I appreciate that you’re so transparent about cost vs selling price. I’d like to see you mention how much time you have invested in a piece. This is a key factor in determining profitability. Of course you’ll be MUCH faster than us newbies, but it’s important to understand what we might expect after we’ve developed skills.
I also love how open she is about that as well, too many people glamorize these projects a little too much and I'm just like "okay if it was that profitable, furniture wouldn't be out on the curb"😂 that or I just love furniture😂
This is awesome. I’ve been binge watching! There are so many terms throughout the videos that would be helpful to learn. Things like ‘burning through the veneer’ and what does that look like and what to do. Or what to do with bubbling laminate, what does dripping look like, what does ‘tannin’ or ‘a bleeder’ mean? I guess a big ‘vocabulary’ video 💛💛💛
Thank you for doing a basics video along with essential starter tools to use! I am considering flipping furniture and am trying to learn what all I need to drive in headfirst.
Please! For those folks like me who can’t “not see it”, would you please put an outlet cover on that outlet behind where you work in the back? It’s killing me🤣🤣 Love to watch.
You've inspired me and I've started my own flipping journey a couple weeks ago! Thank you for sharing your knowledge! ❤️ Can you please do a video on how to take care of the INSIDE of drawers? I haven't found much content on that anywhere (other than using furniture balm) and I'd love to know your thoughts on things to look out for - what levels of wear are repairable and how to take care of it, etc. Thank you!
Fyi, love your flipping tips, now i have for you; take a flat head screw driver and poke holes at the lid of your paint cans. You'll avoid paint drips down the can, I put holes all around my lids, the paint drips back into the can. Ive learned a lot from you. Thanks so much.❤
Love that pink!!!..I can see it in a bougie bedroom with a crystal chandelier and elegant drapes..with a mirror on the front of the drawer(grown up)❤❤❤❤
Hi Lauren! No matter how many videos I watch, I always learn something new. Hoping I get the chance to meet you and Neiman when I am one of the chosen!! LOL!! I had the same type of furniture when I was little--white with the gold trim. Brings back memories. Take care and I will keep watching and learning!
I have to know the color green of that dresser you pass by at the end I've been searching for the perfect green for my dresser 6 drawers and looks like 3 small knobs in middle right by the entrance! ❤
Such a cute little piece for a little girl! Thank you for all of your videos as I have learned so much and you have given me confidence to start - I’m in my 60’s btw!
I've painted a couple of night stands like this the first was painted black so I used Krylon spray chalk paint in a turquoise blue color. I only used one coat plus the sealer. That was 4 years ago and still looks good and I used a gold trim.
Great video, thank you for sharing your knowledge and experience. I’m a reasonable wood worker but struggle with the design and market aspects. Looking forward to learning more from you and seeing what will translate here, across the pond.
Thank you for this video! I've been "tinkering" with upcycling furniture and found that I overthink paint choices. I have a couple pieces that I can't decide what color to paint or what paint brand to use. Can you give me some tips on how you research a market for colors that will sell? Let me know if you already did a video on this and I will check it out.
Great piece! I have a single night stand a little squattier than this one, and wanted to jazz it up a bit. It hasn't sold in the original color (yellowish). I'll be going out shopping for Silk paint tomorrow! Thank you!
Ive been peeling wallpaper. Not a fun job. But Im waiting til its warmer out to work on furniture. I received the copper pot I bought if the website. It is adorable!
What is the material of this nightstand? It doesn’t look like wood, it looks like a finish on it with the white and gold. I’m wondering what makes you decide to sand all the way to the bare wood versus this where you just scuffed it? Aside from the end result look you’re going for, is the base material your deciding factor? I hope these questions make sense! Love this completed look of this nightstand!
...Another great piece by you, Lauren. I just have a curiosity question. Why didn't you scuff sand between coats like you usually do? Is it because of the type of paint that you used? Just wondering for learning purposes. Thanks. :D
Help! For those of you who are much more experienced. Sanding down the vaneer kitchen table and the water stain spots and rings are still Showing . Options ?? What can I do? I’m afraid if I stain it will just accentuate this more.
Hi Lauren, I LOVE your videos, since I found you, I have fully renovated my kitchen, walls, cabinets drawers, hardware etc. I wondr is there a place you answer questions? In an effort to finish my kitchen and after seeing my accomplishment, I've decided to re-apint a hutch in the kitchen that is currently painted an olive green, I thought about sanding and repainting without stripping it looks like only two colors before this and is not an antique so it's super smooth, just wondering, do you always have to completely strip furniture that is already painted? I will be going to the site to learn, buy guides etc. but wasn't sure where to ask. Thanks for all you share and your details, honesty etc!
Do you have hints on how to find local flippers? I'm in Indianapolis. My daughter has a low dresser and a tall dresser that are solid wood, and they deserve to be restored. Neither one of us has the time now so we're looking for a local flipper.
Thanks so much for this very helpful video. I'm the family catch-all for unwanted furniture. I love my Mom dearly but her taste ran to French provincial, so that's what I grew up with. And I can't stand it. So I've got these two matching end tables and as curvy ornate as they are, I'm hoping the right paint job might make them more appealing to me. The hardware is very ornate as well, but it's good quality and I hate to toss it. I'm thinking of going with a mid range sort of grayish blue for the table and I'd like to paint the hardware maybe a pewter color? Can you recommend a good paint for transforming metal drawer hardware? Thanks again, appreciate it!
Out of curiosity, is there a reason you used a brush instead of a small roller? Thank you for this video btw, I’m trying to start flipping furniture and this makes it seem a lot less overwhelming!
Turned out pretty you could have put a little shelf down on the bottom that way perhaps she could have put a faux plant down there or some books I'm sure you could probably still add just a little shelf just made out of plywood and paint it
Hi I have been watching your UA-cam videos for a long time. I don't think it's very nice to do this flip off and make someone pay to see it !!!! I know it doesn't cost that much but when you are on a fixed income every penny counts . Haneb
Hey thanks for your feedback! Nothing will be changing on our UA-cam channel. if you’re unable to pay the $1 a month that’s totally okay! we are self funding this idea and want to be a le to make it the best show it can be. in the future we hope that changes but this is what we have chosen to do for the time being. thanks for your support!
What is the best varnish or stain stripper in your experience? Asking for my 75 year old aunt. She just ask in our family group text for us to recommend a stripper. 😳 I had to read the whole text to know that she didn’t want a real live stripper. 😂
I understand it came with another piece of furniture. But for $30, you add in let’s say 3 hrs minimum work with sanding and painting at a low rate of $20 per hour and your at $60 of hourly, paint cost and initial buy cost of $30. Total profit of $10. I get it’s a learning video tool as well. But the cost shouldn’t come down because you gained two pieces for the price of one. You gotta raise your margins and make less friends. Business is still business and if I did this all day I would make $30 a day. I’m sure you’re making money somewhere but it was lost here if you ask me. People don’t understand time and effort and don’t understand cost of sandpaper or machines especially since sometimes machines break.
Never a good idea to call learners “dummies” yes I realise it’s in reference to the books. But guys don’t be negative you can do better. Having said that love your channel.
On this piece you didn't have to seal with clear wax? I don't know the link for pay $1 to watch the competition, could you please put on the next video to be easier to a old lady in here? Thank you and God bless you work with you husband
To not calculate in the time spent working on a piece of furniture in order to sell it shows a shameful lack of basic accounting skills. Even one hour spent in total ox worth at least $15 to $20 in opportunity costs. I would expect better than that by the two of you.
I appreciate that you’re so transparent about cost vs selling price. I’d like to see you mention how much time you have invested in a piece. This is a key factor in determining profitability. If you go to her website, she offers classes!
Thank you for doing a basics video along with essential starter tools to use! I am considering flipping furniture and am trying to learn what all I need to drive in headfirst.
Haha yes! Clutzes unite! I very much appreciate you showing "oops" moments ❤
I love the look of wallpaper in the outsides if the drawers as well as lining the drawer. It gives a pop ro the whole piece.
So glad the dresser went to that little one and the end table is the finishing touch to make her bedroom magical😁
Please! For those folks like me who can’t “not see it”, would you please put an outlet cover on that outlet behind where you work in the back? It’s killing me🤣🤣 Love to watch.
😂

Initial videos from when they started talks about this. But I don't think she has a video exclusive for this, would be nice.
You’re such a great teacher!❤
I remember the dresser and the night stand is so cute. I can see that a little girl will love it. I am waiting Florence something small in red. 😊
Fyi, love your flipping tips, now i have for you; take a flat head screw driver and poke holes at the lid of your paint cans. You'll avoid paint drips down the can, I put holes all around my lids, the paint drips back into the can. Ive learned a lot from you. Thanks so much.❤
What a fun project!!! We have a 2 year old son. It's so fantastic to get to do projects like these. ❤ I'm sure she is going to love it.
Love that pink!!!..I can see it in a bougie bedroom with a crystal chandelier and elegant drapes..with a mirror on the front of the drawer(grown up)❤❤❤❤

Superb. This is what I was looking for
Do you think to add paint you could use a paint roller for painting and then go back over it in more detail with a brush? I'm trying to get started.
Such a cute little piece for a little girl! Thank you for all of your videos as I have learned so much and you have given me confidence to start - I’m in my 60’s btw!
O.M.G. That’s my mom’s night stand. This is so cool.🆒 She had the whole set.
Oh oh black wax mixed with that pink would be right up my alley❤thanks for the inspiration lady!❤
I've painted a couple of night stands like this the first was painted black so I used Krylon spray chalk paint in a turquoise blue color. I only used one coat plus the sealer. That was 4 years ago and still looks good and I used a gold trim.
This is a great review for all of us in the flipping world. Thanks
Thank you for this!! I am thinking about getting into this and watching your video was very helpful!
Great video, thank you for sharing your knowledge and experience. I’m a reasonable wood worker but struggle with the design and market aspects. Looking forward to learning more from you and seeing what will translate here, across the pond.
Cool! I have a piece from that collection I need to rehab.
I appreciate your channel ❤
I'm so glad! thanks for watching!

Adorable night stand 😊
Looking forward to your next flip
And is it better to buy primer paint, or buy primer mixed in paint or paint, primer, and gloss in paint
Great tips! Thanks for sharing this! 💯 ❣️

yes, the weather can be tricky to do furniture sometimes! Thanks so much for the purchase! Glad you love it! it was a very fun unique piece for sure!
I’ve been peeling wallper too. What a job! It will be next year before I’m done. Lol
@@patphillips66I will say if anyone is putting any up, primer the walls first!!! It's coming off these walls so much easier.
Can you use Valspar Paint on everything once you sand it. Because I want to pretty much stay with the same name brand paint.
Excellent tutorial! Thank you!
Great video very detailed walk us through it. Thanks

If my piece is really shiny what grit of sandpaper should I use?
...Another great piece by you, Lauren. I just have a curiosity question. Why didn't you scuff sand between coats like you usually do? Is it because of the type of paint that you used? Just wondering for learning purposes. Thanks. :D
Why did you use a brush? Seems like it would take more time than a paint sprayer.
White in the creases would have looked nice too.
You are awesome! Thank you!

I can't open the starter kit link.
Hi , can you recommend a good wood filler or all-purpose filler that does fall out after it dries out .
She uses Bondo, check out her other videos if you not. She shows how it is used and explains why she chose that type.
@annaliesea3376 do you know the name of that video by chance
basically all of the videos 😀
@FurnitureFlippingTeacher feeling on cloud 9 after getting a reply back from you thanks a lot

Nice videos, can you use a delta sander or must it be an orbital sander thanks, big love from uk
Out of curiosity, is there a reason you used a brush instead of a small roller? Thank you for this video btw, I’m trying to start flipping furniture and this makes it seem a lot less overwhelming!
what is the best cleaner to use to clean before you start sanding
She uses Simple Green. Rinse well. If you use too much, it leaves a film
Turned out pretty you could have put a little shelf down on the bottom that way perhaps she could have put a faux plant down there or some books I'm sure you could probably still add just a little shelf just made out of plywood and paint it
Thank you
Please could you answer my question about paint color i need to get it ordered
The green dresser in the back as you enter the showroom
FYI. I received about 50 emails in a row from Pateron stating your competition is starting🤯🤯🤯
Sorry about that! We didn’t know those would be going out each post 😅🤣
But it’s officially underway!
Is the Bath and Body Works promo a thing or a mistake? Jajaja now I want a candle 😂
Adorable ❤

I’m learning from watching your videos a lot but… you forgot to sand in between coats 😅
She does
Not a fan of the pink, prefer the rich colors you usually use.
😊
Why is your simple green, not green 🤔
What is the best varnish or stain stripper in your experience? Asking for my 75 year old aunt. She just ask in our family group text for us to recommend a stripper. 😳 I had to read the whole text to know that she didn’t want a real live stripper. 😂
green ez
Am I the only one thinking, “why didn’t she finish it with a polyurethane topcoat”? It’s a nightstand for a toddler! You’re not gonna protect it?
The topcoat is in the paint

Ever heard of windows for dummies? That whole series? Something for every dummy in their particular area? Don't be so sensitive!
On this piece you didn't have to seal with clear wax?
I don't know the link for pay $1 to watch the competition, could you please put on the next video to be easier to a old lady in here? Thank you and God bless you work with you husband
the top coat was built in to this paint 😀
here’s the link: www.patreon.com/furnitureflippingteacher
Well if its for dummies ... I cant watch. Lol 😊
Definitely do NOT brush paint on like that
Where is your professional teaching channel?

No way.Would I pay your price for that table.$25 the most
