    CA18, the baby skyline engine. Sounds lovely. Great job and kudos to the owner for sticking with the humble baby skyline block.

      @Pedka look how old the comment is, back then it was more impressive. Then again, Audi did the same in the 80s from a 2.2, 720hp.

    Truly awesome... you would imagine a 1.8 would have some serious turbo lag with 600 hp... but not evident at all here... had 2 (S13 with CA18DET)... not 600 Hp ones though... my last one was (probably) around 200 hp...

    Nice video again. It seems nearly impossible to transform the power to the road. Maybe the car need a bigger rear wing in order to produce more downforce. Looking forward to the next open door of the calendar.

    • @LegacyOfFear
      @LegacyOfFear 11 років тому +6

      I have a feeling if a smaller turbo or less boost was used it'd do a lot better with power transfer. Unless the entire point is to drive it exactly like this, which is how I'd want to do things.

    • @PeterPretorius-
      @PeterPretorius- 11 років тому +2

      On the one hand, I support your opinion, but on the other hand, a race car should have as much power as possible. Reducing power is a thing, what fits to the modern bullshit formula 1.

    • @axelwphoto
      @axelwphoto 11 років тому

      I think maybe the driver needs to work on his throttle modulation while accelerating.

    • @LegacyOfFear
      @LegacyOfFear 11 років тому +4

      Peter Pretorius
      You're kidding right? There is ALWAYS a limit to how much power a set up can handle. If this particular car were to handle more power, he'd more than likely have to increase the track width of the rear, increase downforce and have to purchase a lot more specialised tires. A race car is NOT about power. IT's about a balance between set-up and the ability to utilise the power it has.

    • @jdmjester
      @jdmjester 11 років тому +1

      Peter Pretorius easy buddy, it's a rot box S chassis, not a radical.. I would've capped it at 450 horse TOPS. Look how much time is spent braking, throttle feeling, touchy this feely that. Not smooth enough. Less time on the brakes, more time on the throttle, and smoother transitions needed.

    • @cxbra
      @cxbra 9 років тому +1

      Kevin B. Its a CA18-DET (in the description) and it definitely has a sequential gearbox.

    • @KR4K40
      @KR4K40 9 років тому +2

      cxbra
      Well I know it's a CA18DET, that's in the title, even. I just canted to know what turbo, internals, supporting mods the car has, model/brand of gearbox, propshafts and diff and what figures it puts to the ground.
      Just more detailed stuff than "modified original engine and seq. gearbox" :/
      I was asking out of curiosity because usually everyone, their cat and their mother swap the CA for a SR20DET or a RB, so seeing a CA pushed to the limit is interesting.

    Maybe he need more downforce on the front... the car has an uncontrollable understeer ...and also a inch less on the rear rims can help

      Understeer? Hahah, this S13 has only oversteer. Inch less? Wider rim and tire = more grip ...

    • @MrBalessio
      @MrBalessio 10 років тому

      when you take the corner the front try to go out so it's understeer . then inch less in diameter not in wider

      Alessio Possamai I know, but:
      1. This car has almost no understeer, so why you want improve it?
      2. You wrote: "also a inch less on the rear rims can help" - HOW CAN IT HELP?! You want him to have less grip? pff...
