However, the Gameboy Advance version would have contained the five Gameboy exclusive Mega Man games, updated and colourised for the GBA. It then got delayed, and delayed, with rumours that Capcom LOST huge portions of the source code, meaning they had to re-code it from scratch. Rumours also surfaced that the game was being delayed to be released on the DS, instead. However, Capcom came out and announced that Mega Man Anniversary Edition was "suspended indefinitely", and, to this day, no known GBA prototypes have surfaced. I really liked X6 though I only ever played it as a Zero game. I am sad that it is hated as much as it is, though I can definitely see why. Though the bug of the games not being a danger zone or not for some of the stages is a pain. (Do note I paid little attention to the story and the localization of it when I played it)
x1-x6 were all amazin to me as a child. however, x2 and x4 hold a special place in my heart. I really hope capcom does x9 justice. MM11's artstyle is great, hope they go for something similar, minus the very awkward walking animation.
Megaman X5 is my favorite. I loved the graphics, the much needed crouch mechanic, the bosses and level layouts a lot. X4 is a close second but I suck at the first 3
I was always wondering how they'd do this. I was certain that they'd have just bundled all 8 into one package, since it made no sense to split it 4 and 4. Capcom never fails to hurt my brain with their stupidity.
Some collections from capcom I would pay for street fighter 3 third strike online edition Viewyiful joe collection Marvel vs capcom collection Devil may cry hd collection Rival schools And power stone collection with online That would be amazing especially of life were on switch
Third strike online edition is already on PS3/XB360 though. unless you're talking about a entire Street Fighter 3 collection separative from the 30th Anniversary.
SuperFusionAJ93 SuperFusionAJ93 online edition is a separate release of SF3 third strike that has built in achievements, trials, colors for fighters and has better net code for online battles. Ps3 and Xbox 360 are last gen A switch/PS4/Xbox one release would be excellent.
Personally I think both collections have 1 weak game in them (Legacy Collection 1 has 1 with X3 while 2 has 2 with X6 and X7 from what I've heard). But overall I'm still getting these two because I like X1, X2, X4, X5 and X8. Plus this will be my first exposure to X7.
StaticShock42 Yeah. X3 May have had its flaws but the game is miles better than X6 and 7. I personally I wish Capcom added in Command Mission and Maverick Hunter as it’s also part of the main series. I hope it’s at least DLC. It does make you wonder though what made Capcom think it was a good idea to separate the games. I doubt it would be too much to put in the disc when they’ve done it before
A thorough, informative, understandable and honest review as expected from the Ash (the BEST GX reviewer IMO). I know it doesn't make sense to "review a review", but I give your review a 10/10! xD Wish Capcom would watch this and learn from their continuous mistakes for once.
Excellent, this looks like just what I wanted from the X Legacy Collections. Having smaller loading times in X7 should make that game a bit more enjoyable, and portable X8 is just brilliant.
i'd get only legacy collection 1... i never get why people have problems with X3... i really like it even with its wacky physics. it was the megaman x where i felt my progress really reflected, lots of collectibles + the gold armor and saber i really loved 100% it time to time.
Megaman X6 is my first megaman game and the one I feel the most nostalgic about . You totally roasted that game Ash, you've made yourself a powerful enemy .
One thing I can try appreciate is how you go through the trouble of painstakingly captioning your videos, and not having to succumb to Google’s auto-captions. Really helpful for those that need it!
I love the idea getting rid of rewind and continuing to use canned saved states - otherwise I have no self control and abuse them. I would think, this is more of a creative choice on their point versus cutting corners. I think they don't want you to take them for granted...if that makes sense?
I disagree, having the option is always better that way people who struggle more can use them and still have an enjoyable experience while better players can choose not to. It just takes some self control I guess. Also keep in mind that the challenges in these games are not always fair (though they usually are, don't get me wrong) so there will be situations where savestates are justified. Capcom should have included them.
Nodever2 or modern gamers can learn how to play the game instead of having the game just play it for them. The Rookie hunter mode is more than adequate as an easy mode with the almost infinite health
I'm buying the X collection 2 just because I'm a mega man fan and I've never played them when they launched. I always had Nintendo consoles and no PlayStation ones.
Infinite Mijinion, Blaze Heatnix, Shield Sheldon, Ground Scaravich, Nightmare Mother, High Max, Gate. Bad, bad, bad, bad, bad, BAD. Bad stages, bad bosses, game only has appeal in pure masochism
Why couldn’t Mega Man Maverick Hunter X be included as well? It would be great for those who don’t own any PlayStation consoles. I want to be able to play as Vile!
They do have the anime they made for it included which is pretty nice but yeah it would have been cool if something like Maverick Hunter X would have been included.
Megaman X1 is really important to me, and it might even be my favorite game of all time, so I'm glad that it was well adapted and I'll be ready to play it when I have the chance to go get it
Here my list of Megaman X games in Megaman X Legacy Collections 1 and 2. Megaman X:The Best. Megaman X2:Great. Megaman X3:Good. Megaman X4:The Best. Megaman X5:Good. Megaman X6:Bad. Megaman X7:The Worst. Megaman X8:Great. Megaman X9 is in the works and it's being worked on, when it comes out and is released someday it will be excellent and successful.
I was definitely interested in the first half of the X collection. I'm still mildly interested in the second. I received X6 as a Christmas present back in the day and have fond memories for it.
Is it bad if I actually like X5 for what it attempted? For me, it and X8 help save the second half of the collection, even with it's own (serious) flaws. Alia, please leave me alone.
Black Pants I'm gonna guess they just mean they're not die hard fans of the series, but saying that X6's level design is so bad that even they couldn't like it.
Thanks for this longer, in-depth review. Most reviews I've seen haven't covered the entire package or didn't cover nearly enough details. I'm torn between this and Legacy collection 2 (mainly for Mega Man 8).
As somebody who has grown up with all eight Platform genre Rockman X entries, I have a personal soft spot for seeing the PlayStation 02 Era entries (X 07 and 08) finally having a modern release for those who couldn't get them in their initial release, especially X 08, which was notorious for having a violently limited release due to 07's mixed reception; ironically, it kind of reminds me of NBA Elite 'II when it had a very limited release on the PlayStation 03 at launch due to the Demo Build's notably negative reception, it's not a bad title in retrospect and ultimately not one that deserved to be canned due to improvements that the Demo definitely didn't have. What I anticipate most out of these two compilations is the subject on Modding capability: As the lot of us know, Rockman X 03 now has a ROM hack in the community that allows for Zero to be playable in all levels and sections of the game that he was once restricted from (midbosses and bosses included, he can even get X's upgrades to give him later on; please note that this ROM hack is only for the Super Famicom original and not yet on the Saturn and PSX port), Rockman X 06 has gotten a Retranslation that ultimately deserves both that and its English dub to make a return, and fate knows that Rockman X 07 needs a mod to get rid of issues such as Easy Reploid Death by bullets and damage hitboxes on platforms (forcing you to reboot your save file to attempt to get them again) and assuring that the Boss Rush doesn't restart you at the very beginning even if you lose on the eighth Maverick, among other things I could bring up for the others; having seen the struggle that X 03 and 05 to 08 have endured over the years, this compilation truly could do some justice if Dataminers are willing to do enough digging and overhaul every title, we could essentially have even X 06 (which I still consider to be one of the best titles to have been created in less than a year's worth of development time outright) and 07 become masterpieces and viewed better by the lot of the Clement Era community if enough dedication is put into this and wishfully we will see that soon, the X series is the perfect balance of what a Platform Shooter must be and it truly would be lovely to see every title get optimizations in virtually every field possible, the franchise deserves this love after all this time (save for the two Xtreme entries, Command Mission, and Irregular Hunter X, of course) and it truly will be a beautiful way to celebrate the first entry's Silver Year, here's to X mods becoming on the rise soon.
I only picked up the first of the two X collections so far, but I'll definitely be buying the second one. It's odd, but I'm almost more intrigued by the latter set. X7 and X8 feel like absolutely bizarre entries in a seemingly easy-to-pull-off formula, and X7 might be the game I'm most interested in trying out. I missed it at the time, and it seems like an ambitious disaster. As for the save state issue, I'd be very curious to read an interview with the developers. It seems like a genuinely baffling misstep given the ease of this feature in unofficial emulation.
I actually am really excited to play X8. I never could find it for a good price so I missed out on it. I love Axel in X8 and I really want to play with him. Also I want to see how bad the later games are. Though I am cheating with X6 because like Johnny said, "This game cheats and you have to cheat back!"
I played every game sequentially from MM1 to MM11 and then X1 to X8. What an amazing adventure. It was like reading a book that had good chapters and bad chapters. The bad chapters were MM3, MMX3, MMX6, and MMX7
I haven’t played X6 yet, but I’m about after finishing X5 just today. I’ve seen the videos, I’ve seen the gameplay, and I’ve seen the development, but I want to hear it from some rando on the internet. It is really THAT bad? Is the level design really as bizarre and unfinished as people say? Are the bosses (barring Mijinion) really pushovers? Are the donuts really that stupid-looking?
Good review. I'm an original old school Megaman 1st era fan. I had a friend that new everything about the original Megaman and used to bring those action figures to school. He let me play with them and let me borrow all his games up until I bought my first Megaman, Megaman 6 (which was the last game to come out on the NES). I left and didn't like the super nes version for 7 (which was the point I crossed over to the Sega Genesis). I returned when it came out on the Saturn as Megaman 8 and loved the revamp. Didn't care too much for all that other RPG and 3D Megaman stuff or X, but I wanted to see what X was about so I bought Megaman 4 when it come out. Looks like I just happen to hit the best game in the series upon your review, but I didn't care for that series either. Now I regard 1, 5, 6, 8 and Megaman X4 as the best in the series. From the sound of it, Megaman X6 wanted to wear Sonic's Coat in the world of Contra and failed.
Actually my favorite mega man x game is the 7th one then the 8th one but I see everyone always giving bad reviews on the 7 lol maybe it’s cuz I normally play 3D games and not a big fan of 2D
I know it's an old video but... just a note, because it was shown in the video and you mentioned it and complained about it and was confused why it was happening: the stuttering encountered with the SNES games is because the emulation is accurate, and the SNES had that slowdown in the games. I saw it in your video and recognized it from playing them back in the day. They overloaded the HW with too many sprites on many occasions and would rather have slowdown than have less stuff going on / fidelity. It would probably require a reverse-engineering of the original and a full port to correct that, which is probably never going to happen.
The lack of rewind function is a deal breaker. I would love to be able to play through these games casually in what little bit of free time I get but the days of spending hours and hours grinding through hard core platforming is over for me.
I bought both collections just because I want to show Capcom that we are willing to support the game in order to get a Mega Man X9 down the road.. Don't get me wrong I love the original Mega Man games but they have already brought that series back numerous of times with Mega Man 9, Mega Man 10 and the upcoming Mega Man 11. Us X fans deserve to have our beloved franchise brought back from the past..
Personally I find Megaman X4 to be the pinnacle of the series. It took what made the first three games amazing and polished it into one complete package. It had a beautiful art style, excellent soundtrack, and the smoothest gameplay out of the series. I enjoyed unlocking alternate colors for X and Zero. Having custom parts to choose from that changed your blaster. Boss power ups not only made you stronger but gave you better movement options and ways to access certain areas of the game. I wish it was a little more difficult but besides that X4 is a fantastic game. 1st Collection is way better in quality but I'm still getting both because I'm a huge fan of the X series. I hope if they ever decide to make an X9 they take inspiration from the first 4 titles and build off of that.
I actually prefer legacy collection 2 than legacy collection 1, because I grow up with X4, X5, X6, and X8, and I remember loving them all. I actually remember having a harder time for X5 final stage rather than X6 tho 😂😂, still love both games tho.
3:44 - 3:49 The dub still holds up, I assure you. It's magical and never ceases to entertain. 5:21 - 5:24 *Looks at the translation* What makes you laugh? I hid myself while I repaired myself. It seems like the only reason to get the Legacy Collection 2 is to have an affordable way to play X5 and X8 or for those who don't have a working PS2/fat PS3.
X6 is one of those games that I'm seriously interested in sitting down, playing, and getting a solid opinion on. I hear everywhere it's the Sonic 06 of Mega Man X, but a few people here and there like Somecallmejohnny claim it isn't really all that bad.
Or just remake 1, 2, and Misadventures of Tron Bonne with Legends 3 prologue revived and recreated from the ground up and put together in a collection called “Mega Man Legends Reprinted Collection” or something like that.
STM I got TB and 2 when they were rereleased on PSN on the respective days they came out with 1 from the morning after its rerelease. I had to get these games to show full support for the Legends series, especially since I never played any of them at the time, and the games were overall good. But from what I heard, neither 1, 2, or TB got rereleased in Europe and maybe even Australia. A Legends collection should be made to have all gamers from all over the world to show support for the Legends series and convince Capcom that there is still an audience for these games and give us Legends 3.
X5 is one of the most important games in my life since not only is the one that I have many memories but is the kind of game that I replay at least one time every year. I'm Aware of the problems, however even with those problems a call X5 the 2nd best game in the series sharing the place with X4. X5 has problems yes, but a lot of people forget that it has one of the best mechanics and some of the best weapons in in the series. Playing with X and Zero in the Same playthough, Great Level Desing, Amazing Music, one of the most consistent Maverick Desings, 3 sets of armors for X(The First one is the complete set of X4 when you start the game with X), One of the most interesting armors in the series(Falcon Armor, Weak Attack, It can Freaking Fly), The Time Mechanic that means nothing because the game don't advance time unless you complete a stage, And the endings that are all really good conclusions to the series(Zero's being on of the most depresing endings in Videogame History making me cry when i first Saw it). X5 has problems(I CAN'T STRESS THIS ENOUGH), but the game as a package is one of the most amazing games i ever play and my favorite in the X series even if X1 is no contest the better game in the series.
I find X5 tolerable up until I have to deal with Tidal Whale (I always refused to use the stupid Guns N Roses names). His stage is slow and boring and replaying it is even worse and the fight with Tidal Whale himself is a ridiculous game of constant insta-death. When he reaches his higher levels and moves very fast shooting ice to smash you against the spikes, I will jump to avoid one and while in mid air and I can't stop it because I'm slowly jumping through water, he shoots another that pushes me into the spikes. I just don't even deal with him any more, pick his weakness and literally stand inside his hit box trading hits with him until I win.
duff mcwhalen Stage is with no doubt the weakest but I dont think is bad. In regard of the boss fight I never had problems fighting him, Specially with his weakness, it totally breaks the boss fight using Grizzly Slash ability.
Karson Beers I don’t think they do. Also, do YOU sleep? DO I SLEEP? DOES ANYONE SLEEP? AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!
I had x4 and x5 also had mm8. Great games growing up. Was stoked to play as zero i remember renting x3 from blockbuster. Was great for some standard 2d side scrolling in a time where everything switched to 3d and the camera could possibly be bad. Days of playing Star wars demolition comes to mind good game btw.
I quite like X5. For a while that game was my favorite in the series. Shame they got rid of the Guns'N Roses name but didn't see fit to fix anything in X6. The collections are a bit more even to me, with the weak games being X3 and X6. X7, while not a game I recommend, is just interesting to analyse. Helps that it's not a hard game by any means.
I'll get the first collection whenever I have a Switch, the first game alone makes it worth it, but I'll also get to try out the 4th game that I missed out on and hear so many good things about!
Love how they've really optimised all the originally disc based games to remove unnecessaryl loaf times. They went above and beyond the usual emulation.
That is something I was hoping Capcom would do. X7 having shorter loading times alone will make it a bit more pleasant to play, especially in the boss rematch area.
I only played x6 in this collection and I think that's one of the best games I played on PS1. I guess I was really young back then didn't mind the flaws and just enjoyed it.
Hey there Mr.Ash Never played X series. So excited its out. Capcom please don't be cheap and fix your switch versions. SF3 third strikes audio is terrible in handheld mode. And Like mr.Ash has said the rewind feature should be included in this game as well. We pay good money for these games and want to continue but not when these games are released constantly broken. Thank you and have a good day.
This answered every question I had about these collections. Shame about the save states. Hoping to pick up Legacy collection 1, but I feel like I'll still steer clear of Collection 2.
Im glad X8 is finally getting a rerelease of some kind. X7 soured the series for so many people that most peopIeI know just completely skipped out on X8 and, sure, it might not be as strong as X1~4 (excluding X3 imo) its a decently strong entry in the franchise even after the low points of the series.
A nice idea to put in the megaman x legacy collection would be to either put Megaman x command mission as a dlc or its own separate game. But, if it was a dlc then it could be accesible through the game selection screen on either legacy collection game.
I'm only truly interested in playing X1 through X4. But considering you can buy the physical copy that includes both collections 1 and 2, for $20 used at Gamestop, and it costs $19.99 to individually buy the first collection from the Nintendo Store...might as well go with Gamestop and just take them both, even if i only play X8 from the second collection.
Looking forward to the Mega Man Zero/ZX Legacy collection review. The X and Zero series are my two favorites (although I love the classic series and Battle Network as well)
I just think of Legacy Collection 2 as Megaman X8 HD with three bonus games thrown in xD Still, I'm happy all of these games (even the more... suspect ones) are available on all modern consoles
Honestly, I'm just glad they decided to make X6 and X7 available at all. It would have been very easy to simply pretend they didn't exist, but they didn't, and it's not like they're forcing you to buy them if you only want the good ones. There's no defending the lack of save states though.
X4 was my first ever megaman game and absolutely loved it, loved the legacy collections on the 3DS it's a shame that these X collections didn't make it there definitely would've picked up at least the first one with X1-4
The save system in x1 is garbage. Ya its a password system but the thing is that I had all weapons, 9 lives, all 4 of my reserves where full and I was at the 2nd stage of the final level. I then saved and took a brake. When I whent back ALL OF MY RESERVES WERE EMPTY, I HAD 2 LIVES, I LOST A WEAPON, AAANNNNDDD I END UP AT THE BEGINNING OF THE LAST LEVEL. Its not all bad because I can farm all of that, but I just wish capcom fixed it.
I'd say both collections are worth getting, but it's understandable why many are hesitant to purchase legacy collection 2 when there's only 2 decent games on it (x5 and x8), and the other half of the games are mostly hated by the fanbase. Still, I hope legacy collection 1 doing way better than 2 still gives us a megaman 11 of the x series (2.5d graphics as opposed to sprites, and not being like megaman 9 and 10 for the x series).
They really should have spent some time improving X6 and X7. I think the whole "burn burn burn to the ground" thing was an oversight where someone programmed him to say this every attack but didn't realize someone else was programming him to constantly attack with three clones all at once. The controls and hit detection in X7 could have been tweaked, voices rerecorded using the X8 actors, and X should be unlocked from the start of the game. X6 needs that up+ attack = dive to your death move fixed to be a down+ attack move like originally intended. They should have toned down the nightmares AI to be less aggressive giving you a fairer chance to save reploids and not have the screen filled with projectiles. Other than the voice rerecordings (which X6 actually needs too since it wasn't even translated and left the Japanese in) I don't think any of these things are that much to ask for.
Does anyone know if that up+ attack = death problem has at least been fixed? Made playing as Zero and trying to attack and hang on ropes nearly impossible.
"The fact that X7 does eventually end is probably it's only redeeming quality."
Daaaaamn Ash, that was cold blooded
Sometimes the truth hurts!
I still consider X6 worse
@@DisasterLord X6 may be a bad Megaman game but X7 is just a bad video game period.

Viewyiful joe collection
Marvel vs capcom collection
Devil may cry hd collection
Rival schools
And power stone collection with online
That would be amazing especially of life were on switch
I would add Onimusha HD Collection to that list.
Third strike online edition is already on PS3/XB360 though. unless you're talking about a entire Street Fighter 3 collection separative from the 30th Anniversary.
Forgot about Darkstalkers (did say "I would pay for" but still)
SuperFusionAJ93 SuperFusionAJ93 online edition is a separate release of SF3 third strike that has built in achievements, trials, colors for fighters and has better net code for online battles.
Ps3 and Xbox 360 are last gen
A switch/PS4/Xbox one release would be excellent.
StaticShock42 same but because I never played one of those games. I saw it when I was a kid would love to check it.
It felt so satisfying to defeat Sigma in X4 in HD. Yes, I beat it that quick.
Is it a crazy noticeable difference
T SMACKS It definitely is in X8, holy fuck
D-Sav not the other ones?
T SMACKS More so in X8 since it's actually rendering at HD resolutions
D-Sav that’s weak af.
StaticShock42 Besides, this is probably the easiest way to get X8 due to its limited release making it harder to find
X7 is basically not a Megaman game, which doesn't have a good support beam to stand on with how distant.
I doubt it would be too much to put in the disc when they’ve done it before
Carl Bloke I asked that when Mega Man Legacy Collection first came out.
StaticShock42 "Burn to the ground". *cough cough*
A thorough, informative, understandable and honest review as expected from the Ash (the BEST GX reviewer IMO).
I know it doesn't make sense to "review a review", but I give your review a 10/10! xD
Wish Capcom would watch this and learn from their continuous mistakes for once.
Have you really replayed it since ?
Yeah last year. I really dig the creepy vibe of the game.
You have plenty of enemies then, the game has MANY detractors.
my first was x1 but i love 6 also I love ninja x he badass
ChiefMedicPururu Sonic Adventure 2 is great.
One thing I can try appreciate is how you go through the trouble of painstakingly captioning your videos, and not having to succumb to Google’s auto-captions. Really helpful for those that need it!
I find X6 very fun. The “annoyances” make it fun to me. I know this is my opinion but I like all of the x games except x7 lol
I fully agree...
Yeah I can play x6 and just laugh at the bad stuff and enjoy the music
X6 is my guilty pleasure.
I love the idea getting rid of rewind and continuing to use canned saved states - otherwise I have no self control and abuse them. I would think, this is more of a creative choice on their point versus cutting corners. I think they don't want you to take them for granted...if that makes sense?
They could have at least kept the option to fight the bosses in the gallery
How am I supposed to beat the bosses No Damage/Buster Only if I can't fight them in the gallery or use the save state in their stages?
I disagree, having the option is always better that way people who struggle more can use them and still have an enjoyable experience while better players can choose not to. It just takes some self control I guess.
Also keep in mind that the challenges in these games are not always fair (though they usually are, don't get me wrong) so there will be situations where savestates are justified. Capcom should have included them.
Nodever2 or modern gamers can learn how to play the game instead of having the game just play it for them. The Rookie hunter mode is more than adequate as an easy mode with the almost infinite health
Nodever2 You know what they say: “Git gud.”
Seems a bit biased that you criticized X7s voice acting yet didn't mention X4s which is as bad
Matiasga98 I was surprised he didn't mention how infamously hilariously bad X4's voice acting is.
StaticShock42 that and how it was so bad they redid the lines which were actually pretty good
"WHA- WHAT AM I FIGHTING FOOOOOORRRRRRRRRR!!!"
Do you have to hear BURN TO THE GROUND for 10 minutes
X4 voices are so bad it's funny.
X7 voices are so bad it's painful.
This is a big difference.
I'm buying the X collection 2 just because I'm a mega man fan and I've never played them when they launched. I always had Nintendo consoles and no PlayStation ones.
I guess I'm one of the few who enjoys and had no problems with X6
Bryan Westwood same...
Infinite Mijinion, Blaze Heatnix, Shield Sheldon, Ground Scaravich, Nightmare Mother, High Max, Gate. Bad, bad, bad, bad, bad, BAD. Bad stages, bad bosses, game only has appeal in pure masochism
Justin Hurowitz shhhh, let people enjoy things
I'm with you buddy. I think it's a really cool game... I do get the problems people have with it, but I love the difficulty and vibe of the game.
I don't understand the hate ninja x was badass
Naa. X5 is great for that. He also didn't like the double boss challenge mode.... because... it was challenging? Game journalists, lol.
Lot of X6 hate going around.
I never found it awful... But then again, I've only played it as a part of compilations.
nobody should ever be forced to fight the nightmare mother again
Justin Hurowitz It's actually a pretty fun fight in certain scenarios.
Starscream91 Not to sound rude, but what does being a casual even mean for your statement?
Black Pants I'm gonna guess they just mean they're not die hard fans of the series, but saying that X6's level design is so bad that even they couldn't like it.
Great: 😄
X2
X4
X8
Good: 🙂
X1
X3
OK: 🤨
X5
Bad: 😔
X6
DNP: 🤔
X7 (Can’t wait to finally try it! 😁)
Thanks for this longer, in-depth review. Most reviews I've seen haven't covered the entire package or didn't cover nearly enough details. I'm torn between this and Legacy collection 2 (mainly for Mega Man 8).
Viewyiful joe collection capcom do it!!
With red hot rumble
Couldn't they improve these issues with software updates?
They could....
but it's capcom :|
KNJfan If we complain hard enough theyll do it.
Dunno, I think it's doable. The emulation shouldn't be using all the switch hardware, so It's upgradable
X5 seemed like it had noticeable slowdown I never experienced on the original PS1 game, the digital PS3 release, or even the original collection
I hope they update it to include 8:7 aspect ratio for the SNES games since that's the aspect ratio SNES games were made in.
The Smooth Filter makes the games feel so HD =]
As in Horribly Defined, yes.
I grew up playing X1 as a kid and it remains one of my favorite games.
huge Megaman fan, favorite Megaman is Megaman x8
Guys, the wait is over 😀
Personally I find Megaman X4 to be the pinnacle of the series.
I love every of the 7 games of the Saga!! IMO X6 is awesome, but hard as hell compared to the other ones. (X7 doesn't exist)
The Accursed Hunter01 How dare!
Complaining about save states.... God go back and play these on the orginal hardware no save states at all! :P
X6 is one of those games that I'm seriously interested in sitting down, playing, and getting a solid opinion on. I hear everywhere it's the Sonic 06 of Mega Man X, but a few people here and there like Somecallmejohnny claim it isn't really all that bad.
X6 is no where near that bad. X7 is way closer to Sonic 06 quality, although it's not a buggy mess.
Got both for Ps4 pro all day. X4 is the best hands down. I use to play that back in the day on the PS1 all the time. It's a must have a classic.
Ain’t it nice when Gamexplain uploads during mid-day?
If only Capcom would re-release the Legends games on modern consoles.
Or just remake 1, 2, and Misadventures of Tron Bonne with Legends 3 prologue revived and recreated from the ground up and put together in a collection called “Mega Man Legends Reprinted Collection” or something like that.
you can get them both on PS3 from PSN
STM I got TB and 2 when they were rereleased on PSN on the respective days they came out with 1 from the morning after its rerelease. I had to get these games to show full support for the Legends series, especially since I never played any of them at the time, and the games were overall good. But from what I heard, neither 1, 2, or TB got rereleased in Europe and maybe even Australia.
A Legends collection should be made to have all gamers from all over the world to show support for the Legends series and convince Capcom that there is still an audience for these games and give us Legends 3.
Regrettably, I do not have a PS3.
Love your channel!!
Do you guys sleep?
Karson Beers not really, just like me!
Karson Beers I don’t think they do. Also, do YOU sleep? DO I SLEEP? DOES ANYONE SLEEP? AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!
Sleep is for the weak
You know that youtubers can set videos to upload at different times right?
....do you!?!????
To be honest, I really like X6. It's soundtrack is one of the best parts about it. X7...I'm not even going to try and defend that game.
X7 is obviously flawed, BUT I DID ENJOY PLAYING IT.
I played through it 3 times to level up X, Zero and Axl to 100% and then to see each ending.
You are the only review that explained how to save, I was puzzled after MLC... Just subscribed, keep up the good work! ;)
they should have included Command Mission in the 2nd collection to make it worthwhile.....still my favorite X game after the original
I get the hate for x6 and x7, but why so much towards x3? That game isn't a weak link at all in the series.
Hey there Mr.Ash
Never played X series.
Now that we've gotten Classic and X collections, I really hope we'll see a MegaMan Zero collection.
The X and Zero series are my two favorites (although I love the classic series and Battle Network as well)
As long as I can put the dash on L or R we'll be good
It looks like a good set up of games. I just wish they could of added a few other oddities from the offshoot games such as maverick hunter X.
So, um, why didn't Capcom make this all just one collection?
to make more money
I just think of Legacy Collection 2 as Megaman X8 HD with three bonus games thrown in xD
Still, I'm happy all of these games (even the more... suspect ones) are available on all modern consoles
X 1-3 were my favs, was waiting for Ash to make this :)
Honestly, I'm just glad they decided to make X6 and X7 available at all. It would have been very easy to simply pretend they didn't exist, but they didn't, and it's not like they're forcing you to buy them if you only want the good ones.
There's no defending the lack of save states though.
Gonna play X7 first to get it out of the way
Legacy Collection 1: all of the good games minus X8
Legacy Collection 2: all of the bad games plus X8
X4 was my first ever megaman game and absolutely loved it, loved the legacy collections on the 3DS it's a shame that these X collections didn't make it there definitely would've picked up at least the first one with X1-4
Legacy Collection 2 wasn't on the 3DS.
Buy both so we can have an X9. Please!!!!
Ash is such a joy to listen to when talking about games, especially megaman.
You gotta give x6 credit for having diverse stages and ideas
Ummm...no
Have you played x6? You'd accomplish more by fucking yourself. That game has the worse level design in the history of platformers
I know I'm in the minority but I actually quite liked X7.
Awesome review, here's hoping for a Zero and Battle Network Legacy Collection on Switch sometime soon!
I just need a Zero and ZX collection after this. Those are my favorite Mega Man games
