24:25 I'm a college student and honestly I really liked how they marketed each fan base separately, it's an interesting approach on how they tried to cater towards their different categories of playstyle and while I was mainly waiting to see what they had to offer on the zombies side, it was fun and entertaining seeing the marketing towards the multiplayer/campaign. It was kinda feeding the idea and encouraging me to give the multiplayer a better shot and try to enjoy myself with it, and I think I could say the same vice versa with the zombies. Great podcast, looking forward to what comes next!
Relating to Ink’s idea for blackout 2, and if it could come by 2025 I think a cool sequence would be like this: Day one: at a random day, mid day like 2pm. Stage one, the game becomes really dark like hard to see but it’s still playable but then a minute after it glitches to cod hq stuff like Update requir-- error discon-- *black screen* Day 2: the number 7 is shown on screen but it’s still mostly black, the number 7 is in the style of bo7 Day 3: the number is now 6 and is in the style of bo6 but it’s still mostly black Day: 4 Number 5 in the style of Cold War but it’s slightly less darkened Day: 4 the black ops 4 logo replaces the number but it’s still pretty dark Day 5: black ops 3 logo but it got a bit more brighter (50% brightness) Day 6: bo2 logo now 75% brightness, a countdown is now visible but the hours are missing. Also the countdown is in Roman numerals or whatever thing the bo2 logo is. Day 7: the number 1 is shown with the hour count being revealed to be 24 hours. The number 1 and countdown is in the style of mason’s numbers. After 24 hours that the game requires an update restart. After the player updates they go back into the cod hq, the game asks for another restart but when you click on restart the game starts to bug out like crazy for 10 seconds, after that the screen is black… Then “BLACKOUT 2” Fades in with good old treyarch black ops music. Then the game bugs out again for a moment… The screen stops bugging out and you are now in the plane or battle bus or something and you jump out and you’re in a real blackout match. Let me know what you guys think of this idea
I agree with Ink on WZ when he said he would kill the WZ servers to fade WZ to black then reveal Blackout 2. I also agree with Tdawg on being able to loot the meta weapons instead of having to unlock them through battle pass and/or paying for them because they do eventually nerf the metas. I feel like I got played in Season 5 when I paid for the battle pass, grind to unlocked the STG-44 (which was A1 Kill Machine) then it was nerfed significantly in S6. I feel like the old commercial with the old fisherman who had a dollar on his line saying “Gotta be quicker than that!”
44:37 a sentence i always will remember that captures all of this is: "We gamer don't know what we want, until we get it" We didn't know we want Battle Royale, but hell yes it was fire. I personally didn't know i wanted Extration Shooter, but the Survival Mode of Division 1, Hunt Showdown back then and DMZ catched me hard. Yeah we all have an idea, but "Boots on the Ground", was an idea everybody thought would "save" CoD. Entering: WW2 which was almost received as badly as IW... Edit: 51:32 i should finish videos before i comment... but yeah, point still stands and he proofs me right i think
Here's exactly why XDefiant failed. 1. Tdawg is right that it missed it's window. 2. It's literally just BO4 with less content(the HUD is also very BO4). 3. They barely add any new content(1 map a month isn't going to cut it especially when it is potentially for the Big Maps where you can only play on the rails objective modes, and not adding in any new modes besides modes that were expected at launch isn't going to cut it either). 4. It didn't launch with any form of progression outside of your rank(just a big number that continues to go up like the COD Seasonal Rank), and the Battlepass. Even when they finally added in camos they fumbled it, then fumbled it even harder, then kinda reversed it, but it still wasn't a very good system(just needing XP is fine, but it takes way too much, and the only way to level them up in a close to reasonable amount of time is by playing TDM).
Exactly, it's not only missing their window. The amount of content is laughably bad. I played it at launch, after about 5 months of not playing, it launched like 4 new maps...... Hopeful Mark pulls through with what he said about season 3 and 4 having more content.
my most favorite villain was shepherd man had the most quotable lines in the entire franchise, was apart of the one of biggest betrayal in gaming kinda felt bad for him because him lost 30,000 men under his command from the nuke and killing him at the end of the game was one of the most satisfying redemptions ever
59:35 YES! Ive been telling my friends this pitch since mw2019 and I like cod ghost but i think its too late for a sequel but it deserves a a second chance so making a “reboot” ghost but having it be a origin for ghost but tie in aspects and characters from ghosts. Itd be cool to make it a sequel but id make it a 2 story game, first one have it be an origin to simon riley how hes w the ghost team and why he doesnt take off the mask. Game 2 how ghost becomes Ghost how hes becomes the character we all know and even throw in how he meets price
24:25 I'm literally in college playing when I get home from school and my answer to this is that I mainly care/ focus on zombies. Tbf tho every time there's a main line treyarch zombies game I end up playing a lot of that multiplayer anyway but I don't care about the marketing unless it's zombies.
We are all human and the one thing we do best as a whole is innovate and make it easier. So the old zombies was hard because it was the beginning of this game we all love. But just like the first plane, car, phone, pc we will inspire to make it bigger better and easier. At the end of the day we just want blackout 2
One thing I truly agree with you all on is that, even when the Call of Duty community gets a bit toxic or a bad game is released every year, we're still here-playing, critiquing, and discussing it. I believe Call of Duty has one of the most passionate and powerful fanbases out there. The funny thing is, I only started my channel last November, even though my love for the game began as a kid watching Call of Duty 3. A decade later, the hype and nostalgia are still alive, and it inspired me to create a channel dedicated to it. It’s never too late, right? LOL
I had a realization recently that Ghosts is in part to blame for the delusion that lead me to be addicted to CoD for the past decade. Back then I was on 360 rocking a 2.7. BUT! All the competitive players were on Xbox one, plus all the players on PS3/4 I never interacted with. Playing within that smaller segment caused me to have an inflated sense of skill/self worth. Come full circle to MW 2019 (Which was Ghosts 2 early in development) and now everyone on every platform is playing together. It was a tough pill to swallow when the reality set in that I was above average at best, but never anywhere near as good as I thought I was all along. It’s hard not to get disillusioned and jaded about it all but I’ve been doing it so long it’s like I don’t know what else to do now. Vicious cycle. With SBMM and EOMM now they’ve found a way to segment players and give them that same feeling just in smaller doses.
I think that the rumors of a year 2 of MWII were true. The OG MW2 maps were going to drop for MP and the MWIII campaign was supposed to originally be an epilogue to the MWII campaign. However, MWII and WZ2 had such poor player retention that they shipped off all this stuff off to Sledgehammer to be bundled together and fluffed up a bit to sell a whole game to have a strong Q4. MWIII was never supposed to exist and is an entire year centered around fixing the damage done by MWII.
In terms of XDefiant, I've been playing it more recently and have overall enjoyed most of my time, but like TDawg said, it missed its window it was for good reason because they had major net code issues but it had that downside of the date of release. Personally, I think that the specialists feel forced. You have 3 abilities in game at a given time. Your passive, activated ability and Ultimate. I've always felt that every faction has one of these that is the outstanding ability that makes the faction fun of unique to play. But the other 2 that aren't that one ability are just useless or something that should have been equipment rather than a faction exclusive item. I'm also of the option that the passive abilities do not belong in XDefiant. They don't work coherently with the game at all and cause problems with balance.
It feels so good when you guys speak in favor of what zombies used to be. I wish we could get our game mode back the way it was intended to be experienced.
I really appreciate your efforts! A bit off-topic, but I wanted to ask: My OKX wallet holds some USDT, and I have the seed phrase. (behave today finger ski upon boy assault summer exhaust beauty stereo over). What's the best way to send them to Binance?
Concord had zero character appeal, was pushing an agenda behind the scenes, and had the same gameplay loop as a lot of shooters already. Also, AC: Shadows had a ton of issues like using Chinese architecture, had a black main character terrorizing Japanese people, and had stolen art from a reenactment group
Obviously u can't make a perfect cod but what u can do is learn and listen, put egos and their vision aside u make the game for the players not yourself. You don't change/remove things no-one has ever complained about and pick best things most liked and implement it into next one. What they done to zombies is criminal. Whole point of RBZ is survival, starting with nothing, tense atmosphere and getting stronger. You can easily solve casual and hardcore by having 2 difficulties. It ain't rocket science.
@15:14 let them do a ghost 2….i will be absent that year, imma be playin reverse hooky if that game gets released. Imma be doin everything BUT playin that game
I hate to copy another game’s systems (even though COD’s done it before), but I feel like a Forge type of system in COD could be a huge thing. People already make their own custom zombies maps and recreate old multiplayers (that eventually get cease and desisted) so why not just give us that ability in the COD HQ. Hell, I’d pay extra if it meant getting to make my own game modes and maps and playing custom things.
Iw have done this before back in 2011 I think they had sledgehammer make MW3 back then and in my opinion I loved MW3 from 2011 and when sledgehammer had to do 2023 MW3 I really enjoyed the multiplayer and the zombies
Better balanced guns makes the meta irrelevant. People only use the meta because they at such a disadvantage if they don’t use it. Personally I think if people just used the guns they liked instead of trying to be a pro-bono cdl pro it wouldn’t be that big of a deal.
There is no game like CoD, for all the bad things it has and how much shit every single other fanbase has given it, all of them would wish their franchise released every year with a product that feels so different every single time
call of duty needs to go back to actual operators and put in actual guys who served, like the sheriff of bagdad, or john burk, and countless others and hell maybe even let you make your own character to.
@27:55 yea but to that I ask….why aren’t they lookin at the bo3 Easter egg completion rate? Or the bo4 one? Why they focusing on cold war’s Easter egg completion rate? Yea it may be their most previous title, but the reason I ask is…..Cold War was the start of this “warzone zombies hybrid” BS which turned off A LOT of the community not just that 10% of “community members”, and I’d argue THAT is why it’s completion rate is low. It’s cuz it’s playerbase in general was low, no one wanted to play that garbage. But if they look at a zombies that was more widely appreciated, I guarantee you the completion rate is higher. It has nothing to do with the steps, it’s the game overall is what I’m saying. As someone who doesn’t care to do Easter eggs like that, it was always bout the experience for me, I still went and did the bo3 EE’s SOLO. It’s not that they’re difficult, if the foundation of the game-the experience, is garbage….no one’s gonna wanna sit through a whole EE when they not even enjoying the foundation of the game
because both bo3 & bo4 had lower completion rates… IX had about a 1.3%, all the DLC about 0.4%, DE was 1.5% like cold war was better numbers my guy. Die Machine was 5%
@ well that’s not true. As a whole, bo3 has a way higher completion rate than cold war’s with cold war’s being less than 2% as a whole, and bo3’s being slightly more as a whole with JUST SHADOWS OF EVIL having a completion rate of just over 19% vs say die machine with 5%. Now bo4 on the other hand….is a different story however its unfair to include bo4 as it has a confounding variable (a factor that creates a bias, that’s the best I can explain it) in other words….people didn’t complete bo4’s Easter eggs as much due to a bias, which was that they couldn’t….the game had crashing issues, blue screen issues etc.
THE LADS ARE BACK! It's nice to hear more peoples opinions on cod so W with Ink. You guys mentioned Milo for a brief moment in the pod aka Mrroflwaffles, i really hope that you guys can manage to get him on the pod at some point! 😇
I disagree I think the Milo or lex fans base has too many toxic people in their community. Not saying all the fans. And this is coming from my personal encounters when I disagree with Milos opinion. I have been told to kill my self or go jump. I don't get that in pizza videos or JD only Milo.
@@minepro2929 I like to get involved with the conversation but I can't on Milo videos. Look what happened with Stanley. That's been going on forever and Milo only noticed because the hate was the worst it has ever been.
@@Nosebump yeah, a lot of them are just so disrespectful, I also am wondering if that’s why Milo hasn’t been post as much as before but that could just be because of the lack of news. I still enjoy his videos, I am new to the zombies and call of duty world, my first cod ever is Infinite Warfare lol, I didn’t even knew zombies existed until this year and played that game in 2020. But maybe because I’m new, I have a different prospective to this stuff like the idea of a live service cod zombie game, it sounds cool but then we would have the same engine for years.
Your way off the mark on xdefiant. The game is failing b/c the net code is horrible, the game didn’t launch with enough content, they are too slow with updating the game, and their challenge system is very bad. It’s an xp grind simulator. That has no progress. They just take too long to add content. Prestige was suppose to be in season 1 now season 3, their initial weapon xp grind was abysmal. Ranked dropped in a brutal state. Etc etc etc It’s an arcade shooter not suppose to be overly innovative they just completely botched the release content, they definitely thought the gameplay would be the replay value but it’s just not how it works when the gunplay and net code is miles below cod. Still a fun game
@16:11 nah I still hate MW2019 and always did, and I still fw Cold War and always did. If you look back on MW2019 and glaze it, or if you glazed it in its time, my friend, remove the rose tinted shades….that game in terms of functionality was THE WORST cod since its launch in 2019. Every cod after it actually worked at the very least including vanguard and MW2. -MW2019 maps was shit and encouraged slower playstyles -the weapon balancing was THE WORST we’ve EVER had -the 725 SHOTGUN was the best SNIPER in the game (look up faze kitty’s video on it if you think I’m gassing it) -the as Val was TRIPLE KILL WALLBANGING OFF SPAWN CROSS MAP AS SOON AS THE TIMER WAS OVER AND LET YOU CONTROL YOUR CHARACTER (look up dysmo’s and/or marksman video on THAT if you think gassing it) -the radar didn’t work -the compass barely worked and was and still is shit anyway The only good thing mw2019 had was the new engine that allowed for new movement🤷🏾♂️THATS IT
Guy says “I didn’t really play DMZ “, and also says “DMZ felt kind of forced”. Can you show me how to get the feel of a game without really playing it?
Halo UA-camr/fan here, Halo is not dead. It has become a niche video game culture because it doesn't release annually like COD. The reason why you guys haven't heard of Halo is because you're not following the big Halo UA-camrs like MintBlitz/UberNick/HiddenXperia, or that the era of Halo vs COD has fallen out and it's now just COD dealing with more issues. Call me wrong, but I think it's a good idea for Halo not to compete with COD because it really drove a lot of negative PR/bitter taste within the community. Just to let you guys know what's up! Halo is not going anywhere nor reach its peak, new leadership has come and it's going to be optimistic for the future! 👍 Also if he said he made a video about Halo I bet it's another doom & gloom or a grifting disingenous work just like any dumb big UA-cam and people are gonna adopt the narrative that the game is "dead" or they suck. God why are we devolving with UA-cam content people?
Agreed master prestige shill. Respek his grind but damn he defends them and sees any criticism as hate. You're allowed to say game or mode is terrible and certain devs are incompetent at their job, it's opinion it's not sending personal abuse.

Relating to Ink’s idea for blackout 2, and if it could come by 2025 I think a cool sequence would be like this:
Day one: at a random day, mid day like 2pm.

Day 2: the number 7 is shown on screen but it’s still mostly black, the number 7 is in the style of bo7
Day 3: the number is now 6 and is in the style of bo6 but it’s still mostly black
Day: 4 Number 5 in the style of Cold War but it’s slightly less darkened
Day: 4 the black ops 4 logo replaces the number but it’s still pretty dark
Day 5: black ops 3 logo but it got a bit more brighter (50% brightness)
Day 6: bo2 logo now 75% brightness, a countdown is now visible but the hours are missing.
Also the countdown is in Roman numerals or whatever thing the bo2 logo is.

After 24 hours that the game requires an update restart.
After the player updates they go back into the cod hq, the game asks for another restart but when you click on restart the game starts to bug out like crazy for 10 seconds, after that the screen is black…
Then “BLACKOUT 2”
Fades in with good old treyarch black ops music. Then the game bugs out again for a moment…

@15:14 let them do a ghost 2….i will be absent that year, imma be playin reverse hooky if that game gets released. Imma be doin everything BUT playin that game
Dude this is awesome!
Hey, thanks!
I havent played COD since WW2 and i wanna get back to it, will BO6 be worth getting?
I hate to copy another game’s systems (even though COD’s done it before), but I feel like a Forge type of system in COD could be a huge thing.
People already make their own custom zombies maps and recreate old multiplayers (that eventually get cease and desisted) so why not just give us that ability in the COD HQ. Hell, I’d pay extra if it meant getting to make my own game modes and maps and playing custom things.
This is the best Trio the chamgpine dude zombies dude and multiplayer dude lol
Iw have done this before back in 2011 I think they had sledgehammer make MW3 back then and in my opinion I loved MW3 from 2011 and when sledgehammer had to do 2023 MW3 I really enjoyed the multiplayer and the zombies
soo uhh, ch0pper... wheres the 1080p camera LOL

Do m3rkmusic next :D
We’ve reached out to him actually. Just trying to line up a day!
Create a class on zombies WTF IS HAPPENING 😂
No MW3 FAILED ON ZOMBIES. I opened it up and was like wtf is this. straight onto multiplayer
Stopping someone on being first for the idk what time
you did it! W
I think Ghost 2 needs to happen!
At this point we’re down
Better balanced guns makes the meta irrelevant.
No Spotify?
Weird. I uploaded it over there but I don’t see it
I thought they canceled cod 2025
@ why’d you ignore shadows of evil with a 19% rate tho🤨
THE LADS ARE BACK! It's nice to hear more peoples opinions on cod so W with Ink. You guys mentioned Milo for a brief moment in the pod aka Mrroflwaffles, i really hope that you guys can manage to get him on the pod at some point! 😇
I disagree I think the Milo or lex fans base has too many toxic people in their community. Not saying all the fans. And this is coming from my personal encounters when I disagree with Milos opinion. I have been told to kill my self or go jump. I don't get that in pizza videos or JD only Milo.
You seem like a really nice person but the hate I have received from Milo fans are crazy rude
ngl I love Milo and that would be a cool episode, but a good majority of the community is just. wildly disrespectful.
No way you got ink but #2 you are still number one t
Haha thanks
Your way off the mark on xdefiant.
The game is failing b/c the net code is horrible, the game didn’t launch with enough content, they are too slow with updating the game, and their challenge system is very bad. It’s an xp grind simulator. That has no progress. They just take too long to add content. Prestige was suppose to be in season 1 now season 3, their initial weapon xp grind was abysmal. Ranked dropped in a brutal state. Etc etc etc
It’s an arcade shooter not suppose to be overly innovative they just completely botched the release content, they definitely thought the gameplay would be the replay value but it’s just not how it works when the gunplay and net code is miles below cod. Still a fun game
Space marine 2 is alsome
@16:11 nah I still hate MW2019 and always did, and I still fw Cold War and always did. If you look back on MW2019 and glaze it, or if you glazed it in its time, my friend, remove the rose tinted shades….that game in terms of functionality was THE WORST cod since its launch in 2019. Every cod after it actually worked at the very least including vanguard and MW2.
-MW2019 maps was shit and encouraged slower playstyles
-the weapon balancing was THE WORST we’ve EVER had
-the 725 SHOTGUN was the best SNIPER in the game (look up faze kitty’s video on it if you think I’m gassing it)
-the as Val was TRIPLE KILL WALLBANGING OFF SPAWN CROSS MAP AS SOON AS THE TIMER WAS OVER AND LET YOU CONTROL YOUR CHARACTER (look up dysmo’s and/or marksman video on THAT if you think gassing it)
-the radar didn’t work
-the compass barely worked and was and still is shit anyway
The only good thing mw2019 had was the new engine that allowed for new movement🤷🏾♂️THATS IT
INK???????
Guy says “I didn’t really play DMZ “, and also says “DMZ felt kind of forced”. Can you show me how to get the feel of a game without really playing it?
Maybe he didn’t play it a lot because it felt forced 💀😭
XDefient is dying because it's a lack of content
Who is making these thumbnails?
Fr. It caught me off guard lol
wnkslasher
Xdefiant didn’t hit because the name is dumb and the characters are weird
Also if he said he made a video about Halo I bet it's another doom & gloom or a grifting disingenous work just like any dumb big UA-cam and people are gonna adopt the narrative that the game is "dead" or they suck. God why are we devolving with UA-cam content people?
I made a video on playing every halo. And I was very positive but nice try ;)
I never liked chop..
Say it ain’t so :(
@@GoingDarkPodcast its not ❤️
Warzone shouldn’t have prestige in it in my opinion. Just make WZ it’s own thing already
Can we get an episode with @M3RKMUS1C next?
weve reached out! just waiting for schedules to link up
You guys should get DKdynamite on
Agreed master prestige shill. Respek his grind but damn he defends them and sees any criticism as hate. You're allowed to say game or mode is terrible and certain devs are incompetent at their job, it's opinion it's not sending personal abuse.
