Jay!!!!! I remember when this car was in LRM! I had pages of that issue plus many many more i had ripped from the magazine taped to my Bedroom wall (drove moms and pops crazy) lol. Your Caprice,"Gypsy rose,The "Santana", and "Not Guity (just to name a few) are the reason i feel in love with lowriding!!! Truly love this car.
Hey Jay thank you for taking your time to create this video, I have a 1989 Caprice Brougham and looking to start out with a 2 pump setup, will be my first Juiced car man im excited! Mr. Quija is sick!
Hi Car Guys New England, I have been a fan of Lowriders since I was a kid and always wondered how they worked. Thanks for the video. I have two questions 1. Can one use or find 48V motors for the pumps that pumps the fluid at the same pace to avoid damaging the 12V motors and solenoids making the components last longer and minimizing risk. 2. Can you make a video where you hit the switches and show which cylinders they effect and how to make the car hop? (Front to back left to right three wheel hopping etc.)
Thanks for the introductory video, I was thinking of placing some hydraulics in a shopping cart, you heard that right a shopping cart. Art. What kind of parts would i need?
Correct. I’ve seen some people keep their rear shocks in but they just end up broken eventually. You can weld shock brackets on the frame and lower control arms up front but it’s going to kill hopping action
I just got a 64 impala (4door) I just have a few questions, I’m seriously considering hydraulics 1- I’m a beginner. I want to do front back, side , side and 3 wheel motion. I read below that 2 pump 4 dump would work for that? Also, what are the cons of hydraulics? I’ve read they leak. Do they go bad? Will I ever have to replace the entire set up? And what maintenance do I need to do to the hydraulics if any? Thank you, again awesome video.
Marco you’ll need to charge batteries which can take a bit, you will get leaks and occasionally need to change cylinder seals, hoses ect. As far as maintenance changing the hydraulic fluid yearly and wiping out the tanks inside of metal bits. That’s all the fun stuff.
thanks for the great introductory video. i've been a fan of lowriders since i was a jit and am thinking about starting my first lowrider build. this video explained everything in a simple manner. what would you recommend as a starter set up - 2 pumps, 4 batteries or 3 pump, 6 batteries? a friend from LA recommended the 3 pump 6 battery set up as my first set up but im interested in what you would recommend. thanks again
Alejandro Sosa the collar that is threaded onto the cylinder body worked its way apart. When I went to lift the car instead of lifting the car the cylinder body went through the rear deck and out the back window
@@carguysnewengland i got you i get em confused but your video is very informing man. im saving up for a 59 impala build thats my dream car. im from new mexico a city here is considered lowrider capital of the world so one day ill be hittin switches too
I dont know much of anything about lowriders but im curious why they use so many pumps and simple on off dump fluid and not something like solenoids in manifold it could have a electric pump and resivor than you could still have switches like on wheel lift uses ive never seen anything multi pumps like a boss v plow thats one pump several functions
Himmat Bahia drop the car down. It's bad for cylinder seals, dump seals and our hoses leaving the car up... otherwise you may come back to a mess. Also it's much safer to leave the car down as you could crush children or animals that may go u dear the car.
If you plan to hop or three wheel then yes absolutely reinforce the frame... also GM cars have a huge issue with the rear frame ears tearing off the frame... that will happen regardless eventually
What if you were to put a pelteir module the back of the hydraulic motor to keep it cool. Or also known as tech it gets hot on one side and cool on the other their use in computer and mini refrigerator U should look if up computer water cool system.some drop down to 17 digrees
I’m fantasy’ing about hydraulics on my car (ford focus lol), also fwd, but i guess even if it would get mounted properly, that the jumping and extreme joint movements will mess everything up month after month. Fwd cars already have quite a complex mechanism at the wheels to allow for steering movement & the drivetrain to pass through. If you go launch your car in the air and let it bounce nonstop i’m pretty sure stuff is going to break nonstop.
That's seems I little old I would keep the Aden dumps and get black magic hydraulics and new batteries ijs clean car tho super nice my highschool car was a 1982 Cadillac fleet wood with the 90s front clip and 4 pumps 12 batteries but she flipped off a trailer clean car tho
That setup you have in this video is the best of the best

LaZzLow that's awesome! Thank you for watching bro! As time and money allows I plan on redoing the entire car again
Very good explanation and teaching! Best I've seen yet.

Great info. I'm new to low riding and the details in this vid is priceless!
I see i needed to start at hydraulic 100
095 for me
Haha
003 for me

What car are you planning on juicing?
Car Guys New England a shopping cart
@@junkiekiller9002 lol
I remember this car, wasn't the build on layitlow? Nice box 👍🏽👍🏽
carlitocacf yes it was, it was also featured in LRM
So the car will have no shock absorber anymore after putting hydraulics on? Just the springs with the hydraulic cilinder on top of it?
Correct. I’ve seen some people keep their rear shocks in but they just end up broken eventually. You can weld shock brackets on the frame and lower control arms up front but it’s going to kill hopping action

2 pump 4 dump setup and 4 group 31 batteries
going hit the streets hard man
Nice video brotha can u explain a lil more on what u mean when you went to raise the car and something went out the back window?
Alejandro Sosa the collar that is threaded onto the cylinder body worked its way apart. When I went to lift the car instead of lifting the car the cylinder body went through the rear deck and out the back window
@@carguysnewengland damn thats crazy and also if im correct you want the slow dump to drop your car slower then when it raises?
Alejandro Sosa slow down valves control how fast the system will dump.

What would you recommend for a 2016 Chevy Malibu Lt 4 door sedan 1.5L DOHC?
What do you guys do for the steering alinement at my ride hight its good but droped or raised it totally changes the driving quality

The hydraulics should be kept up or all the way down when parking the vehicle for a week or so??? or does it not matter ?
Himmat Bahia drop the car down. It's bad for cylinder seals, dump seals and our hoses leaving the car up... otherwise you may come back to a mess. Also it's much safer to leave the car down as you could crush children or animals that may go u dear the car.
What hydraulic system would you recommend for a 96 fleetwood ?
Depends on your own experience... have you ever had a car with hydraulics? A simple two pump 4 dump system is good for beginners. F-B-S--S
Car Guys New England yes I'm a beginner thats why i appreciate your info ! Would I need to reinforce the frame ?
If you plan to hop or three wheel then yes absolutely reinforce the frame... also GM cars have a huge issue with the rear frame ears tearing off the frame... that will happen regardless eventually
How much would a set up like that run me ? Ball park figure ?
@@carguysnewengland Now I know what the pump in the pump and dump phrase is after watching this video. What's a dump though?

Can you put hydraulics on a FWD
Yes

I like your video if you can do one on step by step how to hook up the switches in your car. Mine is a 84 cutlass supreme
I will remember that next time I wire up a switch box or panel...
great video!
I love this car.... My dream car
Where are you located

Alejandro Sosa naw my dad the trailer had bad tires but couldn’t tell cause the tread was goid n they dry rotted on the inside
