This was the video I was looking for. After hours of search I've got this. Thank you so much for this. Please do this tutorial for Justice league 2001 style.
Your attempt was great, but I highly disagree with animating the idle. You should've just had the hair being animated in stepped, then you would've stumped me. Cuz everyone knows 2D animated characters never have to show signs of breathing. And when they do, it's super limited. Like it's only just the shoulders and torso that moves up and down... Overall, the texturing and lighting is GOLD!
I think there is potential here. I think the affects of the hair is interesting. I am wondering if you used any blurred affects frames in this animation. If not, perhaps you should try on your next project.
@richstubbsanimation Walt Disney pushed the boundaries of animation from Vaudeville to feature length movies and special effects. How do we know the extent of something unless we see where it falls short? Or better finding out how it works when it doesn't work? Plus, for beginners learning 3d animation, wouldn't the skin modifier be a good starting point? With this idea, beginners can make character plus environment to get their feet wet and expand from there. What do you think?
@richstubbsanimation How does it work, though? Someone needs to make a show and tell of it. Otherwise, we will be stuck with what we already have. Being experienced, would you consider making a video around this concept?
Great work, the only thing I'll say is this. 6:51 I don't know if this was on purpose but a problem I found with grease pencil is that bloom is applied before GPencil and so you have those harsh black lines over the glow on her eyes. What I recommend is adding the bloom in the compositor, but that's just my opinion. Great work! ( Also are you still making that ps1 fight scene, you said 6 months ago that it was soon and I'm still just wondering. By the way it's all good if you don't want to do it, I'm just curious is all :)
That's a good shout, the black lines are only there because I rendered in Evee instead of cycles to save time 😊 as for the PS1 video, idea its been put on hold
this looks like some kinda video game 'chose your character' thingy
Agreed

Incredible modeling 😮
Can't take all the credit, the basemeshes did most of the heavy lifting 😅
Could you do Ben 10 classic too please. I would be great to see it from you
Is it possible to acquire the rig for personal show reel use?
why not use graph editor smooth animate characters instead step to step stage method?
Wow.
Bro cooked
Question as well as a challenge. Can you make an animation with pure skin modifier, character and environment?
An interesting idea 🧠

What do you think?
You're definitely onto something, taking a basic concept and making something incredible out of it would definitely work

awesome stuff! any chance you can convert this rig to work in maya?
Will there be a tutroial?

Is hp pavilion good for blender? I just stated yesterday
Blenders system requirements are quite minimal, and you can find more information here 👉 www.blender.org/download/requirements/

Thanks!
4:39 the text and the background makes the whole animation a bit amateur but other than that it looks great
Same font they use 🤷
