One major problem even with the Renown they said we didn't have to farm - it didn't track if the progress was on a HC character who died, because you had to log into the character to get credit, and so I completed 4/5 regions on a HC character who later died and now I have to regrind it AGAIN if I wanted the credit, which has honestly been one of the biggest reasons I haven't been logging in.
Blizzard: invents a wheel GGG: takes the wheel and builds whole bicycle Blizzard: tries to reinvent the wheel years later, now made out of better materials and more expensive, but it actually comes out as a worse functioning wheel somehow Blizzard apologists: GGG had ten years, you can't compare it, give blizzard some time!!! For all you mfs who do not understand what's wrong with the "but poe been out for ten years" logic. Feel free to read it until you finally get it.
Preach 🙌 Blizzard the multi-billion dollar company that has been making ARPGs for 26 years, who used to be known for taking things from other games and making them better, releases a deeply flawed D4 after 6+ years of development = fanboys: "give them a break for releasing an unfinished and regressed product guys, POE had a 10 year head start!" 🤡
I never heard on Path of Exile until everyone started talking about it since the D4 launch, I just saw a gameplay of Path of Exile and its literally Diablo 1-2 mechanics and I love it, the transparent map the inventory, this is how D4 should have been in the first place.
The CEO of GGG once said: "the best that happened to PoE was the release of Diablo3", because everyone was talking about PoE on social media back then. I think the same will happen to PoE2 in the future, because of the release of Diablo4. D3 and 4 just wasn't what alot of ARPG players wanted and so they started talking about THE alternative :)
i really only tried POE because every Diablo 4 vid i watched said POE was just a better version. they weren't lying. just the amount of personalization and customization you can do. how different you can build each character. its soo good. they give you the power fantasy and they just let you have it. they don't rein it in, they just let u run with it. its great!
There's only literally ONE thing that can save diablo 4 and almost no one will agree with me here even though I'm correct! Focus on being the first ARPG to make PVP good. PVE always eventually gets boring, focus on PVP battlegrounds. 1v1, 2v2, 3v3, 5v5 arenas. and also expand on the current systems. Balance the game around PVP NOT PVE. If Blizzard did that diablo 4 would become one of the best ARPGS ever! Blizzard isn't beating the PVE of other ARPS like POE they shouldn't even try at this point. They had their attempt they failed, now scrap PVE focus and go full PVP focus that's the answer!
@@Jaywin228might i ask how old the diablo franchise is? They had atleast 2 decades worth of experience yet they still can’t produce something better than a decade old game can do. Also PoE was released in 2013 you dolt.

Tomb lord dude does the tornados that doesn't let you do anything, so you have to move out to play the game. I only know because it annoys the hell out of me.
4 of my friends play POE casually, so I don't think it's that bad. I haven't played it myself but they didn't seem to have any problems getting into the game as new players that mainly play fps games.
I said it before and it would have been cool. Echo of Inarius should have been a pinnacle boss, preferably between Elias and Lilith. It would have been cool and not just a boss reskin.
To be honest in the story I would have rather had inarius kill Lilith and have him as the final boss. Honestly the story never made sense lol we were TOLD that Lilith was evil but mostly she didn't do much other than punish inarius's followers.
@@joshuac1876we were constantly told Lilith was evil, but at the same time all she wanted was to end the eternal conflict and protect sanctuary. Would've been cool if we could have allied with her as the lesser of the evils, but it all got wrapped up so cleanly and easily that the only option was to kill her.
I played PoE and I had two builds; one was a Sorcerer build with Goblins or Minions (can't remember what they were called) and I manged to have at least 8 of them out at one time dealing different types of elemental damage. My other build was a "whirlwind" build but I can't remember the class as it has been many years since I last played PoE. On my second build I got to Atlas level 6 and my build was getting strong. The bosses in PoE were badass and even in a big battle arena you could run out of space with the attacks the bosses dished out. Some of the bosses had trash mobs as part of their phases. I remember that when I dropped some great gear for my build at it's level, I felt that I had really deserved that reward after some of the battles were insane. D4 bosses imo are very under par compared to PoE bosses.
I think the minions you're talking about might be golems, as there was the Elementalist spec for the witch which increased the maximum amount of golems you could summon. There are a lot of uniques around golems nowadays too if you ever want to return to PoE.
@Nico78Not yes Golems...I knew it was something like that...been years since I played PoE. I had an OP whirlwind build on PoE which funnily enough the Barbarian on D4 has the same mechanics as that, how ironic. 🤣🤣🤣 I am gonna check PoE out as that was a fun game and free to play.

I think there should be some unique dungeons where you can fight some of the story line bosses post campaign. Like I would enjoy fighting both Andariel and Duriel again outside the campaign.
The most recent league was the first one I played up to the end game, had an absolute blast in it. PoE has so many ways to progress through levelling it almost feels like a roguelike in regards to which league mechanics you choose to engage with as you level and farm end game.
I like POE a lot, though after about ~400 hours across several seasons, I'll admit I haven't really kept up with it. Interested in checking out POE 2, whenever that's released, though.
Poe build guides are still too conplex to a new player. Imo explaning the basics of how the passive tree works with stats in game will make them understand the system better.
There are guides that do that. Pohx's RF builds are probably _the_ best build guides for absolute beginners since he literally has an entire _wiki_ dedicated to his builds, where you can just search your problem and there'll likely be an answer with a solution in there. Zizaran's beginner league starter builds are also quite nice with detailed act-by-act guides on which passives to get first, how you should get your gear, what gems to prioritise, etc.
Yeah tbh, a lot of people recommend using guides (even for a new player) but I just don’t see the fun in it. Trying to find one you like is difficult, complicated and can still be hard to follow. Way more fun to figure it out yourself and look at guides much later when you’re more experienced
ggg said about 12% of players get into mapping after the campaign. Thats more players than play after the campaign in d4, as the devs said that 95% have not even beaten the campaign.
I casual POE and it’s more fun from the get go. A random boss spawn from one of those totem jawns was more interesting than anything that happened in Diablo.
I don't know why there's nothing to do in the big colosseum area in D4. It would have been cool to see that used for spectacle fighting. Jump in and watch people compete in PVP or solo World bosses on a timer for some kind of leaderboard with a final world event that includes all players that are in the stands and have competed. There's a lot of cool design space for D4 to take advantage of and I just hope they do some things that push the envelope of what we expect from ARPG's because they haven't done that yet.
POE did look somewhat intimidating based on the build design. Honestly when i started Diablo IV i felt the same way until level 50 and then i was wanting more! I will be trying AOE2 for sure!
25:24 Follow a build guide, if you want to. But you can progress to the end of act 10 without one, but will probably hit a wall when you hit maps. Then you can try again with what you know, or follow a build guide, or even just look up how to use your favourite skill at the point you are at, you can in all likelihood adapt your build to theirs.
I would like them to expand on the idea around like mini boss randomly spawning on the player or a grief mechanic that lets you spawn a random boss on a player in your friends list and allow you attach a message to the spawn.
Maaan those bosses look scary. I've only gotten a little ways into POE - only a couple acts in. I've been addicted to HC mode since original D2 so I'm quite certain I'm gonna get killed a lot.
Dude... Even all the bosses in diablo 1, diablo 2 and even Titan Quest, were all better than bossing is in D4. Its the simple truth lol. Its kinda funny and ironic, but all that D4 accomplished is bring more people into POE. Its still a victory of sorts for free games. And a FU, to the greedy company we all know about.
I thought the Lilith’s Lament fight at the end Act 1 was pretty cool. I thought the immunity bubble mechanic made the stakes of the fight seem higher than they actually were.
Side note, I love that in asmonds videos \ reactions he leaves in the ad reads from the person he's watching. Hopefully it helps the creators ad performance and gets them better deals on the future
10:20 Shaper the first iconic pinnacle boss? Atziri would like a word. .... Or oldschool Merciless Dominus for that matter. 'Member when PoE only had 3 acts? Yeah. Those were the days. EDIT: 13:00 OK good. Good.
I tried PoE after D4, always heard its super complicated...... and for what I wanted out of it, it was hella easy. I never struggled super hard until getting to like tier 8-14 maps and dying to one shots and struggling to get EXP, I knew there were resources i could look up and all of that to have an easier time, but I was having a blast just doing blight maps and delve, making my own build and looking through the tree and just thinking of spell combinations. So even without having ANY knowledge and even looking into how to REALLY PLAY the game, I still sank 120 hours into playing a SINGLE character and build and could have played more, but after playing POE AND D4, was a bit burnt out on ARPGs XD
@@Jabarri74 Just fell in love with Summon Raging Spirit lol. Only geared and put points into boosting that like crazy until it started not killing things fast enough and started looking into getting defensives
For newcomers to poe if you focus on like 2-3 league mechanics per league in a couple of leagues you will be mosly up to date. I mean there is no reason to do everyone of them, especially now when you can just remove them on the atlas. While i agree about the bosses in D4 i really liked the design of Elias and The Curator but you only face them once in the capstone dungeons sadly.
I am a casual POE player. I'm in act six or so, but have been casually playing since before they added the seven acts. It IS great, but so many choices make it difficult to optimize. And I'm not a type to follow a build, so such is my fate.
Decided to do my first playthrough of Poe recently , after dropping 300 hours into d4. I'm lvl 40 in poe , I come up with my own wicked necromancer build , and it's going AWESOME so far. So many skills it's amazing. But my question is..I'm lvl 40 , when will I finish the tutorial??? Lol
After the 10 act you start maping and play the content you want you can block everycontent you dont want to play and give more chance to play the mecanic you like with the atlas tree
Ahhhh, lol appreciate the answer guys 😆 so far I've been loving it..I've had Poe downloaded for a long time now, but I have been saving it. I'm glad I did lol
very causal it takes me about a week to get through 1-10 acts on PoE still love it and try every season with a new stupid build i've thought about. with some idea crafting from guides.
I tend to rush the 10 acts, but end up spending a week in white maps trying out stupid builds and do yellow maps later to get more resources to fuck around in white maps some more. I've killed uber elder once and thank god for trading, because hard bosses are not for me.
@@MrJonne2000 i wish i could do the 10 acts faster but i am not that good :p 7-9 are very slow for me. mostly beacuse i forget to update my gear beacuse it does not have enough gem slots.
1,000 hours in PoE now, and honestly, I would say I play it casually. Rarely if ever do I trade, I usually get to maps and then yellow before burning out and getting tired of it, and some leagues I don't even get to maps. :D
I never feel overwhelmed with PoE when i go back to it. I simply get bored on my second play through of the story. That being said I think its probably the best of its style of game.
I honestly had a ton of fun trying to fight the world tier 3 and 4 capstone dungeon bosses with my own build while a bit underleveled (40 and 60). I'm hoping for more of that kind of content, but there isnt much of that in the game at the moment...
I really hope they add more endgame in season 2...i really hope blizzard have been looking at the numbers of players/ the decline, numbers of ppl watching d4 streams...all should tell the same story..we are missing content. d4 is poop compared to poe..
ok d4 has all these problems and thay're valid, but there's also numbers of problems with poe. I mean even GGG knows them and changed them for the poe2, no unified currency, skills and skill progression tied to gear, etc. if you have played ANY game other than poe you feel uneasy at best. torchlight, titan quest, grim dawn, lost ark, last epoch, NO game has these kinds of problems, basically primal problems. that's why thay're changing them, adding skill slot and money to poe2. tying skills to gear and making it super limited, that's a bigger problem in my opinion.
As a player who started crucible league, I loosely followed Pohx RF Jugg guide. Choosing my own skill points based on what was best for me at the moment and doing that I was able to go beat 80% of the content.
5:36 it is still total garbage. Look how the cone is shaped... in front of him, not AROUND him. how sshould you know, that you will get obliterated from a cone in front of him, around him...
I was really hoping diablo 4 would steal the progresssion and systems in PoE and expand upon it in their own way. But that blizzard doesnt exist anymore.
That wasn't Blizzard, it was Blizzard North, a group of developers from the Bay Area California. They weren't the same people who made Wartcraft/Starcraft etc.
I quit Diablo 4 to play POE and I do not regret it. I had 200 hours in the game at the time, 400 now. Still haven’t beaten the campaign - I am in Act 7 I believe - but I haven’t tried because I have become addicted to Delves and Heists and getting items for my build via trading. I would be playing it more if I wasn’t working on the PC. Highly recommended.
Maybe we are seeing a bit of a similar situation with GGG and Larian. These studios are built around a specific genre game and do them really well. I do not know the specifics at Blizzard, but I'm willing to bet that in the name of profits, they have teams switching back and forth between genres all the time.
Sorry, my English isn't that good. POE is such an incredibly good game. The first time I completed the story in hardcore was so satisfying. I have no idea how many runs I needed before. 7 - 10 maybe. After that I took a break for months because I didn't want to lose the character. Came back, just wanted to level up a bit and died in 5 minutes. I love it !!!!
solo world bosses is actually an interesting idea for pinnacle bosses even with reused content. "you see that thing that takes 12 people to beat? do it solo, and it has more mechanics that are focused on you." also when they announced world bosses, I expected like 10-20, or at least 5 or 6 that you can basically chain if you want, like one every 30 minutes to an hour.
Yeah, they failed big time on the whole world boss aspect, they should at the very least spawn once every 1-2 hours instead of once every 6 hours, not to mention the lack of a functional timer, nah they only show a timer when there's 30 min or less till they spawn, but the worst part of all is definitely the lack of good bosses to fight. For real, only 3?? They limited what should be one of the biggest mechanics in the game to 3 different world bosses?? They don't even feel too special.
@@MrHuntingClaw tbh they could make it like guild wars and have guild spawns. I don't think they implemented one of the decent features of diablo immortal which is warbands. if you could get a 12 player warband or 2 6 players and summon world bosses after doing some dungeons or something, it would be great.
I don't like the aesthetic of PoE at all tbh. I don't necessarily like the aesthetic of D4 either. Honestly I'd love a good ARPG in the style of Ragnarok Online (I already play Ragnarok Mobile but it hardly scratches the ARPG itch). Looking forward to Blue Protocol more than anything. I can overlook a lot if the character and world designs are visually pleasing/comfy.
If they would make it easy to respec in POE thats what I would be playing. I like to start with my own build then change to a meta build when I feel I need to. My character sucks and it means basically starting a new one. I really don't have the amount of time POE needs.
@@11037-alex how many hours of grinding early midgame content on my bad character would it take to buy a full respec? It's pretty stupid. Why even have that barrier?
@@DWAC nothing really, it just saves you some currency. I think the campaign gives you 12 respec points. You can get these respec points with regret orbs that drop naturally or you can buy them from vendors for scour orbs which also drop naturally, if you play trade you can buy from other players. Overall it has miniscule affects whether you use the campaign respec points or not
19:40 looks like they never heard of "make the hitbox smaller than the visual for enemy attacks, and bigger for the allied attacks" (and for waves, you can make it slightly trail by like 100ms) they could make it deal progressive damage, like take a tick every 1/10th of a sec, first tick you take 10% of your max hp, then 20% then 30%, then 40% etc... you'll die in 4-5 hits, so like half a second, but you have some time to move or be imprecise, but you're still punished for it. (though they are too fast for that, but you could make it do like 50% in the first half and 50% on the second half of the wave.)
@@getoutofmylobby4347 Nope, they increased the amount you can get from side quests and dungeons, and if you have the exploration and statues from eternal realm,it literally takes 3-4 hours at worst to complete all(if you're smart you can combine it with Tree of Whispers activities).
POE is nuts, came has evolved so much, i started to play before act 3 was released and didnt play for 2 years and still has evolved so much. I do think they should make something for the newer players so they would not get overwhelmed, like option to streamlined passives or skills and when kitava dies you can unlock real POE. Also 2nd char from league should be automatically camp completed, getting tired of making that camp all over again.
Better than having to buy stashes in PoE, they cost as much as D4 even more. Not to mention PoE skins are infinitely more expensive. 500 dollar bundle anyone ? 🤣
@@didakis And yet You start off with as many stash tabs in PoE as you do in D4 (without grinding all the gold for them), and each additional one costs you 5-10$, just remember that you paid 70+$ for 4 stash tabs and to uselessly load the entire server's as well as yours (and if you haven't figured it out, at no point do you load other players' stashes in PoE). Because you were underleveled. I did it on 68 with a blizzard sorc and i just stayed in 1 place and killed it in 20 sec ( from what i remembered) it did only 1 attack that i blocked with my barrier and that was it. Also, i didn't try to lvl up intentioannly for that, i just did the story and open world before i went for capstone.... i didn't know ir didn't scale. I had lvl 45-47 items. I guess the aspect that gives 30% dmg for standing still also made ir much more easier. But yeah... most boss fighta until NM 30 were just afk 1 shots. Most even died before they were staggered😂😂😂 6-7 blizzards on them + a deep freeze and they would die before the 5 second of the deepd freeze ran out😢
One of my favorite D4 moments was when I was just walking around and I ran into a random boss. Not a world boss event, just a boss walking around. It was sick. I’ve played 250 hours and it’s only happened once. Also the mechanics were cool but it was too easy.
My only issue with PoE is that character building is extreamly difficult for new players. I used like several addons to try and mid max my character and I still got my ass kicked

One major problem even with the Renown they said we didn't have to farm - it didn't track if the progress was on a HC character who died, because you had to log into the character to get credit, and so I completed 4/5 regions on a HC character who later died and now I have to regrind it AGAIN if I wanted the credit, which has honestly been one of the biggest reasons I haven't been logging in.
i mean your character died what do you want all your items back to?
In poe hc, you only lose your character, not your bank or any progress that would be used on another character

You can totally play PoE casually, like just progress through maps and never do end-bosses.
And how old are these two games?
@@ZerbersterleinHow old Diablo 3?

You don't sink 200 hours in PoE. You sink 4 or 6000.
Then don’t read them. Use official in-game help and learn the game yourself.
Yeah tbh, a lot of people recommend using guides (even for a new player) but I just don’t see the fun in it. Trying to find one you like is difficult, complicated and can still be hard to follow. Way more fun to figure it out yourself and look at guides much later when you’re more experienced
It's still wild to me that I used to go to game dev conferences with the PoE guys before they released the game! Who knew they'd do so well!
ggg said about 12% of players get into mapping after the campaign. Thats more players than play after the campaign in d4, as the devs said that 95% have not even beaten the campaign.
I casual POE and it’s more fun from the get go. A random boss spawn from one of those totem jawns was more interesting than anything that happened in Diablo.
Pretty sure i ran like 20 dungeons today & 18 of them were the Tomb Lord boss lol
Or the blood bishop 😅
I watched your videos and started playing Poe. Really enjoyed it. Doing maps tier 4-5
That would be sick
POE did look somewhat intimidating based on the build design. Honestly when i started Diablo IV i felt the same way until level 50 and then i was wanting more! I will be trying AOE2 for sure!

Follow a build guide, if you want to.

Did you kill Uber Uber Shaper?
ok d4 has all these problems and thay're valid, but there's also numbers of problems with poe.
After playing D4 for about 100+hrs, now I just wait for POE2.

solo world bosses is actually an interesting idea for pinnacle bosses even with reused content.
"you see that thing that takes 12 people to beat? do it solo, and it has more mechanics that are focused on you."
also when they announced world bosses, I expected like 10-20, or at least 5 or 6 that you can basically chain if you want, like one every 30 minutes to an hour.

I guess the aspect that gives 30% dmg for standing still also made ir much more easier. But yeah... most boss fighta until NM 30 were just afk 1 shots. Most even died before they were staggered😂😂😂 6-7 blizzards on them + a deep freeze and they would die before the 5 second of the deepd freeze ran out😢
"have you ever seen the sun exile" i lol'd
I hated PoE when it launched and haven’t touched it since, but after D4 I am thinking about trying it again
Bro u kno new players for Poe just dnt want to have to turn on a whole other device in order to make sense of a game
Hey, there were a couple stronghold bosses that were neat. Kind of. Remotely
One of my favorite D4 moments was when I was just walking around and I ran into a random boss. Not a world boss event, just a boss walking around. It was sick. I’ve played 250 hours and it’s only happened once. Also the mechanics were cool but it was too easy.
The butcher?
Like you mean the butcher that was present in d3 etc.?
Wow, fun once in 250hours.
My best moment was when i uninstalled it and bought grim dawn, 3 weeks ago. Grim dawn, what an awesome arpg.
Was it one of those kill random monster bosses?
@@MrTirien What is even better are the absolutely massive mods that exist there, you could play that game for a very long time.
You see how PoE is good when someone pick a 2023 game to compare with a 2013 game.
Imagine what PoE2 will do with the scenario...
My only issue with PoE is that character building is extreamly difficult for new players. I used like several addons to try and mid max my character and I still got my ass kicked
