To make this short... This plane really needs its full kit to operate in War Thunder. The F15 without AMRAAMs is like a car without doors... Su27s will eat you up alive in the BVR! even though that you can dogfight efficiently you are still at a minus because you lack HMD! and if a gripen or mirage 4000 locks you down in a fight there is nothing you can do! The only thing you can do in this plane is be supportive to your team mates or come down from altitude to shoot your IR missiles on people that don't see you.

Ikr one of mine just started climbing when the target is perfectly locked and it hit nothing

Mine did a full circle 180* within perfect conditions and bandit not changing BRA...They ghost nerfed it for the SU-27
Worst part is the Aim7m can only go up to the Aim7p variant.
Which doesn’t have a speed change at all both a rated for mach 4. Which hell I’ll give it to Gaijin they made it Mach 4.5 but like god damn we need Aamrams
Considering the current state of aim7m even "downgrading" to aim7f will be an improvement because it actually tracks targets more reliably.
6:20 the AAM-3 actually has identical IRCCM to the AIM-9M, not the R-73. There is no FOV gating after launch. It has the same FOV of 3.6 degrees as the 9L/M, and the same tracking suspension values as the 9M as well.
Atleast how its modeled ingame, but it has different IRCCM in real life

Honestly, seeing how the F-15 in War Thunder plays. The best method I have seen is to side climb to the sky and come in from the rear, or get on top where hardly anyone is looking, setting yourself up for a great advantage to finish unsuspecting players with guns or missiles, and with the plane having the insane T2W ratio, makes it perfect to regain altitude really quickly with rather well energy retention.
AIM-7Ms aren't great from being shot 500-1.00km in altitude from the ground, instead, try sitting around 3500km-8000km for best results/effectiveness. Also, I would like to add that the Aim-7Ms got terrible launch-flight patterns, I recommend aiming your jet up into a climb and launching your missile since the Aim-7s tend to "drop", doing this will help give the missile time for course adjustment once fired! Since I learned this trick, I haven't missed a missile that I was confident in launching.
Overall, the F-16 and F-15 are on par in terms of aerial combat, with the F-15 taking an edge but marginally. It's still a new plane and people are just beginning to learn its quirks, and given time, I am sure the F-15 will be more liked by the general public of high tier games. :)

With or Without AMRAAMs, the F15 should get better AIM-7's, like the MH.

F-15A was around for just 2 years... we are roleplaying a f-15C(early).
The AIM-7P was only made in limited numbers and put in service with the NAVY only.
The only sparrow variant the F-15 can get which isn't even really a major upgrade is the MH.
AIM-120As not being added is just hilarious.
@@mikmak3mk748right now the f 15 does not need an amraam at all, it has one of the best flight performances of top tier, debatebaly the best ir missle, insane acceleration and really high twr. Only thing it is not far above average is in bvr terms, and that is with every too tier en because radars are borked.
@@verzache-R-73 is far better than the sidewinder, assuming optimal conditions for each. Peak hit rate for R-73 is gonna be roughly 80% if used perfectly while the AIM-9M has a hit rate more like 40-60% under optimal conditions. Before the proxy fuse nerf on sidewinders there was an argument for either being better, but with the nerf, the best IR missile is undoubtedly the R-73. (In case you didn’t see, the AIM-9M, AIM-9L and most navy sidewinders now have a 1.8 second proxy fuse delay)
@@thatcarguydom266 idk where u get those peak hit rates from, but I speak from experience. The irccm from the 9m's is insane, accidentally flaring them is next to impossible, while it is pretty easy to do with the r 73 and in top tier rn that makes a huge difference
what literally 99% of players seem to not get is that although the 27ER is amazing, it still is only as good as the radar that guides it in. It's lethal on the MiG-29 and 141, because they have decent to good radars. It's really mid on the Su-27, because the radar on it is absolute dog$hid. On the other hand, NATO countries have access to the 9M which is leagues above the R-73 when used to orbital strike.

Russian mains will understand 7m pain only when the Amraam and mica are released, but no r77 since the current su27 should not be able to carry it (even though it will 99%)
f15a didn't use Amraam either. But the game doesn't reflect reality anyway. Su 27 with missiles in the game came more than 10 years after f 15a.

@@christopherchartier3017 But F 15A never did carry them. The MIG 29A could use and did carry r73, but its stuck with r60s. May as well add the F 15C with amraams at a higher br and increase the su 27's br, maybe also buff its flight model.

@@brafianblackfyre9220 the F-15 in the game is the upgraded MSIP F-15A. It should have its upgraded radar and it CAN and DID carry AMRAAMs before the USA decided to retire the F-15A’s, so yes the one in game can use AMRAAMs, but gaijin have it the wrong radar
"Be a good team player" what game are you playing? Because it isn't War Thunder. No such thing as teammates, just enemies you are forced to work with.
Also the F-15 doesn't have thrust vectoring. I feel like you're talkin out of your rear end most of this video.
top tier is a numbers game, you are forced to play for the team or you will have to deal with 15 players chasing you with no back up ( the one enemy player I missed crashed on take off )
i spent so much time getting the f15 just to find out it's horrible almost everything can and will kill you with ease, you not that fast and your turn speed while flying semi fast, the missiles are decent, but consittering the fact that almost every team has like 2-4 su27's your done for they are so much better than anything its just hurts to watch at this point.

Some F15A's that underwent the MSIP 1 program indeed only got flares, as the MSIP 1 program was canceled due to cost overruns, with most all F15A's built before 1977 being cut from the retrofitment list entirely for incompatibility issues.
To my knowledge no single F15A airframe ever received all of the MSIP upgrades either, with the few that were accepted into the program being given any upgrade that individual airframe was compatible with. Chances are Gaijin will save these upgrades for the F15C (aka MSIP 2) with AMRAAM capability and possibly even the APG-63(V3) and the JMHCS HMD upgrades from 2007.
I dont think the amraam will be broken or the r77. The players are gonna figure out the tactics to deal with them will be different and it will seem that way. Thats is my assumption of course.
It depends on how many there will be in a match, if 8v8 it will be counter able, otherwise its a no go
The 120 will out range the 77 like the er does the aim7 currently. But thats when you'll start to see real day bvr tactics start emerging in WT and I think it will be fun

The aim7m feels just so weak. I carry only one in the F-15 in the odd chance I need it, but otherwise it's just dead weight. What surprised me was how this seems to only affect the aim7m and not other variants of the missile. Yesterday I was playing with FGR2 and Tornado F3, with skyflash DF and super temps respectively, and they hit their mark every single time even at low alt. Yet the aim7m goes stupid even against bots sometimes. Now that I think about it, maybe the 7m just doesn't pull enough for how fast it goes and that's why the slower super temps are able to turn tighter and hit way more reliably.
I am having a lot of fun with it thanks to the aam3
They absolutely fucked up AIM-7M in the update. I only fly Sim, my ratio went from decent 3 missiles to 1 kill to 20 to get 1 kill. 3 to 1 down to 20 to 1.
IRCCM is odd with the AIM-9M too, more like the Lima now.
I'll be playing Mig-29 and Su-27 exclusively because US top tier is bent over and getting clapped. It was balanced, now it's blatantly one sided. I got both, I'm impartial but I'm not about to hemorrhage my hard earned SL bank to play a tree the devs deliberately fucked over.

@@arcroyal1258 Italy will be fine. Nothing really competes with the su-27 so the f16 isn’t suffering like you think it is. Italy will eventually have a gripen, eurofighter along with the tornado series for ground so they’ll be fine.

Dude I gotta say, I got that thing today and… man is this thing bland, it just feels so basic and boring, quite a disappointment since it’s one of my favorite planes. This plane literally feels and looks as if I were eating a simples cheese burger with the patty, the cheese and the buns. That’s how bland it feels to play this tbh ngl

Every single one I throw just blows up or my green square flickers away. To add insult to the American iconic fighter the F-15 can't even hold on to it's wings they are made of paper! I have 5 years in air rb. The F-15's long range missile capabilities are so horrible that I just take sidewinders. Third, It's sad that Anton Yudintsev (CEO of wt) has allowed such poor performance to be reflected by such a prestigious combat winning aircraft in real life. It's so obvious that this is a Russian owned game from Moscow originally and many current employees are Russian though different parts of developers are now based in Hungary, Germany, and Cyprus.
It's complete BULL S***. The only thing I agree about the F-15 in the game is its flight performance and I am appreciative that gaijin did an okay job of the graphics model visually for the F-15. At least I have a cool jet (the F-15) to look at before the "chosen plane" through favoritism (Su-27) shoots everything down with its 10 best missiles in the game. Great time gaijin, really nailed it sHoWiNg OfF yOuR BiAsEd direction of development for what jet you favor the most. F****** losers from the cold war, we know who the real super power is in real life 💪🇺🇸

@@demscrazy6574 The B and C variants are scary, but the A has numerous issues that get solved by B. Even so, it's not hard to dodge an AMRAAM, especially in an environment like WT where everyone's permanently on the deck. You'd have better luck with the 9x.

@@demscrazy6574 They'd care when you hide behind terrain for longer than 3 seconds. You'd get warned about a launch a good 30 seconds after the missile goes pitbull too, plenty of time to avoid it. Not to mention we get danger diamonds for faster warnings.
Look dude, these things are easy to avoid in sims. In WT you have way more options and vision. Fox 3s will be just like fox 1s, mark my words.
For me it was DOA. Nothing outstanding and overall pretty mid. Would rather use the F-14B in this missile meta.

The flight model is broken. It just does not lose speed in a turn. Can't get it below 500kmh. It pulls and keeps pulling. And its easy to beat any f16. Devs should fix this. Otherwise this plane takes no effort to be good, that sucks
