I watched the video twice, smoked it over -- I had a 2x4 and bolts, and in 20 minutes, the motor mount was done. Thanks for the instructions. I used the mount with a trolling motor -- the mount was solid, no wobble, no wiggle. It cost me about $4 dollars to make. Its a better mount than the ones you can buy -- more solid. much cheaper
Nice! I just bought an electric motor for my canoe and I try to replicate your DIY setup. Do you have any updates or hints about to this setup since posting this video? Oh, and I greet you from Helsinki, Finland. 👍
There are alot of diy ideas on you tube in how to build your own canoe trolling motor mount, which seem decent and simple enough, but I was wondering is there a specific reason as to why they are all made to mount off the side of the canoe rather than straight out the back of the canoe? Just easier to build or something to do with performance or something? Thanks
This is one of the best DIY mounts I’ve seen on YT. So nice to see some actual well executed craftsmanship.
Nice work! Good video!
I think you did a fine job with the wooden mount….well thought out
Very nice and simple design. Plan to copy for my 16', good video and to the point

What a great, simple idea for a motor mount for a Canadian canoe, many thanks
I love this idea. Most builds require drilling into the boat or using C clamps.
Nicely Done!
Nice video very helpful
perfect, thanks!
Don't know about up north or Midwest but that's our way in southern Ireland.
Great video! How long the battery lasts?
It was just to give one idea on a build design more than a step by step build

hi, i have the same canoe just wondering what is the shaft length of the motor?
Fancy! I attach my motor with a block of wood on the side.
Depending on wind or choppy water but on average on high power between 3 to 4 hours

They prefer side mount because if the motor is mounted directly behind you it becomes too difficult to reach and use conveniently.
I little diffcult for me to piece together what he was saying. Overall good video, hoping to have my canoe set up this summer.
its an irish accent, wexford I am guessing.
Is that how people talk up north in the midwest?
Good work - shame about the dreadful background noise on the video though….
Good vid its just the music is kinda louder than your voice
