I have both units. They’re both great!! I do have more fun playing on the Rane Four though.
Rane four and the rev7 ? Or rane and ns7iii
Totally tell a pioneer fan boy!
I recently swithed from an NS7ii to the Rev7, used it for the first time tonight and was super responsive and the audio quailty was beautiful, the effects sounds great. Can't for next weeks triple header.
just say REV 7 is your favorite player SIR no need hamulating the RANE FOUR
I can also tell that you’re a fan of Rane😅
the rane is beast, no doubt
This battle really should be rev 7 vs rane one and flx 10 vs rane four
And like I will keep saying the ns7iii can still hang with the best this so called new stuff
@@warrensid why do people keep forgetting about the Ns7iii the only thing it’s missing is on board stems and on board effects other than that what does the rev seven or the rane one or rane four do
I prefer reviewers that are unbiased.... I have a Rev7 but I also own Numark & Denon controllers. It's clear he's a pioneer boy. LMBO... He says the master volume knob is at the top and he hits it reaching for his computer... Umm... The master volume is at the top of the the Rev7 and almost ALL controllers. Moving on to the next review.
I have the rev 7 and still don't understand why it doesn't have raised feet. The whole point was to emulate turntables, so why doesn't it have the feet too? I just find it odd.
One win for the Rane Four that you didn't mention for ports on the back, the Rane has a built in power transformer so just needs a standard 3-pin power cable. I have to carry a bespoke power brick like you get with a monitor and you either carry in backpack or inside carry case with rev 7. Another thing to lose. If lost and turned up to a gig, no one will have one.
I agree with you. I have the Rev7 and there’s no way I’d go from the Rev to the Rane
you are the best at this!
Thank You!! Off The Cut!!! No Pun!!
Mine REV 7 is coming tomorrow. I have the Prime 4, and the Roland 808 as far as newer controllers. My dj partner has the Rane Four.
Great review.
Bro, I think your vision might be a little worse than you think.
Thank you for your honest review. I have been going back-and-forth about what one to buy next.
The Ns7iii platters feel like honey I shrunk the 12's rrv 7 don't feel as. Much as turntables I had both and still have my Ns7iii and a rane one
Rane four all day!
Man to each there own. I have both and those platters on the Rev 7 all day. Love both though.
I own both but LOVE the stem split feature! In a perfect world I would combine features of both. Adding moving platters would seal the deal for me!
@@FlawlessDJs Hell yeah!! I agree!!
One more thing that the Rane Four has over the Rev7 is the Stem Split feature, it wasn’t mentioned unless I missed it. I would LOVE to have that feature, but don’t need it. Love my Rev7! Great video and review 👍🏼
Think you missed it. It’s actually a feature that doesn’t sound good when yiu use it in practice.
It's on the Rev 7 now.
@DJDUMusic Nah, that's maybe your experience... I used it right out the gate & had no issues & my crowds love it💯
thanks for the review i'm looking for a controler with good hardware fx and i will go toward pioneer
I have almost 3 years with my rev7 and nothing to complain about. Not a single problem. Respond as new. I will wait in that case for a Rev9 or rev10. Am not a knob mover. Current djs love to touch bottons with no aense and clap on the air. I prefer to move the jogs and keep my hands on it. Yeah am in the right choice
DDJ RANE ONE and DDJ REV-7 are mostly motorized planned with Jogwheel . But for me it's no problems the rhythms must I know . Suddenly liked DDJ - 1000srt and DDJ - FLX6 .
If the Rane had moving platters I would be all over it, they should of at lease made it an option to use both like the Denon SC5000M players
Ikr?? That's the only thing stopping me from getting it tbh
I love your fair and detailed honest review. You have made a fan outta me with your candid review. I would love for you to review the rane 70 for me. Since you have mentioned that you love moving platters, i might as well spend the $$$$ to get the 12’s and the 70 together….please let me know how you feel about the rane 70…
Thank you! Will do! I don’t have a 70 but if I get a hold of one, I definitely will do that.
Just wait for the all new pioneer Rev Infinity A thru Z stem research Mk 1. It's rumored to have a new music teleportation system built in 🤯
I wonder if people like to mix country music, excuse my ignorance
No that's a decent question ( not everyone is a hip hop battle mode dj) I also wonder if you can use for 60s rock & northern soul ? I'm looking for a controller that has maximum effects as I'm also a big Dub music fan . It's so difficult to make the right choice with high end controllers . Like also the SX3 & the Ddj 1000 Srt ? But as of now I'd go with the Rev 7 . What about you ?
@@davidcummings5984 decided for the flex 10 for portability and long term reliability you can say because not moving platters
Im on the rev 7 face group and hear constantly motor issues
I know its solid unit , but financially can’t justify having both
I like more the original serato controllers like sz sx , the reve 7 seems a very nice controller for open format djin I tryed the rev5 but had issues when using so ended up returning it
For serato the best dj controller seems to be the rev 7
That water will eventually effect the rev 7 if it got on the circuit board I would suggest you send it to a service center to be properly cleaned . I ordered the rane 4 be here next week .
I know I keep waiting for something to happen, but I’ve been using at five nights a week since February but still going strong.
Pioneers turnaround is forever.
I love my Rev 7…I never use smooth echo because I always forget to turn it off when scratching. I like it when I tried it, but in the moment it’s easy to forget that it’s on.
You can turn off crossfader for smooth echo in utility settings, I like Smooth echo for transitioning and echo for scratch routines.
he like REV 7 from start not a legit review comparison
you can definitely tell he's bias towards the rane 4 I have both and the Rev -7 is nice but I prefer using the rane four.
listen to em i have the Rane 4 it's garbage @@elevated-apparel
@@elevated-apparel That's what I said from the very beginning of this review (pioneer boy all day) and that lie about water dumped in the controller and he kept playing? Gimme a break... No Dj is that stupid to keep playing and not shut your gear off and avoid short circuiting.
🔥🔥🔥🔥💯✔️ I'm going with the Rane Four, great review 💪👌✌️
Definitely he is not doing this fairly he prefers Rev 7
Honestly, since the update on the Rane Four I should redo the review I also want to do one on the Pioneer FLX 4 which I absolutely love for a budget controller
the fact that he didn't even mention the race 4 stem split feature is insane. I stopped watching after that
corrosion happens over time. It will die if you don't have it cleaned. Rane build quality shits all over pioneer
Rane build is better but performance? Not touching the rev 7
Great review 👍
What is your thought of a Rane One MKII with stems, and onboard fx and two channels. The size would be perfect, over the Performer by Rane that has been leaked. I had a Numark NS7 ii and it was a tank. Looking for a smaller controller with motorized jogs, any ideas? I also DJ for a much smaller Rodeo in Minnesota for Youth Bull Riding. It is a amazing event to play for. I am not near your talent level, do you have any helpful advice for me during this event. Great work on your content and reviews. Great Job!!!
Tnks for your review was helpful
Which one is more cpu friendly as far as the usage of the STEMS?!?
Great review brother.. are you using 🎤 sounds great... my performance is not good but I can learn from you.. stay connected 😉💪
Thank you so much for this video! I'm brand new to DJing and have narrowed down my controller options to Pioneer Rev7 and FLX10 and Rane One and Four. I like the idea of motorized jogwheels but I am brand new so I have no experience. I was going to get the Rev7 but I found out it doesn't use Rekordbox. Do you find that an issue when you play in clubs since most have Pioneer equipment and Rekordbox or is that a non issue? Also, would you pick the Rev7 over the FLX10?
The rane four has stem split the rev7 does not.
I always tell people that Pioneer will always have better/smoother effects than Rane.. The Rane One couldve been so much better if they added more features. The price point on the Rane One vs what you got on it was lackluster.. The Rane Four is wayyy better than the Rane One but, still behind the REV 7 imo..
I had the RANE for and I was disappointed. They look beautiful but it’s still doesn’t give you the biggest excitement. The fact that the jogs wasn’t motorized and doesn’t move was annoying and I didn’t understand why RANE did that. The anticipation and excitement I had for the RANE was high until I received it and got disappointed. Anyways, I have both the 1000SRT and Rev7 and I’m very happy with both. I couldn’t even choose RANE over SRT and I had to return the RANE back. Now I have both Rev7 and the SRT and I love it both.
Excellent comparison, Did you take the feet off the Rev 7 or does it sit that low.
It sits that low.
This isn’t even a good review at all , for 1 one controller jogs spins and the other doesn’t so how could u compare ?
You can't.. Rev7 outshines the Rane in that aspect.
BIAS review
I don't like the horizontal pitch control on rev 7, I prefer vertical.
because you don't scratch records and never learned on actual turntables or vinyl. Once you start scratching or beat dropping and doing advanced djing other than lame blending of music. Than you'll realize why the pitch is on the top and away from your hands. I've been djing for 20 years and having the pitch blend at the top or horizontal moves them away from you hands. It's also not something you use but a few seconds every song. The real estate that it opens up having them up top and away is just better. They call it battle mode and it's for advanced djing which every dj should pursue if you actually want to be good. If you are just blending electronic music than the pitch fader vertical is fine but it's also lame in my opinion. Be better all the time at everything you do. Tiesto doesn't scratch and he's lame.
im looking at switching from vinyl to digital , what one do you think best for me ,im a newbie to buttons and lights 😊
Wait, you said a bunch of water on the rev 7 and you just keep working with it instead of turn it off and try to drain the water off??? Okkkk you lost me there 😅😅
Agreed... Don't believe that for a second.
Rev 7 all day
I should have followed my first mind and got the Rev 7 I am having so many issues with the Rane 4
@@dogginu1 do you recommend to buy the rane 4 ? What’s the issues do you are having with it?
Pioneer fanboy alert 🚨
I love Rane four an pioneer
If only the rev was a 4 channel….
As a battle style DJ I would pick the Rev7 no question asked. I don't like those que buttons by the jog wheels
Thanks
I agree
I'm waiting for the motorized rane4
just a quick question, if i go to a gig like im on a line up do i have to take mylaptop with or just my usb, because some people are scared that their laptops will get virusesfrom other djs usb, i'm watching from south africa and thanks for the information
I show up to gigs carrying most of my own gear. If you're using a MacBook Pro you shouldn't have a problem.
Are u serious? Ofcourse u need to take your own laptop with you.
I've played on both. You can feel when scratching the rev7, Rane has a better build but who cares. The audience wants you to perform. If you a house dj Rane will work for you. Then again, I'm a house DJ.. I'm fine with two channels. I don't have anything bad to really say about the Rane 4. Rev7 has motorized platters so you can't compare.
You ain't kidding lightrockshocker.
The Hercules wins!
Definitely want to check out the new one. Especially for the price.
@@DJDUMusic … Belt driven tho you may have to put it forward a little bit like back in the days lol
The Rane 4 way better then the Rev7 , that’s all .
Rane bought us a 4 channel controller , overpriced, and with poor jog wheels, poorly thought out FX, poor screens, shared FX paddles. With a couple of extra buttons… to do stems if you find that useful. At least pioneer got pricing right on the FLX10. Even the rev7. Rane and Denon and numark are living in cuckoo land right now with pricing on all products. 😂
yeh, u tell'em. pioneer has fair pricing on all their products.
@@jamesbarnes6964 I don’t understand your point, the pioneer FLX10 is £200 cheaper than the Rane Four. And even has mechanical jog wheels unlike the Rane four. Your sarcasm is lost on me. 😂 the Rev 7 has motorised jogs. I don’t understand what the Rane 4 SP is apart from stems. Which you can pretty much map to any controller anyway.
Nothing pioneer 😒
Rane 4 too big n heavy platters too thight and heavy for scratching
Rane Four is lighter than the Rev 7
Pioneer for me Rane has issues
Anybody in NYC area? … I’ll sell you my brand new Rane Four… just played with it Twice at home… it even still has the plastic stickers covering the screens… I just got it like 2 weeks ago… I also own the Rev 7 … but decided I don’t really need the Rane Four .
How Much?
The REV7 is more more far better.
rev7 all day
