Why do I wake up at 4am? Because I've got kids! End. 1-minute video. 🤣🤣🤣 I'm curious? What time do you wake up and what do you do during that time? Are you a morning person or a night owl?
LOL, I'm definitely a night owl. But I don't have children. My wife gets up very early (not quite 4AM but close) and goes to be early. My creative time is mostly after she has gone to bed.
The big problem is everyone is different and even different times in our life are different. The 4am think is actually kind of common in both the spiritual and creative communities which I have worked in both. Part of it is it is a quiet time with usually no distractions so good for deep thought and deep thinking. Also what I've noticed is most who practice it are older. For me I was alway a night owl like my dad that is my creative time both in music and I spent a lot of time in computer programming. I would be going to bed at 4am not getting up and retired now still a night owl but try to get to bed by 1am. Now at a few times in my life I got heavily in to working out and in those time I found myself doing the 4am thing to go workout so I could workout before going to my IT job. Now when I stop doing that then I flip back into night owl mode. I think the type of work/life someone lives determines if they want or need to be a 4am type. A lot of my work in my young days burning the candle at both ends playing music, school, and part time job I could get up at any hour necessary to do something. I was a recording engineer at one point before computer everything and many times had to work 24, 48 hours (squeeze in a nap when possible). It didn't phase me working till 3am and have to get up a 6am to do something necessary. But I knew people who could never do that they HAD to live on a schedule to productive. I think it's all about how well you can control your ability to focus on something. Can you focus even if there is chaos going on around you, or need the quiet of early morning. On if you like or hate living on a schedule. I can only deal with schedules for so long and then they drive me crazy and most my bosses over the years realize that and work with it. Give me deadlines and I'll hit them, but try to micro manage me and you'll regret it. Oh well I've talked to long. Bottom line everyone is different.
This is awesome to see your time management strategy. This is something that I battle with all the time since I compose in my free time after my day job. Sometimes the energy is depleted at the end of my day and I have to muster enough energy to do creative tasks. Its an ongoing effort to stay productive. Thanks for sharing!
Very early! Like 7 or 8om. 9 tops! I need my 6-8 hours of sleep. More like 8! LOL I basically follow my kids' schedule when it comes to going to bed and I wake up 3-4 hours before them. Maybe that's the REAL why!! :p
Hi, I watched lots of your videos but there are 2 things I don't understand. First is how to score dialogue? And second how to adjust my score after editor changed the scene duration? How to adapt my score to the new edit?
4 am ??? well I guess it comes with Kids anyway :-))) But imho everyone has an own bio-rythm so finding your own schedule is key. f.e. I know that I am more creative in the evening through past midnight. Then sleep out ;-) and get up between 9-11h
Exactly! Every one has their own rhythm. As long as you sleep the right amount of time (which also is different for everyone, but for me it's about 7-8 hours) then you should be fine no matter when you start and end the day in my opinion ;)
Cinematic Composing is a scam. You have a bunch of overpriced courses (starting at $897) and it’s only filled with nothing but empty air. Cinematic Composing exploits the demands of musicians to learn film scoring with scam courses. The same case goes with Evanant and Thinkspace. There are much more affordable courses out there that has great content ie. Mike Verta. And before you think I’m some kind of a troll, well, I wake up at 4am too and spend the entire day being productive in creativity and music.
Hi Jason! Thanks for your honest comment and for sharing your thoughts 🙂 Here are three courses that start at $97 (and we've got courses that start lower than that) - Orchestral Mockup Production ($97): svocourse.com/course786833?el=youtube - Orchestration ($97): orchestrationcourse.com/course3dd2487iuw?el=youtube - Mixing with Dennis Sands (Avengers, Forrest Gump...) ($97): mixingcourse.com/mixing-for-composers8h87hu7?el=youtube - I'm so happy that you "wake up at 4am too and spend the entire day being productive in creativity and music"! You may wanna stop wasting time watching UA-cam videos from people you don't like though! 😜😉 👍
Evenant is really caring about the composers who buy their courses. Their content is constantly improving year by year. Lots of cool updates. Prices are very reasonable especially if you get the courses on discount e.g. Black Friday. And there is a whole group so that learners/composers/designers etc. can ask questions or interact with each other. And the feedback they get is really helpful. I completely disagree with your opinion.
I think that is personal opinion. I have 7 years studying music and recently bought two of the courses named above and I like them so much. I strongly recommend Cinematic Composing Courses for beginners as well for experienced musicians. Also, you have the possibility of complete refund.

Hi Jason. I disagree entirely with everything you just said. Have a wonderful day:)
