    Excellent job.
    You can use solder wick to clean pin holes that the solder sucker missed. Also, always screenshot all external hookups to control board for further reference. 👍

    Thanks for the video. Particularly the test mode which reveals the relay failure. Also the reminder to check plug locations is super helpful. I am surprised that they don't make them different to error proof them. Thanks again!

    Put your soldering iron on each of the pins on the back while you pry from the front gently and it will come right out.

    Mine did this today! Can you tell me where you ordered the relay from?
    Nevermind, In description! Haha you rock

    I have a Whirlpool range with same problem, I pulled the relay cover off (power unplugged) and it was burned out like yours, however I pulled the covers off the other two relays and the relay to the right no.2 was also burned out. So I just ordered a new control panel for 201.54 plus expedited shipping of 33.00 from the parts company you gave info for. Thank you ! Will let you know how it went. Anymore problems with the range and I’ll trash it since it’s maybe 4 years old, pretty sad really. I’m interested in an induction oven since I don’t have gas now which I had in all of my last three houses. Gas is my preference by far, the manufacturers should have improved them over all these years since now they are on the hit list for extinction.
    To convert to gas would be a huge undertaking since it’s on the other side of the house and why they didn’t run it when the house was first built is because of the cheap builders. We are second owners.

    My oven doesn't have two elements and it's made this way. It's a whirlpool accubake electric oven. It's take a very long to preheat if gets there at all.

      If your oven has a bake button and a broil button your oven has two elements just that the bake element is hidden away under the lower pan out of sight.

    Great tutorial. Is there a way for me to test the relay with a multimeter before removing it?

    • @RogueWrenching
      @RogueWrenching  4 місяці тому

      Not really, 220v ac is not something you should be poking test probes into, the test procedure I showed and the follow up visual inspection should get you what you need to know.

    How did you remove the orange cover on the sensor?

    • @RogueWrenching
      @RogueWrenching  Місяць тому

      It's a relay not a sensor, but it just pops on, in this case it about fell off in my hand because it was burnt and partially melted. they aren't supposed to come apart but if you lightly grab the top of it with pliers it will come off.

    Is there a risk to just using the electrical tape to keep the flap open or some other means to keep the flap open? Does it take the broil feature away?

    • @kaseycoleman993
      @kaseycoleman993 5 місяців тому

      If you fold the top flap up it will come off completely

    • @RogueWrenching
      @RogueWrenching  4 місяці тому

      electrical tape puts an open into the broil circuit, removing the tab would have the same effect. It's not a permanent fix, it's just a way to make the oven somewhat usable while you wait on the part to show up.

    Hi! Having the same problem with the same stove. Burnt dinner last night! How do I get the orange relay cover off and can you post the part number? Mine is faded and I can't read it. Thanks!

    • @RogueWrenching
      @RogueWrenching  8 місяців тому +1

      The relays should all be the same. The cover isn't supposed to come off. Mine broke off. Just pry it off with pliers. The part numbers should be the same across all 3 relays.

    OMG you are a life saver!! I am so glad I found this video. I bought a Multimeter to start tracking down the problem, but now, I don't even need it. It went out right before my back surgery, so bending down to check with the meter was going to be really hard on me. Trading for a soldering iron! Literally dropped jaw watching you take the soldering off, so cool. Thank you so very much. 🫶

    Can I take that silver piece out that’s suppose to open back up

    • @RogueWrenching
      @RogueWrenching  8 місяців тому

      It's just screws in the back, the trick is to flex the bottom upwards to get the back panel out.

      Are you talking about the little flap at the top of the relay, where he said to put the tape? I took that out instead of putting in the tape and so far it has worked for me. I'm still waiting on the new relay. Thanks @RogueWrenching super helpful video!

      @@brandonberthiaume3690I was wondering if I could just take that little flap out as well.. did that work fine until replacement?
