The 1959 Buick is such a beautiful car! They broke the mold after they made this one! Manufacturers shifted their focus onto economy, lightening vehicles and fuel economy so much that cars really lost a lot of beauty through the 80's and on up.
The view of the 59 Buick from behind is so Grand! It looks like a bird spreading it's wings to take off. What an awesome car!

Not wishing to dampen enthusiasm, but spring metallurgy is pretty important. So softening an end sufficiently to bend it flat, you run the risk of having the metallic structure changing along its length. The repeated stress cycles seen by the spring may well result in a failure near the heated portion. You might get away with it if the heating process doesn't go over an important theshold where the crystal structure changes significantly.

The "junk in the trunk" looks more like treasure. It reminded me of that scene in Pulp Fiction where Tim Roth beholds the (luminous something) in that brief case and asks: "Is that what I think it is?" Another fabulous episode. I love how the installation worked out. I like the idea that the ride is the same at any height.
If those are real knockoff wheels, please check for tightness regularly. I had a Vette with knockoffs, and would check them at every fill of the gas tank. That turned out not to be enough, and as a result, I lost a wheel in the middle of nowhere (Northern Ontario). So, part two, have a plan for replacing the wheel, if you lose one and a replacement wheel and nut aren't easily available.

love this car, You can't beat the Buicks especially in their hay day. They were very popular cars and still are.. My all time favorite is the 59,or 60 Fury with the bucket seats that swivelled and the unique space aged dash, and rectangular steering wheel. With a 426 Max Wedge motor. I'd prefer the two toned blue on white but nevertheless this 58 Buick is a gem. I'd own one myself if I didn't love my Trucks and my wifes convertible.I only have so much room in my driveway. LOL but if I can ever afford it, I'd love to own a Buick Fury from that era. THEY DEFINITELY DON'T MAKE THEM LIKE THEY USE TOO. THAT'S FOR DERN SURE.

I'm a nailhead guy all the way, but wasn't crazy about the 59. Those nailhead engines were impressive, once you could ditch the DynaSlo transmission. I used a 3 spd for my swap into a 47 Chev in 1961. The engine was indestructible. Transmission.....not so much. I regret ever selling that car.

I LOVE seeing cars like this become lowriders. GM built so many cool cars besides impalas g bodies and 77-96 cadillacs. I hope people become more of an individual and try to make a lowrider nobody else will have.
