Fun fact, if you look closely during the part where you electrocute Monty, you can actually see the shadows of your arms-but only your arms, no body lol
Gregory abused time-travel in the main game so much that he literally created two copies of the world. Realising that now he holds immeasurable power, desides to kill the person that was trying to save him, just to prove his omnipotence and have fun.
And you wanna know why did the world "duplicate", instead of becoming completely destroyed? Because of Mapbot's doing. He... he? Does Mapbot have a gender/sex? Ever since Mapbot is self-aware? Anyway, Mapbot minimised the damage done to the Megapizzaplex to simple duplication, which can be done with anyone in the main game, if you recall. Gregory escaped from the loop, and went mad with power, when Mapbot, or now, Maskbot, introducing the V.A.N.N.I. "augmented reality" system to actually travel between the two worlds, still reminiscing about "its" previous pawn, now actually dead in the fire, for reasons, maybe Gregory became powerful enough to release her, strengthened the control over the Pizzaplex, erasing time as a concept, greatly reducing glitches, making taller and better invisible walls, etc. All to make sure that Cassandra won't even have the thought that she's in a loop. You may ask, "why won't she be released like Vanessa?" One - Maskbot has more control, via less playable area at least, and no major glitches like in the main game, that allowed for Gregory to grasp the concept of time-travel and open his eyes in the first place. Two - Gregory, while still being powerful enough to time - travel, is without his trusty companion. Realising that he does not need anyone, he simply left freddy behind, while still having all the power to resurrect him, like the other animatronics. Do you remember how absolutely BUSTED Freddy was? A get-out-of-jail free card in any situation, easy deload (in the earlier iterations) and so much more. Freddy, through direct contact with the boy, started obtaining power. But, either because Gregory feared about creating a new TVA Moonrise, or simply not giving enough f"cks, left Freddy behind. The first thing he did after his "ascension", is to take out his anger. But, while Mapbot is unreachable, Monty was not. That's why the gator is a shade of himself. Remember how even vanilla reachable Alpha - Monty was almost impossible to run away from, the only way to lose him being relying on random, for he jumped. Not even mentioning Giga Monty, we all know what he's capable of. F*cker doesn't need time-travel, teleportations (reoccurring theme in the games, Pegtrap also does that) to get your "sorry I alerted the guards" ass AND can't be stopped by Freddy. He was a real problem, and Gregory tortured him, making him so weak that he can't even jump out from the knee-deep water.
You know what I wish the Mimic did during the final chase sequence, I wish it used Gregory's voice to try and confuse you on which way to go now that would have been cool.
Since real Gregory is now contacting you through the radio, you could use radio effects to differentiate between the Grimic and Gregory. Real Gregory would have radio static, while the mimic would either sound too perfect or have a different kind of mechanical error sound to it.
@@cosmixstar most people would go for multiple endings anyway so as long as both voices lead to an ending I don't think it would matter to much. Maybe after you die/get an ending the subtitles will specify which is which.
I'm pretty sure that Pegtrap is just a guard program. He is manifestation of MXRS machine that enforces the lockdown on the monster. By turning it off, it sucked Pegtrap back in.
It is a joke. Like Vanny. Pegtrap only works in the AR world. So at best the Pegtrap is a guard in the network. But the handy whatever was able to stop the guard for a short while.... It is a badly made excuse. A joke. Just like Vanny was to much running around with a knife in SB. In a game about child murder. Death. Haunted death kids stuck in furry suits for decades. And a Afton that ALWAYS COME. Pegtrap is not even a threat in the game. Let alone if your without a mask on. And the real threats in the Pizza place teleport out of existence and can barely keep track of you. Just have big kill boxes.
@@TheDiner50 eh, well two parts are hard to get out of. one is that part at the roxy raceway/salon whatever, when you can't remove your mask and have to find four anomalies, and if you want to 100% the game you have to deal with two floorbots and a collectible. so thats a lot of time. and another part which isn't as difficult is before you meet fred in fazerblast, and you cant take your mask off either
@@thatoneguyiii1003 it’s pretty evident that the team kept getting pushed and stopped and told to dumb things down and “kiddify” the game so to speak. Having to waste time constantly to change everything makes for a bad project. It wasn’t everyone in their teams fault, just some of the executives making decisions
@@chaoticzer0688 I do think they got a little carried away in development promising cool things before finding out if they'd be able to implement them (which is why the expectations got so high) but it's not a smooth transition for this kind of team who haven't worked on this kind of game before to suddenly be able to make a bulletproof free roam sandbox So, like, a little blame on them but not very much. More blame on those who threw tantrums about delays that made steel wool feel like they had no choice but to put the base game out half baked (unless they had to launch then for tie in lore reasons with the books, but my gripe still stands either way)
For part 2 it'd be great to see a closer look at Cassie's full model that appears when you're looking through security cameras, as well as seeing the rooms with the doors that open when you go on the hidden cameras, given that they're a completely different part of the map.
I've seen one other person mention it but I would like to second looking at the full Cassie model that shows up on the cameras for the next video. Also, the 'Brazil' ending name is almost definitely referencing the 1985 movie Brazil, where a man escapes the unpleasant real world by withdrawing into a recurring daydream. Similarly the Ruin ending has Cassie 'escaping' the mimic by retreating into a digital fantasy (possibly created by Helpi) where everyone is safe and happy.
Honestly I thought that ending was the implant frying her brain and the weirdness was the ai trying to give her a "everything is good and fine" before she dies
OMG, like, I sooo noticed it too, hun! I wanna, like, totally second that idea of checking out the full Cassie model on those cameras for the next video. Gotta see what's up with that! And can we talk about the 'Brazil' ending? Total throwback to that 1985 movie! Like, this dude escapes his real-world drama by, like, diving into a daydream over and over. And guess what? Cassie's doing something similar in that Ruin ending! She's, like, escaping that mimic drama by immersing herself in some digital fantasy, probs cooked up by Helpi. It's, like, all safe and happy in there! So trippy, right? Love it! 💁♀
the server room where helpi tells you that "its better you dont see" and prevents you taking the mask off, i need to know if there is a real world version of it.
Honestly, if the game prevents you from removing the mask, I'd bet there either isn't a real world version of the room, or that it's very plain and wouldn't have that which is implied to be there via the dialogue. No reason to waste the effort of developing something not meant to be seen, right? Though sometimes devs will make the thing that doesn't get seen in the final game for various reasons, so it would probably be worth a look anyway.
You can see the real world version with a glitch by walking backwards as soon as you're able to take off the mask. It's the exact same layout, made out of black boxes. The server machines themselves are fully textured and modeled tho
The animations in this game are SO GOOD, like it would be so cool to see them without lighting, so that you could, well, actually see them. (Like the animation of the Mimic standing up, and the one of them breaking in through the vent)
I find it weird that there isn't anything else other than what we've found already, 'cause it feels like there should've been more stuff at some point. You can return Chica's voice box but nothing changes after you do so. There is no Monty's claws, Roxy's eyes or Freddy's head so you can't fix 'em either even though there are parts of the game that kinda imply you could do so if the parts existed (When Monty is stuck in the gate early in the game and Roxy stuck under the forklift near the end). While I like RUIN I can't help but feel there is stuff missing.
its montys legs. they found his legs in one of the mask teleport areas. theya re just there. but you cant quite get to them. I really think they are just hiding stuff. no way they have the dlc be this well thought out and with this few bugs. and then they just put a third of a secret ending in there and are like whoops lol. better remove or not finish everything else guys but also just keep a fourth entry there with "none" not like. "blank" or something that indicates a placeholder just "none". This feels like high tier trollin to me.
@@nexus3756idk seems a lot more likely they wanted to have a fourth ending where you fix everyone but they didn't have the time and/or money so they just focused on polishing what they had as much as they could instead. Still weird to leave the chica stuff in though. It doesn't even come across like a cliffhanger or like they're teasing something, it's just kinda there and then nothing happens because of it. Feels a lot more like it was left unfinished rather than being an intentional teaser
I really want to know which ending is considered the "Cannon" ending and what happens to Cassie afterwards. The DLC brought up more questions then answers with Gregory potentially killing Cassie.
I think the 'bad' ending where the elevator falls is canon, because it's the only one which has a cliffhanger. It wouldn't make any sense to include that and not build on it.
@dnighthawk204241 I mean they kinda left us on a cliffhanger in Sercurity Breach on the burntrap ending but it most likely isn't cannon so there's a possibility that the Elevator ending isn't cannon even if it left us on a cliffhanger.
Pegtrap is actually the good guy, he’s trying to stop you from releasing the mimic. You turn off all the security nodes and then lock him in the mxes machine Also The Blob is why the earthquake happened. “Gregory” said something burrowed out and broke everything. So since we see the Blob in the main Pizzaplex it was probably him. Yet once again he doesnt do anything at all 💀
I would say that Pegtrap is actually neutral rather than good. It's an anti-virus/security program doing what it was programmed to do without any regard for morals or ethics. This is evident in how it summons other animatronics to off Cassie, which is an action most would consider moral reprehensible. It may not be able to harm Cassie by itself, but it will take any opportunity it has to fulfill its protocol.
So two things I wanna see in Part 2. 1, what does Cassie's full model look like? We see her arms a lot, but we don't see the full model used for when she's looking at the cameras. It'd both be cool to see and good reference for artists. 2, what happens to Eclipse after you leave the Daycare? Do they just disappear, or do they go back out of bounds?
small problem with the artist part- the cassie model and steel wool art (there is some AR art of cassie you can find floating around much like the pictures of Roxy) are inconsistent. this appears to be b/c her design may have been altered between teaser and production. specifically, her skin is darker (I think, the pictures of the model may have had bad lighting), she wears makeup in the pictures, and her hair is a different texture.
It was cut out of the video, but after Eclipse closes the door the entire daycare area disappears. You can check the VOD of this stream if you want to see for yourself
@@eve6262_ I think the makeup is because it's implied she went to Roxy's Salon (like real world Glam Shots and Disney's bibbity bobbity boo boutique) and maybe hair could be different cuz she got cut styled or colored.
Elevator crashes, screen cuts to black. *Cassie:* Roxy, where are we? *Roxy:* I don't mean to alarm you Cassie, but I think we're in Brazil... *Cassie:* (Crying)
If you haven't already, in the room that had BB's Balloon world minigame, the place is very very different when swithching in and out of mask and the AR world has an interesting ceiling. Could look cool out of bounds
This DLC imo completely redeems steel wool, you can tell that they learned from security breach with how fewer bugs there were and how much better the story was.
It still has issues, like some people died when going down the purple slide even though they really shouldn't. Plus the animatronic AI is still very buggy outside of scripted segments. Also the endings were extremely short. It's still way better than Security Breach but I wouldn't say Steel Wool is completely redeemed, just partly redeemed.
to answer the question around 15:45, based on the information we've been given the mimic likely is burntrap. I know a lot of people are saying it's too tall or the proportions aren't right, but in the books (which is where the mimic comes from and every ability in the books so far has been displayed by it in ruin aside from this one) it is capable of stretching or contracting its body to fit any animatronic suit perfectly, meaning it can change its proportions to meld itself with afton's corpse
Burntrap actually being the mimic would actually make sense in the context of the glitchtrap virus seemingly being remote controlled by burntrap during that fight
Idk, too man open ended questions in my book. Pegtrap most likely is afton’s actual person now. Mimic was clearly behind (literally) where burntrap was. Most likely it didn’t use part of his body. But why is the blob keeping mimic trapped?
Nah, mimic is definitely the endo they teased during the first Freddy section of Security Breach. It was crawling down the wall in the stairwell when they were going underground. Also the sticky note room MatPat thought was evidence of robo-Gregory was pretty clearly supposed to tease the mimic
One thing I still get confused about with the setting is, why was the place abandoned after the earthquake? There clearly was some sort of cleanup effort with the "We'll be back soon" sign in the front lobby and the wrecking ball in Roxy's Raceway. But then this hypothetical cleanup effort just stopped? Was it the Mimic? Also, what's with the giant Freddy head? I've been confused about that since Security Breach came out. And who builds a giant, undoubtedly multi-billion-dollar complex over a cave network? Seems like a recipe for sinkhole disaster.
I agree, plus there are also a lot of areas that really just need a cleanup and repaint. I don’t want to see the pizzaplex permanently abandoned, its the greatest fnaf setting yet imo. I’d like to see them continue and in the next game or DLC the pizzaplex is operational again. I also wonder what’s happened to places like the main atrium. And rockstar row, and the east arcade (I think that’s what it’s called) and also what happened to DJ Music Man.
It’s less cohesive than Scott’s storyline. I’m gonna let matpat figure this stuff out. :/ Don’t get me wrong, it’s a great game but way to many what ifs. Like the ending leaves you hungry for more. Like how did Roxy wake up so fast? How did Freddy/Gregory have a map to lead her out? I don’t think either were Gregory talking to her.
My thoughts: 1. The business part of SB is never going to make sense, it’s definitely unhinged. 2. The Candy Cadet’s story mentioned a “mother” who locked a monster in her basement. It’s not much to go on, but there’s probably a woman running the Fazbear business in the Steel Wool games that made all these decisions. She abandoned the Pizzaplex to contain the mimic, based on the story
@@sideways5153 It's always been amusing how the animatronics are treated as existential threats rather than just robots that really realistically should be able to just be dealt with by the police. Like consider just... calling the cops and trapping what seems to be just a rogue robot? Unlike some of the older animatronics which were possessed and possessed actual magic (puppet, golden freddy) we have no real indication any of the animatronics are anything more than just robots. But hey, that's horror franchises for you.
@@yfrit_gg I mean the mimic..maybe possed some threat with it being able to mimic people's voices?? like maybe that's a threat because it could be intellgent, we don't really know aside from the walkie talkie buissness. also the fact it seems to be sentiant while most of the population (even including the pizzaplex staff ) seem to be unaware of the animatronics having some form of self awareness
This video type feels so nostalgic. I got introduced to Spiff through the Poppy Playtime Out of Bounds video and stayed because of the SB Out of Bounds videos. Just like the good ol' times.
There's actually a really easy out of bounds I actually got stuck at because I thought it was the intended way lmao. At the mega endo where you go down his mouth, if you parkour on the boxes to get up to the screen before putting on the AR mask, you can walk right through the screen after and then take the mask off again and explore a little bit. Cool to be able to look down at the other map before I even knew what it was lol. There's a big hole where the stairs to the endos used to be (deleted everything to make space obv) and I thought it was just a section that wasn't loading in. Going through the screen made so much sense to me since you literally go through one earlier in the DLC, plus you can walk right through the arm on the endo, which I did, so I thought he was a little hologram pop out thing meant to scare you but give the hint of "go behind the screen"
The reason why you might see animatronic models or just models out of bounds is probably because of caching. Sometimes (at least depending on the engine) creating the model on run time when needed is slower than creating it from the start, storing it somewhere, and just changing its position when needed. This is usually only needed if an object will constantly appear multiple times like a jumpscare model or the laser beam from Fazerblast. These are to be fair very minor optimizations, so it's usually reserved for things that will appear multiple times. I may be wrong to be fair!
I know someone else has mentioned seeing Cassie's model through the cameras in more detail, but I think it would also be cool to see if the camera images are actually separate animations/videos hidden elsewhere, since Cassie normally doesn't have a full model, or if her full model just instantly appears as soon as you go into a camera system.
I'm so glad steelwool actually put in the effort to make a great game. Little glitches and NO VOID. That is until you find a way to break it Spigg. At this point they might as well ban you until bugfixes come into place lmao.
I mean, the glitch where you don't teleport and end up in the AR world maskless, then fall out of the map when equipping it, is probably the equivalent to Freddy deloading. Basic movement combined with a core gameplay mechanic to completely break things, just a little less useful due to how linear the map is this time around.
They did have effort for the base game but it seemed it was 1. Too ambitious to be completed properly in time, and 2. They didn't have enough time. And it was likely a management problem, as the developers and artists and such clearly put in a lot of care for the game. It just didn't turn out the way they planned due to the ambitious idea mixed with the lack of time. The game was delayed twice and my guess is that management didn't want to delay it again. Scott was more hands off but had been giving in put so I don't think he saw it coming either. But he seems to even hate or dislike security breach himself. It didnt succeed at what it was suppose to do
@@ultmateragnarok8376theoretically it’s an easy fix. Just space the maps such that you can switch between them by flipping a bit. Might require a bit of engine hacking if what they used isn’t friendly to fixed point math, but on paper flipping a bit is the obvious answer.
I mean... not having game breaking bugs at every turn should be the baseline a video game. They did learn from their previous game (altho that was buggy due to time constraints), but that alone doesn't make it a great game, and their fixes are pretty lazy (invisible wall at every possible turn to keep people in isn't exactly realistic or sign of a good game). It does seem kind of fun, but what I'd call a great game is God of War: Ragnarök. It's a good one though from what I can see.
More than likely, if you bypass the barrier it would just load the endo for the cutscene, just like how it loaded the costume for the scooper even when it wasn't chasing.
I watched Spiff’s stream of it but I’ve also been watching DanTDM play it and honestly the difference between Dan’s Security Breach playthrough and Ruin playthrough are like night and day haha. He played SB super casually and had sooo many glitches. And he’s playing Ruin and you can tell he’s thoroughly enjoying himself without all the glitches. Also the sound design and actual building of tension in some parts of the DLC are a huuuge improvement from SB. I still wouldn’t say it’s super scary or anything, but they’ve definitely learned some of the necessary components of making a horror game lol. I also think the endings are a bit lacking but the “main” ending with Gregory you’d probably get on a regular playthrough is pretty good and interesting.
I've really enjoyed ManlyBadassHero's play (though he hasn't got every secret yet). Two reasons I watch him are that there's no overacting or screaming, and he's good at games.
The DLC itself was very well made, although I feel it lost part of the horror aspect. Other than the two chase sequences, it's pretty much entirely story. Pegtrap and his summoning of animatronics doesn't really hinder you enough to be a problem, since you can just say no. The anti-mask pillars are a band-aid to the issue but don't really solve it. If Spiff ever decides to use mods (if/when they come out) then I could definitely imagine one with a faster Peg adding more tension, or even just normally roaming animatronics. Other than that, if that was released first (if SB was Ruin instead) then it would've been pretty high on the tier-list for quality.
@@taxibutler1858 Yeah, while I watched Spiff play it I was thinking “Wow, nothing has really been particularly threatening” and I think that’s still something that carried over from base SB. And I think the novelty of Pegtrap (lol) wears off after the first few times. I think the way the sound effect plays and he often appears in a place where you can’t immediately see him is effective at first and well done but once you get used to it, he’s kind of easy to deal with. I think the linearity of the DLC helped a lot with the quality, but having to make the animatronics have massive hit boxes just to be an actual threat is an interesting game design choice. I guess it’s so you know you’re not supposed to just walk past them so you do the audio lure thing with the cameras but those sections are the only time it feels like the animatronics pose any actual threat, and they’re actually not a threat at all, really.
I think that the reason the mini music men don't teleport back over to the real world sometimes is because there are objects occupying the space on the floor they would be standing in if they were there. They could probably solve this by just making their wondering paths not collide with any objects in either map
I would be really curious to see what Monty has going on in the under water section, and also maybe get a closer look at the cut outs in the Monty ride!
I'd be willing to bet very good money that the Brazil Ending is named after Terry Gilliam's 1985 movie "Brazil", which is a dystopian film that ends in an escape to a happy ending that turns out to be all in the mind of the still-trapped protagonist.
I think something really cool to look at would be the cutscene of the first time moon shows up in daycare before the whole section starts when you shine the light in his eyes
Check out the Doom map called My House that came out earlier in the year for an extreme example of silent teleporting between maps. Also there is a lot of games that use silent teleporting to simulate non-Euclidean geometry such as Antichamber, Lingo, Marquee, Manifold Garden and (presumably) that Portal mod that adds time portals
Just going to point out rq: the "pegtrap" is the personification of the MXES security system, trying to stop you from releasing the mimic, and it doesnt care if it requires you to die to stop you. He tries to get out at you in the end, but you disable the MXES system and he gets forces back inside and disabled. Pegtrap is still the official, and funny, name but it doesnt mean hes glitchtrap or springtrap.
In Bonnie's room, there's that area blocked off by a railing and in there, is a doorway (I think?) with a blue light coming from under it that you can never get to, I'd like to see what was on the other side of that
I found out that there is a movie named Brazil. The "Brazil ending" and the Brazil (1985) ending have some parallels, so that's probably what it was named after, not the nation.
13:07 when i got to the ending (without teleports or anything, just by playing the game) i WAS actually able to use the flashlight there! it turns off automatically for the cutscene, but afterwards in the chase i could use it too. no idea if that's normal (and if it is, why we had that whole moment of the flashlight breaking when entering the skyrim caves lol)
I'm not sure if this'll be seen, but I'm really curious as to what's out of bounds in the AR mode of the Sun and Moon hidden room, especially with the whole ceiling being the glitched out Balloon World.
21:18 yeah, this is what happened to me, I lured them away, and went to the mask land when I was at the spot where they were before, I got instantly jumpscared by the one waiting on the other side.
There was a wrecking ball coming through the ceiling in one of the chapters. I forget which and where, but I'd like to see the the whole made explored.
How many of those random moments where the game plays a scary sound ACTUALLY have something happen. Cause I swear sometimes it feels like I just missed something but it's so hard to tell.
@@srKo1 So you're saying that the entire thing is 2d while the one in the base game's files was 3d? I shoulda been a bit more specific in my comment, cause I'd already played all 20 waves in the Ruin version, I was just wondering if it was just a trick to look 2d like it was in the files.
Steel Wool did a genuinely impressive job on this from what I've seen, I think I'll actually redownload SB and give this a go. I can't get over how much destroyed Monty looks like a Kremling from Donkey Kong, though.
I really want to know if there are duplicate animatronics performing the same movements in lockstep on both maps, or if it teleports the animatronics back and forth with cassie.
It’s really awesome how the made the game with tons of cut content and glitches and put some of it in a DLC and made the DLC near bug free (of course there are going to be some bugs)
The explanation for what's going on with the mini music men makes a lot of sense and explains a lot. I did get stuck on that section a little bit because of that and was so confused lol.
I havent seen anybody talk about this easter egg, but similar to the one staffbot dialogue being replaced with Gregory calling for Cassie, I found one in the ending DA SPOILERS: In the credits after being dropped in the elevator, Roxy randomly calls out for Cassie. I really wanna make sure I'm not the only person who got that
I wonder in the music man thing is because there’s so many of them that a few of them slipped through without being programmed properly leading to some of them stuck in purple land.
(Idk if it's shown in the video because I haven't watched it yet but) will you look at some of the wip maps left in the files? Some of them have dev text like the sinkhole having foreshadowing for the circus/balloon characters and confirming the blobs name to actually be tangle
Not sure if you'd been told already, but it has to 100% be Princess Quest as the canon ending. The comic strip "Real" collectables all have descriptions that say gregory drew/made them up. There are comic strips from each comic ending plus an Afton ending comic, minus Princess Quest's comic strips, there is no collectible for any panels of that ending cutscene. I interpreted that as the game slowly deconfirming possible candidates for the canon ending, and managed to have my playthrough perfectly end up with just Afton or Princess Quest before finding the Burntrap comic strip, which was a really cool revelation to me
not sure if this is something worth looking into but the crawlspace entrance to the daycare area has a blocked spiral stairway with that glitchy affect that tells u to put the mask on, but that area doesn’t allow you to wear the mask. i was curious about that maybe there’s something there?
I ALWAYS had trouble with music mans lingering when they shouldn’t! I’d call them over, and several would go, but there’d always be two or three stragglers. After dying once it seemed to fix itself, though. THANK YOU for that explanation, it makes so much more sense now! I also had a problem with the ones on the lanes on my first encounter. When I approached the cameras, they’d come and kill me for being too close, and I couldn’t call them for the same reason. Took me a bit to realize I had to call and THEN back out super quickly so they wouldn’t get me.
I think you are on the nose with the music men. I had so many problems being hunted down by ONE little fucker following me that just didn't seem to act properly. But its always neat seeing this perspectives
id like to see an investigation into the AR models when cassie puts the mask on. the animatronics change their looks, and the endo skeletons act differently for some reason, that would be cool to see. also a fun adventure would be mapping Cassie's route in this game in the original security breach to see what her adventure actually looks like compared to the main game
18:30 reminds me of when poppy playtime does the huggy chase. There's a bit at some point where a door closes in front of you, and huggy ominously stalks towards you (the door always opening just in time for you to escape) I could be wrong about this, but I'm pretty sure that bit's a clever load screen? Like, it's giving the game a second to shuffle the maps a bit, but huggy can't run at you at his normal speed without killing you, so he HAS to slow down or else they can't put the door there.
Really glad for Steel Wools. They did a really good job on this game. They learned a lot from before and I can say that they regained my trust. Really excited for help wanted 2.
I wanna see the server room where Helpi tells you that "It's better you dont see" and stops you taking the mask off, I wanna know if there's a real world version of the room
I actually didn't have any major glitches while playing ruin. All I had were a few buggy textures but otherwise it was smooth. Oh and I played it all on a Steamdeck so I'm surprised
To explain your question, “pegtrap” is the computer program used to keep people from letting the mimic out, hence why he just sends animatronics to deal with you or will kick you out of the AR system. Edit: we’ll more lock you into the AR system.
Bro as soon as the video started, so many good memories of little nightmares flashed by with the music. Prison toys is my favourite song from the game. Thank you spiff for another cool video! And this little moment!
What I’m wondering is, how will the double world affect the SB lore? Perhaps it’s what map (I guess mask) bot uses to create the time loop, and place Gregory/Cassie in the location they need to be?
The double world isn't actually a thing it's just the AR but made to not need to make a ton of complex things happen in the game because swapping out objects and stuff would most likely lead to a ton of bugs that Steel Wool just wouldn't be able to fix easily and the bot head time manipulation is just to fix the time because of bugs and softlocks that were caused due to the openess and objects changing the time rather than an actual clock
can't believe you used little nightmares 2 music. with the third/fourth installment in the series coming out soon I actually almost cried, its an amazing game franchise and to people who haven't checked it out who are reading this: go play if you like horror and/or puzzle solving its one of the best
20:18 ohhhh, i thought it was an intencional "some music man only exist in the AR world and you can only interact with them if you put the mask" but what you say also makes sense
What about trying to majorly sequence break? Normally this DLC looks pretty story driven and pretty straightforward. I know the worst thing that could happen is the game crashing. Another thing you could try to look at is if there's anything interesting out of bounds of certain skyboxes that cover entire levels or anything specifically placed that you only see once in the game. This DLC is terrifying for the same reason as the old games. All the ambience, dark environment as well as all the GOD DAMN fake jumpscares just to mess with you all the time. The best part about this DLC is that you "think" you know whats gonna happen. For example, the chica at the start. You constantly think the chica will start chasing you, but she never does!
A theory I’ve heard is that these are the replacement suits mentioned in FNAF 3’s tapes. It’s specifically mentioned to avoid questions regarding the “relevance” and “appropriateness” of the replacement suits and that they were “bought on short notice”, so I think it’s possible that they’re random mascot costumes purchased by the restaurants to be used until something else could be put in place. I’ve also heard people speculate about the Glitchtrap suit, but the suits being unrelated to Freddy Fazbear’s/Fredbear’s, likely purchased cheaply from wherever they could find them, would make sense with what we’re given
I just noticed something similar between poppy chapter 2 and SB ruin. You solve puzzles while being attacked by three main enemies plus the boss of them Each main enemy has a unique puzzle In-between the main puzzles there are mini puzzles with little to no threat You can collect collectibles that do nothing in the game There is a chase scene near the end of the game The thing that's been attacking you for the whole thing is pulled into a machine near the end The thing that's helping you the whole game turns out to be evil

@@SirPanikalot778 Because in the end, "Gregory" and Cassie are both the same. Just disembodied arms.
Your orb bot profile picture makes this so much better because now I'm imagining this comment in his voice
Gregory abused time-travel in the main game so much that he literally created two copies of the world. Realising that now he holds immeasurable power, desides to kill the person that was trying to save him, just to prove his omnipotence and have fun.
Terrifying
I'd buy that
And you wanna know why did the world "duplicate", instead of becoming completely destroyed?

I'm pretty sure that Pegtrap is just a guard program. He is manifestation of MXRS machine that enforces the lockdown on the monster. By turning it off, it sucked Pegtrap back in.

So, like, a little blame on them but not very much.

The animations in this game are SO GOOD, like it would be so cool to see them without lighting, so that you could, well, actually see them. (Like the animation of the Mimic standing up, and the one of them breaking in through the vent)
Why do you type like that
I find it weird that there isn't anything else other than what we've found already, 'cause it feels like there should've been more stuff at some point.
I'm preety sure there's going to be a 2nd part to the dlc juding by both of the ending being a cliffhanger. Chica's beak probably comes up then

There probably was more cut content but they removed it
Roxy being under the forklift is purely to deactivate her for the story

The DLC brought up more questions then answers with Gregory potentially killing Cassie.
Its probably Princess Quest ending as Freddy is gone, Gregory is gone, and you have Vanny's mask in Ruin.
I dont think gregory killed Cassie considering that there would be no possible way to cut the elevator wire from outside of the pizzaplex
@@LXIShorts most of the normal sb endings left off on cliffhangers except for vip , disassembled vanny , and loading dock

Also The Blob is why the earthquake happened.

If I'm correct, the daycare just de loads
small problem with the artist part- the cassie model and steel wool art (there is some AR art of cassie you can find floating around much like the pictures of Roxy) are inconsistent. this appears to be b/c her design may have been altered between teaser and production. specifically, her skin is darker (I think, the pictures of the model may have had bad lighting), she wears makeup in the pictures, and her hair is a different texture.

to answer the question around 15:45, based on the information we've been given the mimic likely is burntrap.
I didn't know the mimic was from the books; thats good to know
Burntrap actually being the mimic would actually make sense in the context of the glitchtrap virus seemingly being remote controlled by burntrap during that fight
@@hihilt2589 no it doesn't
Don’t get me wrong, it’s a great game but way to many what ifs. Like the ending leaves you hungry for more.
Like how did Roxy wake up so fast? How did Freddy/Gregory have a map to lead her out? I don’t think either were Gregory talking to her.
My thoughts:
Always interesting to have a peak behind the curtain with these games
The reason why you might see animatronic models or just models out of bounds is probably because of caching. Sometimes (at least depending on the engine) creating the model on run time when needed is slower than creating it from the start, storing it somewhere, and just changing its position when needed. This is usually only needed if an object will constantly appear multiple times like a jumpscare model or the laser beam from Fazerblast. These are to be fair very minor optimizations, so it's usually reserved for things that will appear multiple times. I may be wrong to be fair!
Even if its only once, the caching is very much needed for the ones stuck playing on a HDD (and ps4 but they suck lol)
Spiff casually taking gassie on an interdimentional trip to save her from her unescapable fate of being caught by pegtrap is comedy gold
I'm so glad steelwool actually put in the effort to make a great game. Little glitches and NO VOID. That is until you find a way to break it Spigg. At this point they might as well ban you until bugfixes come into place lmao.
Tbh i unironically think steelwool should hire him as a game tester, he could find every single bug in a matter of minutes
I wonder what happens when you have the costume mimic chasing you and instead of doing the scoop ending , you do the elevator ending
apparently its blocked off and you cant go through that door
Not just a horror game they've learned the basics of actually making a functioning game which is certainly something positive
This dlc is so interesting with its mechanics and lore.
The blob goes away only if you look at it. If you walk by looking the other way, it'll just stay there until you see it.
I think something really cool to look at would be the cutscene of the first time moon shows up in daycare before the whole section starts when you shine the light in his eyes
25:08 “his feet dont say that in security breach” This would imply spiff looked at freddies feet enough to see what they said
It's hard not to glance at those magnificent grippers while you're doing repairs
The mask map and normal map transfer is still so cool to me.
I discovered that you can do the same in Minecraft and I am currently making a map that uses it
We gotta see the baby plush room, if only to traumatize spiff

In Bonnie's room, there's that area blocked off by a railing and in there, is a doorway (I think?) with a blue light coming from under it that you can never get to, I'd like to see what was on the other side of that
I found out that there is a movie named Brazil. The "Brazil ending" and the Brazil (1985) ending have some parallels, so that's probably what it was named after, not the nation.
This is what I call a full circle, the first spiff vid I watched was fnaf sb out of bounds
Bug
I'm not sure if this'll be seen, but I'm really curious as to what's out of bounds in the AR mode of the Sun and Moon hidden room, especially with the whole ceiling being the glitched out Balloon World.
2:10 "Sun Bottom, Moon Top" I don't ever wa t to hear that again, okay?
Love that it’s called Brazil ending in the files. Confirms what it’s meant to convey.
Ruin is such a good dlc
Yeah
Agreed
Agreed
Disagree
@@pirilon78Why tho. I Like it 'cuz it doesn't have that many glitches
@@srKo1 Nvm, TetraBitGaming went over it already.
I appreciate the attention to detail in this new installment !!!
Steel Wool did a genuinely impressive job on this from what I've seen, I think I'll actually redownload SB and give this a go. I can't get over how much destroyed Monty looks like a Kremling from Donkey Kong, though.
It’s so funny to me that having to see Freddy’s giant fucking feet every repair section was a set up to a plot point(?) in the dlc
I’m really curious about the Monty Shrine room that you can find in Monty Golf through the matrix door. I wanted to explore that more.
I havent seen anybody talk about this easter egg, but similar to the one staffbot dialogue being replaced with Gregory calling for Cassie, I found one in the ending
DA SPOILERS:
In the credits after being dropped in the elevator, Roxy randomly calls out for Cassie.
8:26
“Cassie stop crying, I need thumbnails”
A true UA-camr moment
Spiff and FnaF go well together like peanut butter and jelly
I ALWAYS had trouble with music mans lingering when they shouldn’t! I’d call them over, and several would go, but there’d always be two or three stragglers. After dying once it seemed to fix itself, though. THANK YOU for that explanation, it makes so much more sense now!
I also had a problem with the ones on the lanes on my first encounter. When I approached the cameras, they’d come and kill me for being too close, and I couldn’t call them for the same reason. Took me a bit to realize I had to call and THEN back out super quickly so they wouldn’t get me.
I love how you use Little Nightmares music in your videos:D
I think you are on the nose with the music men. I had so many problems being hunted down by ONE little fucker following me that just didn't seem to act properly. But its always neat seeing this perspectives
ruin was SO good, super pleased with it. steel wool did great
id like to see an investigation into the AR models when cassie puts the mask on. the animatronics change their looks, and the endo skeletons act differently for some reason, that would be cool to see. also a fun adventure would be mapping Cassie's route in this game in the original security breach to see what her adventure actually looks like compared to the main game
2 spiff videos within 24 hours goes crazy thx for the fire content
18:30 reminds me of when poppy playtime does the huggy chase. There's a bit at some point where a door closes in front of you, and huggy ominously stalks towards you (the door always opening just in time for you to escape)
I could be wrong about this, but I'm pretty sure that bit's a clever load screen? Like, it's giving the game a second to shuffle the maps a bit, but huggy can't run at you at his normal speed without killing you, so he HAS to slow down or else they can't put the door there.
Really glad for Steel Wools. They did a really good job on this game. They learned a lot from before and I can say that they regained my trust. Really excited for help wanted 2.
I wanna see the server room where Helpi tells you that "It's better you dont see" and stops you taking the mask off, I wanna know if there's a real world version of the room
I just wonder how cassie looks with the vanny mask you can only see her a little bit on cams
Literally my first thought when Ruin came out was 'Okay, when is Spiff gonna release an out of bounds video'
the mimic reveal looks scarier being able to actually see the figure
hope you get well soon spiff
I actually didn't have any major glitches while playing ruin. All I had were a few buggy textures but otherwise it was smooth. Oh and I played it all on a Steamdeck so I'm surprised
To explain your question, “pegtrap” is the computer program used to keep people from letting the mimic out, hence why he just sends animatronics to deal with you or will kick you out of the AR system. Edit: we’ll more lock you into the AR system.
I hope that in the next video, you just generally look at inaccessible areas, like the Daycare Entrance, or most of Roxy Raceway, for example.
Bro as soon as the video started, so many good memories of little nightmares flashed by with the music. Prison toys is my favourite song from the game. Thank you spiff for another cool video! And this little moment!
I find it interesting that the mimic has the same jaw teeth as eclipse does
22:04 I wanna see if the Micheal room is still there down the blocked-off hallway by there.
The two worlds aren't canon
Thats what map bot wants you to believe
can't believe you used little nightmares 2 music. with the third/fourth installment in the series coming out soon I actually almost cried, its an amazing game franchise and to people who haven't checked it out who are reading this: go play if you like horror and/or puzzle solving its one of the best
For part two, can we see the cutscene when Roxy hears Cassie and apologizes…I’ve always thought that interaction looked a little janky.
Also I genuinely wonder if you can break the game with the mask at all, similar to jumping into freddy and the world deloading, but like you do it on command instead of it being random and consistent upon breaking
there are square boxes around each chapter that prevent a different chapter from loading. We would need a way around that
@@NottSaying its security breach, I'm sure there's a way to dive into the code and remove the boxes in someway, whether it be manually as we progress or all at once.
@@bigbadgammagnome i know, thats what I meant. Just to go through the game without those boxes and see if everything still works okay
Its monumental ruin is actually pretty optimized and doesn’t lag much
A dream
The Elephant, Crow and Lion costumes got me real curious lore wise
it’s just mimic likes to put on different costumes like in the books
A theory I’ve heard is that these are the replacement suits mentioned in FNAF 3’s tapes. It’s specifically mentioned to avoid questions regarding the “relevance” and “appropriateness” of the replacement suits and that they were “bought on short notice”, so I think it’s possible that they’re random mascot costumes purchased by the restaurants to be used until something else could be put in place. I’ve also heard people speculate about the Glitchtrap suit, but the suits being unrelated to Freddy Fazbear’s/Fredbear’s, likely purchased cheaply from wherever they could find them, would make sense with what we’re given
Could you go through all the unused maps? Appearently there's near 100 so that'd be cool to see what all of them include!!
I just noticed something similar between poppy chapter 2 and SB ruin.
You solve puzzles while being attacked by three main enemies plus the boss of them
Each main enemy has a unique puzzle
In-between the main puzzles there are mini puzzles with little to no threat
You can collect collectibles that do nothing in the game
There is a chase scene near the end of the game
The thing that's been attacking you for the whole thing is pulled into a machine near the end
The thing that's helping you the whole game turns out to be evil
Hey Spiff, any chance you could get a better look at the hallway under the lanes at Bonnie Bowl? For the most part the appear to be cleaner than the rest of the Building and I was curious how the looked
the video popped right boys, I'm not the only one
Can you use freecam in the very beginning cutscene? I'd like to see if Cassie properly emotes when she calls out for Gregory after climbing through the wreckage hole.
a spinaround of all the animatronics for our artists/writers out there
