm glad the younger generation can experience what we watched in a different form. Plus, I've known about dafuqboom for a while and I'm glad he's getting the recognition he deserves. I loved his GTA: SA animations back in the mid 2010's
It’s somewhat reassuring to know that even now, after nearly two decades of existing, Gmod is still a major source of memes, even for the younger generations.
I find it incredible that the Gmod/SFM community is still capable of creating content that defines a generation of users. First we had Rubberfruit with their animations and insane characters, then we had Kitty0706 (RIP) with stuff like Team Fabulous 2 and Mass Defect, and in recent years we have the likes of ceno0 with Pootis Engage, Eltorro64Rus with his surreal but greatly animated Gmod shorts, and now this Skibidi Toilet series. Even though I don't use SFM or the Source engine for animation anymore, I still have profound respect for those that use it to make such amazing content.
The SFM animations I have seen are always so good the one that comes from the top of my mind is live and let spy. Also I put my comment here so it's not just all bots :)

I watched 1 episode of skibidi toilet and I was like "huh this is okay, lets see some more". I then binge watched the next 50 episodes because I got so enveloped in the storyline and its just so epic
I'm in my 30s, but I still love the series mostly because I grew up when gmod films and shitposting was at its advent. So there is a certain nostalgia element with the content too. While it may be geared toward kids, I think there are a large number of adult viewers who just miss those 'good old days' of early gmod.
The fact that this one guy managed to amass over 2 billion views in the span of a month of just posting stuff about people's heads sticking out of a toilet battling it out with cameramen is just legendary.
I feel like DaFuqBoom has deserved a lot of the views and subs recently, they have stepped up their animation quality and created such an interesting universe and story with different characters. Plus the amount of details in the videos are incredible.
As an older fan of DaFuqBooms content im honestly astonished and at the same time proud of how popular this man has become. And yeah, this guy has been mainstream before but to go this level of popular and mainstream is insane and legendary at the same time. His short Skibidi Toilet series still have that same level of wacky, weird and slightly disturbing formula his older videos had (especially the ones like his older TF2 sfm vids) although more expressive. Tho also like al things popular, it’s disappointing people are trying to milk off the man’s success and steal his content or make clickbait off him for views. But yeah besides that glad he’s getting a lot of notoriety, it’s deserved for the dedication he put into GMod animation for all these years 👌 (Lets hope YT doesn’t nuke my comment again 💀)

DaFuq has always been one of my favorites even before he started skibidi toilet and with skibidi toilet he's finally hit a level beyond... Only problem seems is that its mostly overwritten his normal content prior to skibidi toilet which themselves were absolutely amazing as DaFuq has mastered making good shitposts while also having deeper hidden meanings inserted into certain shitposts

there is no lore. each episode is the same concept. big toilet, big camera man or speaker or whatever. one side wins, one sided loses, there’s a draw. lore is when there’s something behind the scenes going on a story behind the events. we don’t know where all the characters come from the only “lore” is that the camera woman comes from this random place.

Kind of like what Ritcher Overtime said on his video on the topic, he's pretty much introducing the Garry's Mod animations of the 2000's/2010's to a new generation in a format they're used to.

I have a confession: I really felt weirded out when gmod blew up like this. It's so... uncanny to see a game that I used to play as a kid, almost fall to obscurity, only for an entirely new generation of people to lift it up to ludicrous heights. I used to watch content like this as a kid, and they were never that popular. I mean my God, Kitty0706 - God bless his soul - had the most popular TF2 video of all time for years, and at the time the most viewed video game video of all time! And then these 30 second videos just blow it out of the water in mere HOURS?! I don't know how to feel.
I saw skibidi toilet some time ago and realized quite quickly that there was 2 warring factions, the toilets and cameras. And it had that good old Gmod style to it. And the creater just has been making this concept for a long time and it has become big in lore and scale, due to the amount the creator has put in. I respect it and it reminds me of the good ol' "The Gmod Idiot Box" series from dasboschitt.

Dafuqboom is a genuinely talented animator his male 07 animations are an absolute trip. He was doing a story arc involving male07 before skibidi toilet blew up. But ive seen hints of it in his latest episode. He could be using skibidi toilet to stay relevent until the projects done Everyone else doing skibidi toilet stuff are just riding dafuqs coattails.
Not wanna hate but he's not that talented all he does is move gmod npcs and it's super easy to replicate and again I'm not hating on him but I'm getting tired of seeing it on my recommend and the only thing that i hate is kids content creators milking the series he created
I guess I'm too old to have heard of it on my own, but the series is honestly great, and now I'm invested in it! I think it managed to find a nexus between childish humor, action, jump scares, mystery, world building, and cosmic horror, in an extremely condensed form where short attention spans won't be able to escape its gravitational pull. It is unironically a brilliant combination, which will probably not be taken seriously by most people over the age of like 18 because it's toilets and "random" and "loud noises". I think it deserves its success just on the basis of how remarkably it's been able to weave so many disparate elements together into something actually enjoyable.

Skibidi toilet is extremely stupid, yet super interesting. I watched it ironically, and yet I still ended up kind of enjoying it. This guy’s dedication to the Gmod/SFM craft is amazing, and the communities support for it is wonderful, even though its mostly targeted towards children.
If you watched his older videos likes ones from TF2, other GMod like videos and similar they have nearly that same level of wackiness into it. It’s honestly nostalgic and funny to think about as an fan of his older content 😂
Gmod is such a nostalgic masterpiece, I’ve known Gmod since 2013 when I used to watch Vanoss and VenturianTale and I’ve loved Gmod content ever since. I eventually got Gmod for the first time in 2020 and I was so happy that I finally got the game that’s been known for passionate and funny meme-filled content, the fact that Gmod’s popularity and player base is still going is insane👍
To be fair DaFuq has always made shitpost like content with a twist that turns it into something amazing. The fact he took a shitpost about toilets appearing in random places that had a HL Citizen stick their head out and sing the Skibidi song into a series of short episodes about a story involving an invasion by these toilets, the disappearance of humanity, the resistance by the ‘camera-men’ and their struggles, the arrival of various allies and set backs with constant arms race escalation in what is now essentially a pseudo-war documentary is just a fucking stroke of genius.
After seeing this I decided to look it up, and the videos were surprisingly entertaining. It's nonsensical, but also has a larger plotline and feels quite nostalgic

I was super surprised, I’d seen Richter Overtime’s video on it, and he spoke so negatively about the series that I figured I was gonna bail out within 5 episodes out of cringe Instead, I found an actually surprisingly entertaining and pretty cool story. You cant skirt around the weirdness that is the inherent plotline of “singing toilet men fighting camerahead/speakerhead/TVhead people + occasional anime mech giant fights”, but once you just accept that for what it is (in the same vein as a lot of other people mentioning Idiot Box and anonym00se’s animations and the weirdness that was that whole era of UA-cam) you have a weirdly coherent (though not 100% coherent) plotline with a surprisingly emotionally investing story and fights. I almost audibly went “OHH shit” when the big TV guy got lazered by the Gman toilet (best sentence Ive ever written) in the second-to-last video (as of writing) because DafuqBoom does such a good job at establishing the story and weird world and giving everything and every character a level of personality thats, honestly, more engaging and interesting than a lot of stuff Ive seen recently. And that makes it actually interesting, on an emotional level and a “woah this is actually kinda cool” level You can hate on it for being “overhyped” or “nonsensical crap”, but hey man, you definitely cant say most people planned on wasting less than an hour out of their day any better than watching skibidi toilet

When I first discovered skibidi toilet, I genuinely wished I was drinking something at the time because I would've spit it all over my desk through my nose because its so ridiculous, so stupid, so... actually perfect tongue in cheek toilet humor from my childhood comedies that were Gmod videos. Even if the world was genuinely ending tomorrow, I'd be happy knowing that Gmod content was what was blessed upon us.

I find it incredible that the Gmod/SFM community is still capable of creating content that defines a generation of users. First we had Rubberfruit with their animations and insane characters, then we had Kitty0706 (RIP) with stuff like Team Fabulous 2 and Mass Defect, and in recent years we have the likes of ceno0 with Pootis Engage, Eltorro64Rus with his surreal but greatly animated Gmod shorts, and now this Skibidi Toilet series. Even though I don't use SFM or the Source engine for animation anymore, I still have profound respect for those that use it to make such amazing content.

I watched 1 episode of skibidi toilet and I was like "huh this is okay, lets see some more". I then binge watched the next 50 episodes because I got so enveloped in the storyline and its just so epic
I'm in my 30s, but I still love the series mostly because I grew up when gmod films and shitposting was at its advent. So there is a certain nostalgia element with the content too. While it may be geared toward kids, I think there are a large number of adult viewers who just miss those 'good old days' of early gmod.

As an older fan of DaFuqBooms content im honestly astonished and at the same time proud of how popular this man has become. And yeah, this guy has been mainstream before but to go this level of popular and mainstream is insane and legendary at the same time. His short Skibidi Toilet series still have that same level of wacky, weird and slightly disturbing formula his older videos had (especially the ones like his older TF2 sfm vids) although more expressive. I saw skibidi toilet some time ago and realized quite quickly that there was 2 warring factions, the toilets and cameras. And it had that good old Gmod style to it. And the creater just has been making this concept for a long time and it has become big in lore and scale, due to the amount the creator has put in. I respect it and it reminds me of the good ol' "The Gmod Idiot Box" series from dasboschitt.

I guess I'm too old to have heard of it on my own, but the series is honestly great, and now I'm invested in it! I think it managed to find a nexus between childish humor, action, jump scares, mystery, world building, and cosmic horror, in an extremely condensed form where short attention spans won't be able to escape its gravitational pull. It is unironically a brilliant combination, which will probably not be taken seriously by most people over the age of like 18 because it's toilets and "random" and "loud noises". I think it deserves its success just on the basis of how remarkably it's been able to weave so many disparate elements together into something actually enjoyable.

Skibidi toilet is extremely stupid, yet super interesting. I watched it ironically, and yet I still ended up kind of enjoying it. This guy’s dedication to the Gmod/SFM craft is amazing, and the communities support for it is wonderful, even though its mostly targeted towards children.

Gmod is such a nostalgic masterpiece, I’ve known Gmod since 2013 when I used to watch Vanoss and VenturianTale and I’ve loved Gmod content ever since. I eventually got Gmod for the first time in 2020 and I was so happy that I finally got the game that’s been known for passionate and funny meme-filled content, the fact that Gmod’s popularity and player base is still going is insane👍

To be fair DaFuq has always made shitpost like content with a twist that turns it into something amazing. The fact he took a shitpost about toilets appearing in random places that had a HL Citizen stick their head out and sing the Skibidi song into a series of short episodes about a story involving an invasion by these toilets, the disappearance of humanity, the resistance by the ‘camera-men’ and their struggles, the arrival of various allies and set backs with constant arms race escalation in what is now essentially a pseudo-war documentary is just a fucking stroke of genius.

You cant skirt around the weirdness that is the inherent plotline of “singing toilet men fighting camerahead/speakerhead/TVhead people + occasional anime mech giant fights”, but once you just accept that for what it is (in the same vein as a lot of other people mentioning Idiot Box and anonym00se’s animations and the weirdness that was that whole era of UA-cam) you have a weirdly coherent (though not 100% coherent) plotline with a surprisingly emotionally investing story and fights. I almost audibly went “OHH shit” when the big TV guy got lazered by the Gman toilet (best sentence Ive ever written) in the second-to-last video (as of writing) because DafuqBoom does such a good job at establishing the story and weird world and giving everything and every character a level of personality thats, honestly, more engaging and interesting than a lot of stuff Ive seen recently. And that makes it actually interesting, on an emotional level and a “woah this is actually kinda cool” level
You can hate on it for being “overhyped” or “nonsensical crap”, but hey man, you definitely cant say most people planned on wasting less than an hour out of their day any better than watching skibidi toilet
