Dude!!! I love your open comments about the frustration that goes through our minds!! You stay true to the task. I tend not to stay as calm as you. Great video! I have went and bought so much new tools as I always was not having the right tools.
Thanks. The real story is that I was super frustrated. I may or may not have painted an accurate picture of my level of frustration at parts. lol Thanks man. I appreciate you.
The first part was the most entertaining. It was at your expense but we have all been in those situations. It’s better to watch someone else than to deal with it yourself . 👍🏻
In the future, keep the nut on the thread when you are using the puller to crack the sprocket. Back the nut off to give it some space to move. Use the puller to crack it off the shaft and then take the nut and sprocket off. This will stop the puller and sprocket flying across the room.
I still don’t have my 450 yet, but Dean explained they were doing many upgrades. Danfoss drive motors are part of the changes, and I’m happy about that after watching your video! Keep up the good work.
I know he put a jam-nut on the tensioner now too. I was going to buy a Kioti subcompact tractor before I came across the 450. Half the price, and makes more sense on my uneven terrain.
The hard with doing something for the first time is the discovery. It always takes exponentially more time. That's why mechanics typically start as apprentices. Next time will be that much easier.
For the hose fittings id suggest picking up a set of line wrenches/flare wrenches, they will help prevent rounding off the nut on the hose end. Great videos, my 450t should be shipping sometime soon i imagine
Can you tell us what was written on the back of the old and new drive motors? I didn't see Danfoss on the new ones. BTW, I watched a guy putting on the tracks and he has found that putting the track on the bottom two rollers first and then the top is a lot easier.
It doesn't look like the new ones are any beefier probably just some retaining compound in the seals that old one you might be able to use some Loctite 660 to hold the outboard seal in
Yeah I plan to do that on the coming weeks/months. My dang full time job and family/kids take so much time! lol. I took this week off and am staying at our cabin. We trailered all 4 machines out here to shoot some videos. I only brought my 4in1 bucket, auger, and pallet forks. So I’ll try and get some tests done.
Its just fact of life. Things just break . There was this short on yt on my feed, where this guy comments on different mini skid steer that had some weld break after 15h was quite condescending on it because cheap and from CN, he bought it because of bucket for cheap. So he owns 50k made in USA mini skid steer , that had head gasket blown after 150h, and not a single bad word about it, just its covered by warranty. Its interesting to see peoples attitude towards things when they pay big money and when they pay little.
I'm so pumped to see you compare this 450 with the V1000..... do you know when the big one will arrive? I would rather have the kubota...but man I really like the length and weight of the 450.
I think this video is enough to scare me out of buying one of these. I know any local shop wouldn't even look at it. That is too bad. I would hope these would be more robust than this.
Is it because of the older drive motors I had or because of the larger tools needed? There is a forklift shop near me that would love to work on them. Hydraulic machines with engines. Same same.
Wow, that’s awesome. 40 years is a long time. Terrible to hear he has dementia. My Mom had dementia. She was a brilliant woman and writer. Never would have imagined she would become what dementia did to her. Luckily, she passed peacefully on her sleep.
Click on the Alibaba link in the video description and then contact area with Derette there. He can get you setup. Mine should arrive in the states in 3 days!!
I buy this machine about a year in a half ago same machine I went through 3 drives motors 1 on the left and 2 on the right these machines are bad with drive motors it's not built correctly I went to a hydraulic shop that specializes in drive motors be prepared they are going to keep going out it's a big problem
Dang. That doesn’t sound good. Mine has been awesome for the last few months since I replaced the motors. Side note, man you are an OG UA-camr! Your oldest upload on your channel was 16 years ago! Wow! Nice.
In school we were taught to never use an impact for final tightening of nuts and bolts. Use them to snug them up then use hand wrenches and/or a torque wrench. The impact can over torque small fasteners either snaping them off or stripping threads, on larger fasteners they more than likely won't be tight enough.
I actually have learned the same. Yet for years I watch body men using impacts for everything in the collision repair business. Kinda get numb to it after so many years. lol
Do you watch Andrew Camarata's videos, by any chance? You would have to admit there are some of Andrew's 'moves' here. Please, do NOT use the unit's hydraulics to hold itself off the floor while working on it, you are taking a few more steps towards a visit to an ER and maybe NOT in YOUR Ambulance.😄
Yes I like to watch some of his videos. I don’t know if I would compare me to him. He’s kind of a big deal! lol. Good suggestion on the bucket. Didn’t even think about that. Thanks
People are buying blind off the Internet without going to china or Japan to see what you really getting... My advice you have to go to China in stay 1 month because factories are spreaded out in shandong Providence many people buy from my company because we have top quality and we inspect are machines in person in china
Sounds like a good plan. Hard to do when you have a job like mine and work 50-60 hours a week. Didn’t you used to have a video on your UA-cam channel about your 450 drive motors leaking?

That’s a good call. It was kinda fun to watch it fly. Scary, but cool.

Does danfoss make drive motors for mini excavators? I cant find my drive motor anywhere
@@lowmanagainthat’s a great question.
What other upgrades are they doing? Hopefully an easier to tension the tracks? I am looking to sell my tractor to get a DRT450.
I know he put a jam-nut on the tensioner now too. I was going to buy a Kioti subcompact tractor before I came across the 450. Half the price, and makes more sense on my uneven terrain.
Anti sieze on the sprocket shaft? Maybe it would help if there's a next time? Nice work
I hope there is never a next time! lol. At least I know how to now. Thanks for the input.
That was a nice job.😎👍 Only thing I would have done if I was doing that on mine is I would have thrown some loctite on the bolts bolting the motor on.
That’s would have a been a good call. Thanks for the input.

My machines doesn’t have Danfoss motors. Mine had Chinese motors. The new 450s have Danfoss.
It sounds like Dean, the owner manufacturer, is a trustworthy company
So far so good for me.
It doesn't look like the new ones are any beefier probably just some retaining compound in the seals that old one you might be able to use some Loctite 660 to hold the outboard seal in
Not a bad idea. They look the same but are supposed to have just a little more torque. I just don’t want them to leak! lol
Like the videos. Still waiting to see you try the Attachments on the other smaller trackloader.

They were covered under warranty!!! I was super impressed honestly.

You can just replace the seals
I didn’t throw away the old ones. Just swapped them out. They were replaced free under warranty.
That leak was quite big
You definitely need blower pistol 😁
Quite! My OSHA gun is amazing.
A friend would of come in handy.
The joys of living out in the sticks, working 50-60 hour weeks at work, and then doing UA-cam in my spare time. Not a lot of friend time left. Sigh….
Why didn't you just replace the seal
Because they sent me better motors under warranty.

I was considering buying one till i saw this video pretty bad to be replaced a drive motor after what 6 mounths
Pretty good they replaced it under warranty. And the new ones have better drive motors
