im old in this channel but you may be confusing me. almost gave up like 4 times. But when i was about to quit i see more new videos from this channel and was very motivational. I saw many comments and always asked myself how did they do it and the key is APPLY APPLY APPLY even to senior positions. i applied to a senior position and they hired me as a newbie entry developer and told me i need guidance to not stay home and learn with them. starting in 10 days.
i studied accounting (lol) and finished college already. about to graduate. from latin america. english is my 2nd language.
ps:The reason i got hired (and the owner of the business was there) was because they saw my passion and determination. thats what they told me.
ps2: when i started watching this channel you had like 4k followers and were getting barely 500-800 views average.

Love it dude, been following you since the very beginning as I was learning to code myself. Congrats and you deserve it. The thing that we love about your vids is that you are real and humble and like the rest of us up and coming Devs. Not like the top grads from huge school type devs who think too much of themselves. Also the production on these vids is beautiful. Keep it up.

Awesome video Chris, I am glad you had a great week at your new job and I like your office layout. It is true, even if someone don't have a degree, they can still get hired, once you put in the effort and the work and do coding projects, any employer will hire you. I don't have a degree, but I am putting in the time and effort daily, learning new coding topics and I can say it is worth it. Keep on coding my friend, and you encouraged me to keep on coding as well.

You know the crazy thing about this video is that this is the 4th or 5th time I'm watching it. I started school back in sept of 2017 and I graduate next year with my BS in computer science. Long story short even though I'm in school I decide to test out treehouse online. I find it that I hate back end developing no idea why but I do not have fun at all. I remember your story about the grocery store and how you made sure you find the time to learn a little every day. Congrats a year later on your journey and I just want to say thank you for inspiring me and helping me along my journey into this career.

I enjoy working in office environments and dealing with technology. I enjoy my morning coffee as well haha. I wanna start this fall for sure. I wanna do 2 years than hopefully complete my bachelors degree in computer science. I’m praying it goes that way. You seem very humble man. And congrats on the job. Congratulations man. Been subscribed a week now and watched a bunch of your videos. I guess I could relate to you because I'm into web development, and my strong points are html, css, php, and codeigniter framework, but I lack strength in JavaScript just like how you were saying you were a year or so ago. I love developing, and looking forward to make my weakness an asset to my stack of code I already know. I'm working on a pretty big project right now on the side, but I'm gonna be applying for a permanent job next month. One thing your videos prove is that you just have to start somewhere, and take that opportunity and kill it by developing ones self. You're an inspiration, keep on keeping on.
By the way, a question I have. When you first enter a company like you are now, what's the 1st days or week like? Do they give you small tasks to do to get familiar with their system, codes etc? Or do they throw you right in?

Man, I’m trying to get into software development or cyber security.
I don’t know how to code in any language, but I work in IT as an service Desk Specialist.
I first started as an IT admin, then went onto service desk, I’ve never enjoyed service desk, it’s not what I want to do, my passion has always been a software developer/cyber security.
I’m trying to apply for a few software developer jobs, but I get nowhere at all with them, they don’t even contact me. It sucks.
I am currently trying to learn C# on my own, in my spare time after work, and also I am thinking of buying a raspberry Pi, and using Kali Linux on it.
But sometimes, I just feel like giving up, because nobody wants to give me a chance in becoming a developer. (I’m 23, in UK)
Anyone got any tips please as I just want to give up and stop trying/wasting my time and effort.

And to be honest I am really nervous for starting university and employment since nobody else I know my age does the same as what I am doing with the same projects and langauges, Im not sure of what the standards are for someone who is 17 going into Computing science at University.

Joshua how did you teach yourself? Could you give some resources that really helped you? When did you start

    • @joshmcrk8837
      @joshmcrk8837 4 роки тому

@@serenitybeats1677 Hey, unfortunately my educational facility only offered very basic IT. So I started learning myself from home, which is much easier than it sounds, it's all about finding a project which interests you. The first project I started with was a very simple HTML/CSS. I made a simple navigation bar, with some pages.
I then started doing slightly more advanced web development and added Javascript, and then started using PHP instead of HTML (You can then open PHP files using XAMPP, just started the apache server and place your file in a folder in the .htdocs folder in XAMPP and go to localhost/Folder/File.php on your browser) to setup a PHP page you just need to make a .php file and structure it like a HTML document would be, with the exception of PHP tags which can be used for setting variables and other cool stuff which you can look at on w3schools.
I then worked on integrating MySQL, once I worked a bit with PHP I then moved onto doing the same thing with other languages such as Node.js using frameworks such as Electron & Express.
But if you would like I could hop on Discord or Email if you want me to give you a further explanation in clearer and better detail.
Here are two sites I used to get started:
      webdevtrick.com/login-system-php-mysql/
      www.w3schools.com/css/css_navbar.asp
      apologies for grammar & spelling.

Hello Chris i want to become a front developer within few months i have knowledge on html, css already. Would you please tell me the right way to become and what are the aspects for me to concentrate to get it as soon as possible cause i have already started learning it but seems it would take longer to become a proper front developer. Hope you will answer me...

so you are front-end web developer or engineer as they have given you the title right
and basically you polish their website like you just take care of their website like what to change and what not to change what things should be edited so for the viewers the website is gonna look cool right
