You guys are the best golf instructors on the internet, my game improved a lot by watching your videos. Great job!🎉
@@candyyang4176 holy cow did you just make our day! So thrilled that you feeling nice 🙏❤️
I turned a naysaying, stubborn skeptic on to your UA-cam instruction and am now being bombarded with breathless swing analysis he has gleaned from your videos. Good work
Wow!! Freaking awesome! So fun working systems and hitting proper balls! Lesgo!
First discovered Riley on Milos videos and instantly liked his style and approach. You guys are going to the moon and I'm here for it.
Appreciate you more than you know bro 🙏 to the moon!! 🌙
I agree.
This is so revealing it almost brings me to tears. The physics being explained are top shelf level teaching.
Fantastic! Let us know how this correlates to strike for you! Always eager to hear 🙏❤️
You guys are the best. I've learned so much about the golf swing. Love your communication style. Keep up the good work!
Thank you so much!! Please keep us posted if you have any questions!
This is one of THE best golf instruction channels. Great explanations presented in easy to understand language. Love it!!!
Fantastic!!! So glad you’re enjoying!! Keep us posted as you worth through some of the concepts! 🙏
I’m in the process of setting up some private instruction with y’all so someone from your staff will be getting updates for sure 😀
@@christophermonnikendam5326 let’s go!!! Honored to get working with you!!!
Three trips to the range using this information and killing it. Alas, played nine holes and the sweetness from the range turned bitter. I concluded, on the course I reverted back to old habits. For me, in order for your lesson to work I feel I need to hold the shoulders in check for a fraction longer in transition.
Fantastic! And keep playing with principles to better understand them! Exciting!
I am already a golf swing nerd. Now, after watching many of your videos, I’m an even bigger golf swing nerd. 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Hahahah we love nerds!!!
I really like your approach to coaching the golf swing. I have been trying to alter my swing for 3 years trying to change from my inside to out club head path, closed club face at impact, early extended, early flip swing with right to left ball flight (right handed). Based on your videos, I am able to keep my elbows in front of my torso in the backswing and in transition with the “hub” moving out and the “center of mass” moving back and down. However, when I do this and my hands move further out, my club head path travels further out resulting in a shank. To be clear, I don’t consciously move the hub out and mass back. They move there as a result of the body and arm movements you describe. I would love to have explained what needs to happen once I get to p5 and beyond to impact with my hub further out in order to correctly complete the system and make pure contact?
So the bottom line is: I can comfortably perform the body and arm positions you describe in this video and I agree that this is what I need to do in order to improve my swing. However, there seems to be something that I’m missing. If you would address this I would greatly appreciate it.
Thank you
Biggest item to manage with this type of pattern explained in this video is space away from the ball. Make sure the COM of the ribs stays away based on thoracic rotation ❤️❤️❤️ appreciate the thoughtful response!!!
Thank you very much for responding. Have you made a video that would help me understand COM of the ribs staying away that you would recommended I watch? Because in this video you discuss COM of the club and hand/hub paths. Do I want to actively move the hand/hub path back in after it moves out at P5?
@@victorr.-lm7xv I think it’s time we made one!!!
This is so freaking good!! Finally understanding the flippy patterns and early body extension I have been plagued with forever. Thanks Riley and TJ
My man Dougie!!!!
10:19 am E. Great vid as always. There is a need to understand the difference between how to manage hands and the club head behavior it dictates. Observing only swing paths when attempting to learn from coaches like your team is clearly not sufficient intake. Excellent instruction. Thanks.
Lots of data that goes into understanding each person's personal system huh?! Thanks for the comment!!
Fantastic! Understanding this solved the issue I have had with the club slightly steepening in the downswing.. I have tried all kinds of things to try and shallow the club and nothing has worked for me at speed.. This hub/mass concept and the thought of the hub moving out in transition made the slight change I needed - Club head now falling down into a great position behind the hands. Thank you
Fantastic! So excited for you my man!!!
Really enjoying this series! Glad you shed light on the club center of mass vs hub path bcs it cleared up a huge point of confusion for me. Thank you!
Wonderful dude! Glad it’s helping
Awesome videos as always. I have a video request. Is there any chance you could make a follow along video of doing the correct swing sequence? Repeating the beginning movements for a certain number of reps then moving to the next sequence until you get to the full flow of the swing. Kind of like an exercise video. Keep up the good work!
You ask and shall receive 🙏🙏
Since I started 2 years ago, Iv changed UA-cam instructors a ridiculous amount lol now that I just follow your videos, my game is really starting to improve. Thank you
I appreciate it bro! Keep it up
These guys have helped me improve so much. The way you explain things has been exactly what I’ve needed. I’ve found maybe two accounts so far on UA-cam who only explain this well. Going to be able to break 80 in the next few weeks with practice and than hopefully par soon after. All I was missing was the correct explanation. You hear everyone say straight back and straight forward but it’s so much more than that. I’ve never had such a beautiful draw on all my shots before throughout my whole bag. More excited than ever to play the game. Keep em comings
Let’s go!!!! Keep us posted on your progress homie!!
I took a lesson with your man Dan a few weeks ago. Probably the best lesson I’ve ever had. Exchanged a few texts with him afterwards and he recommended this video. He was spot on. So good. Thank you!
Love your content. Keep it going!
Dan is the MAN! And thank you so much for working with us! Let us know if you ever have any questions for us!
I found you through Milo’s videos and love both channels. You both have a similar philosophy regarding the swing, but have a different way of explaining the same things (both ways are great and compliment each other). Since I have a background in kinesiology and physical therapy, I love the description from that standpoint which you provide. I’ve had a difficult time with previous “in person” lessons because I couldn’t grasp concepts the way they were explaining them. I was told that I was “thinking too much” about the wrong things (because I kept asking about things from a kinesiology standpoint). I was super frustrated until I found y’all and Milo. I even went back and discussed this with my former pro/teacher so he would be better prepared to deal with someone like me in the future. I’m also recommending your channel to my friends. Thanks again and I look forward to new content. Would love to receive personalized instruction in the future but can’t swing it at this time (see what I did there 🤣).
Appreciate the comment bro. Glad you’re enjoying!
Hello just found your site, after a dozen videos to get your drift and 100 balls at range I cannot believe how good I am striking the ball, I knew almost everything you discussed but never was able to piece it all together, brilliant explanations from you both, would be great to see some hub and centre of mass graphics on screen from front and dtl sort of curves to follow ? Thanks Steve
Wonderful!! So happy that you are experiencing some great shots working through the ideas! Exciting!
These videos are world class! I’m watching everything from Milo and Elite, and pretty much ignoring the rest! Keep ‘em coming!
Milo is the best! We’ll do our best to keep ‘em coming!
@@elitegolfschools I was lucky enough to play a couple of rounds with Milo when I flew out there to work with him. The sound he makes with a driver is unlike anything I’ve ever heard, and that includes numerous PGA ProAms!
I can safely say I do more experimenting with movements and feels after watching your videos than any other videos on the web. Awesome stuff guys.
Me too!
Appreciate it!
You guys are great! What you walked through reminds me of my favorite quote from Pete Cowen. "We want to managed the mass of the club, so it's useful."
Love it!
A couple of suggestions for future content:
- Taking this system to greenside bunkers
- How you fix common problems: chicken wing, collapsing right arm on back swing, etc.
- More videos with Milo (those were awesome!)
- More on short game
We can certainly do that bro
Constantly coming back to you guys for these concepts. You always get me back on track. Seems like there’s many ways to go steep to shallow but this is the most efficient way. Love it!
Much appreciated man! Keep up the good work
You two guys are a breath of fresh air in what is now a world of confusing, contradicting instruction. For years I've been advise to bring my hands close to my target side pocket on the way through impact. This lesson today has 'blown a hole' in that bad advice. When I think about it 'keeping the hands close to the body through the impact zone' only encourages the dreaded 'roll-over of the hands'. I enjoy your method of teaching....every aspect of your instruction is substantiated with excellent logic (and non patronizing humor!).
We appreciate this comment so much ❤️ thank you
Best golf instruction ever. Not just demonstrated, but explained. Thanks j. price
I appreciate you john!
As a PGA club Pro in Sweden i just must say guys, You are Fantastic! I been teaching in nearly 35 years and i still learn so much from you:
Thank You for sharing !!!!
Thank you so much!!
I think this illustration of the hub path gives me even better insight to the principles you guys are teaching. Keep it up!!
Thank you!!
After watching this video again , I’ve picked up on the hub path and center of mass. I think I was guilty of the hub and center of mass in transition pointing at the target .
Now I understand the hub would be almost a 45% angle between ball and target with center mass behind you . Almost like a slingshot motion with the chest rotation . Just need to work on this and my hands hub coming around my body , not straight towards the target .
Thank you for the amazing detail with all your videos …
Greatly appreciated !
Ohhh yes love the video and hand path is mind blowing. Sooo much more stable and more natural - thanks
Let’s go!! So excited for you!!
I think the “hands out in transition” is very consistent with the “hip flexion and thoracic bend” move you guys teach in transition as well. It’s all part of the proper body movements to support a more rotational swing. Great stuff! Thanks for sharing 👊👊.
Definitely! That’s what causes the hands out. It’s just nice for players to have a full map of what’s going on
You guys are frigging genius. My new favorite golf learning site. Everything I've been struggling to get and understand you have explained in detail. Thank you for posting these videos. Just awesome!!!!
You're the best! Thanks for the kind comments and hit them well!
This is PURE GOLD!!!
Let’s go!!
I can’t wait to learn more! Wanting more on the sit or drop, and getting the club head down to and through the ball. Best golf instruction I’ve ever seen!
Bro thank you so much 🙏
Thanks guys, this helps a lot. Great tuition , clear understanding. I'm off to put this into practice. I've liked and subscribed - good luck with your channel.
Welcome aboard!
This video blew my mind. I've had to watch it like 3x. So, I still want that "inside loop" but with the club center of mass, not the hands. The hands actually work a counterclockwise motion which (equal and opposite) causes the club to move clockwise.
I always found I struck the ball better with the motion you show here and thought I was way over the top (even though I was rarely hitting slices). So, my takeaway is hands work in and up which gets you steep going back, to then the hands work out and down which shallows the club down.
Yes!! Big lightbulbs
This is super informative. Thanks for making it. I figured this our on the range the other day and was looking for more information about it. I thought I was crazy but I just piping it. This is a great video!!!
Fantastic! So great to hear the gains!
Just from a visual perspective, and I know momentum and forces are absent from the drills, what happens exactly from the top of the swing down to the ball? Visually, it looks like the "hub" can't get down to the hitting area in time for the strike. I'd love to see an explanation of how this happens! Love your videos! Keep up the good work!
Drop and bend bro!
I have been able to quit watching other golf videos (except Milo) because of how well you explain the swing. Improving because of them. Thank you!
We appreciate you so much bro 🙏
This is basic fundamentals that we dont see in golf instruction as much as we should, pure pure content as always guys............
You're the best! Thanks so much!
I wish this was available when I learnt to play 40 years ago. It’s hard to change patterns but working on it. Have my 13 year old just getting into golf and watching your videos.
Let’s go! Start em young 🙏
Great video! I had a breakthrough in understanding - thanks!
We love those lightbulb moments
I love hearing the “Why” to golf movement!
Right on!!! Got to have that in our opinion 🙏❤️
You guys got it going on.
You the man!!!
I just found you guys and it was a perfect time for me as I am looking to make a swing change. You guys do a great job in explaining your swing method. Can’t wait to get to the driving range and get to work .
Welcome aboard!
Great video! Hands from in to out just isn’t talked about by most. As usual, you guys explain things in a simple yet very insightful way!
Thank you!
I’ve been thinking about this a lot this year! It’s great you’re hitting in this and that you don’t even touch on it on broadcasts when showing paths. They focus on the club head and the only way you can get your club head in the right spot is to think about your hands! Have you ever done any research or drills with the focus being where the handle is pointing throughout swing? I’ve found focusing on where the handle is pointing gives me the best “feel” to get the club head in the right place throughout the whole swing.
Right on! Got to know where that clubbed is in space!
Congrats on your milestone! Really keen videos you have posted. Fun to watch TJ modify his swing to emulate others.
Awesome! And thank you so much for the love 🙏🙏🙏
As someone who's main fault is early extension, this makes so much sense. I've been trying to get my path in to out with my hands but get stuck and the only way to hit the ball is by early extending. I will definitely be working on my hub path vs club path! Keep up the great work guys!
Let’s go!! 🔥
I thought your presentation on hand path was one of the best I've watched - thank you for the content
Glad it was helpful!
Perfect timing on this video! I have been working on a swing that somewhat mimics victors because I love his swing. A great explanation on that. Thanks!
Hope it’s going well bro!
I play off +1, I used to coach. Never has anyone explained hub path (until now).
Love learning, just wish I knew about this years ago (as my hub gets stuck!) love the videos guys, thank you 🇦🇺 🤙🏼💯
You got it my friend!
Great video showing the connections between hand path and com of the club. Paradym changing information!!
Right on! Hit em well!
Fascinating video. Many years ago an old golf instructor told me that Hogan's hand path went out in the downswing. I thought he was out of his mind because that was an over the top move....and Hogan was NOT over the top to my eyes.. Guess the old guy was ahead of his time. Really enjoying the journey with you gentlemen.
Right?? Kinda trippy when you think about it
Guys, you have some of the most incredibly insightful content . Absolutely lightbulb going off ,game changing. Im finally finding the space and getting trail elbow in front. In a future video can you breakdown the sequencing globally. Trying to understand if weight shift occurs before pelvic drop , also when does leg circle and get outta the way to clear hips etc. TY
Check out the video, “Global Golf Swing Principles” if you haven’t already. Should help
Fella’s fella’s fella’s 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 I have been following your instruction over the last few weeks. This I feel is the missing bit of information I needed. Managed break 80 for the first time in years thanks to the improvements in my swing and mainly consistency. Have always struggled with early extension, but feel I understand why now. Was taught to drop the hands into trail hip pocket. Cue chunks, push blocks and duck hooks.
Bingo!! 💡
This new hub path map for me feels so right & instantly makes all the other quality moves much easier to accomplish.
A hidden Gem of advice that is so often practiced completely the other way round.
Appreciate it bro! Glad it helped
This is VERY similar to Stuart Cartwright's teachings. Bravo. 👏
🙏🙏🙏🙏
Awesome video! 🔥 I use to be the guy who tried to jam the arm down and back to hit draws. I’ve been trying to work out of that for a while. Keep up the good videos!
Thanks so much! Hit them well!
I appreciate the explanation. This feeling is what helped me with the driver and long irons. The compression off the fairway woods and long irons is great and even better with short irons. I am feeling more rotation than ever with some lateral movement that is more automatic, I tended to stay on my back foot. Biggest change was moving my trail hand more on top and not underneath. The stronger grip was fine with the woods and driver but proved more difficult with the irons especially the wedges. My lead hand is 2.5 to three knuckles with my trail hand on the side slightly on top. I feel the bounce working with all my irons with shallow divots, rare fat shots with the thin to win still getting to the green or close. Now if I can just get to working the ball when I need a fade. Draw is now a baby draw or a slight push to the right. Thanks for the amazing content!
We appreciate you bro ❤️
@@elitegolfschools Question. I would like to know if my slightly stronger trail hand with the driver, more on the side not on top seems to benefit me more with the woods and driver. With the irons I find that trail hand is better more on top. Is this reasonable ? When I put my hand on the side with the irons the shot is thin or I will pull draw it. Thoughts?
This will sound weird but I have had success hitting good shots while trying to slice the ball. After watching this video it occurred to me that what I was doing was moving my hand path outward as you described.
i look forward to your videos every week! please post swing analyses and / or lessons!
Good idea!
Again, great video and well explained! I also love how it all the videos are somewhat connected. The hub-path feels like a more detailed explanation / demo of the "killshot" move you explained in your other video :)
Hoping more connections like this get made in future videos for you 🙏
I'm confident to say that for so many of us that learned to golf in the 90s and early 2k's, 4:37 is the magic moment learning what happens with the right elbow staying in front and across the chest during impact. I know I had a couple lightbulbs go off.
Right on man! So happy it's resonating!
TJ and Riley are amazing. If you have not gotten a lesson, online or otherwise from these group of guys you are selling your golf game short. Extremely Professional and a Little Golf Quirky Nerdy. But that is why these guys are great! If either of you are ever in Virginia you can stay at my place! Please keep up the videos!
Paul!! We appreciate you so much bro!
Love your videos! Things i’ve never thought about. I do get confused about the initial hub movement- always beed told it drops but this video i thought i heard it moves out toward ball?
Great content! I learn something new that really helps with every video you guys put out.
We appreciate you watching bro
Awesome information!
Thanks man
Great Video I am on Board with this thought - Wahoo
Right on!
Does the index finger complex of the trail hand perform any specific function?
Cheers and awesome content!!
Absolutely, helps facilitate load and pressure direction 🙏
really good stuff guys.
Thanks so much!
Nerded out right along with ya! Thanks for this series.
You the man! Thank you for watching 🙏
Been playing long time - always fought club path too far from inside - that was well defined - give it a try - we’ll done - Greg
In this video and the short that Riley does on how to stop hooking the ball you make the comment that the hub goes "radically left" to send the clubhead out and through the ball. I think this idea and the mechanics that make it happen would be a robust topic for a video. I have enjoyed your videos so much that I scheduled in-person lessons with Riley for later this month. Thanks again for all the great coaching.
Noted! Thanks for watching!
Top content lads, always sharing your vids to my mates! Helps hugely with understanding of the swing. Please keep it up as really useful content 🙏🏽
Would love swing analysis all the way across the pond in the UK
You’re the man bro. We’ll keep it up
Great discussion and explanation. Curious? Is left shoulder motion ( oar motion) critical to keeping hands low going back so to not disrupt arc motion - Seem I’m part of a pattern that in attempt to swing back the hands move up sooner than your motions and those of preferred like Hovland. Hovland’s hands just past right leg are just about mid thigh and shaft still parallel ( with driver). As opposed to seeing earlier set and grip already arching up at this same point or even earlier?
Great content, as far as the Hub controls club center of mass from over to under is it OK to passively do that with intent of the hands. Years past always been a strong right hand control (Hitter), never free flowing wrists. Then moved to free flow wrists but questionable position at top i.e. no contol. Following your video I tried passive contol of the hub which seems to improve everything, although early days yet.
Hi... I cant wait to try this at the range this afternoon.. how about a swing analysis on Matt Wolff whose swing looks like an exaggeration of what you are talking about...
Pretty cool action for sure!
Definitely dropping nuggets each video! Helping me get rid of that 70’s swing 😂🎉
Haha! Let’s go!!
Guys your videos are great!!! Still trying to tweak to your philosophy. Will get there eventually I hope. Appreciate ya
Appreciate you!!
I'm not sure this question pertains to this video, or driver vs wedge.
But you said that keeping your forward tilt thru impact creates a lower ball flight.
Just wondering if that would work when pitching or chipping up around the green
Yep relates to the short game as well!
I have been really working hard at changing my swing and it's coming around nicely. One thing I am still struggling with is lowering my launch angle with my irons. I am thinking it's because I am using vertical force too early, would love to see a video that covers linear, roational and vertical forces in the golf swing. Nice work on the channel 👊👊👊.
Thanks for the idea!
love your new videos and swing philosophies!
❤️
Great work guys. Been following your content over last few weeks. Have enlighten me to understand how the club actually works in relation to the swing. This one is especially useful. Ties in all the other aspects of your system. Separating the hand path from the club path. Is that how Ben Hogan does it I wonder?
I would imagine he had a pretty solid understanding of this. You can see it evident in his pattern if you know what to look for 🙏 thank you for watching
Great video again guys, thank you for sharing this information with us.
Of course bro ❤️
The movement of the trail elbow across the body in the downswing was a revelation. Could you do more on this rarely mentioned movement? So many coaches teach us to swing the arms down, but fail to mention the hub path, hence so many of us get stuck. More please.
Yes, we will do more!
Became an instant subscriber, your approach to these videos is great! Would love to see an in-depth video on the release, especially the wrist/forearm movements (flexion/extension, radial/ulnar, and pronation/supination). My current white whale is letting the radial out and getting proper ulnar deviation by impact, just cannot figure it out!
Check their previous videos.
We’ve got a good video on this coming, as well as an older one titled “club face stability” check it our
Great great video. Why a good swing feels over the top to many. But isn’t over the top with the mass behind you. And in transition many top teachers tell students to swing over the top once the mass is set behind
Bingo 👌🏼
Love the videos you guys are putting out. Would love to know how you decide what is too far "out" for the hands. I can get the center of mass of the club to fall back, but not really getting the strikes as it just feel really backed up and under through impact.
All depends on personal matchups for the player. If your hands are going to go “out” a lot, you’d better be able to drop the COM of the club under the plane at the same time 👍🏼
I have been trying this recently and have experienced greater confidence in my golf swing. Correct me if I am wrong I found to do this correctly I have to make sure my mass is centered to create room for the the lead hip to move back and the trail elbow to turn out and around to whip the club head. If I get my center of mass to far back I am stuck behind too far in front and I am over the top.
100% bro! Good feels!
Great job has always! Love these videos!
I appreciate it! Thank you
Glad I found these. Great info
Glad you’re here bro 🙏
Great vid gents 🙌
Thank you 🙏
Crazy left field golf instruction! But i could instantly do that mad drill where you lower the hands, crazy flatten the shaft and rotate through.
Went out and shot 72 just missed 5 birdies on the spin! and im 63yo
Why/How?! maybe cos i practiced right arm only shots or more likely the term sway the chest and fling the arms, when i think rotate i over do it or turn brings it inside
Its the easiest drill i struggle with! the reverse kayak! as due to probably being overconnected i struggle to stop my core, hips joining in!
Thanks for all the great videos even if they appear mad at 1st glance!
The shock for me was the ribcage sway enabling me to fling my arms instantly improved my ball striking.
I had been working on armstructure with TS softball and also stick on grip and hip drills, so maybe they are compatible with your way of teaching, but my improvement is still unbelievable!
Hahaha! Love that, left field golf instruction 😂 glad you enjoyed!
Frog and Tadadowpole….nice work
So sort of through transition as you do the Count Chocula move the buttcap if it had a laser would point more out and over the plane like towards your couch and the the arms fire down on to plane and hub around up and left?
Dude, perfect visual. Im going to be using the count chocula verbiage in future videos 😂😂
Love the content! I have told everyone I know and some people I do not know (they probably think I am weird) to watch the videos on UA-cam and to follow you guys on IG. Cheers.
Hahaha!! Thank you!
awesome explanation! but what would cause a shank from the hub path going out? Would it be the CoM not going back?
The hub path has to curve back around the body through the strike 🙏 this happens through chest rotation, giving you space to shoot the club into impact
I’m loving your instruction! You guys are especially good at describing the biomechanics. Any suggestions about how to make the transition to flexion-rotation after many years of extending-throwing? Is there room for incremental change from the one recipe to the other, or is it just one giant leap?
Definitely room for incremental change! We view it as a spectrum, in which you slide over to the flexion rotation side over time as you train 🙏
@@elitegolfschools Thank you! I'll stay the course. It's rough tho. Any suggestions for where to focus the most attention/energy to shorten the learning curve? I'm thinking your med ball suggestions (and Kendal Yonomoto's book) might be a high yield approach. (It's moving from slo mo to full speed that's giving me the most trouble). Thanks again! Keep up the good work!
Hi Riley and TJ! Creating the hip depth and keeping the hub path out in front has helped with my short irons tremendously. When I move up to my mid irons though (5-7), my shots get very inconsistent. I end up hitting the ground super early or hitting super fat (especially with my 5). I know it’s tough without seeing my swing/what I’m actually doing, but any ideas as to what I might be doing wrong?
Appreciate y’all and really enjoying this video series!
First got blown away by the P5 and the left muscle fascia complex in the spiral video now I’m not gonna shank it with hands more out (when rotating properly)? Dang you guys won’t even remember when 5k was a milestone before long. Thanks for your brilliant insight.
You’re so the man bro. Thank you for this comment
You guys are amazing keep up the good work 💥
