@@redt7452I've noticed a lot of people who do speed runs do this without realizing it because they're so used to blasting through stuff as fast as possible.
Charlie plays video games like a race. He’ll be done with chapter 1 while I’m still only a quarter of the way through because I like to stop and just admire the atmosphere.
I like to take my time; almost as if I'm role-playing as whatever character I'm playing. I don't race through everything as it ruins the experience a game is trying to provide. Example: I would have stopped and listened to what was being said by that crying guy after getting the Plasma Cutter before opening the door. I also would have stayed back and killed the necro instead of just running past it. I like to play how I think the character would act essentially. Don't constantly sprint everywhere, soak in the environments, and just take in the atmosphere and experience. I love games that can really get you immersed, and this remake is one of the best in that regard.
That’s a lot of UA-camrs now with games. They just do it for some easy, multi-day videos. Or the game company gives them a copy for free and pays them a little extra to advertise the game so they stream it but it’s quick. Very annoying times.
The first video I ever watched of yours was a Dead Space 2 online commentary 12 years ago! The classic "what's up everybody, it's cr1tikal..." on the boom mic and all the one liners got that instant sub from me. Glad to see Dead Space back on your channel.
26:13 I played this when I was in 8th grade and it scared the Jesus out of me. And at that age I had gotten over being scared of horror movies. Being in control of the ur situation just makes it so much more stressful. Even now as an adult the remake still has my blood pressure up and gives me a few mild jumps. But I’m an adult who understands the optimal way to play through the game. If this was a brand new Deadspace with the same level of production and atmosphere but I didn’t understand how to play it optimally I would still probably be pissing myself as an adult.
Charlie: " I don't remember DS1 giving you all the weapons so early." Also Charles: * shooting each monster like a terminator; sprinting through rooms like hes Usain bolt
Damn watching him play this for the first hour or so was really painful. Never uses stasis on enemies, literally runs through everything as fast as possible, doesn't look around or try to find anything. Gets mega humbled early on about ammo and "I don't really care about ammo its Normal" and then runs out 10 minutes later.
Not reading text logs or looking at any of the environmental storytelling was kinda tilting too, but he is streaming so that kinda splits his attention i guess
one advice, never watch streamers playing this kinds of games, theyll always rush it to get to the next game for C O N T E N T, sense of commitment and streamers are concepts that font go together
Ben/Caspersight did a playthrough of Last of Us 2 and it was so painful I couldn't keep watching. He ran through and missed pretty much Everything, he barely used half of the gameplay mechanics, he talked through extremely important story elements and then asked minutes later what was going on.
20:19 Was that DYNAMIC DISEMBOWELMENT!? God I'm glad I'm alive right now. Too late for Earth, too soon for the Galaxy, but right on time to blow a monsters guts out.
The game’s not dark all the time though as there’s quite a bit of volumetric lighting, and foggy atmosphere which is quite well lit but sometimes it does get pitch black for a little bit and that’s at default brightness……. You could be correct though he might have his brightness higher than usual
@Technology Lord I only watched the first 15 mins or so and I'm on chapter 7 the areas he is in are way more well lit for him and honestly the sound design and atmosphere is what makes it scary putting the brightness up and only having one headphone in kills the immersion so of course it's not scary.

Nearly done the game, and Motive has absolutely crushed it. Everything is improved, expanded, makes more sense, etc, etc. I'm hoping for a DS2 remake next from them. Hell, I'd even take a DS3 remake, though I'd rather they make a new DS3, that stills end up with Isaac returning to Earth, like in the DS3 dlc. I was definitely thrown off by Isaac's face at first. So used to seeing the old original actor's face as Isaac, but it does make more sense to use Gunner's actual face since he's doing the voice again, and would've been doing facial capture with the VO since that's standard in triple A games these days.

Ehhh. I'm not sure I disagree with you. Almost done with the video, and he takes no time to enjoy the new sights, acts like he's speedrunning the game with just running into rooms and mashing to pickup items without seeing what they are, walks away from plot beats as they're happening, etc. I usually love when Charlie plays a new game, but this one is rubbing me the wrong way. He really does seem like he just wants to get it done with.
The one regret I have with this game is outside of the very initial bit, there was never a bit were you absolutely needed to flee. I think "you better run or you are gonna die" moments are critically underutilized. Mind you, I am aware that such a scene wasn't in the base game, but I still think it would have been cool to have a literal swarm of necromorpohs show up. So many that the absolute first thought is "I'm screwed"
Actually like how they didn't change too much from the original game. They just made the visuals better and amp the intensity of horror elements that made this game great. The original Dead Space is basically Resident Evil but what if it was actually scary, no goofy moments, block buster action sequence, just pure terror.

Like being able to use it to dismember the guy infront of me and before it breaks shooting it to kill/dismember enemies far away and having a bunch of saws flying around killing things around corners or that you don’t see is what made that weapon my favorite. Would hate if they nerfed it
just me or whatever how futuristic ships are portrayed in media, the live feed camera stutters or loose feedback like theyre using a week transmitter even tho its attached a meter away?
I don't think he would be able to finish the game on hard or even impossible mode after seeing how he keeps getting slapped up and basically just rushing things, which will be bad for ammo, credits, and health in the long run.
Honestly this is tied with Resident Evil 1 Remake for the greatest remake in all of video gaming. The way the Ishimura was handled and how you navigate it reminds me of how RE1 remake designed the mansion. It's less linear and there's much to explore, with each section being interconnected instead of each chapter being isolated. Not to mention the master audio and visual design. The attention to detail in this game is crazy.
Not sure if you will see this Charlie, but an answer to your question about ending. I heard there is a different ending when you complete New game plus
There are marker collectibles in New game+. You need to collect all 12 and you can't miss any. Before you reach Captain Mathiases quarters in the exec section of the crew deck. There is a shrine where you place them. Once activated, you just keep playing until the end like normal to get the alternate ending.

The BEST sci-fi/survival horror game ever created. If you’re a fan of anything horror related, this game is a must play. Maybe 80-90% of the survival horror genre today takes some form of inspiration from Dead Space..
Give it a shot. The original dead space was my introduction into not only SciF Survival Horror but to all horror games as well. Even after all this time, I still revere Dead Space as one the greatest Horror Games to exist. The remake of it only improves it and is definitely worth the money (if you're willing to spend that much, of course)
Even to this day gotta love all the pulse rifle confusion 😂 "It sucks now" no no no my friend the issue is that you use it for its unintended GAMEPLAY purposes it was never a damage weapon in the original either. It has always been a very dedicated weapon. Secondary fire included, it was meant to help you get out of a sticky situation (aka being surrounded) and its main use is for weakspots. Weakspots are different from cutting off their limbs. Besides if you want my opinion, the new secondary fire is just a way better use of its ammo. Several upgrades are still required for it to do nominal damage towards limb seperation. Bit of a rant but man this remake is already everything I've always wanted it to be lol

So far I haven't seen anyone do it on UA-cam but my gamer instinks made me do it cuz those are some weird symbols for a summoning circle, ill upload my clip
In NG+ if you do it again you get a sea shanty sung by the Ishimura unitologists, what an awesome easter egg.

I dont know how people can go thru games like this and just blindly run through every single room without stopping to comb thru/admire the super purposefully crafted world. Environmental storytelling & logs *really* elevate games like this, and so many streamers just never seem to stop for a second to take it in.

Yup, also complaining about ammo when he rarely explores rooms or loot boxes. Very frustrating tbh
@@redt7452I've noticed a lot of people who do speed runs do this without realizing it because they're so used to blasting through stuff as fast as possible.

The segment where Charlie got stuck in a corner and then wiggled his way out realy FEELS next gen to me.
Skill isue tbh
They all desperately rush through games
That’s a lot of UA-camrs now with games. They just do it for some easy, multi-day videos. Or the game company gives them a copy for free and pays them a little extra to advertise the game so they stream it but it’s quick. Very annoying times.
The first video I ever watched of yours was a Dead Space 2 online commentary 12 years ago! The classic "what's up everybody, it's cr1tikal..." on the boom mic and all the one liners got that instant sub from me. Glad to see Dead Space back on your channel.
And I just had to watch the "Pro" Halo Reach Montage. Oh this stuff was golden
Dead Space is definitely a top candidate for coolest looking weapons in video games
So…me? I know nothing I’m only watching Charlie now I’m past these parts haha
Charlie: " I don't remember DS1 giving you all the weapons so early."
Also Charles: * shooting each monster like a terminator; sprinting through rooms like hes Usain bolt

3:50 From silent protagonist to back seat driver. XD Loved it! Happy to see charlie play it
Damn watching him play this for the first hour or so was really painful. Never uses stasis on enemies, literally runs through everything as fast as possible, doesn't look around or try to find anything. Gets mega humbled early on about ammo and "I don't really care about ammo its Normal" and then runs out 10 minutes later.
He's definitely not the best at survival horror lol it just doesn't click with him
Not reading text logs or looking at any of the environmental storytelling was kinda tilting too, but he is streaming so that kinda splits his attention i guess
one advice, never watch streamers playing this kinds of games, theyll always rush it to get to the next game for C O N T E N T, sense of commitment and streamers are concepts that font go together
Ben/Caspersight did a playthrough of Last of Us 2 and it was so painful I couldn't keep watching. He ran through and missed pretty much Everything, he barely used half of the gameplay mechanics, he talked through extremely important story elements and then asked minutes later what was going on.
Already know this is about to be amazing

You know Charlie's deep into a game when he returns immediately from his bathroom breaks lol

Goddamn, Charlie made this game look terrible! Even though I played it for myself and it's very good. He just doesn't give a shit.
Why do you feel that way
Charlie is the only person i know that doesnt like plaing games in a dark room or a dark room with leds

I mean he can play it how he wants I’m just wondering if that’s just his play style or they changed it? Like being able to use it to dismember the guy infront of me and before it breaks shooting it to kill/dismember enemies far away and having a bunch of saws flying around killing things around corners or that you don’t see is what made that weapon my favorite. Would hate if they nerfed it
No they’ve improved it along with a couple good upgrades that weren’t there before
just me or whatever how futuristic ships are portrayed in media, the live feed camera stutters or loose feedback like theyre using a week transmitter even tho its attached a meter away?
