In this Custom Fonts Streamelements tutorial I'll walk you through going to www.dafont.com to get a font, to installing a font on your computer, to then adding a custom font to Streamelements to use. This Streamelements tutorial helps for OBS tutorials, as well as Streamlabs OBS and any other software that supports browser sources.

I have a fix for anyone unable to find their font. Sometimes the name displayed in the font install is different from what it actually installs as. If typing the font name doesn't work initially double check by going to C:/Windows/Fonts and looking for your font there. The name of the file in that folder will be exactly what you need to type in. Hope my pain saves you guys from it!
Second trouble shooting fix. If it's not displaying in OBS, refresh your cache on the browser source and make sure your OBS is updated. (I didn't experience this directly, just another common problem's fix).

Hello there, i have a problem with adding a specific style of a font. I want to use "Open Sans ExtraBold", but i can only get the Open Sans Bold to work. I just choose Open Sans from the available fonts and tick the Bold option. Is there a way to choose the "ExtraBold"? Thanks in advanced

There has been complaints about the font not loading up right and that it doesn't work like it's supposed to when SE calls it. You will need to right-click on the font you downloaded and select "Install for All Users" and then restart. It should work appropriately after that.
Took me a while to figure out my issues. Had to restart chrome after downloading the font.
I got my font from that site and it is installed but it doesn't change the font in the settings, please help

I’m having trouble with my custom font not showing up on stream. It shows the correct font on my overlay in lightstream but the actual twitch stream shows a standard font. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks

I could not seem to get this onto stream elements, I could download and install but stream elements could not see any further. Is it because I am on windows 11?

IF YOU DID EVERYTHING OK AS GS Feare said in this video and you're starting to get mad: just close the tab and reopen it. It should work now just fine.
OH! and the same goes for OBS: you might not see it UNTIL you restart OBS!!!
Great tutorial! I do warn to read what the font says about usage. Look for ones that say 100% Free or can be used for commercial use.
If you use fonts that can only be used for personal use and you make money off your platforms and streams where you use the font, the creator can call a legal issue with you.

In my font (Supercell-Magic) is a minus and streamelements doesent know minus so the font isnt be able to use? Sorry for bad english

Hi I'm having some troubles. The font does not change after inserting my custom font's name in 'custom font family'. Could you help with that please?
Hmm, try to add the exact name, or double click the font and make sure you have it with the proper capitals :) it can be kind of finicky at times

NGL streamelements REALLY need to update their overlay editor to make it not so complicated. I typed in the font that I wanted to add on my custom overlay but it doesn't seem to detect it, if that works? I wish you can upload to the editor similar to how you can upload images.
They really do need to update it!
I'm sorry to bother you sir but I've tried to insert multiple new texts, all 100% Free, and with TrueType Font (ttf) and they don't show the change. Any advice on how to resolve this issue?
Hmm, are you sure that you've typed out the font with the exact spelling and capitalization? That sometimes messes it up
hey does anyone know if streamelements doesnt take OTF font files? I tried it from a font i was given an overlay pack and it wont recognize it, but it will with any other TTF file
I'd use some resource to convert the otf to a TTF personally, just to be sure

This video definitely helped with my problem of not being able to find my custom font. However, once I got it working and saved the overlay, every time I go back to it, the font stops working. Did anyone else have this problem and is there a possible fix?
I use a widget made by someone else and theres no option to toggle on custom font? And I'm getting a headache figuring out how to change the font, or can I not?
Certain widgets don't allow you to change the custom don't unfortunately

I don't know what im doing wrong. The overlays are displaying the fonts in the editor, but when i add it as a browser source to Lightstream or OBS, the font disappears. I do not know how to fix it and its getting frustrating
Try restarting OBS/your computer and see if that fixes
Restarting both does not seem to fix the issue sadly. No amount of Google searching seems to find the issue in having, i seem to be the only person on the planet experiencing this lol
