Yes, I said lymphoma because I had it as well. Had he lived a few more years, the treatments are so much better now - he could have potentially still been painting happy clouds with the happy trees for the happy squirrels and making our hearts happier.
Just think of the hundreds of Paintings that are stored somewhere. That's incredible. All by the best speed artist I know, who's main philosophy was that you con't need to think about what is going to happen next but to go with it and Smile at its beauty. Bob Ross was an incredible man with a great family and well-lived, happy life and it makes me sad every episode I watch that he is no longer with us.
What I love about TV back then is that it was so down to earth - no nonsense, no annoying music or edits or script. If anything the end to these shows were always a bit of anti climax considering how wonderful the paintings are.

You know, Steve's style, while sharing much of the same attributes as his dad's, is SO distinct and different at the same time. Even though Bob painted a lot of similar landscapes this one feels so different. Even the way he paints stuff is different. Absolutely amazing.
