Actually that’s the point of day in my life videos. They are mini vlogs. If you want to find what they ACTUALLY DO then search up ‘what it is like to be a …’ instead.
Im going to become a developer and your video from a year ago motivated me I'm scared!!!! since its a total different career for me. Wish me luck!!!! love the videos...
I thought it would be more stressful but it looks like you are doing damn well. I really liked that you answered a lot of the very important questions with an honest answer. I feel a bit more confident now applying in this field as I just finished getting my certification as a Front-End Developer. Thanks and keep up the amazing work Chris!
Thanks for sharing Chris! going through an internship as a developer for a consulting firm and also doing a coding Bootcamp part-time I can find a lot of your insights very relatable!
I love how you were honest about quitting coding! In college I also had to take a quarter off for my sanity! Loved your approach on this day in the life, very inspiring!
Keep up the good work, dude. Been learning code and have been getting burned out/side tracked. Easily the hardest thing I've done and your videos help me stay on track.
Thank you for not making a video that shows you in fast forward mode, drinking coffee, typing super fast, and thinking critically, without saying a word. Those types of videos are meaningless! Just shows me how much they suck at editing videos!
So you've slowed down your coding at home...I can understand, I have been burning out as of late. Sometimes I do feel guilty when I dont, but I know there is more to life then coding :)
Landed my first front-end/web development job today, after having been in Software Support for 6 years out of college. No idea how the hell I pulled that off, but I did. lmao xD
A really insightful video. I am looking at transitioning from a finance section to go into the tech one. It’s interesting to get an idea of what your day involves. So I appreciate some honest feedback which has helped with my intentions
I feel like working from home half the time and the other half being in the office is good. Right now I WFH once a week and sometimes twice a week if needed. So far no one has any issues with me doing so, haha.
This video aged well (the working from home part). Question, I am a senior computer science student, my school only teaches back end like C, C++, Java. If I want to work in front end, will it be possible to get a job without learning front end? I know I can do treehouse and I will, but will my diploma alone help me get a front end job?
What code challenges and questions were you give for this interview? And if you're not allowed to tell us the exact code challenge questions, if you can talk about some similar code challenges?
3:08 - I mean, you didn't even answer the question. The question wasn't, _"How many hours do you code _AFTER_ work?,"_ it was, _"How many hours do you really code?,"_ and I think they were referring to your normal 8-hour work day.
Perhaps, it's better I give up on programming. Began this journey last August and I really had dreams and aspirations for the future. But reality is seriously dissuading me from going on and I'm seriously giving quiting a thought.
Started studying at Aptech with a very inferior laptop of 1.0Ghz, 4GB RAM, 500HDD and Intel Pentium. I thought I could manage as I had no funds to get a better one. Did well in the projects on HTML and CSS, registered for an online course on Udemy (Angela Yu's bootcamp course on Web development). Was fun but I couldn't even go further, stopped after Javascript cos my laptop gave up. Now it's 3months and I haven't done anything. How can I possibly continue?
Hey, it's important to note that in order to be successful in life you need to never give up. If your laptop broke you can either save up to buy a new one or try programming on a different hardware like maybe mobile phones or tablets, it's harder but still possible. Don't let this be the end of your dream!
Do you have a bachelor's degree or an Associate's degree? Starting school in web dev and was wondering if i could get a job after my ass. degree then continue online for a Bach. degree.
Gone to Devry for 7yrs. Got a CIS degree but never really took it seriously(had a drinking problem for most of it but im trying to quit). Now im trying to get into coding but feeling so burned out. I am pretty much still a beginner. Still trying to do Freecodecamp but again I feel like I dont learn anything professionally but more as a mini hobby from that. Not sure where to go or what to do to be "job Ready". Any advice? I have discord if anyone wants to chat or game from time to time. Wouldnt mind making some new friends who are in the same boat.
I have seen someone like you, a lots, off track; It's an unseen force directing your path, you need to focus on spiritual strength( no matter what religion: walk by faith no by right), I am a natural born software engineer and have been working as a jail guard( seen lots lots of offenders)
So it only took you about 6 months to learn coding enough to land a job? You think that's generally typical? And do you have a college degree? Thank you for your videos btw- very helpful!
sebaxtian011 hi ...i´m into your chanel for a wile ... i´m from chile & i´m in something like a bootcamp ... it´s free (at least for now ) ... mn .. you inspider me so much ... i´m just like you, but from another country , i left college & i didn´t knew where to go until my brother showed me the way of programing , & then everything lighted up... then i found your channel & realize that everything is posible with the rigth motivation ...mis mejores deseos
Hello Chris, I want to become a web developer, how long will it take me? Where would u advice me to get the program from? And do I get to work from home? Thanks brother
What was your first job in development and what experience did you have before you got hired? Most job postings I am finding require experience to get experience.
Finally a video where someone describes the ACTUAL day to day tasks and requirement and not just someone drinking Coffee and Cycling to and from Work.
Actually that’s the point of day in my life videos. They are mini vlogs. If you want to find what they ACTUALLY DO then search up ‘what it is like to be a …’ instead.
little did he know in just a few months he will get to work remotely
xD
Im going to become a developer and your video from a year ago motivated me I'm scared!!!! since its a total different career for me. Wish me luck!!!! love the videos...

So you've slowed down your coding at home...I can understand, I have been burning out as of late. Sometimes I do feel guilty when I dont, but I know there is more to life then coding :)
I’m glad you have stopped the 3 month developer stuff while mentioning treehouse. Very insightful video! Looking forward to your next vids!
Landed my first front-end/web development job today, after having been in Software Support for 6 years out of college. No idea how the hell I pulled that off, but I did. lmao xD

Yo, Old Chris Back! love it.

Wow, your boss sounds amazing! I want to work where you work! Lol
Very honest and clear.
Never seen such content.
Thanks Man
A really insightful video. I am looking at transitioning from a finance section to go into the tech one. It’s interesting to get an idea of what your day involves. So I appreciate some honest feedback which has helped with my intentions
im in between finance and tech for my next steps. what’s making you want to change into webdev ?
I feel like working from home half the time and the other half being in the office is good. Right now I WFH once a week and sometimes twice a week if needed. So far no one has any issues with me doing so, haha.
Awesome video 😊 Merry Christmas, Chris.
Do you think university backed coding bootcamps are a good investment if you want to join the web development field?
Happy Holidays! Thanks for the video
Merry Christmas Chris. Great video
Hi! I used your video for my essay! Thank you for your insights!

I’m getting into web development and data science
You’re so awesome and greatest men. I’ll appreciate your strive in life. :)

This video is pre pandemic. No one codes all day. It’s more about problem solving.
Do you do more backend work?

Are you cognitively tired at the end of the day from all the coding?
