best ending to a trilogy for sure as it's the perfect closer. but out of the souls games i feel like more people would say ds1, elden ring or blodborne as they were more innovative. still my favourite though
Yeah, one "issue" it comes with (atleast for me) is that I cant really enjoy other games anymore. I still like some other games like recently Silent Hill 2 for example but the amount of joy I get out of those games isnt anywhere near the joy I get out of playing a From souls game for the first time. @@James-kv3ll If you think it's a normal one then you have never seen the moveset lmao. Was Ds3 your first and only Ds game until Elden Ring or something?
I have the fondest memories playing Dark Souls 3. From the bosses, the subtle story telling, music, weapon mechanics, world design and call backs to the original, it was truly the culmination of fromsoftware’s works. Also the fight clubs were a nice cherry on top, was so cool being apart of something niche.
Having played all three Dark Souls titles, I've gotta say, 3 spoiled me. The fluidity and smoothness of movement, the refined hitboxes, the speed at which the character performs actions, it's beautiful. The other two have their charms, but 3 is simply unbeatable in terms of gameplay feel compared to the other two. And I know the other two are products of their time, but I just can't ignore how good it feels to play DS3. Also, because I've played so much of it, DS3 is the easiest from my perspective. I basically know it inside and out. So that definitely helps.
I was stunned when Charlie repeated what I'd been saying "it's Hubris that's your downfall". You don't bang your head against a wall, when a one hit is inevitable..
Does anyone remember the trailer for this that played out like an old direct-to-VHS movie, complete with cheesy narrator and enough film grain to fill the Sahara? That was top class marketing that I wish more games would do more.
Here's how I see it: Ds1: Best story, iconic and genre defining. Ds2: Best atmosphere, great story and innovative ideas that would become staples like power stancing Ds3: Best combat, best soundtrack in fromsoft's lineup (in my humble opinion ofc) , amazing conclusion to the series.
1:48:18 I never noticed that when he goes "feral" he stops talking, up until that point he won't shut up, but once he goes berserk he doesn't talk anymore
I like watching charlies gameplay because he doesn't flip out about the game saying "WHAT! HOW DID THAT HIT!" He always blames himself which is probably why he never burns out.
@@Game4ALaughnameless king is fine. ER however barely has any non-gimmick boss that's not terribly designed. But people will disagree because "hard = good design"
Charlie's endgame build is actually unintentionally decent. He has decent armor that gives him good defense that allows him to tank enough damage for him to spam light attacks from the dagger.
@@pixelsheep8939 yeah literally only lost Izalith is bad (but still an OK area, besides the dragon butt copy and paste) Duke’s Archives, Catacombs, New Londo are all great.
I spent a long time playing PVP in DS3. I decided to take advantage of Poise as a meme but it worked so well. Sunlight spear, cast speed +3 charm, 60 faith, and enough poise to face tank great swords and you're in business. I made sure to hide my charm with the Estocs to keep them from knowing my shenanigans thinking I was just another 'one of those guys'. The satisfaction of them thinking they got one past me only to lose most of or their entire health bar was great.
Idk how people consider 1 the best DS game. i really like the first half, but that last 30% is just not fun. i played it like 4 months ago and i remember in middle of the game i was so excited for a second play through with different weapons, but when i hit that point of the game, it just sucked every excitement and motivation i had for the second run.
@@digital_nex2247it’s nostalgia talking half the time the other half is people glazing the level design while completely ignoring the second half of the game being an absolute dumpster fire

ds3 is also hands down the most replayable among the 3. the game having 3 endings, (4 if you count the hidden one) the majority of the NPCs having multiple-i guess you could call them endings as well, makes you curious how things would play out, honestly. like, you have so many options what to do on different playthroughs despite the game being mostly linear. you could get bored of it, sure but once you pick it back up, it just always hits man. cinema
I wouldn’t say it’s the most replayable, not to say it isn’t very replayable, but Dark Souls 2 has the best build variety, and armor variety while still giving a large amount of freedom to how you traverse the game compared to DS3. Dark Souls 1 is the best for speed running, and blazing through on new play throughs due to the crazy connectedness of the world in general.
i get that having a wide build variety is great but my excitement is still the same when i get to try just a new weapon on a different playthrough so i dont think it does much of a difference. also, ds2 is waaaay to freaking long and miserable (for the wrong reasons) for it to be that replayable for me. for ds1, the difference is honestly not that much, there are NPCs with multiple endings as well, even a diff cutscene with sif. but i think ds3 just does it on a level above ds1. where the interactions are more interesting, especially anri, siegward, the bloodborne looking dude, and etc. so for me, it's ds3 > ds1 > ds2. doesnt mean that ds2 is a bad game, it's getting a lot of unnecessary hate for sure but story wise? definitely not a weak link in the souls series
I wouldn’t say easily.. all the Souls games have something that they do much better, I’d even say the best souls game is specifically the first HALF of DS1. I do agree on ER though. I think it’s the best made GAME, but not the best SOULS.
My biggest problem with DS3 is that it has the least variety amongst the different areas, everything is mostly grey-brown same-iness to the point that I get a little burnt out (no pun intended) when I start a new playthrough. That, and almost all the best bosses are in the latter half of the game.
After playing ER, this game is the only “Soulslike” I can actually go back to. Bloodborne desperately needs a 60fps PC port, until then DS3 is the GOAT. I prefer it to ER in some ways
Friede is fair and reasonable while still being the hardest boss in DS3. Malenia is literally not hard at all except phase 2 rush down and the waterfowl dance.
tell that to DS2 fans, they're still living in their own bubble of low graphics. DS3 had the best story of all 3, the best gameplay of all 3 and the best models and worldspace of all 3. a true 10/10 game and a true 10/10 sequel, a worthy successor to DS1, unlike DS2 !
Best Story and Gameplay is sus take. Ds3 have the best boss fights not the most fun and good gameplay. The Weapons Art are useless, the shields are useless, the bows are useless, the magic is pratically useless, even the supportive miracles are useless, the consumables are most useless, the armor's poise are useless too and the stamina management/punitive mechanics is almost non existing in this game, for a Dark Souls game, this is pretty sad and boring not get punished by doing wrong choices. If you see people talking good about Ds3 like Charlie, they are only rushing into a straight line and killing bosses with melee weapons, this actually is the most boring gameplay of all 3 Dark Souls, too easy, too simple, too repetitive, no variety. Anyone calling ds1 better than ds3 are blinded by nostalgia. Fantastic games with their own quirks but ds3 really built on the systems theyve had since 1, and everything is more appealing from the music to the level design
How can you say Ds3 is better when it isn't even original? What systems did Ds3 build upon? The spell uses or poise system that it got rid of? You know nothing about the mechanics of the series if you think Ds3 isn't by far the worst thing FromSoft has ever put out. All you care about is art direction and bosses.
call me crazy but i think overall DS3 has better art direction than Elden Ring. it could be due to me dying A LOT more in DS3 and was thus forced to spend more time looking at the scenery over and over again to appreciate the details.

DS1 has the best early game. DS2 is a game. DS3 has really good consistent quality throughout and the best bosses by far.
Explain what’s so bad about ds2?
@@vonnstevens2502 That's exactly his point. There's nothing outright bad about the game, just that it's not special in its own unique way the way DS1 and DS3 are.
Ds1 has the best early game, Ds2 has amazing world design, build variety, and combat finesse, and Ds3 has the best bosses, plus great combat.
DS3 was the beginning of the end of the souls series, it lost a lot of quality
@@vonnstevens2502I just went through it again for probably the 10th time: it’s janky as hell, ADP is dumb, hitboxes still feel weird even with ADP, bosses are very easy and too mechanical. DLC’s are all solid but all have a goofy coop area that is annoying for solo.

what i love about the formsoftware games is how the game respects the player's maturity it's simply a breath of fresh air.
Yeah, one "issue" it comes with (atleast for me) is that I cant really enjoy other games anymore. I still like some other games like recently Silent Hill 2 for example but the amount of joy I get out of those games isnt anywhere near the joy I get out of playing a From souls game for the first time. My first playthrough of DS3 I died 70 times in total, with 40+ of them being Dancer. Always love that you're allowed to do her so early.
Nameless king is by far my favourite dark souls boss! Just so unique and memorable.

That flying kick from the mimic is really fucking impressive. Best dark souls indeed.
ds3 is also hands down the most replayable among the 3. the game having 3 endings, (4 if you count the hidden one) the majority of the NPCs having multiple-i guess you could call them endings as well, makes you curious how things would play out, honestly. like, you have so many options what to do on different playthroughs despite the game being mostly linear. you could get bored of it, sure but once you pick it back up, it just always hits man.
16:11 bro the pure shock from his face killed me
Oh 100%, DS3 is easily the best DS. And honestly, i prefer it over ER.
I'm with you on that too. ER was excellent but I enjoyed 3 far more.
I wouldn’t say easily.. all the Souls games have something that they do much better, I’d even say the best souls game is specifically the first HALF of DS1. I do agree on ER though. I think it’s the best made GAME, but not the best SOULS.
@@x_HITB0X_x fair enough. But yeah ER is objectively an excellent game however I didn't feel the open world worked for a souls game yk?
My biggest problem with DS3 is that it has the least variety amongst the different areas, everything is mostly grey-brown same-iness to the point that I get a little burnt out (no pun intended) when I start a new playthrough. That, and almost all the best bosses are in the latter half of the game.
After playing ER, this game is the only “Soulslike” I can actually go back to. Bloodborne desperately needs a 60fps PC port, until then DS3 is the GOAT. I prefer it to ER in some ways
