The Calidor snail is a portable oxygenator that runs on seeds instead power
yep, pretty handful. it's virtually impossible to run out of oxygen now
What is the point of that with the QT RTG? You cannot run out of oxygen anymore. It's even easier to get a portable oxyginator and a QT RTG because that maintains itself.
@@requiemagent3014 you are right, maybe it's meant to be useful in the early stage, before you can't afford a portable oxygenator yet

@@ghuleh969 For crafting??? Astroneer doesn't have any crafting. It has printer you can hookup to your base power. Just slap two QT RTG's on your backpack and you literally never run out of power. Drills only take up a very minor amount of power.
This update is amazing, collecting all the snails is so much fun, the suit you get for collecting all of them looks sick, and the snails are extremely adorable

My favorite snails pairs are as follows: Atrox and Vesania (Fast speed, no fall dmg), Calidor and Novus (Energy and Oxygen), Atrox, Desolo and Sylva (speed, rare treasures and cave/night light), Glacio and Novus (better mining and power for extra drills) and finally 13 Atrox (in creative) for INSANE speed and jumps
Overall I like Glacio because I just love the planet anyways and Princess because I die too much

My favorite is Princess. I love exploring the most dangerous caves without a single worry---no hisbine, no daggerroot, nothing can kill me. Plus she's just so cute, I love the pink palette of Princess and all of Vesania
I use the plants as boost pads now
My favorite snail has to be Bestefar. It's the snail I've used the most out of my entire playthrough, even though all of the others are good in themselves. I also love his white and blue color palette, and I just like them in general.

The name being called Sylvie is a reference to the Latin word for forest, it's also a French name so, maybe one of the Devs knows a Sylvie or something 🤔

The Xeno-biology-lab (spelled like 'Xeno = Seeno) is a lab for alien/foreign (that's what xeno means) biology. AKA a lab for studying alien stuff like space snails.

The Snail of vesania? princess It gives you immunity to damage received, it is completely broken if you add it to the calidor snail that gives oxygen. Personally I always take them both for the exploration of a planet etc.

after 300 hours on my original save I finally started a new game and I now get to enjoy the new terrain 2.0 and not get stuck all the time its wonderful!

It’s tempting to replace my portable oxygenator and two QT-RTG’s with Stilgar and Rogal but I feel like it would be too stressful to have to worry about finding seeds before you suffocate whenever Stilgar’s buff wears off

@@KuyaGameAstroneer Finding seeds is not a difficult subject. You can always have a seed on it. Whenever they eat that seed, from any kind of plant, you can get a seed. They eat all the seeds.

In my opinion stilgar is the beat snail beacuse if you give him a seed he will produce you a lot of oxygen and when using him you can explore a lot beacuse when you explore there is a lot of plants so you can give him food anytime

Its kinda funny when you think about it, the devs basically added cheat engine/Trainer cheats in but as content you only need a seed farm for.

For the required quests to get the strange object, do the main quest line, and once you get the medium printer (I think, if not just keep doing quests) it will give you smeltering hot. Once you do that, it will give you bait & switch, and that quest will award you with the strange object.
