Valentin Gard drives this Nissan at Massongex 2011 thats the first part of the Vid.
After 01:30 you find footage about the season 2012 from Hillclimb in Ayent-Anzere und again Massongex. The car was much more modified in season 2012, compare the sound!

Massongex 2011 was the first hill climb of my life .. not much experince!
In 2011 the car developed 420hp and winter 2011-2012 I changed manifolds of the intake and exhaust camshafts and turbo. This helped me out 580hp. The engine is a CA18DET 1.8l.
I ride primarily for the pleasure.
For 2013 I will update my Nissan 200sx with a 6-speed sequential box one.

Pour 2013 cette Nissan 200sx recois une évolution côté boite à vitesse. Avec
une boite 6 vitesses séquentielles.

Amazing!!! great driving and a amazing job on that CA18DET!!! But why is the road wet as hell in one shot and dry as "hell" in the next... is it a composite of hill climbs or is it just a local rain on some of the track?
Alexander Wingeskog It's a cut of some stages the rain footage was maybe from a training lap and the dry from another lap

not sure if the car is not set-up to it's optimum or the drive is not used to it..
The guy went as far as putting a GTR badge in front of the car. I assume it could probably be a RB engine. ( check at 2:06 )
Can you get some more detailed specs of the car - what turbocharger and engine parts, suspension etc...
Damn cool car, but it has a little too much power for it's own good. It could use some more down-force and some wider tires so it actually stays on the track :P

Car has turbo lag and gear problems sort those and it will be more suitable for the hills

Yeah comments shouldn't be used too many times in a row or they look lame.
For my part i don't think it is a rb25, certainly a sr20det or a huge built on a ca18det ^^ but 99% sure it's a sr20
car lacks good balance. he needs to work out those suspension settings, they seem too stiff for this kind of event. its not gripping those turns hard enough to be fast... looks nice tho, minus the huge wing thats useless for this car at those speeds.
Especially for only a 1.25 ton car.
why use ca18 instead of sr20?
deigima it's cheaper, more fuel economic, higher revolutions and it's got an iron block oh and it's cheaper and sounds better than the sr20

Its really cool to see the progression from 420hp to 580! This is the first video I've seen like that, how cool!
Its great seeing the S13 used for grip driving.. They are incredibly nimble cars and the chassis can handle a lot of hp comfortably with the right setup. This car is the God of lightweight Japanese sportscars in my opinion.
with the right setup I believe this car can be 3 sec faster. needs shorter gears and better susp. setup.
sounds like 580hp but can only put like 350 at the wheels before loosing grip etc. has a lot of potential though

SR20's are mostly good if you want to buy a motor and drop it right in.
or if you arent looking to do a lot of work to it.
CA18's, if built, are a little stronger then the SR20's for various reasons.
go onto some 240sx/180sx/silvia forums for more information, a lot of people are always posting and asking the differences for their own build.
also there is a chance that where these guys are, the CA is more popular and readily available so it is a better choice financially.

I would be guessing something like:
Forged internals. Maybe bigger locking pins for pistons.
Good meassured clearences.
Bored block
Resurfaced block
Resurfaced top
Bigger intake/exhaust valves
New seats machined
Stiffer spring. Supertech or tomei maybe.
264 degree camshafts? HKS or Tomei.
Adjustable camgears for overlapping
Custom exhaustmanifold. Maybe twinscroll.
3071 - 3071r turbo. Maybe gtx now as that's the new series.
3" all the way.
1200 - 1600cc injectors. Pending if he's running e85 or regular petrol.
Oil cooler is a must.
Bigger radiator with electrical fans
Might give you a pointer atleast.
My setup will be similar. I'll go 256 tomei cams, 2867gtx garret. Probably end at 400rwhp ish.

Such a gorgeous thing the 180/200/240 SX is. You dont seen them being used for grip driving often.

that thing looks so solid. hardly any body roll at all.
turbocharged vehicles.......good for hills but bad for togue.....will have some lag yes. the car come on full boost extremely fast thus the screaming......
dose any one know what other mods he did what internals he's got forge head work as far as i am told the ca18 can make 300 but this has proved it worng wow i would love to get my hands on this spec on the motor and bulid one here in Perth wa doe he have a page or face book wow
Well 'BEAST MODE' has been used in the comments section of almost all of MPZ's latest vids, simply because they recently said that was a popular comment on one of their vids. The comment was getting thrown around by 'like' whores everywhere, hence my initial response.
The car has plenty of grip in the front because it turns in well. The rear is too stiff which causes the car to overpower itself. Unless the track consisted of only high speed turns then the powerband it useless. Seems like a street car/ drift car that was put in a hill climb.

its an sr20 most likely. Now way is that an RB anything in there. Listen to the sound of the engine. This car is not meant for this race.

How is non Turbo better than Turbo? NA UPHILL? Yeah if your gear ratios are tight but not the case..
This is pretty cool. Myself, I don't have access to cheap foreign market engines, so I decided to do a build with a cheap QG18DE and a transmission adapter instead. E16i rods (forged factory) to drop the CR to 7.6:1 (and ARP con rod bolts). E16i wet manifold fed by SC14 doing drawthrough. VCS delete, and E16 dizzy run off the intake cam via adapter where phaser used to be. GM 5pin ignition to pull timing on boost via hobbs switch. I haven't decided whether to do wet or dry sump yet, but if wet I'll def need to mod the oil pan. Ah yeah, KA24 ARP head studs too. Aiming for 250-ish HP and plenty of low end torque. Why do this? because I can

Was für ein tolles Video! Das erste mal dass ich einen S13 sehe der bei Bergrennen fährt, und dann gleich noch so ein Monster! Das Auto macht bestimmt einen höllen spaß ;-) Ein Lob an den Fahrer und Erbauer!
Unser Team wird ende dieses Jahres (vielleicht wird es auch erst 2014) auch mit einem unüblichen Auto an den Start gehen bei dem ein oder anderen Rennen.

hab auchmal n S13 gehabt , hab immernoch n paar teile davon zuhause !
z.B. ne Invidia Auspuffanlage !

Yeah, no shit captain obvious; I said it's a fail because it's supposed to be 200SX, not SX200. I hate when people tell me things I already know; want to hear something that you probably already know? When the 180SX was first manufactured in Japan, it was sold with the CA18; a couple years later in its production, it was upgraded to the SR20DET but retained the 180SX name. In other markets like the UK, it was called the 200SX but had a CA18. Now I hope you know how I feel.

Actually, the Silvia was titled the 200sx in Austrailia and parts of Europe. The US got the 240sx and the rest of the world got the 180sx/Silvia.
