Chop hit the nail on the head. finding jug gave the game a sense of urgency and immersed the player. using the starting pistol to strategize points and deciding which doors to buy, deciding to buy an okay wall weapon or hit the box. and then strategizing for pack a punch. All these things added up to make the game fun. While also at the same time, working on steps to unlock useful weapons (example feeding the dogs and collecting skulls in mob).
As a game dev myself, I feel like the player expectation has gone up exponentially over the years while the dev time actually needed to reach a nowadays acceptable quality has increased dramatically as well. Devs are "lazy" in a sense that they'll have to make decisions to either craft an intricate quest to obtain a shield that requires a lot of work or just reuse the armour system to spend that development time elsewhere like creating more maps for example. With CoD being an annual title and the many layoffs over the past couple years, I feel there is an even more enormous pressure to meet the standards these days. That, along with some poor marketing decisions, has probably led us to this point where the community is more divided than ever...
Thank you for your feedback. I know you aren’t speaking for the zombie dev team, but I think most people would agree it can’t be much work to add 3 shield parts with 3 possible spawns each and a workbench, instead of the armor. It just seems like it boils down to poor decision making and not listening to what the fans want
@@ProphetOfDoubt Respectfully, the people that would agree aren't game devs and don't know what they're talking about. Treyarch would have to concept and model three unique shield pieces for you to assemble into the finished shield. The model for that finished shield has to have higher detail than the separate parts on the ground since your character will be holding it right up to the camera. They can't just throw the pieces onto the map willy-nilly either, they have to carefully choose nine possible hiding places total, then do rounds of testing and move them around based on tester feedback to make sure they're in spots that are hard to find, but not so hard that the average player has no hope of finding them. They have to create a unique attack for the shield, complete with all of the animations, effects work, and balancing that entails. Then there are more rounds of testing, and bug squashing, and fixing exploits. And then they have to do all of that again *for each map*.
@ProphetOfDoubt I do agree it was a poor decision from the perspective of a player. From the perspective of a dev, using the armour system takes a maximum of a day to implement, excluding testing and bug fixing. Benefits are that that system has been tested and fixed for all modes already, so that saves a lot of time. On the other hand, for the shield (which is just one example), the designers have to come up with art, effects, functionality, and placement, just to name a few. Artists will have to spend weeks creating and perfecting the shield model, textures, uvs, LODs, etc. Same for all the parts. Then, programmers need to program unique functionality and crafting, after which the designers have to go balance everything again. This iterative process could take designers, artists, and programmers multiple weeks combined. Time they could have spent on things that either make more of an impact to the player or bluntly make more money like store items (unfortunately, but it's still a business). As a fan, I have to agree with you that the mode has lost a lot of its charm due to the decisions they've made over the years.
This is a very logical take. To be honest, I think the gameplay loop is fun enough that I would rather them make more maps than worry about making a shield for every map. Sure, the shield is cool, but armor would work perfectly fine if they just find a way to balance it a little better. A lot of the issues I have with the game are literally just balancing issues. If they would just make the player health a bit lower so you can only take like 8 hits with max armor and jug, make the guns you start with absolutely suck at the beginning to where it incentivizes you to buy a wall weapon, and make the rewards from the mystery box better (maybe even put pack a punched weapons or aether tools in there), I think the game is basically perfect.
I think the main problem is that people forgot that the same people that worked on the old cods are not there anymore. I feel for the new people that are just trying to do their best.
It’s not good to be unconditionally supportive of things, that’s literally how cults are formed. Have perspective on things, have criticisms, be a critical thinker not just a follower.

I think having the map off during the standard mode and then turning it back on during the guided mode is a good idea, but I feel like if anything they should probably make it so that your map is more limited until you actually open the door to see what’s behind that area while still giving you the option to turn it off completely. Like for example, before you open the door, you can’t see if there’s a mystery box in that area but after you open it, you can see the mystery box but if you end up getting a teddy bear, then you have to search for the mystery box all over again. About the loadout thing I feel like it’s a good idea to make it so that you can buy it but I just know people are gonna be complaining and saying Warzone is influencing zombies again. About the HUD, I think adding a reward for prestige that is HUDs from different games as well as other rewards would be cool. Im pretty sure we’ve seen the emblem for the first prestige and it’s a WAW zombie looking one. It would be cool to see HUDs or something like that considering they’re saying that the prestige will have rewards that kind of callback to previous titles. If they did do store bundles though, I wouldn’t mind a cheap store bundle. Like 1-5 dollars or something.
13:20 Jug used to also be put in some pretty dangerous spots. It made it riskier to go for jug mid round 32:50 PIZZA do not give Treyarch ideas!!! We should get these HUD’s for FREE. We shouldn’t have to pay for them! Especially since this game needs to always be played with an internet connection and the servers could be shut down.
Best solution to loadouts: 1. Make sure every weapon features as a wall weapon in atleast one map 2. Have a ‘set weapon as favourite’ option in weapon kits/builds that greatly increases its chances from the mystery box. Now you maintain the classic gameplay and you still offer alternatives to camo grinders
You would think that after years and years of begging and talking about old/prime zombies that treyarch would just listen for once and give us a real zombie experience again. You guys and milo have all been spot on. Really hoping that bo6 finally delivers. Liberty balls doesnt leave much confidence
During the Liberty Falls gameplay at COD Next when people opened that map you could see there is an icon for a teleporter. There has to be more of the map just based off of that.

the way i think loadouts can work better is if they removed ammo crates. ammo crates gives the player no reason to swap their loadout weapon. i don't need to get another gun if i can just keep buying ammo for my loadout gun. If they want to keep ammo crates i think rebranding it to the scrapped ammomatic perk from WAW and keep it on 1 location in the whole map and not in the wunderfizz.
That's what I've been saying. There shouldn't be ammo that drops from zombies, either. I also think the starting weapon should be significantly higher worse. Like, make it a tier below Red lol
If (for whatever lore reason) each player could use it once every 3-5 rounds or something, that would be neat. I feel they could do that to keep them while not making wall buys or mystery box pulls a preference or just a novelty.

The main things I want to change in zombies is: They need to swap the weapon rarity system for double tap again and swap armor for the shield again. Having a cool looking shield feels so much more like zombies. Just sitting there trying to replate armor in zombies just feels like warzone to me.
I think it shouldn’t be possible to upgrade the loadout weapon’s rarity, or making it 3x more expensive to upgrade. Another idea is to have wall buys be customizable (1 shotgun, 2 ars, 2 smgs, 1 sniper etc.) OR have different wall buys on every map so the coverage of weapons in the gamemode will allow for the camo grind to be possible without a loadout system. Only problem with that idea is when they add new guns in seasons.
IMO replay-ability in zombies is defined by map diversity and unique content. if you disabled the Easter egg and wonder weapon on Cold War maps they would just be layout changes, that’s why they’re aging like milk. Buried, Mob & origins all had new & exclusive weapons, wonder weapon, perk, enemy type, buildables, equipment & multiple gameplay mechanics on top of a super unique map setting/theme & hud. You couldn’t have that experience anywhere else for any of them and that is what brings people back time after time. There’s no reason to even pick one map over the other in Cold War unless ur doing the Easter egg.
If classic mode doesn’t come back to zombies, I’m done with cod. Modern zombies is so boring, easy and unoriginal. Much respect Pizza for preferring jug and the two hit down system over armor. Just subscribed because you actually understand zombies. You too chop.
People keep talking about the hud but tbh im gonna get the game and turn basically all of it off just like i did in cold war. I hated not being able to turn off the minimap and kill awards on cold war

@@thegamingsquad115 ah okay, I think I understand what your saying. So basically you prefer jetpacks because the movement is more predictable in gunfights? I can definitely see that, with a a jetpack you only have so much boost so if an enemy goes up they’ll come down relatively close by, with Omni movement there’s no way of knowing if someone is going to dive out from behind cover or off a ledge or whatever. Personally tho, I think I have to disagree with that for the most part. Bo3 had wall running along with the jetpacks and I would argue that feels more fast disorienting than bo6 movement does . As far as zombies goes the slide jump is absolutely awesome but the rest of bo3s movement doesn’t really contribute to zombies much, and unfortunately I don’t think Omni movement is going to contribute much to the gameplay in bo6 zombies either. My only argument against a tranzit remaster is I think it would be better as a remake.
@@Muphlez well with a Transit yes it's going to a remake but yeah bo4 was a curse of everything specially for the newer cods but I will leave you alone have a good day
Hear me out. Bo3 starting weapons then for your load out buried chalk that is by pack a punch? So you have to open pack which is not to bad then you can be OP
Could we leave the system how it is and make the zombies harder by increasing there movement speed every five rounds? That would create tension that would incentivize people to get amor, to pack a punch, to get perks. I don’t know I agree this system fails because it’s so easy I get board after round 1 because I know the next 30 rounds are going to feel the exact same and it makes want to switch to multiplayer.
The sad truth is that zombies died in BO4 and warzone hijacked the mode since CW, the progression is dead, the atmosphere is dead, the uniqueness is dead af because of warzone

Are they not making black ops 2 remastered any more???
Them pushing Warzone mechanics into every mode makes them all feel worse and it’s showing with the reception that the player base is giving.
I maybe first but In the end I will always be last
dang bro. true. but your a og :)
It’s crazy how much better bo6 is than MW3. I’ve always preferred black ops to MW but I still said what I said lol
The sad truth is that zombies died in BO4 and warzone hijacked the mode since CW, the progression is dead, the atmosphere is dead, the uniqueness is dead af because of warzone
20:48 make warzone better instead of trying to make the other gamemodes like warzone
It's decent but feels very similar to the last 2 titles.
lol aura you watched milo’s videos 😂
Man I wish you guys would have asked him about the origins and killing time gobble gum I hear there was a lot of controversy 😅
we are gonna have him on again dont worry
I totally agree, hence why I peaced out of mrrofflewoffles channel. Didn't see all of the map and was way too negative for me tbh.
Bro what!!? How is criticizing the map being negative ? Yall are so soft I swer that map looks trash bro it’s a mid ass map and he even give points to counter his points he is not blindly hating on the game like yall ppl make it out to seem this is just wrong
@@iLoveMiIfsD1 milo glazer
@@InciteSarcasm u say wat u want to say but u can’t say he’s just negative just to be negative and he’s not even that negative that’s why I don’t get his comment say wat u want but it is facts
@@iLoveMiIfsBecause he created the idea that what we were seeing was the final result of the map. He created a mob of haters that don’t have any real criticisms. They just cry “Liberty Balls” all the time.
Milo isn’t as bad as some of the community. But he definitely eggs them on. For example. He recently let someone who enjoys modern zombies onto his podcast. He edited the video to make the guy look terrible for the mob of haters. Pizza for example just kept playing zombies. He didn’t do anything like “Is LiBErtY BaLlS tHe wORsT Map!?” He wasn’t trying to make everyone hate Bo6.
MWIV is MW3.. 🤦♂️
Put a hud behind a paywall? Don’t give activision ideas 😂😂
Gameplay extream fun? To me nothing from that liberty Falls gameplay looks “fun”
MrRoflWaffles please!!
Please don't bring him in. He is so stuck in the past. I really think he just needs to move on to a different game.
Wanting a good game is stuck in the past apparently @Nosebump
@@sweetsurrender815 there was many good games in the past. And you can still play them. But everyone walks forward in life not backwards. And if old is better why don't you have an old Nokia instead of an iPhone
@@Nosebumpmove on? To what cw? Vanguard ? Mw3 ? All mid ass games that don’t even compare to even bo1 so wats ur point he calls out the bs yall ppl say hes “hating”
@Nosebump Because old is not always better? Zombies didn't move forward, it got ruined. There's a difference.
My thoughts on BO6? Trash! 😂😂😂
These guys like to hear themselves talk way too much. When you invite a guest onto a podcast, the guest should be speaking at the very least the same amount as the hosts.
Definitely would like to see pizza again I would still like to see mrroflwaffles and Noahj456.
Waiting for the next mw game, treyarch is dogshit
