@Dylan Ogega Yes it is. Arrogance is arrogance, regardless of whether you’re actually capable or talented. Two people can both be superb at something, one can be arrogant about it and the other can be humble.
EPILOGUE: Fanchen and the guy he called mediocre collaborated with 2 other people to make a version of rush E with 4 people. The villan and the hero with the help of support characters have made an alliance and made the end of a story, a very impressive end indeed.
As a competitive pianist, this guy is good. Like really good. For non-music people it’s almost impossible to feel the sheer magnitude of the difference, but his technique is incredibly clear.
A someone who was raised on piano and music, I think it would be fair to call myself an "intermediate" musician, though to be fair I basically "gave up" at about 15-16. Though I have some talents, I've never considered myself special. What I've come to learn is that music (and the arts in general) is very intangible to non-artists/musicians. Laymen tend to percieve it as some sort of arcane wizardry rather than simply a skill that one improves at over a lifetime. The first guy is very obviously a hobbyist with maybe a few years under their belt and the second is a serious musican who's probably been playing since childhood. It's like comparing someone who's been studying a language for 2-3 years to a native speaker. I think many have experienced this phenomenon, when you're someone who practices hours a day and you walk outside of your bubble into the laymen world it can be very jarring. You're baffled by the things you see people being impressed by. It's not because you're an asshole, it's likely because you've spent a lifetime being told you're not special yourself and being made to iron out imperfections that are very glaringly obvious to you. I think there's similar things such as chess, gynamastics, etc. People don't really understand the levels of self-criticalness those worlds can leave you with, you're basically getting heavily roasted starting at age 5. It can actually be unhealthy.
Fanchen, the og uploader, and another piano channel uploaded an "8 arm rendition" of RushE with all of them that slaps. The og postwr and fanchen are on good terms. This story has a real happy ending
Serious question though. The guy asks why would people dislike this. And he responded with essentially "eh i just didn't think it was that good" what's wrong with that
Fanchen said in the description of his own video that his definition of mediocre is that it has room for improvement, and he and the creator of the original video even teamed up to make a video together. From the guy's perspective though, it seemed like Fanchen was being an ass. The guy commented on this video to say that he was sorry for making assumptions, and Fanchen responded to this by saying that he and the guy were "basically married now" in the description of his UA-cam video.
Well it's because mediocre isn't always "essentially" what you said it is. Mediocre does mean average, but it often has a more negative and condescending tone than if you said okay, fine, 5/10, or not good not bad. It comes of as, "it's not as good as it you think it is/it's extremely underwhelming" . Again, those sayings can mean the same thing as "fine", but they sound like the person doesn't care about other people's opinions.
Fr I also hate that people dislike him for giving his opinion. People saying he was being a jerk and should have given constructive criticism don’t make no sense. Using that logic you would have to say why it’s good and can’t just give a compliment by itself
@Allegator07 good comment! People somehow saw it as "lmao this shit is ass delete it rn" and began to hate him and calling him names for no reason at ALL. Nah, he said it was mediocre without going into detail. Indistinguishable from a random troll comment you see under every such video. You just choose to read it as a positive comment because if what happened afterwards. The fact that he was good at it, does not change that. People are just defending this guy because he "won" in the end, and people like to be on the winning side, no matter how that side actually behaves. If you're good at something and you go on UA-cam mocking people who aren't as good as you, that is apparently acceptable to a lot of people here, because you "win", so they will side with you. as someone who's been playing piano for 12 years, you can absolutely tell fanchen has more experience than the person in the first video. his hand/wrist position and absolute command over the tone his keys are producing are impressive, and hard to replicate without years at the piano under your belt. the person in the first video wasn't bad at all, but clearly lacked the experience fanchen had. as well as this, you could tell he had spent more time polishing or even just recording his piece, which is a huge element. every musician knows you can't get good without religiously rehearsing. for a piece i played recently, i spent hours a week practising, for about 18 months, to get it from scratch to competition standard. so all in all, the person in the first video wasn't bad, they just needed to spend a little more time at the keys and they'd be even better than they were.

@@k.g.b.1150 someone didn’t watch the video 💀
@@thomaspena1945 Piano is a extremely technical instrument, pianists give criticism to other pianists all the time unless the piece was redefined for hours
@@TheCardboardB_andit33 so u also didn't watch the video? Because calling something mediocre isn't criticism, you need to actually SAY what they should improve in
New title: "devil goes down to Georgia and fucking destroys johnny"
Lmfao
Haha great reference
Lol
AHAHAHHAHAHA IM DISENAGRATING
What a reference.
This man had the unbeatable bluff: one you can backup. Respect, he can go about it any fucking way he wants because he can back it up.
Honestly, yeh. Maybe he's trynna get to him to in a weird and brutal way, get him try tory harder cuz he sees potential in him. I've seen techniques like that used before.
@@rock4glory713 too people that practice piano that’s actually being nice most of them probably would started shifting on him all day even then franchin still thinks he can polish it even more to him it just seems like a normal comment
@@ihatenagi ye I figured. I've done a lot of music stuff and I honestly think piano players and clarinet players are the worst. I'm not saying all just in my expirence and that seems to be the stereotype.

Waiting to find out Fanchen is just a sham like a speedrunner thats been speedrunning for years
as someone who's been playing piano for 12 years, you can absolutely tell fanchen has more experience than the person in the first video. his hand/wrist position and absolute command over the tone his keys are producing are impressive, and hard to replicate without years at the piano under your belt. the person in the first video wasn't bad at all, but clearly lacked the experience fanchen had.
as well as this, you could tell he had spent more time polishing or even just recording his piece, which is a huge element. every musician knows you can't get good without religiously rehearsing. for a piece i played recently, i spent hours a week practising, for about 18 months, to get it from scratch to competition standard.
so all in all, the person in the first video wasn't bad, they just needed to spend a little more time at the keys and they'd be even better than they were.
fanchen's video came out either a week or earlier after that confrontation. I don't think as much time was spent on the piece specifically.
@@eonstar yeah but i mean every pianist has practiced rush e for a bit so he probably already knew how to play it. still a good performance though but the in still mediocre compared to other pianists(i know it’s a wrong comparison but it was the guys point so…)
Yeah, the second guy cheated because he practiced more!
if fanchen had only been practicing for a week (not mentioning any previous practice of the song) , and we can assume the original uploader had been practicing since he had intentions to post a video of himself playing, they had probably practiced about the same amount. fanchen just has more experience, nothing wrong with that
@@wjudee are you claiming that fanchen's performance was mediocre in a not meme sense?
this guy is like the villain that is loved by the fandom more than the protagonist is for no reason

@Camping Comrade deez nuts
YES
@UC-iXS7dbJA2qfyFKqRY4NRg why are there- I don't think there is a single person who would fall for this bot, if so, I feel sorry for them
@Camping Comrade Max PFP.
Fanchen isn't a villain, he's an antihero.
That doesn't work here lol
He definetly was a fucking worm there. Making some effort and trying to show your best version of a music, even if it's not that good, should be something to be praised, it gives you a reason to keep playing and getting better. Shaming someone by trying his best, even if you think you can do better, is far worse than disgusting in my point of view. I'm mesmerized people liked that douchebag because he could play better
@@bigaltz6403 not gonna lie, through out he had some major character development and started becoming more constructive in the slightest way possible, hopefully he has some some redemption arc into his truly tragic backstory he has
@@bigaltz6403 Exactly. Just because he can play better doesnt justify his asinine comment. He's still punching down.
Yaal just justify him because he looked cool-
Bro I was expecting him to literally pick up the piano and smash it on the stage after that. Outstanding performance. Absolute chad.
