We will need decent non-sponsored reviews that reveal whether the G9 OLED has the same glaring problems (some of which are unsolved as of today) as the G9 Neo - e.g. massive heat signature from the center of the screen (imagine a sauna in summer); scan lines and intermittent static lines that only go away when you update the firmware AND tweak the SDR Windows brightness level. Also it looks like this will have a glossy screen?
I have this monitor and love it. Oled... the hype is real. Productivity text and viewing... no issues. Only issue is i am using pc display port... and after sleep i get a screen flicker. Usually passes after unplugging and replugging in the display cable. I give the monitor experience aside from the cable flicker a 10/10. What a joy.
They had to remove the 1000R curve because the glare would be unbearable. It seems kind of weird to compare the neo g9 to this since the curve really makes a big difference in immersion.
Not sure how I like the reduced height of the panel. I prefer multiple screens for work but on the home PC I'm really doing just one thing at a time. I'd have to live with one for a while I guess.
Found out today I could do dual screen with my original G9. Have a USB-C docking station & HDMI plugged directly into my laptop. Set resolution to match & works perfect
I'd recommend searching on UA-cam for videos on work setups that use different monitors and/or going to a store that has display models. I have the G9 Neo and I use it to display 3-4 windows side-by-side (32:9). A 48 inch 4K 16:9 monitor lets you have multiple windows top and bottom (rather than side by side), while a monitor like the 45 inch UltraGear sits somewhere in the middle with 21:9. You'd need to decide if the resolution and PPI suits you. A lot of people complain about low PPIs, but personally I cannot see the difference.
@@IamAshL and what is quality? One could argue quality requires a level of reliability, and currently OLED cannot claim better reliability. I'm not saying OLED isn't good, but I would say it's good under certain conditions. Just as IPS, miniLED, VA, etc. People talk up OLED as if it's the endgame monitor, and it's far from it. It has strengths and weaknesses just like all the other panels.
I’m going to be picking up a monitor here in the next few days and it’s either going to be the G9 0led or the new G9 Neo. If I am going to be splitting my time between work and gaming, am I going to have a better experience with the old lead or the Qled?
OLEDs have a risk of burn in but have better quality picture and video quality as well as less blue light. I have the G9 Neo and am considering an upgrade to OLED (just waiting on reviews for the upcoming 49 inch monitors to compare with existing 45 inch 21:9 and 48 inch 16:9 monitors). The G9 Neo has some outstanding issues that even the latest firmware still has not fixed. The problem is a lot of YT reviews are sponsored and thus do not really reveal the problems normal users report.

@@Lukex29 In HDR mostly mini leds are better, very dark scenes are much rarer where OLED is superior. Even the regular G7 Odyssey is significantly brighter almost in every scene than AW3423, for example. There's a comparison on UA-cam. OLED for HDR is a false hype. It's inferior.

Bien sûr, dans la garantie commerciale, comme l'objet n'est pas réparable, il te donne un bon d'achat pour acheter un autre produit similaire ou un plus cher en rajoutant la différence. Du coup, j'ai acheté la version G9 NEO qui est plus évoluée. J'ai récupéré l'argent du premier écran, j'ai rajouté 400€ de ma poche et j'ai eu le nouveau. Directement les clignotements d'écran dans les Jeux comme Call of Duty ne se faisaient plus. L'écran était beaucoup plus réactif, le contraste était beaucoup mieux et Une meilleure qualité de construction ^^ mais cette version G9 NEO il reste quelques défauts, des fois de tremblements d'image ou des choses un peu farfelues. C'est très peu, mais c'est assez avec une vidéo en garantie pour demander un remplacement de produit. Ce qui se fait que un an et 8 mois après en magasin, il y aura l'écran OLED à ma portée de main. Pour un nouveau remplacement en garantie =) à partir de ce moment-là, selon à quelle date tu as acheté ton écran Odyssey 9 tu sais ce qui te reste à faire =) mais ça reste des très bons écrans.

This monitor can become multiple monitors.. it can do pretty much anything

Has it been confirmed if its the same panel or v2 that should og brighter and be more resilient to burn in ?
The settings for your mic for voice overs doesn’t accentuate the qualities of your voice as good as the live mic settings.
I still like 27" flat monitors. Tried curved didnt like it, and anything any larger than 27" is distracting to me in a game.

In HDR G9 Neo is mostly better because of its brightness.

I've had the a G9 for over a year and it's a game changer. Even the 5k iMac my wife has doesn't compare in terms of immersiveness.

Whats it like for productivity and coding? The alienware oleds have that weird sub pixel layout in windows, if samsung have fixed that im buying this.
