Never allow them to actually “TAKE” your passport. They can take a color photo copy that’s fine but being at the will of someone you don’t know who has your passport and refuses to give it back, maybe because there’s a misunderstanding or problem and now he wants more money and may refuse to return ur passport back until he gets some kind of compensation for something you did or maybe didn’t do to the bike. If they refuse a photocopy of ur passport…keep moving! Many other places will accept a photocopy
Do thailand race tracks like changrai raceway circuit have bikes and gear for rent to ride their tracks? I agree city like bangkok and pattaya in thailand traffic is not really big bike friendly
@@KingKeller2 Yeah that’s always A good idea you sound like you have traveled a decent amount. I always try to bring lots of copies of everything in color ink wherever I go. Whether or not I lose those copies it’s a different story hahaha . But I’ve also had situations where I was really happy to have copies

Just because you can rent something doesnt mean you suddenly are experienced to drive heavy bikes.. run around in heavy traffic in fast speed, without any security equipment. Also giving away your passport only clueless dudes do, as it is illegal to not have it on you all the time.. i can see why people die and crash a lot.

I always carry some preprinted copies of my passport just in case and it came useful

Another idea is to make copies of your passport and give the copy to them. My wife is from bangkok and this is what she told me to do.
