@@Jmod8 That not true. Timeboxing is the only way to actually have time for the things you love while doing the shit you have to do. Other wise you just wander the fuck around, wasting time and focus. This is real, man, I am living it. IT student / side study French, Singing and some other artsy shit (no idea what I am doing in IT) + friends and the occasional cinema + exercising. Its doable my friend! Kill distractions like social med and our phones in general, use the empty time and study in a dynamic deep work format so you dont bore your tears and brains out. I hope the best

I'm still in high school, but your video has led me to take decisive action. 4-5 months ago, I started changing my daily routine. I was getting up at 5am, I realized that the day is much longer than it looks. Despite the 8 hour school day. I'm getting better every year, but now I also have some issues with myself, so here I am again, watching this video. It was very difficult for me in this kind of mode, but I could feel the results of my work, even though I was in a constant state of stress. This video, gives me hope that I can also. I have university entrance exams in 10 months, now I have to work twice as hard and keep up with everything. I am not ready to leave my dream of doing offensive security and IoT security. Thanks for your hard work, I will try to become a decent professional.

I'm still interested in reverse engineering, learning and NOT writing malware, electronics, forensics, finding vulnerabilities. I am moving in these directions. I study math, Russian, computer science. I will try to enter computer science at the university in my city. It's a good institute. @@ITSecNEO I agree. Also, most script kiddies tend to not have the basic required knowledge for programming, like data structures and algorithms or OOP.
People do use APIs and Libraries and stuff, which are also stuff that were created by other people, but a good programmer has to know how they work and has the ability to actually implement them, and I think this is the point that separates script kiddies from other kinds of programmers

Coding your own tools is important because every attack is different and requires different methods to accomplish which means you're gonna waste time looking for a new appropriate tool to handle the situation when you could just code one

I love that all of these vids are always students or people who are early in their careers. I want to see more of these things where the person is forty and trying to balance a professional career and a family, succeed at both, and yet still manage to have five minutes to spare to look after themselves as well. It’s like one of those triangles where you get to position the stone inside depending on which which points of the trinity you favour.

@vg9808 I graduated college with 2 kids, working, and since had another 3rd child. Now I work from home as a security analyst. You can have a family and grow your career as well. 😁 You won't suck at both, but you won't have much time for hobbies...
You know what man? I thought this was one of the coolest videos that I've ever seen! It depicts my life as well. I start at 3AM studying web design, ethical hacking and investing in stocks. my head is spun. I then go to work and run a computer shop at 10AM-6PM and I am dead. I also forget my passwords but the hashes are easy to crack! Can't even make it thru a movie with my girlfriend without falling asleep. It's hard work bro. I'm 47 and I wish I had started in my 20's as you did. Your dedication and discipline are admirable qualities that will carry you far in life.

60 / 8 = 7:30. If you were quite generous, you could cut off some time for shower that would make it around 7min a mile while the most likely option was that he just rounded the clock so it fit better for the text, for example brushing off 15:56 - 17:11 to 16:00-17:00

in this quarantine my routine was to wake up at 3pm, play all day and go to sleep at dawn. This video motivated me, I did a routine of studies, physical and mental exercises, and brought me the interest in learning new things. Thanks.
Meanwhile my schedule as a computer science student:
From "when I wake up" till "evening" - gaming with some food and toilet in between
evening - coding if I feel like it while eating
2AM - showering and questioning life choices
4AM - Watching memes
5AM - possibly sleeping by now

If you study cyber security it does not mean that you have to be paranoiac about every electronic device you own 24/7. I don't think the terrorists are coming for YOUR specific personal data. So everyone is allowed to use any OS they like, no matter what they study or what they work in. And in my opinion, learning cyber security makes you less panicky about your data, as you see how hard it is to corrupt it, and realize that no one goes for random people they see on the street

Using windows as i hate how my bios needs to be set up in order to run live version of linux and I dont want to actually install it. So virtual machines do the job whenever i want to try something out on linux. :D

I never understood the 'process' of going to school to learn, doing homework, etc for CS especially. It didn't jive well for me. Instead I spent my time working on real world applications and that is how I truly learned CS fundamentals. Everyone is different, glad to see this does work for some people, just not for EVERYONE!

1:49 I remember doing that exact project, once in high school and a second time as a first year undergrad. It all lead up to a rabbits, wolves, and grass simulation project that I did very poorly on

I like your video so much, and I would like to study cyber security too, but in my university the BSc has CS (computer science) and CSE(computer science engineering), so which one should I choose if I prefer study cyber security in the future?
Neither. Go to a school that has a cybersecurity degree
in truth, either is fine and you can add whatever you're missing through certifications.
It might take longer but on the plus side you'll have a much stronger background in programming than people who didn't study CS.
To be more specific about the particular choice you're facing, judging from the programs that are available at *my* uni, I believe CS is better if you're looking to go into secure application development, and CSE better for strictly network related security jobs - but the difference is often not that significant and in any case really dependent on what particular courses your own program offers (plus many programs have some slots for optional classes where you have freedom of choice so you can go slightly more towards one direction or the other anyway).
i hope to reach my goal even though I am only learning at home. I set my alarm for 4 am to start and found this video and it got me more and more motivated. I wish you could give me the lessons I should study. I only master C and the back-end

I felt great after watching how punctual this guy is and how he perfectly manages to work on time. And thinking of other students their One day in their life videos are so fun and but wasn't able to see that serious work they should be focusing on.
for me, this is kinda the same just most things are shifted since I am not a morning person and prefer to sleep 12-7am usually and I don't enjoy running. Other than that, generally speaking its pretty similar. I go to a different school so of course the exact work is different but that is to be expected
