- Hey there Flight Fam!
I passed my private pilot check-ride! This video is an in depth look at my check-ride experience. Hopefully other students or those interested in the Private Pilot Rating might find it useful.
Thanks for joining me on my journey as a Flight Attendant working to become an Airline Pilot!
Congrats! I would say this DPE does not sound the best. Just because you did a Go-around does not mean he should be upset. Then he rushes you on slow flight to hurry up. Unreal. Being a pilot means being patient, thinking straight and making the best decisions.
I have heard that DPEs sometime do this to create pressure to see how the student handles that pressure. Every DPE distribute exams differently, while following the same ACS standards, so you never know exactly what your getting lol. I have heard worst stories of examiners so I am thankful, I passed!
Congratulations!! 🎉🎊 so amazing!!
Thank you, babe! More to come!
Congrats! Good job! Have check ride coming up next month. Thanks for the tips!
Hopefully, this video helped some! Good luck on your check-ride!
Congrats bro... great tips🤘✈️💯
Congratulations! How exciting.
Thanks Alex!
Congratulations! Good luck on becoming an airline pilot!
Thanks Jim, I have received a lot of encouragement in these comments, and it’s awesome!
Dang that music though ! Sounds like you saved the world 😆Congratulations !!
Thanks Sam! It was supposed to be a breaking news type music in the beginning! Lol
Congratulations!! I have my check ride in two days:)) Btw, how long was your oral?
Congratulations bro! I have my check ride on January 12. Sounds like your DPE was a bit unreasonable. I was told don't rush your maneuvers, go arounds are always welcomed, risk management decision making, and if you are a safe pilot. Good luck thanks for sharing.
Thank you! My DPE was a little “old school” with the pressure. That is awesome advice, Victor. I would stick to that advice. Safer is better! Good luck on your check ride! That’s right around the corner.
Nice job! Thanks for sharing. Loved the honestly. Very helpful.
Thanks Eric, glad you find it helpful!
Let’s goooooooooo! Congrats!
Thanks Lu!
Nice job and good luck with your continued goal.
Appreciate that!
I’ll making sure to watch this video one’s a day until my checkride 😂😂
Haha thanks Saokim! I tried to make it as detailed as I could remember. So hopefully it helps you out some! I listened to “Pass Your Private Pilot Checkride” by Jason Schappert once a day on audio book too. Lol
Good luck on your checkride!
great video dude! sitting for my check ride soon and I'm pretty nervous
You got this, Thomas! Chair fly that check ride, it limits the amount unexpected scenarios that can be presented! I’m sure you’ll do great! 💪🏽
awesome...
Congratulations. I just passed my PPL checkride 2 weeks ago.
Congrats! Glad all your hard work paid off!
97ES! I’m training with her right now actually, congrats man!
So cool! I loved EchoSierra! Glad this video found you! Good luck on your training! Keep going💪🏽
Noticed the tail number and the familiar voice from ATC right away:)
Thanks for those tips and sharing, checkride coming up, I’m from the other school on the field
Safe flying as always!
Hi Debby! Good luck on your checkride! I’m sure you’ll do great! 😄 Aviation can be such a small world, and I love that!
@@FlyingwithKev great and I am just sitting in the terminal when replying:) mind to share who the DPE is? sounds like the one im gonna go with...
@@debbyf Hey Debby, love to help out you out. If you have Instagram, you can DM @flyingwithkev
thanks:) DMed
Congrats 🎊
Thanks Sam!
Great video mine is coming up soon. Are you 141 or 61?
Short Field landing is the hardest.
Yay!!! Congrats Kevin!!
Thanks Thao!
That's awesome congrats! What commercial aircraft are you wanting to fly?
I would love fly as big as they get! We go as large as the 777 and 787 in the Airlines I work for. Hopefully, I can fly a CRJ in the regionals at least in 2-3 yrs of training and flight time accumulation.
how many hours you had when you took your checkride ?
10:40 Dude….. you didn’t look for that on Google earth the day before? I Google Earth everything! haha.. Then at 23:00 wow.. I’m only about a month into learning and I instantly knew that you have to remove some flaps and increase that AOA to climb. So that makes me feel good about all the time I’ve spent this far in my flight SIM. Which I fly in almost every day. Your video is very helpful. I took a lot of notes. Thank you for this video!
Thanks! Good luck on your aviation journey!
The guy was mad you did go arounds and told you “you need to get it right or you can just take me back?” What a dickhead lol
They made you fly the XC?
Food is important. You do not want a cranky DPE
Which video did you watch about the steep turn? I will like to watch it as well because I have been struggling with my left steep turns. Thanks
I don’t remember the exact video, but I had a checklist of a steep turn. And every video I watched I would add a tip or item to that checklist if I found something I thought would be useful. Every steep turn video is going to be a little different because of its creator and their technique.
How much time did you take from your day one to check ride?
It took a me a one year from start to finish while working at the airlines as a Flight Attendant.
From what I’ve heard getting your PPL can be some trial and error, especially part 61.
I had to figure what training regimens work best for me! It turns out volume of training and consistency work best for me. Like 3-4 lessons a week.
Taxi slow for the DPE. Yep.
How will you know the time you arrive at each airport of crosscountry or lets say when one doing international flight?
Hey Rob! Good question. My phone automatically updates when changing timezones once I take it out of airplane mode once we land. I haven’t flown that far solo, but I have flown a lot of international in my flight attendant career.
@@FlyingwithKev do you have facebook or whatsapp? I got alot of questions
@@robertoforbes3405 Hey Rob, I have a insta: flyingwithkev . I’d be happy to answer any questions!
@@FlyingwithKev good day do you have an email? I dont use instagram sir.
What resources did u use to study for your written exam?
I used the Sportys modules and took a lot of their practice tests! Their adaptive study program finds your weaknesses, and it will give you more of that subject.
I would bet money that this was Juan Rivera.
Sounds like he was just trying to stress you out. You are PIC not him. You can start the maneuvers when you deem you are established. At least that’s what my instructor said. I check in 5 days.
Great observation! Sounds like you ready for your check-ride! Good luck👍🏼
@@FlyingwithKev maybe he was also rushing you because he really just needed to pee from all the snacks you provided. 😂.
Thank you. And congrats on your ppl even though it was ages ago. As someone about to check for the first time, I really appreciate your own thorough reflection of your own practical. The anticipation is really stressing me out though.
Congrats! No Jab for me though
Thank you! I completely understand. I’m big on freedom of choice!
Damn u. Faa wont let me pilot because i am deaf man. Not fair....
