Been watching Rpod for several years. I am impressed by how they get better every year and keep the prices right.
They've finally gone to the vertical 2 burner cooktop instead of the big horizontal one, which in a small trailer with minimal counter space makes a huge difference.
I appreciate that he looks at us through the camera. Love the small booths and the alternatives to booths. These r-pods look great.
I have a 2016 RPod 178 (His name is Kermit the Pod!) I love it so much and have done so many places with it. My complaints, however, were the queen bed position (if two people are in it, someone is climbing over someone else to use the head in the middle of the night), the hot water heater location under the bed (it's a pain in the ass to winterize/dewinterize), and the wetbath (really can't have anything in there if you are going to be using the shower). I'd add the manual tongue jack too, just because I was too lazy to replace it with an electric one. So, have been hoping that Matt would showcase the newer RPODs for me to consider..and VOILA'! Here is that video! Which is my favorite? The last one! The RP198. I can't think of anything I DON'T like that Ben showed us. Thank you both. Love RPOD!
Love the name! My '21 171 is named 'Escape Pod 171' with a Starfleet logoed plaque stating such placed above the zoomy stripe up front, with small 'Galileo' shuttlecraft decals on each front side window and a 'Property of Starfleet' decal on the rear window.
@@DaveB4529 How do you like the 171?
@@optymystyq Just me @ 5' 10", 165# and a 50 # dog...love it!!!
@@optymystyq LOVE IT! It's just me (at 5'10", 165#) & my English Springer, so the small size isn't an issue. It tows great with a GMC Canyon, and is easy to back into a site by myself.
We love our 2024 Rpod 202! We took it to Grand Canyon and all over the southeast. Pulling it great with our F150.
I was absolutely one of those people who says you don't need a Dinette until last year when my girlfriend and I rented an RV and she made the point that her best memories of camping were sitting around the dinette playing board games as a kid. So manufacturers bar top for couples models but a dinette for a family model
Exactly. I don’t like the bar counters for that reason.
@@Tobynsocks I totally agree on that! Also, you are sitting next to the other person so conversation is weird (like you're at the Last Supper or something). Not to mention there's no room on that tiny bar to put the plates, drinks, condiments...Looks more like a food truck setup than a family or couples' eating area.
@@optymystyq I could deal with a bar top in a couple's model because it's not like you're eating buffet style but there really is nothing better than a u Dinette where you can also use it as a lounge or nap area. Glad to see companies going away from the two separate cheesy recliners however
The giant window on the RP-197 with bar is pretty slick. A lot of smart choices throughout. Great job Mr. Ben & team!
Don’t need the full review Matt. Here it is: Andrea would like those plain valances, Will would fit in the shower, plastic toilet wahmp, wahmp. Matt would like the solid steps, the slam latch doors and the Azdel. Wil and Andrea would like the pantries and the counter space. I don’t think Andrea likes round sinks. The only thing we really need is the sale price. 😄
R-Pod cutting board...food grade tested, food grade approved 😀👍 Maybe future feature (cutting boards) on Matt's RV Reviews/towables?...
First views of RPods. Really impressed.
Dig the 192 and the 197, especially that bar, which is top shelf!
Wow !! Love the RP197, you pulled that pantry open, Missy was like WOW !!
We like our 2022 Rpod 192. The Rpod online community is great and impacted our decision to go with the brand. I like some of the new features
The "Top Features" & "Towing Guide" label on the door is a great touch! Nice RVs
I purchased a '21 RPod 171 in July of 2021 and proceeded to upgrade the crap out of it: first thing to go after the 2 night shakedown trip was the mattress, replaced with a 4" memory foam + 1 1/2" eggcrate 'cool gel' topper. The China bomb tires replaced with Goodyears - glad to see them as standard now. Single to dual propane tanks. Group 31 AGM battery. EasyTouch HVAC controller, ditching the trash Dometic unit. iRV62 CD/DVD player and Kenwood 6 3/4" coax speakers (inside). Pahaque visor. Oxygenics shower head. Happy to see FR went back to the light-colored cabinetry as the dark stuff from the last 2 years was dismal. Disappointed that they went back to leaf springs, as my torsion axle is great. Not a fan of the gold wheels, either - prefer my machined/dark gray painted jobs. Thanks for the vid!
The floor plan at the 20:00 mark is FREAKING AWESOME!!!
AGREED!!!🙌👏👍
When my hubby retired in 2018, he went out and bought us a very fancy 42' 5th wheel. I love it but at times it is hard to find camp sites to accomodate the larger campers. When I retired, I bought a 2021 Rpod 202 that we could put anywhere and we also love it. Only had one small issue with the front window but you could not have asked for better customer service from the Forrest River Rpod division and our rep. In 3 weeks, they had the window replaced. We have never had another issue with it. We have a hard time deciding which unit we want to take on each trip. We do get lots of jokes about towing the Rpod with a F350 Dually. I love the new ones and especially those windows. It sure would be hard for me to let mine go though. A very happy Rpod customer! :)
If you can put a stationary bed in the smallest pod, why wouldn’t you put one in the larger pods? I would keep the Murphy bed down. I just can’t stand a Murphy bed. If I wasn’t afraid to tow and be separate from the cab, I would get the second one.
Currently own a 2022 Rpod 202 and we love it for the separated living and bedroom with the bath. I love the new upgrades to these models shown in this video and look forward to see the all new lineup for 2025...I know hubby is itching to upgrade to a newer one already even though ours is fine.
Love them! Especially the bar vs.dinette! Brilliant combined with Murphy bed!!
That first model was outstanding, and love the Moondust design. Love it! It would take me 8 years to pay off... but if the lottery pays off, even a wee bit, I'd do it!
Matt great job bro!! I’ve been wanting to get a real look and feel of the 197. This is definitely a winner!! 🏆
I like the unit where the stove top isn't smack up against the side wall of the refrigerator. As a leftie, it would make it really difficult to cook.
The big one with the private bedroom and recliners on a slide is nice, but a big longer. I definitely love the Adele on all the R-pods.
Seen a family of 6 brought a used RV making updates to thier home. Brought a new truck then later brought a SUV to use both traveling around the country.
197 is a winner! Big fan of the bar
Great video Matt...
Cool trailers
I'm glad to see a manufacture going after the 5000lb and under that's awesome I have an SUV max is 5000lb Awesome
Loving the eye candy and the RVs too. 😍
WOW That big one is awesome with the bar seating, it's tall enough, gas a good BR, and the Murphy bed gives you room to walk around.
The R-Pod 192 was one of my favorite. Unfortunately the dealer in Wilmington, NC didn't want to work with us and decided to go with Geo Pro.
Very nice! Thank you! Thank you! 👍🤘💛🧡💛
I love the one that has the kitchen bar area. Perfect! 👍
Hi Matt and Ben! Ben great job on showing us the R-Pods. I love the last one and the one with the bar at the window. Thank you for showing these R-Pod.
Super cool stuff Ben!
I would like to hear Wills input on there units.
Like the 197 and 198. Favorite is the 197. Great floorplan.
Nice unit Ben's a great well-informed rep, that's good to see you behaved this video. Good video. Good company, ie, rpod.
Besides being light, it appears to be a real low drag design, that tapered rear end is nice.
Very nice units! When will those hit the dealer lots? Thank you for the video Matt!
These are beautiful units I like the last two especially.!
The interior are beautiful and very spacious🎉❤😊
Thank you to both you gentlemen.
VERY impressed with this lineup! Great designs! I love the intelligent theater seat, too along with ALL the other cool features
I love these units. My friend has a small one and she loves it,
Love the last one!
Matt the last Rv would be awesome to get rid of the dinette and put the bar seating on that back wall
Thanks Matt and Ben.
Fantastic floorplans and reasonably priced for the increased interior finish!
I love the one with the kitchen bar.
Love these RPODS!
Love these trailers
Forest River. What about the bar set up in the 192 instead of the dinette?
I question the utilty of independent suspension and AT tires on a trailer. Even offroad you're going down dirt and gravel roads, not up rock walls, and the extra weight makes that more difficult. The AT tires are obviously just cosmetic since they're not powered. So dropping them seems ok.
For the 198, get rid of the dinette and put the bar back there!
I like them all.
These are very nice RV trailers!
I like the r pods and if I go out west I am thinking about getting one for bear country but otherwise I still love my pop up camper and I might be doing both I love the private bedroom in it and the bar facing the camp site. If I heard you'll right these are the 2025 models so I have some time to decide before they come out on the market
Nice RV Matt
I always wanted the 179 model. The kitchen was across the back, a lot of room.
Those Rpods are the bomb.
Love all the ones with dinettes. I don’t like the bar counters because husband and I can’t play games.
Thanks for the video. I am impressed with all the standards which is what we are looking for. Got me thinking seriously about an R-Pod now. However, out of all 15 new plans, I only see one plan with bunks and it’s on the largest end of their model line. Unfortunately with only a 5,000 tow capacity that will keep me away and I’d really like to see what they could do with some family options.
Keep an eye out for the New Rpod 200.
Non slide, Double over Double Bunks Around 23 feet and under 4000Lbs!
I am not a fan of the nets on the storage cubbies, maybe some roll - out trays/drawers to put small items in the bottom and a door on the top cubby. Also, I would prefer the microwave be up high somewhere - maybe as part of the stove fan unit. I get why solar is used, but, personally, I would prefer the option of a generator.
197 & 198 .... Wowzer!!!!
Goodyear tires are the best! Of course I work in a Goodyear warehouse, so buying them keeps me employed. Take from that what you will.
i like the floor plan on all of them
The 197 I like it.
I would buy a 153. Its a tough decision now that I discovered the Rove Lite though
Great products! However, I was disapointed that the double axle trailer didnt sleep 4. Otherwise it was really brilliant.
I think Matt walked through a cobweb.
Love the rp197
What exactly is new for 2025 besides the new floor plans?!?
Thinking of buying a 2024 would it be a good idea?
Glad they are cutting the weight. I wish you put more emphasis on hitch weight because in most sub 5000 lbs models the hitch weight is through the roof. I have a Acura MDX 5000 lb tow rate but only 500 lbs of hitch weight. Most 5000lbs capable SUVs will max out at 500 on the hitch. I see they went away with the super heavy curt suspension
I saw a new RPOD Rp-200 floorplan on their site. Sometimes it’s ther and sometimes it’s not. I liked the plan and took a screen shot of it. Does anyone have any info about it? It seems to be what I’m looking for.
The Rpods are impressive
That one is the vibe 19rb no slide. What is the size of those showers???
What about the 203? The weight doesn’t seem to have changed on floorplans, still 5,169#.
so for the walls, ceiling, front cap, rear, and floors....is it all azdel? I hate fiberglass insulation
You do get a wet bath with a Little Guy and Nucamp 320 and 400.
the manfacturer to make the r.pod is Forest River
Sorry Matt. I like the armrests in the 19s
I appreciate the larger refrigerators.
Not a fan of the 198 type floor plans, don’t like being trapped inside the bedroom if someone is using the toilet.
That 8ft wide was sweet..
so here is my thought. when I hear it is made for lightweight towing. I instantly think of cheap thin frames and issues with shortcomings. with frame issues more and more focused on it seems. manufacturers need to use this as a selling point to ensure the masses. And if they don't, I'm not promoting it when asked or purchasing it myself. just my thought as a consumer
@ 23:07 we have a tiny 2 person dinette with a tiny table top and they put 2 giant post underneath it were are people supposed to put their feet or knees? it's all steel post underneath the dinette table, bad design and lazy thinking on there part I would suggest R-pod look at the old school Fleetwood design that you're g-pa had , Fleetwood and other builders use a wall mounted flip down hinge with a skinny post a the end for max leg room
Kinda disappointed that there wasn’t any family campers😢. Does this company not have a bunkhouse models?😊
Matt, I’m very surprised to hear that you need a 3/4 ton truck to tow your little 6,000 lb RV😬I live in the Adirondacks in Upstate NY and have never had a problem with wind blowing around my 6,000 lb MiniLite 2205S that I tow with my little Nissan Frontier😅
Can you still take this on unpaved roads like fire lanes?
Loved the floorplan with a murphy bed and no outdated diner booth dinette, and the floorplan with theater seating and a walk around bed👍but all of those cheap plastic toilets were pretty disappointing☹️
I assume cutting down on the weight
@@d.e.little5387 I guess I’m just a risk taker, so I’ll gamble the extra 5-10 pounds to not hear my toilet creak and sound like it’s going to self destruct every time I sit down, and I’m only 180lbs😂
The bar on the 8’ is too small. I’d much rather a dinette. Thank you for the tour!
I love the 25 footer but not a fan of the walk through bathroom. I'd rather have a private toilet area. The other real dislike for me is clothes storage, especially hanging.
Can you upgrade the mattresses on a Murphy bed set up?
Yes they sell upgraded Murphy bed mattresses or you can always buy a Gel Memory Foam Mattress Topper!
@@brianharter5853 thanks
So independent suspension will be an option? If not should be
IS sucks , that’s why they discontinued it! Research it
Actually not having the armrest at all looks better and probably aren’t necessary with cup holders next to the tables at both ends
How’s that Ozempic working out? You will regret taking the easy way down the road.
I absolutely love it. But I agree, Matt, lose the arm rest
I appreciate the big window up front but when the (Murphy) bed is up…it’s useless. I’d save money and not have the Euro window with a Murphy bed; can’t imagine anyone leaving the bed down when not sleeping.
If you wanted, you could leave the bed down 100% of the time. There is enough space to walk through the door way. The Murphy bed just offers extra seating if you plan to have guests.
Is the last one 4 season?
All 2025 Rpods have an enclosed underbelly with forced Heat, great for extended season camping.
😢😢 whete Andrea..❤❤
Don't know what happened but you lost 1:11 your touch here Matt. The vids are starting to drag brother. Just an observ.
I know that this is about trailers so Will would be here...but is Andrea gone?
Can ford escape tow these RV campers?? Yes I am going on a lamb
Toyota 4Runner is what you’re thinking of
Tacoma is the smaller truck to the Tundra the 4 runner is a SUV
