I'd never touch Sky myself. I remember that first PPV boxing match. I worked with a much younger colleague who wanted to pay the £5 fee , we tried to persuade him not to as it was experimental, and if no one paid, it would fail and be better for us all in the long run. But he paid the extra anyway. Next week we asked him how the match was and he said he fell asleep and missed it as it was on in the middle of the night!! Some people are so easily persuaded by hype, unfortunately.
I vehemently agree. The original promise of cable in the USA before the internet was to pay a monthly fee in exchange for NO commercials. Obviously, that battle was lost long ago. Regarding UA-cam (and all streaming platforms), I just wish the commercials were regulated into the equivalent of legacy broadcast TV, aka 12 minutes of video + 3 minutes bathroom brea ... commercials. Merry Mysti Holidays!
I love your videos Allen as I've always enjoyed watching a craftsman at work and explaining what they're doing and why ... Merry Christmas to you and all the best for 2025
As a viewer and long term user of YT. I dont mind a sponsorship if its a product you personally used and Im also much more likely to look it up. You can have a patreon/membership without offering any extra perks and people who want to support can still do so! Just my two pence
Love the channel and hope you keep going. Merry Christmas and happy holidays to everyone. Sent a few quid your way, hope you'll get enough for a better PC. There are many good UK PC youtubers that would love to help you and get some content out of it like Adamant IT. IMO nothing wrong with Patreon, no one is forcing one to join but if one wants to support a channel one enjoys why not give them a way.
UA-cam Premium is how I watch. I have been a video creator for five years, in that time across all the platforms I'm oni have received $3.33, I think it's hilarious. We are.definately different channels as I'm a bit ad-hoc and silly where you are public service. I don't think I'll ever monetise whereas I really hope you do. Love Your Work. Glad I subscribed and I'll continue to watch into the new year. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
For any pc make sure you install ssd drives and not mechanical drives and you will see major speed differences also a good gpu would be good for 4k editing because it can then take advantage of cuda cores. 16gb memory ddr4 is standard.
That mic is far better although obviously not suitable moving around. However your audio (including intro music) is way down on average, I have to lift my volume by 25% for this channel. Clearly a TV channel not an audio one 😂. Have a great crimbo and good luck with the new PC
I agree with what you're saying about patreon but then there are people out there who's full time and only job is making UA-cam video's. A guy that comes to mind is Stevie T. He's an amazing Canadian guitarist who lives in the middle of nowhere and will spend three days making and editing a short vid. Companies will often send him guitars and equipment worth many thousands of dollars for free and all he has to do is play those guitars on his channel. The guy is completely crazy but very intelligent and funny. However, he has spoken out about how demanding YT can be when pushing for more vids with certain types of content.
Sorry to be flippant, but that microphone cover makes you look like you have a really odd hairstyle! Anyway, it never ceases to amaze me that people complain about the TV licence, but happily spend eighty odd quid per month on a Sky package. Now, I've only ever uploaded one video to UA-cam, but it got 63 million views and earned my daughter (who owned the copyright) about £12,000. Sadly it all went on paying for her divorce after her husband abandoned the family, but at least she didn't end up in debt. I'd just like to say that it's nice to find someone who wants to earn their living without ripping people off and manages to behave decently. Happy Christmas.
@@allenfleckney5969 I know a little bit about pc's and a gaming laptop could be a costly mistake in my view. The number of gaming laptops that die and can't be saved is outrageous. There are some very good mini desktops around now but for editing videos, I would definitely build my own and if you're stuck for space a smaller case would work for you. A decent business type laptop would be a better option than a gaming. I'm not an expert, just have a bit of experience, good luck, merry xmas.
Love the channel. Love your integrity and I'm glad for people willing to provide their knowledge and information for the benefit of all.

100% agree just like most of the 'price comparison' sites are owned by corporations so guess who they are going to point you towards for 'best buys' 🤔
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you and yours, Keep up the great work Allen.

Never bought a ppv ever, never missed one either 😉 It was when I ditched them, greed doesn't always pay.

Allen it's the same in Australia it's just government taxes and sports channels just want money. I am a pensioner who struggles to live
Merry Christmas, all the best for the New Year.
Would have loved to send a couple of quid but it seems that you must have a Paypal account to send money. I try to avoid Paypal if I can.
Good rant Allen. Informative , interesting and enjoyable.
You showed me how to fix my own tv, definitely worth a fiver of anyone's money, I will get the wife to send you a donation :)
Don't give up the channel
I won’t. Thank you.
Happy Holidays.
Thank you.
It's a shame how all the big corporations milk every penny. As for yt adds. That pathetic heater should not be allowed.
no cat!,have a good one
Merry Christmas Fleckers
Thank you. Have a good one
If content creators made money from making people mad they would all be rich. 😅
I think you should do exactly one sponsorship. And use that money to get yourself the PC you need. End.
You pay for SKY TV and still get Adverts 😠
Not right is it. Cake and eat it. Have a great Cmas
Try a gaming laptop
If I can afford it I will. Thank you.
