It is amusing how he is so smitten with and shocked by how she turns up on this song. Most of us over 40, know this routine very well. It's great that younger folks are appreciating it.
Tina Turner the legend who taught all her younger contemporaries how to put on a show and the woman who taught Mick Jagger how to strut. A born survivor and entertainer
90,000 capacity and that mug is packed... She's 60 or 61 here I believe and Tina's concerts always sold out to the very end and here's a prime example why, first off, she sounds AMAZING live, second, her performances, they were always high energy and top tier and she loved her fans dearly and was a performer and entertainer through and through and loved doing it.. truly, when you attended a Tina Turner concert, you got a Tina Turner experience ❤❤ great reaction. Fly High Tina.. #theoriginalproudmary
She has been doing this Proud Mary dance for over 40 years. It is, IMO, the most iconic rock/R&B "dance routine" (along with some of MJ's moves). Everyone waits for that transition and for the real dance to start. I smile and move every time I see it. Gold.
When you said "legs going nuts", I cracked up. I adore Tina! And it is amazing to see young people falling in love with her for the first time!!! And I loved your awesome review❤. Your reaction and Tina's magic had ME going nuts!!!
In order to put things in perspective, this was Tina's final performance at Wembley. She was an astonishing 60 years old at the time. Known throughout her career for those great legs (and dancing in high heels) her powerful voice, and high energy performances...and those incredible legs were still intact. Tina is still with us and still looks great at the ripe young age of 80. The Queen of Rock and Roll. Long may she reign.
At age 72...72!! in Dallas, she put on an equally unbelievable performance!! And did it ALL in high heels! She is the best! Best concert, hands down, ever!
I LOVE seeing young people react to the older artists. Tina is about 80+ now (2020) and I pray she knows how much she is still loved. That lady had tremendous energy and talent. Love her to life!
Was fortunate to have been there at Wembley that night - what a concert, what a singer, what a legend! One of the best nights ever!! Loving your reactions - thanks and stay safe!
I was "only" in Munich to watch that show but I can only confirm what you wrote, what a night!! I saw her 2 more times later in the 90s but though the concerts were great they could not match with the Break Every Rule Tour!
Back in the 70's she had her legs insured with Lloyds of London for $5,million dollars. In today's money that would be $5 billion dollars. When she made this concert she was 69 Y/O. She died last year at 83 YO.
Tina Turner! Star! Legend! Looks great! Dances double great! Sings Faaaaaaaaantastically sweet AND hot! Been lovin' Tina long time! So try not to take it the wrong way when I say, Dereck.....who needs you?!
Tina is a fabulous performer and always has been. She's lived a life full of tremendous hardship and success. I recommend watching her biopic What's Love Got To Do With It. It's an awesome movie. Anyways, great video. Keep up the good work.
Live is indescribable. I've been blessed to see her perform twice, and she is a POWERHOUSE on stage! Videos of her live performances can't even come close to the real thing
I've been lucky enough to see Tina a few times over the years. However fantastic she seems on video, she is on another level when you are there live. She is a true performer and she always makes sure the audience get there money's worth. She's the best!
🧡 Tina ! There's no one like her. A lifetime of talent and sass that's brought her her much-deserved icon status. Tina, Gladys, Aretha, Patti, Donna, ... the list goes on! Thanks again, Dereck, for another great reaction.
This gives me chills every time I watch it and I was lucky enough to see her perform this live a few years ago during her last tour of the UK. Unforgettable. A Queen without a doubt. Thank you for another great reaction!
she could sing and dance at the same time without losing breath control. No one could do it better. All the current singers have to lip sinc to their songs if they even do a little bit of dancing in their concerts. She is legend
And just think she was 61 years old doing this performance, imagine what she was like in her twenties! I remember it well! "What's Love Got to do With It" the official video should be your next reaction! Fabulous reaction!
Oh my god! Ive seen This a long time ago but its still amazes me. There are two fireworks here, the first one and then Tina and the girls. Just imagine Dancing and singing with this energy, in those heels!? Its one of the best performances in the world for sure.! Thanks for a Wonderful reaction.
Can you explain how she maintains that powerful vocals while running around and dancing please. Shouldn’t we hear breathlessness when she sings. This woman is incredible!👑🎤
I had a rather disheartening day at work today but this sure brightened my day. Thanks so much Dereck for doing this great reaction. Tina is truly one of the best performers ever, giving every fibre of her being to the performance. Her energy is unmatched. She wasn't called 'the hardest working woman in show business' for nothing. I like one of the lines that she used during live performances of this song earlier on in her career: 'People ask me: when am I gonna slow down. You know what I tell 'em? I'm just getting started!' Here's a concert filmed in the Netherlands early 1984: ua-cam.com/video/kX0RMTu2ucM/v-deo.html. Proud Mary is at 53:15 where she used that line as well. This was not long before she became a superstar with the Private Dancer album so she was still playing smaller venues. But she always gave just as much energy and stage presence to her performance as when she played huge stadiums just a few years later. Exceptional woman.
I just knew you would love this performance. I can be feeling down, but when this song comes up my veins start throbbing with energy. Tina is literally the best performer that has ever existed.
Hands down the greatest live performer I have had the pleasure of seeing. Saw her numerous times in the 80’s and 90’s. Actually got to meet her! She is- simply the best!
I saw her in concerts a few times and she always gave 110% in her shows - very physical and tons of energy. And she was in her 60s then! She's freaking amazing!
I had gotten to see her twice! Both times I just started my ninth month pregnancy after being on 5 months bed rest. I gave birth within 24 hours later.! She was so fantastic! She tops my favorite concerts I have ever seen. I have seen a lot.
Why are ppl always so amazed when 60+ women sing something amazing, but when the 60,70+ counterparts (males) do the same it's just seen as an of course... Tina's a legend in her own right
Imagine being at her concert you would be in a state of energy and something never experienced before let me tell you Derek l went to her concerts 3 times and it wasn't enough l wanted more she's in simply the best
I had the good luck to be able to see Tina Turner in concert back in the 80s! She was really on a roll back then! And the only word that comes to mind when I think about that night is...ELECTRIFYING! She was absolutely spellbinding and I will never forget it!
I love her performances, a 60 year old goddess, learning the 20 years old backings the way it should be done, and the best part is that the young ones are having a hard time to keep up with her 😂🎉❤
I literally can't tell you how buzzed I am to see a reaction of this performance. Once again you have fantastic taste , your reactions are awesome to watch and your a cutie too. Long may you continue! X
I love this concert of Tina's. Superb. I was lucky enough to see Tina 30 years ago. Her backup singers were all wearing long wigs and so was Tina. The hair flip they all do in unison, with the arms going forward, is so raw and primal. Never saw anything like it, other than James Brown, with the whole cape thing goin' on.
It is amusing how he is so smitten with and shocked by how she turns up on this song. Most of us over 40, know this routine very well. It's great that younger folks are appreciating it.
To think she was in her early 60s here- stunning , and all that energy.
Domhnall Hart Watch her live show performance of this song when she’s 73!
David Charles Fisher oh I’ve seen it! Even at that age she put on such a high energy show!
Check out her duet with Bryan Adams, It’s Only Love. Those voices together with guitars gets my blood moving.
62 at the time. check out her with the 2010 when she was 70
For me it’s when she does that stomp, plants her leg and does her shimmy. All of them are completely synched and it makes make heart skip a beat. 😊
There's a reason why Tina Turner was inducted into the Guniness Book of Records for selling more tickets than any other solo artist in history
Exactly what I thought
Let me guess why… for selling more tickets than any other solo artist in history?
She's telling and performing a story!
This will always be Tina’s song
Tina Turner the legend who taught all her younger contemporaries how to put on a show and the woman who taught Mick Jagger how to strut. A born survivor and entertainer
Absolutely 💯, The Queen of Rock n Roll.
Certified, undisputed.❤💎👑
We baby boomers are NOT old foggies. I loved her amazing performances. One of my favorite songs.
Have no idea what your response is regarding to. Age was never mentioned in a derogatory manner. An icon is an icon regardless of age.
90,000 capacity and that mug is packed... Those of us in our 60's already know what's coming
Who says 60 can't be sexy? Fabulous performance.
sexy and stylish... no vulgarity
Amen!!!
Age Is Only A Number
21 and Older
I loved everything you said about Tina! Absolutely right that was a performance for the ages.
Cos she's Simply the Best !!! ❤
Accolades to the background singers and dancers. They help make the show. and they are so gorgeous and talented.
She was in Her 60’s here.....damn! Tina is a legend!!!!
LOL... She warned you, and you were still surprised. LOL

I was there too. Still one of the most incredible concerts I've been too. And I've been to far too many, and seen a lot of the greats.
I was "only" in Munich to watch that show but I can only confirm what you wrote, what a night!!
I saw her 2 more times later in the 90s but though the concerts were great they could not match with the Break Every Rule Tour!
Lucky
Tina is a freaking LEGEND! She is badass in this performance. LOVE her.

She was so good, so sad she's gone.
She was 60 here looking and dancing like this. RIP, my QUEEN 🕊 ❤😢
Back in the 70's she had her legs insured with Lloyds of London for $5,million dollars. In today's money that would be $5 billion dollars. When she made this concert she was 69 Y/O. She died last year at 83 YO.
Esto solo lo podia hacer TINA❤❤❤
She preformed this song for decades, she always owned it!
63 and killing it! I'm in my late 50s, fit, a gym freak... this woman is my inspiration. I want to be like her when I grow up!
I want to be like you when I grow up!🥺
@@anastasiatee9254 You can! It just takes that first step. Do it! Dream! Plan! Do!
Yeah I’m a gym freak already... I just want to continue being a gym freak even in my 50’s and 60’s
Yeah I’m a gym freak already... I just hope to keep being a gym freak in my 50’s and 60’s
I was there both nights at Wembley. Hard to believe it was 20 years ago this month. You can even see me in the video lol
This was a woman in her 60s, a hero for those of us women that had to restart a life.
Tina Turner! Star! Legend! Looks great! Dances double great! Sings Faaaaaaaaantastically sweet AND hot! Been lovin' Tina long time! So try not to take it the wrong way when I say, Dereck.....who needs you?!
"I expect something big" Its Tina Turner, its always big...
*Irreplaceable* ... *Incomparable* ... *Icon* ... *Legend* ... There is, and will be only *one* *Tina Turner* in all of humanity.

Live is indescribable. I've been blessed to see her perform twice, and she is a POWERHOUSE on stage! Videos of her live performances can't even come close to the real thing
62 years old and in high heels!
Straight jaw dropping performance that leaves you speechless..
All you can do is sing and dance along with her.
I've been lucky enough to see Tina a few times over the years.

She has been doing Proud Mary - easy, then rough since 1971 back to her days with Ike Turner.
The 1st time Ike (😬😠) and Tina performed this song was 1969. I was 8, I remember it clearly.
*******Good to play again
TINA, the best 🥰🥰🥰 👏👏👏👌👌👌👍👍.
Simply the best!!
What's more impressive is watching some of the newer videos where she is doing this in her 70's.
she is the Queen of Music
I just knew you would love this performance. I can be feeling down, but when this song comes up my veins start throbbing with energy. Tina is literally the best performer that has ever existed.

Tina is the queen. Her dancers and band slayed it.
I had gotten to see her twice! Both times I just started my ninth month pregnancy after being on 5 months bed rest. I gave birth within 24 hours later.! She was so fantastic! She tops my favorite concerts I have ever seen. I have seen a lot.
This was on her last concert tour. I saw it. Tina is the best... in her 60s she was so hot she could make teenage boys cry.
Why are ppl always so amazed when 60+ women sing something amazing, but when the 60,70+ counterparts (males) do the same it's just seen as an of course...
Tina's a legend in her own right
The LEGENDARY, LATE, GREAT, ICONIC Ms. Tina Turner, was 61 years old here. Dancing and running in 6" heels.
